Mike and Kate stood up "Can we have every one attention please" Every one turn to mike and Kate
"Thank you all for coming here to join Kate and me for Christmas this year. Kate and I done a lot of talking over the past few weeks"
"Is that all you did sir" Spider called out making every one laugh
"spider tooth brush" Kate said
"sorry X"
"And I've spoke to sustain people who are here today. In the past few weeks I've received some shocking news" Kate held onto his hand and gave it a squeeze.
"I've learn that Commander Maxine White two sons Ryan and Patrick... are my sons" Every one look at Mike in shock.
"you didn't know sir" ET asked
"no" Mike said
"She trick mike twice by showing up with two bottles of wine and a story. Mike fell for her stories and you know what happens when you drink to much, in both cases when one party drinks to much" Kate said
"Sir did she know that you were there father" Charge asked
"Yes she did charge"
"X how do you feel about it" Swain asked
"Shock but I knew about what knocker" every one laugh
"did to mike but finding out that his god sons are his sons it a shocker alright. That is why his sisters hate her"
"There more" Mike said as he look around.
"Flipper...Mac she my daughter" mike said. He and Kate look at every one in shock
"Your daughter. Sir" ET said
"Yes" Mac stood up and walk over and stood next to Mike. He turn to her and gave her a smile which she did in return.
Then she turn to every one there and told them every thing that happen and what was in her mother diaries including about Maxine. When she finish telling about what happen and how she founds out, every one was shock with the news.
"Mac how do you feel now you know who your dad is" Spider asked
"Shock, happy. We still getting to know each other and" she turn and gave mike a sustain smile
"He loves playing with his grand sons, don't you mike"
"what do you mean" Mike asked
"Sand castles" Kate, Nikki and Pete laugh.
"Very funny" mike said.
Mac turn to every one "There is some news I like to share with every one here... Stewart White is my uncle"
"Friend or family" Spider asked
"Family spider. He my mum half brother on my grand father side of the family and as you all know about me being a bone marrow donor...Stewart is the one who I donated to and that is how we both found out that we are related, just like I found out that Mike is my father and about Ryan and Patrick" Mac said
"We decided to tell you all about it so you would all know and under stand. As Kate said to me this morning that all of you are like a second family to Kate and me" Mike said
"Sir, X, flipper on behalf of Hammersley crew thank you for sharing your family secrets. No matter what we are always there for each other" Charge said. The crew nodded in agreeing.
"Is there any news any one want to share" Kate asked.
"I do" Ryan stood up as every one turn to him
"I've been excepted to go to the officer navy academy, I start in March" Mike was shock as every one else clap.
"Are you sure Ryan" mike asked
"Yes I am, after all it in my genes" Making every one laugh.
Mike walk over and gave him a hug "dose Maxine know"
"no"
"I'm prod of you Ryan"
"Thanks Mike" Mike return to his seat while Ryan sat down
"I got some news to share" Mac said smiling.
She look around at every one then to Dutchy who was also grinning as he stood up and walk over to where Mac is. He past her an envelope which she turn to Mike and pass it to him
"Mac" He asked
"It a transferred request to a shore posting" Every one was shock
"Why"
"I'm pregnant" She said smiling then she turn to see every one shock including her grand parents
"Well congratulations" he pulled her in to a hug and shook Dutchy hand.
"How far long are you" Kate asked
"Two months, I found out from my doctor when he called me the other day"
"tomorrow I'll get the paper work sorted out so when you return back from six week patrol you can start your shore posting but where would you like to go for it"
"Dylan and I talk about that. I would like to stay here since my family is here"
"I'll take care of it for you"
"thanks." they hug once more before returning back to her seat.
"Hey flipper"
"Yes buffer"
"You would be working with your dad and auntie at NAVCOM" Buffer called out.
Nikki slap his arm and shook her head at him as every one laugh. Then she lean over and whisper some thing in his ear which shock him then he turn to see her grinning at him.
"Is there any other surprise" mike asked
When there was no response "Ok lets eat" Mike said as he sat down next to Kate.
Every one talk and laugh while enjoying there large lunch and deserts. The crew gave Dutchy and Mac a hard time while congratulate them. Later that afternoon every one was talking while relaxing. The crew was giving each other a hard time.
Some of the crew had to leave since they were due on duty watch on Hammersley so they left while there families stayed. When the ones who was on watch showed up Kate show them where the food is so they could help them selves then join every one out side where they learn the news about Mike family. Kids were playing in the play area while the adults were talking and laughing.
That night every one had left overs from lunch for dinner as well have bread and butter with it so they could make up there own sandwiches if they wanted it. Later that night every one was gone after they enjoy there Christmas day. They all thank Mike and Kate before leaving with there families.
After they left Kate called her father and talk to him, then mike and kids did before they went to bed. Then Mike called his parents where he and Kate talk to them before they went to bed since Kate got to be on Hammersley in the morning and Mike got work as well.
The next morning Kate went to check to see if the gas cylinders been replace, the water tanks are full, the septet tanks were emptied and clean, as will see if the fridge and the food galley full of food before she went to do her normal jobs.
When it was time Hammersley left port for there six week patrol. While mike was at NAVCOM sorting out Mac transferred request as well got her doctor letter confirming that she is pregnant as well checking his e-mail to see one from fleet command after mike sent in a complaint from about what Maxine did.
When he saw that fleet command wanted mike to call them so he pick up the phone and called them. He told them about what happen few days ago and including about the food shortage and other things that Kate not only told mike but it was also in the captain report which was on mike desk.
On new year day Mike was reading a report when his cell phone rings so he pull it out of his pocket to see who calling then answer it
"Happy new year" mike said smiling
"Happy new year Mike, I got your text message"
"You did"
"Yes I did, how did it go with fleet command"
"they not happy and sending some one to talk to Maxine about what she done"
"Ok do you know when"
"In the next few days" then he turn around in his chair to see Nikki in the door way holding couple of files.
"Ok will you let me know how it goes"
"sure, I better return back to work"
"Why don't you want to talk to me"
"Yes I do but Nav giving me one of her strange looks saying I'm in trouble" Kate laugh
"I'm sure you can handle it Mike... I better go, boat turning only means one or two things" then they heard
"X to the bridge, X to the bridge"
"Ok be careful, love you"
"Love you to give kids a hug from me"
"will do" then they hung up.
"you could of told me it was Kate calling you sir" she step into his office.
Mike smile "More files to read"
"Yes and sign" she put them on his desk
"thanks" Nikki turn around and walk out of Mike office leaving him with his work.
Two days later Mike was talking to Nav in the ball pen since he past her a file when she saw some one walk into the room
"sir" She gave mike a little head nudge. He turn to see who it was then walk over to him
"commander Wilson, I'm commander Flynn" they shook hands
"commander, you know why I'm here"
"Yes I do I was inform from fleet command about it. Is there any thing I can help you with"
"Which way is commander White office"
"Over there" Mike said turning to look at Maxine office
"and yours"
"Next door"
"you carry on with what you were doing commander"
"sure" Mike turn and walk back over to where Nikki is.
"Who that"
"commander Wilson he here from fleet command"
"the investigation"
"Yes"
"ok, good luck"
"We both going to need it and the crew"
"True" Mike turn and walk back to his office.
Later that afternoon commander Wilson walk out of Maxine office after talking for few hours as well stop for lunch. He walk over to where mike is to see him talking to him self since his back was to the commander.
Nikki walk over to him "sir" he turn to Nikki
"Yes lieutenant"
"commander Flynn is dealing with a emergency on one of the patrol boat that called few minutes ago for a medic vac sir"
"I see" Nikki smile
"You thought he was talking to him self sir"
"Well yes" Nikki giggle
"don't worry sir you not the only one who thinks commander Flynn lost his marbles"
"Nav" she turn to mike as he remove the blur tooth from his left ear
"Well it true sir" Mike shook his head at her then turn to commander Wilson
"sorry about that commander"
"It ok lieutenant here explain it to me"
"I heard. You wanted to talk to me"
"Yes"
"This way and Nav I haven't lost my marbles"
"I didn't you had some sir" she said grinning
"Very funny"
"Every thing alright on Kingston"
"Three crew members were shot when they try to board a FFV"
"that bad sir"
"Yes Hammersley on it way to there location to take over to catch the FFV"
"Why didn't Kingston use it Typhoon?" Nikki asked
"It was damage when one of the gunmen fires a pond it"
"I under stand sir Kingston won't be happy if Hammersley catch those men on the FFV" mike smile
"no they wont" Then he turn and saw the commander looking at them both
"I'll explain" mike said as he walk to his office with commander Wilson following.
Nikki finish work for the day when Mike and commander Wilson walk in to the ball pen where they shook hands before commander walk out of the ball pen.
Mike walk over to Nav "going home"
"Yep, you"
"Yeah, let me get my hat and brief case and I'll walk you to your car"
"thanks Sir" Mike return to his office then walk back to where Nikki is then they walk out together.
"How did it go with commander Wilson"
"Good, all I can do is wait"
"ok, good news sir. Hammersley caught the men from the FFV" Mike smile
"Kingston won't be happy"
"no they won't. Kate was the one who came up with the plan"
"Really"
"Yep she got the idea from you sir when we caught Gallagher" Mike smile
"Well I did teach her things I know"
"Yes you did sir" Nikki said smiling.
Week later Mike received an e-mail from Fleet command, He click on the link and read what it said about the investigation. He was reading the out come when he heard
"mike Flynn" he turn around to angry Maxine
"Maxine"
"You sent a complaint about me to fleet command cause I sent Hammersley to Samaru island"
"Yes I did and I did warn you that I was going to do it. Did you relies you waste over a million dollars of tax payer money for that when it could of cost fifty thousand dollar, there a big differences and not only that, there was little food, water and fuel on board when you sent Hammersley out" Mike said yelling at Maxine as he stood up looking at her.
"Plus those boxes weren't due to be drop off till the twenty eights, not the twenty third. And on top of that some of the wharf workers had to work on Christmas day to fill Hammersley water, gas and fuel tanks as well empty the sewage tanks since they were full in time for Hammersley to leave the next morning. To right I complain about it and I have every right to. If you don't like the out come of the investigation, then you complain to fleet command about it, not to me. Now get out of my office, I got work to do"
Maxine turn and walk out and slamming the door behind her. Mike sat down putting his elbows on the desk as he cover his face up with his hands as he let out his breath till his cell phone rings so he got it out of his pocket and answer it
"Mike Flynn hello" He said with out looking to see who calling.
"mike Flynn this is your wife speaking. What this I hear you and knocker having deep throat debates" Kate said in angry tone
"Kate" he relax
"Yes it me, Nikki text me saying you and knocker have deep throat debates to call you" Mike look out the window to see Nikki looking at him with a smile on her face he smile back
"We received letter from fleet command about the investigation"
"And"
"they not happy with what Maxine done. She been given a warning, next time she would be transferred to some where else since she letting her personal feelings get in the way of her work and command decisions"
"Ok that is good to know, now you listen to me Mike Flynn"
After Nikki text to Kate she return back to what she was doing for a couple of minutes till she look up to see Mike answering his cell phone. She saw his reaction and look at her and smile then he said some thing to Kate so she return back to what she was doing but look up every now and then to see mike looking a bit relax and smiling more since he was still on the phone till he hung up.
Few minutes later Mike walk over to where Nikki is. She look up from her computer "sir"
"thank you Nav"
"your welcome sir, I could tell you needed some calming down"
"Well it work but, I'm in trouble with Kate"
"Oh" she raise her eye brows then she saw Maxine walking up behind Mike.
She gave mike eye movement so he would know that Maxine behind him. "Yes she said when Hammersley returns, she going to torturer me"
"torturer you sir in what way"
"Wearing that barbie doll out fit that drives me crazy while I'm cuff to the bed"
"sounds kinky sir, but I'm sure you can handy Kate torches" Nikki said smiling
"I got no other choice, when she in change while in the bed room, I'm in trouble"
"Ah so is that why when I see Kate the next day she looks like she on cloud nine. Now I know. Now since your here sir" she pick up couple of files and pass them to him
"These are the rosters you wanted"
"thanks Nav" then he turn around as saw angry Maxine looking at him
"Is there a problem Maxine"
"no"
"good" he smile at her then he walk away.
Nikki was looking down at a open file till she heard Maxine walking back into her office. She smile as she carry on with what she was doing.
