Authors Note: Okay I have wanted to do a short story revolvingaround the week Keith tried to become Chloe's friend but I just didn't know what to write for it for the longest time. Then this reader prompt site a week ago sends a prompt to write about someone trying to help another person but it goes horribly wrong and recreated that spark to write a short story based on Keith's and Chloe's rocky start. But only now as I was trying to go to bed early for once, I got inspired on how to exactly write that story. So I hope you guys enjoy Chapter 6 of Kwamis and Lions Intro Arc in Chloe's perspective(This takes place before and during Chapter 6 of KALIA).

~Leafbranch

Chloe sits across from the losers who are being questioned by the fireman. She smirks, at least they don't have to do baking lessons from Dupain-Cheng's father. And when the whole school gets punished she smirks even wider. At last those losers will do something that befits peasants as themselves. Cleaning up garbage. And she gets off scot free because of her fathers connections.

Noticing Adrien walking towards her, her smile becomes less of a smirk and more one borne from genuine happiness. "Adrikins!" She says, happiness blooming in her chest, clearing away the hate she has for her classmates.

"Chloe, I can't condone what you've done. Marinette's father was nice enough to give our class baking lessons while Marinette is missing and you ruined it. I can not stay friends with you if you continue to do this kind of behavior."

"But…."

"No buts, Chlo. You've hurt my friends, and I've let it slide, but it ends now." He then stalks off and Chloe bites her finger. How dare he! How dare he! Her mind then thinks of another boy, one who has constantly tried to be her friend, like that stupid jock Kim. Keith Kogane. It had been a week since he came to the school, but already he was trying to be best friends it seems.

"Mine if I carry your bag, Blondie?" Keith asked the second day he was at school. She had responded harshly, "Sure, why not?"

Then later that same day after school he had given her a stack of notes. He was smiling, "Since Sabrina isn't here I thought I would photocopy my notes and hand them to you." She had accepted the gesture with little enthusiasm.

She shakes her head, that boy was nothing more of a nuisance than anything else. She was glad Sabrina got over her sickness a few days later as Kogane was starting to get on her nerves.

After heading home she complains to her butler about what Adrien said to her at the school. Her butler informs her that maybe she should be trying to be nice. She refuses at first. Because why should she should peasants kindness, when he brings out Mr. Cuddles.

"What would Mr. Cuddles want you to do?" Her butler prompts and she sighs and answers with a groan, "Be nice."

"Then you should throw a party."

She does as her butler suggests and throws an extravagant party that same day. Hopefully Adrikins will see how nice she can be and be her friend again. Her only friend. Sabrina was her friend, but more so because of her status and riches than anything else.

Shoving those thoughts down she greets Adrikins first with a French cheek kiss greeting, as well as others who come to her apology party. But when she gets to Kogane, she becomes hesitant to do so. Because of how much of a nuisance he has been this past week. Encouragement from her butler, however, makes her greet him the same way.

The party goes well all things considered and it seems like the plan of pretending to be nice is working. Mr. Cuddles and her butler's encouragement helps a little too.

Things go awry when her butler accidentally reveals Mr. Cuddles to the whole class.

"How dare you! You are fired Jean Blanc or whatever your name is!" Chloe shouts, absolutely furious for her butler making her look like a fool to everyone. She stalks off, but before she can completely leave the scene, Sabrina starts to attack her. When she ducks behind Kim, he starts to attack her too.

Kogane then suddenly lifts her off the ground, carrying her away bridle style. A part wants to struggle and then remembers that people are actively trying to harm her so it might be best to stay put. Then Kogane sets her down and fights the bear after it says something. She can't recall exactly what the bear said.

Chat Noir also joins the fight and yells instructions at Kogane who obeys and takes her to the roof. When he lets her go, she notices the bear loose string that Kogane cut as Chat Noir holds the struggling teddy bear in his grasp and the umbrellas. "Let's tie him to one of the umbrellas!"

Taking the string, she and Kogane tie it to the umbrellas and slowly unravel the evil teddy bear. Kogane then shouts to her to keep spinning and she does so as he fights the people that attacked her earlier. She half pays attention to Kogane fighting, and her task.

When she's done unraveling the bear she notices a loud splash sound coming from the pool. Rushing over near its edge, not caring whether or not Chat got the akuma and made the teddy bear back to normal, she sees Kogane get out of the pool soaked from head to toe.

He also holds his left arm with his right, implying it was hurt in some way.

Lilia then berates him for saving her, even when Kogane protests. But Lila doubles down and Chloe shifts her gaze to Kogane. She sees something inside him snap and his purple eyes turn to slits. He shouts, anger permeating his voice, "I don't care if she says thank you or gives me a reward! I don't care about rewards for saving people! And I don't care that she's mean, cruel and selfish! I just want to be her friend because I don't see all of that. I see a woman who is smart at figuring out solutions to problems, I see her trying hard to be nice and kind, I see a confident young lady who deserves people who actually try to be nice to her instead of treating her like how she treats you! And maybe she changes, maybe not. But I'm willing to give it a chance! So if you all are going to be stupid human beings then I won't be friends with all of you anymore and my only friend, if she will have me will be Chloe! Because at least she doesn't berate me for saving her! We're done here."

She blushes, as no one has ever stood up for before. Or ever wanted to be her friend genuinely before. Her and Adrien were only friends because of their parents being connected with one another. Or has broken bridges with others because they want to be friends. Looking back on the week and what she thought were nuisances, makes her blush. Because he was trying to reach out to her. Be her friend and do things for her willingly instead of being bribed.

Noticing Koga…..Keith has stalked off, along with the rest of the class, she races to find him. Luckily he is only down a few steps down the stairs when she sees him. "Keith! Wait up!" Keith looks at her, a little surprise coloring his purple eyes.

"Hello Blondie," He says.

Gasping from sprinting for a short burst, she gives him a signal with hand that she needs a minute. Once she catches her breath she smiles and blushes a little, "Thanks for what you said back there and for saving me from my butler's wrath. I shouldn't have fired him, but he showed Mr. Cuddles in front of everyone and they laughed at me,"

Keith shrugs, "Really I wasn't paying attention. I was more focusing on my own internal struggles instead of enjoying your Apology Party."

"It's fine, I didn't want to hold it anyways. It was all Jean, whatever his last name is, idea. But um, I was surprised when you cradled me in your arms to escape him."

"I was thinking quickly, you were in trouble and I was just helping you."

"But even the superheroes don't want to save me half the time. They pretend but I know they don't like me. They only save me because they have to." Chloe says, sadness filling her chest.

"Well I don't hate you. I mean sure you're mean, but we all go through that phase where we're mean to everyone. I did when I was younger.."

"You did!?" She gasps, shocked and surprised. He went through the same thing….He was me at a point in his life?

"Yep. My mom left me and my dad after I was born. So I started to push people away and be mean to them. I was the loner at school. But one day a man I like to call my brother helped me out of that phase. I was still a loner and didn't make friends but he and my dad were the only ones I needed. My brother also helped me to work to my potential so I stopped getting into fights and making things hard on my classmates. He disappeared a few months before my father died. And now I live with my cousins the Agreste's."

Chloe hums, not really knowing what to say. Because his background, while different, was similar to hers. Her mom left her dad despite Chloe trying to prove herself. That's when she started to be cruel towards others too. But instead of commenting on that instead she says, "I figured, after all you and Adrien were buddy buddy before today and you had fencing lessons with him on Friday.,"

"He was your childhood friend yet he didn't stick up for you! He makes my blood boil whenever I think of when he could have been nicer to you. But I will forgive him and if he apologizes I might even be friends with him again."

"Well I guess now we're friends. And Sabrina's not my friend either. She joined the rest of the class and went home down the elevator." She adds, assuming that's what they did.

"Too bad. Guess that means tomorrow I should ask Madame Bustier if I can switch seats. I bet Sabrina's going to ask too."

"Heh probably."

"You know I think whoever gave the miraculous to Ladybug and Chat Noir should give one to you. Because you are smart and handled yourself well under pressure from that bear."

"Well they should give one to you as well. You fought well for being the same age as me. And you even slashed Alya's cheek and gave Kim a bruise. I bet they won't forgive you."

Keith laughs, "I bet."

She and him embrace each other in genuine laughter at the ridiculousness of the notion of Kim and Alya getting their revenge as they walk down the stairs, despite Keith still being soaked from pool water. She smiles after their laughter dies down. Perhaps she doesn't need Adrikins as a friend, when the person who stood up to her is right next to her. Blushing, she remembers, not for the first time, the whole week and Keith's acts of kindness towards her in trying to get her to be his friend. And thinks she's grateful to have a person who is genuinely interested in being her friend, relaxing that though she and Adrien were childhood friends, their friendship wasn't the same as it was before. Adrien had pretty much ignored her unless she elicited contact, whereas Keith took the time to make the first move in their friendship. She will be forever grateful for that, his acts of kindness.
