Chapter Twelve
Petrie was flying around in circles around as he tried picking up sticks and leaves to build his and Dactyla's nest. Duckie was swimming alongside Hadro. Ruby was talking with Gray in the tree shadows. Spike was eating tall grasses with Tippy, Lyla lee, and Hitty. Little foot and Ali had their heads closer to each other rubbing their noses affectionally. Only Cera walked alone. Nod's and Ankyla's tails were intertwined together. Hyp and Hypatia were punching each other in the arms giggling. Mutt and Duh were making faces at each other. Cera just watched sad and lonely. She quickly shook her head with angry. "Hmmph! Mush!" She went walking off. As she went along, she noticed pebbles had fallen from a nearby cliff near the Great Valley entrance . She looked anxious. What had happened? As she looked, she noticed a pile of rocks all around. Something or someone was under them. Who was it? She hoped it was not a sharp tooth. She slowly backed away from it. She wanted to run away, but decided not to. Cera moved toward the rock pile slowly. She turned quickly and hid when she saw the rock pile move suddenly. She shivered. She was hoping it wasn't a sharp tooth that found its way into the Great Valley. Cera knew that was nonsense to think that way, yet she still felt scared. Saurine poked his head out.
He groaned. "Where am I?"
Cera slowly crept from her hiding place and then she smiled. It was another three horn. She should sigh a sigh of relief. Cera decided to walk up to the young, handsomely strong, three horn boy. He was her age. He was so strong. He was so young. He was so handsome. His horns were so sharp, long and shiny. He was so handsome. He was from the Mysterious Beyond, which could explain why he looked so rugged and toughly built. Cera hoped he wasn't totally loser like the other herb eaters or three horns boys around here. He was only three horn boy around here. Littlefoot was the only herb eater that had any real potential, but he was a longneck. Petrie and Spike were not as interesting as Littlefoot nor were they three horns. Chomper was a sharp tooth and annoying. The young handsome stranger's voice sounded rich, tough, and warm. What was wrong with her? Was she in love? She immediately took that idea out of her head. Still, Cera had to introduce herself. Three horns didn't fall for everyone they met. They weren't like other leaf eaters. There was no such thing as love at first sight in three horns. Three horns are practical, reasonable, and logical creatures. She must not let her feelings show. She keeps calm. She mustn't let this newcomer think otherwise.
"You are in the Great Valley." Cera went up to him calmly. Saurine looked dazed when she spoke to him.
"Huh! Great Valley!
"You are in the Great Valley." She repeated herself reassuring.
"Great Valley." The young stranger reacted. "Where? Here?"
"Yes, we are here in the Great Valley where all leaf eaters live together in harmony and peace. We share all our food and water. We get along well for the most part in Great Valley. There is usual enough food and water here, but no sharp teeth live in the Great Valley." She said.
"The Great Valley! For real. It is real." The young three horn exclaimed surprised and nervously. "I didn't think it was possible.
"It is possible. Let me show you around. I'll introduce you to some of my acquaintances and friends." Cera informed.
"Other three horns." Saurine asked.
Some. Most of my friends are three horns." Cera said remembering that threehorns from Mysterious Beyond don't play or associate with other herb eaters, but other three horns. It was just how things were with three horns. They like to keep to themselves. She had to remember that even if most of residents of the Great Valley didn't keep to their kind. The Mysterious Beyond was very different from the Great Valley.
"Sure, I would love to see the Great Valley with you. It is so nice for you to show me around the Great Valley." Saurine said smiling. He was taken back by this beautiful, young female, three horn he just met.
Cera cooed infatuation. "No problem! It is the least I can do for a fellow three horn." Cera led Saurine around the Great Valley. She showed him the tall trees filled with tree stars, the cold running rivers, the massive lakes, and the small ponds. She led him into the wide flowing grass plains, the tall rocks areas, but finally to the small desolate sharp tooth cave where Chomper slept in. Of course, she never mentioned that a sharp tooth slept there. The idea that a sharp tooth lived in the Great Valley was not expected in such a paradise for two young three horns.
"I didn't catch your name. I am Saurine." The young handsome stranger gasped. "My name is Cera." Cera said smiling eager to show this young, handsomely strong, three horn around the Great Valley. "Well, Saurine, you will love it in the Great Valley." Cera flirted.
"We have many kinds of tall trees to eat tree stars from?" Cera guided Saurine around. "Try some if you like." Saurine told her he had never tasted such delicious tree stars before. Carefully strolling through the thickly covered grasses, Cera pointed out with her third horn the massive numbers of herb eaters grazing on the plains.
"This is Grandma and Grandpa Longneck." Cera introduced Saurine to them.
"You know longnecks?" Saurine reacted surprised.
"Yes, all leaf eaters get along with each other in the Great Valley."
"Why, hello Cera. Who is your friend?" Grandpa Longneck asked.
"This is Saurine. He is new around here." Cera answered. "But you can see that."
"Hello Saurine." Grandpa Longneck greeted.
"Aah. Hello, sir. It is a pleasure to meet you." Saurine answered.
"It is nice to meet you, too, Saurine." Grandpa Longneck replied.
"Yes, it is. We don't meet such nice, young, three horns." Grandma Longneck commented.
"I am glad to be here." Saurine said.
As Cera and Saurine left, Grandpa Longneck and Grandma Longneck remarked to each other.
'It is good that Cera has found an companion. She looked lonely without one like our Littlefoot did." Grandpa Longneck recalled.
"Yes, dear. Everything is like it should be with their mate just as we are." Grandma Longneck smuggled against Grandpa Longneck.
"This is one of the many lakes where all of Great Valley residents drink and swim in. There are many lakes, rivers and ponds in the Great Valley." Cera informed.
At that moment, the lake had many bigmouths and other water plant eaters grazing on water flowers. Cera introduced Saurine to Duckie's mother.
"This is Mrs. Swimmer."
"Hello." Duckie's mother said.
"I am Duckie. Cera's friend and this is my friend, Hadro." Duckie interrupted.
"Hello." Hadro answered.
"Hello." Saurine also answered.
"My friend is Saurine. I am known as Cera." Cera greeted. "These are a few of the friendly leaf eaters around here."
"Are there more?" Saurine wondered.
"Oh yes, let me introduce you to Spike, Duckie's adopted spike tail brother." Cera told him.
"Spike tails, too?" Saurine snorted in disbelief.
Spike was romping around the grassy hills when Duckie called him.
"Cera wants you to meet her new boyfriend." Duckie giggled in delight.
"Cera has a boyfriend." Spike muttered surprised.
"Whose Cera?" Hetty asked.
"Spike's three horn friend." Tippy informed. Spike nodded his head.
"I'll be back after I say hi." Spike told them.
On the cliffs, the flyers were building their nests waiting for their eggs to be laid. "There are cliffs were the flyers live on." Cera tried not to laugh. "Here is where they make their nests." Petrie and Dactyla were flying around, bringing rocks, sticks, and tree leaves of their new nests. Petrie kept missing the nest. Cera didn't want to introduce Petrie to Saurine because he was very busy building his new family's nest. Besides, there would have plenty of time later to introduce Petrie.
"Are there other three horns as beautiful as you are." Saurine sighed.
"There are other three horns like me, but not as beautiful. I have many sisters, my stepmother, my nieces and nephews, my half sister and father, but they aren't as beautiful as me." Cera flirted shyly.
"When am I going to meet the other three horns?" Saurine asked.
"I thought you would never asked." Cera winked.
The wind was getting louder as well as stronger as Chomper had been walking toward Tiara's scent and trying to avoid Red Claw whose scent had been carried in the strong gale. It was getting so hard to see since all the wind had made a terrible dust storm that seem to engulf the whole Mysterious Beyond. Now he had lost both scents and was completely blinded by the dust. So much of finding Tiara, her scent and avoiding Red Claw. How was he going to get out of this dust storm? Crashing out from the sand storm, a massive perching roar following by an obtuse gray head with a glaring red eye that had a pink colored scar running across it. Chomper growled angrily. "RED CLAW!"
