Chapter 5

"My office now" Caitlyn said under gritted teeth.

Both officers looked at each other, and without hesitation immediately headed towards Caitlyn's office.

Caitlyn was following closely behind. As soon all three entered the room, Caitlyn pushed the door shut with a little extra emphasis.

"Do you realize who it is that you're talking about. That women that you basically called easy is none other than the commissioners daughter. I could fire you both, and no one would bat an eye. You disrespected not one but two fellow officers with idle gossip, what exactly do you have to say for yourselves". Caitlyn looking back and forth between the two men".

"Well, we didn't mean to be disrespectful Sherriff". Said the officer to Caitlyn's Right.

"Then what exactly were you trying to accomplish by spreading rumors and lies"?

"They weren't lies". The smaller officer on Caitlyn's left quickly exclaimed.

Caitlyn slammed one hand on her desk in anger. Looking at both men as her blood began to boil. She could feel herself getting angrier by the second. Thoughts racing through her head. What if what they were saying were true. Vi got in a bar fight, while still probably in uniform, and then took her partner, the commissioner's young daughter, and most definitely slept with her. Maybe even while her partner was under the influence, making this whole mess worse. Fears began flooding Caitlyn's brain. Before she could let herself fall deeper, she snapped herself back.

"You're both suspended, two days for now, until I am able to get all the information, and I will have to bring this to the commissioner".

The small man on her left began to open his mouth in anger.

"I would pick your next words very carefully officer White". Caitlyn said while staring him down.

The officer closed his mouth and decided it wasn't worth it.

Caitlyn then picked up her phone, dialed a couple extensions before connecting.

"Sgt Andrews could you please meet me in my office immediately. Thank you".

Caitlyn looked back up at the two officers.

"Sgt Andrews will come in and escort you off the property. Before you leave you are required to hand over your badges and firearms. Oh, and gentlemen, please keep your phones on, I'm sure either me or the commissioner will be wanting to get ahold of you both in the near future".

Just then Sgt Andrews knocked on the door. "Come in. Yes, Sgt due to some unfortunate incidences these two will be put on a two-day suspension starting immediately. Please follow the proper procedures, and I will fill you in on further details when you return". Sgt Andrews looked at the two men in front of him with a look of horror on his face. He gestured both to follow him.

"Wait Sgt, where is Vi"? Caitlyn said while biting her lip in anger.

"Um I believe she is out on patrol Sherriff. Would you like me to phone dispatch and see if they can get a location on her"?

"Yes, that would be most helpful, and sooner than later please".

The Sgt nodded his head as he left with the two officers.

Everyone in the bullpen was staring as the three of them came out of Caitlyn's office. Even though her office was built to be soundproof, it was nothing compared to Caitlyn's loud yelling.

Caitlyn sat at her desk waiting for dispatch to get in contact with her on the location of Vi and Alina. She sat desperately trying not to let her mind fall down a deep dark hole. She just couldn't believe Vi of all people would put her in this position. Especially after she had just told her what a good example and enforcer she was. Was this it? was this the thing Vi was finally going to get fired for? For taking advantage of the commissioner's daughter, and worst of all letting it unfold in front of all her fellow officers. Caitlyn couldn't even defend her if she wanted to. It would make her look like she doesn't care about rules, and order.

Just then the phone rang, snapping Caitlyn back to reality.

"Sherriff Caitlyn". She quickly said as she picked up the phone. "Yes, dispatch I was wondering if you have a location on officer Vi, and Officer Kennington". She paused, waiting for an answer. "Ah I see, and do you know how long they have been making the arrests? Well could you please relay a message to officer Vi for me. Yes, thank you, please let her know she needs to stop by my office before heading home tonight, no matter how late it is. Very well, thank you so much". Caitlyn hung up the phone frustrated that she was going to have to wait for Vi to finish up a robbery bust in the far part of town.

Caitlyn decided to begin the very long paperwork on her now two suspended officers, she knew that would at least keep her busy in the meantime.

A couple of hours later Sgt Andrews returned. Caitlyn filled him in on the events that had unfolded hours prior. Asking him to help with shift coverage to make sure nothing went wrong while those two were out. He agreed and left her office heading back to his desk.

The clock ticked by ever so slowly, only making Caitlyn's anger and hostility worse. Everyone in the office avoided her direction at all costs, and when 5 o'clock came by they were out the door without hesitation.

Caitlyn now looking out to an empty room. She figured this was probably the best outcome. She didn't exactly feel right about yelling at Vi with her fellow officers in earshot.

Just then she heard to women laughing as they entered the bullpen. Caitlyn jumped from her office chair and made her way to her door.

As soon as Vi saw Caitlyn she went rushing over. "Oh man you should have been there". Vi exclaimed excitedly. "There were these Four massive" But before she could get the words out Caitlyn slammed her hand down on the desk closes to her. "My office now Vi". Vi looked at Caitlyn and then back to Ali in compete confusion. "Did you hear me". Vi looked at Caitlyn now more with fear. "Yes Ma'am" Vi exclaimed as she followed Caitlyn into her office.

Caitlyn looked back at Alina. "Officer Kennington, please fill free to head home for the night, I will need to speak with you first thing tomorrow though". And with that Caitlyn slammed her door. Alina got up to leave, but then heard her name being yelled by Caitlyn, and decided maybe she would stick around to see what this was about.
