Cute Merry Man from Another World – Chapter 1
While they were sleeping, they were sent to the Sherwood Forest. But it wasn't the one from their world. In fact, it was some other world far away from theirs. When they woke up, they looked around, with only the greenery of the forest being in their sight.
"Where… are we…?" Hyde first asked. Before they could do anything first, they looked at themselves and, to their shock, they were now little anthropomorphic fox children, with Hyde and Linne keeping his appearance.
Indeed, Hyde is a young boy of average height with strange, dual-toned, messy hair, being bleach blonde at the front and black at the back end. His eyes are a dark red and have cat slit pupils.
He is commonly seen wearing his school uniform in a rather sloppy manner. His apparel consists of an black, unzipped blazer with gold rims on the lapels, collar and pockets. He has a small belt with a golden buckle each wrapped around the sleeves of the blazer and the right arm is embellished with the emblem of his school. He wears two more normal sized belts around his waist, the top one is done up but not buckled while the bottom one hangs loosely.
Underneath his uniform, Hyde wears a white, long sleeved polo shirt with the topmost button undone, revealing a red shirt underneath. Hyde loosely wears a red tie with two black and red stripes on the back of it. His legwear consists of black pants with two zippers going up to below the knee and black, leather shoes with a gold stripe going across the front.
What he couldn't understand however, was that despite being a young anthropomorphic fox, his clothes still fit him.
Linne, on the other hand… didn't like how she looked.
Linne's appearance is that of a young girl with brown hair and brown eyes. She wears a yellow hoodie over a black shirt that goes up her neck, black spandex shorts and black zipper boots up to calf-length.
And because of the fact that she would look younger, Linne looked even more of a 1st grader, which was what she would hate about it.
"Wait a minute…! How did we end up here?! And more importantly, what the hell is this place?!" When Hyde would ask that question out of disbelief, he noticed that his voice became much younger, further confusing the two. Before they could do anything, they calmed down first. They looked at each other and they realized that they, in fact, were transformed into anthropomorphic fox children.
"So… What now…?" Linne asked, still in disbelief about their situation. Hyde would try to pinch himself in case it would be a dream. But it didn't work. They were awake this whole time. They both sighed, not knowing what to do next.
"Perhaps… Perhaps we should talk to some people around here…" Hyde suggested, his suggestion made Linne think that the people around here wouldn't understand. Yet it was the only choice that they had. And so, they decided to walk around the forest.
Upon doing so, they learned that they were sent into somewhere that wasn't part of their world. They also learned that the Sherwood Forest was near a town known as Nottingham. Knowing how those names were pronounced, it turned out that they ended up in this world's England, not theirs.
They walked for hours to get out of the Sherwood Forest, until they saw something that widened their eyes a bit.
They saw a carriage that was surrounded by guards that looked like anthropomorphic rhinoceros. Seeing it, both Hyde and Linne only thought to themselves… "Well… This is way weird than being an anthropomorphic fox kid…"
Meanwhile, inside the carriage, there was an anthropomorphic lion who wore royal clothes the wrong way, the crown with the wrong way, rattling up the many gold coins there were. There was also a snake accompanying the lion.
"Taxes! Taxes! Beautiful, lovely taxes!" the lion exclaimed, as he happily rattled down the coins that were present, like a greedy king.
"S-Sire, you have an absolute skill... for encouraging contributions from the poor." the snake said. Hearing it, both Hyde and Linne realized that the lion was actually a tyrant who oppressed the poor with his overtaxes.
It was then that they had to do something. But suddenly, they were grabbed on their back by one of the rhinoceros. It turned out that they hadn't picked the right hiding spot. As the two children tried to break free of themselves, but to no avail. They were brought to the lion, who was interested in those two.
"Well well well… What do we have here…?" the lion said. Of course, knowing the intentions of the lion, both Hyde and Linne were completely disturbed by his interest.
"What do you want with us?" Hyde asked. "Oh, nothing… were you two lost in this forest, by any chance…?" The lion asked, with the intention of harming them in case things wouldn't go as he planned. However, with the powers that they had that could be out of the world they ended up to, both Hyde and Linne were completely unfazed by it.
"So what if we were? Got a problem with that…?" Linne asked. The lion was impressed by her response. However, he wouldn't know much about the two children's full potential.
"I do… You see, I cannot have you be in my way… As you must have known by now, I have an agenda of oppressing the poor into overtaxes… Should you-" Before the lion could finish, Linne decided to interrupt his speech.
"We won't do as you would say to us. We'll stop you no matter what happens to the poor afterwards." Linne completely said to the lion, who has become furious with them.
"You darn brats! I was hoping that you would be more understanding! Guards! Seize them!" The lion exclaimed. Because of that, the guards surrounded both Hyde and Linne. With no second thought, Linne grabbed her long sword *No Name* and dagger *Nameless*. The weapons were easily gripped on her hands each.
As for Hyde, He let out his sword named *Indulgence of Insulating, commonly known as *Insulator*. The Insulator has its distinct red coloration for the blade, but it has a pale-yellow hilt and pommel concealed by brown wrappings. Unusually, the Insulator has no guard, as commonly seen on japanese katanas. This, combined with its curved blade, give it more of an appearance similar to that of a scimitar.
The Insulator was easily gripped from the hilt in Hyde's hands, with both Hyde and Linne being prepared for the outcome, with no other choice but to prove to the arrogant lion that the group the two came from doesn't answer to anyone…
And so, the battle began…
Despite the numbers of the guards overpowering both Hyde and Linne, it wouldn't matter to them, as for In-Births like them, it's more *quality* over *quantity*. In fact, both Hyde and Linne cut down the guards one-by-one in under 5 minutes, with the archers being easily spotted with Hyde's *Shadow Scare* in which he stabs the ground with the Insulator and causes flames to erupt from the ground, causing the archers to be flown out. Despite the fact that they couldn't hurt the guards because of their powers, they have incapacitated them so that the guards couldn't fight on their own.
As time passed, both Hyde and Linne were surrounded of incapacitated guards, shocking the arrogant lion.
"H-How?! How did this happen?! How could my bodyguards have been defeated?!" He exclaimed, still in disbelief that both Hyde and Linne had easily defeated his bodyguards.
"See? We tried to warn you about our strength. But you wouldn't even try to bother to listen…" Hyde said, mocking the lion while the two went out.
"I… I will never forgive you for this!" The lion exclaimed, seeing both Hyde and Linne walking out of the battlefield. Some time later, the two children had a feeling that it wouldn't be the last they'll see of them. Nevertheless, they walked out of the forest, thinking that they would indirectly save the poor of Nottingham.
