Lyra and Damon started to hang out more. When Damon told her what happened with Caroline Forbes, she knew she was running out of time to warn Jenna. Lyra hadn't met Katherine yet, but she honestly seemed like a bitch. She got that idea just from what Damon told her. Hopefully she would leave town and not cause more problems.
Teddy seemed to really like Damon. Shocking since Damon had never been around kids, well not since Stefan was little. Damon honestly thought it was awesome that Teddy could change his hair and eyes to look just like his. Lyra had explained how he would be able to change his features later on, Damon couldn't wait.
Their friendship had come as a shock to Stefan and Elena. It seemed that Elena wanted him to change his ways and try to be more like his brother, only problem was Stefan wasn't the best role model. Lyra had told him, as long as Damon didn't kill an innocent, she could care less what he did. Feeding on people, blood bags or fresh, was all a part of being a vampire. You can't change a vampire, Elena would learn that eventually.

It took about a week for Lyra to see Jenna out and about. Lyra and Teddy were at the grill when Jenna walked in. Lyra wasn't sure how to go about introducing herself without sounding like a crazy person. Luckily for her, Teddy was super cute and people noticed that.
"Oh my gosh! He is adorable" Jenna exclaims, walking to a booth near Lyra.
Smiling, she replies, "Thank you. Would you like to join us" Seeing the no in Jennas expression, "I'm sorry. We just moved here and I'm trying to get to know more people"
Smiling, Jenna sits. "I understand, I'm Jenna Sommers"
"Lyra Black, this little gentleman is Teddy Lupin Black. He's my godson" she can see the question in Jennas eyes, "I'm his sole guardian. His parents passed"
"I'm so sorry" Jenna sympathizes, "I completely understand. My sister and her husband passed and left me as the guardian of my niece and nephew"
They sit and talk about different things before Teddy decides he's finished. "Sorry, he's ready to run" Lyra says to Jenna, getting Teddy out of his seat. Looking back to Jenna, "Could I possibly have your number? It was nice having someone who knows, to talk to"
Jenna nods, "Of course. You and Teddy should come by tomorrow. I'm having a cookout with some friends, and you can meet them. Of course, be sure to bring this cutie" she says, tapping a finger on Teddy's nose.

Lyra parked at the address Jenna had sent her, unbuckling Teddy they walk to the porch. She's about to knock on the door when she feels someone next to her. Looking over she spots Damon.
"What are you doing here witchy" he asks, smiling at Teddy.
"We met Jenna at the grill and she invited us" She then looks at him suspiciously, "What are you doing here fangs" Damon grins. When Teddy reaches out for him, Damon takes him and makes a face at him. Teddy tries to copy it. Lyra knocks on the door.
Jenna opens the door, spotting Lyra "Lyra" looking to Damon, her smile drops "Oh the poor boy doesn't know any better" she pulls Teddy from a shocked Damon. Turning she walks in with Lyra, who's trying to hold her laughter at his expression. Damon catches up to them.
"Shut it" he says and pushes her, of course he forgot she was tiny and had to catch her before she fell, "Sorry! You're so freaking tiny, I forgot" Lyra laughs at him.

Jenna had kept hold of Teddy for most of the cookout. Teddy was loving the attention. Damon would try to steal him but Jenna wouldn't give him up. When he needed a new diaper, Jenna handed him right over to Lyra. Laughing, Lyra took him upstairs to change him. Damon followed.
"Can you tell what Mason is" he whispers as he walks beside her.
Lyra glares, "No but I think you have an idea. Could you be any more obvious" she hisses, "Subtlety is a thing"
Damon rolls his eyes, "I think he's a werewolf. If he is then he needs to go" his body chilled at the look Lyra gave him.
"Did you forget, Teddy's father was a werewolf. Tread very very carefully" Lyra tells him.
Damon quickly backtracked, "I just mean that it is dangerous to let him hang around. Vampires can be killed by a werewolf's bite!" Damon says.
"Listen to me Damon. Do not do anything stupid that will cause problems with this wolf. Where there is one, there is others. Wolves travel in packs. Now take this to the trash" She hands him Teddys diaper and then carries her boy down to play more games.

The game of charades made Lyra want to smack Damon. She had determined he was a complete moron and would ignore her advice. Having enough, she stood. "Jenna, thank you so much for having us. I need to get this little guy home" Jenna hugs Teddy and finally hands him over.
Mason stands, "I need to be off too. I can walk you out" he tells Lyra. She's hesitant but nods. They get all the way to Lyra's car before Mason speaks, "Why does your son smell like wolf"
Lyra's back stiffens, "Excuse you" she hisses
"You heard me. Who's your sons father and why isn't the boy with a pack" Mason begins to crowd her.
Pissed, she pulls her magic to her, "Listen here you overgrown mutt. I was trying to help you but now you can fuck off" Lyra then threatens, "If you come anywhere near my son I will fucking end you" Mason is pushed back by her magic. She may be tiny but she was also a pissed off mama bear.
"You should watch who you trust around here. Not everyone is who they seem" Mason tells her. Lyra glares until he backs away. Getting in her SUV she drives off. When she's a good distance from the house she calls Damon.
"Miss me already. I know you think I'm sexy" Damon answers.
"Mason threatened Teddy and I" she replies.
"What" there's a pause and he continues, "What did he say" Lyra tells him everything, Damon replies, "I'm going to kill that wolf"
"Damon I didn't call for that. Thank you but I would just prefer you not cause a war between the wolves and vampires" Lyra tells him.
"Okay but call if you need me" Damon hangs up.

Damon made sure to check in with Lyra multiple times. The whole situation had her on edge because it sounded like Mason was going to make a big deal of finding out who her sons father was. When a couple of weeks went by and she hadn't heard anything of Mason, she thought he had finally left town. Damon also hadn't brought him up.
Lyra and Jenna had been getting closer and Teddy loved spending time with her. She knew it was time to tell her. Not only was she going to explain vampires and werewolves, but she was also going to tell her about herself and Teddy. Hopefully she wouldn't pull away from them when she found out the truth.
Bipsy had made dinner and was going to keep watch of Teddy while Lyra told Jenna. She was nervous but knew Jenna would be hurt if she wasn't warned of the dangers lurking. The knock on the door made Lyra jump. Shit. Here goes nothing.

Jenna didn't take the news well at all. Lyra couldn't blame her. The woman had just found out her family and boyfriend were all lying to her. Jenna thought Lyra was crazy when she told her about herself being a witch and not one that was normally found here. When Lyra turned the pillow into a bunny, Jenna froze.
"Why did they all lie to me" Jenna asked Lyra in a whisper.
Taking a deep breath to prepare herself, "They thought they were protecting you. I know from experience that people who keep secrets only get the innocent killed" Grabbing Jennas hand, she continues "Will you be okay if I have Bipsy bring Teddy down? I've taken the spells off his hair"
"Yeah, I could really use some cuddles from him" Jenna replies, jumping when Bipsy pops in with Teddy. She can only stare at the elf.
"Jenna, this is Bipsy. She's our nanny elf but she's like family" Lyra explains. Jenna watches amazed as Teddy's hair changes to match her own before switching to blue.
Luckily Teddy's presence calms Jenna enough for Lyra to continue talking. Telling her stories of Hogwarts and the war. Jenna is still mad at her family but she's happy Lyra told her. Lyra was happy she wasn't going to lose her friend.

A couple days after her talk with Jenna, Lyra got a phone call from Damon. When he asked if she could find a missing person, she had questions. Turns out, Elena was kidnapped after the party at the Lockwood's and the brothers were going to rescue her. Of course they were. Lyra told him if Bonnie couldn't help them, she would try.
When Damon came by later that night, he had told her what happened. Turns out, Elena was taken by two vampires who wanted to turn her over to an Original. Damon then told her what they had found out about the Sun and Moon curse. When he told her they killed an Original, Lyra was curious about that. As far as she knew, an Original couldn't be killed.
Damon took off because he wanted to check on Elena. Lyra needed to talk with him about having feelings for his brother's girlfriend. The guy is over one hundred years old, why was he acting like a teenager.
Lyra knew she needed to find out more about this curse. The Original she needed to help was the one the curse was on but Damon made it sound like it was the moonstone. She needed to find a way to get that information, luckily a phone call from Jenna was what was needed.

Lyra grabbed Teddy from his seat and walked up to knock on the door.
"Hey! There's my favorite little man" Jenna greets, taking Teddy from Lyra.
"I'm here as well" Lyra says to her, shutting the door behind her. "So, what did you need me to come over for"
"I have to meet with some writer today, he's writing about small towns. I didn't want to meet with him alone, I hope you don't mind I called" Jenna tells her.
"I understand" Lyra tells her, "So who's this writer and why here"
Jenna tells her about the book and when she mentions his name, Lyra remembers something.
"You said his name was Elijah Smith" Lyra asks, Jenna nods, "I know Smith is a very common last name but when we arrived at the airport, a man helped us. Elijah Smith. Jenna, if it's the same man, he's a vampire"
Jenna pales, "Maybe you should take Teddy back home. He shouldn't be around for this" Lyra disagrees and promises they will all be okay. Jenna's still unsure but Lyra feels that this Elijah Smith won't hurt them. What did he want though.

The knock on the door made Jenna jump. "That's him" she whispers to Lyra and hands Teddy back. As she heads to the door, Lyra double checks her spell on Teddy's hair. Hearing Jenna greet him, she walks over to join them.
"Elijah, this is my friend Lyra and her son Teddy" Jenna introduces. The look of surprise on his face makes Lyra smile.
"We've met. Jenna this is the gentleman who helped Teddy Bear and I out at the airport" Lyra says to Jenna. Looking back at Elijah, "Now see Jenna here is a good friend of mine. Should she be used in any games, well I would hate to mess up your handsome face" Lyra smiles to him.
Elijah looks taken aback. "I'm not sure I know of what you speak" he narrows his eyes at Lyra.
Lyra walks to the door, making sure not to step outside. "I know you're a vampire" she sees his eyes go to Jenna, "She knows. I told her. Innocents tend to die when they are left without knowledge. Now why don't we head out for a late lunch, and you can tell us what you really want".
Elijah stares at Lyra for a moment, "You're not goint to let me in" he smirks.
"Ha. Nope. Now I'm driving so let's go" Lyra answers.
"Save us all" Jenna mutters, laughing at the expression on Lyra's face, "You know you're a bad driver"
"Well sorry, I've only been driving for like six months" Lyra huffs and heads to the car, "For your comment, you can sit in the back"
Jenna smiles, "I would never turn down sitting with this handsome fella" she says, sliding in next to Teddy.
Once they're all in the car, Elijah finally speaks. "How do you know about me" he asks Lyra, then to Jenna, "And how does your niece not know that you know"
Lyra explains how she can sense a vampire and then why she told Jenna. "I know what secrets can cause and Jenna didn't deserve any of it"
They speak more about why Elijah is actually there. Lyra hits him with a spell, which shocks him and then she begins telling him about herself. It's a very informative car ride.
