Arriving back to the house, Klaus asked Jenna if he could speak with her. When she scoffed and walked away, he felt like he'd been hit.

Elijah walked over to his brother, "Give her time. She was kidnapped. She and her child were threatened. Niklaus, you have some groveling to do. You hurt her when she was nothing but honest with you." Klaus knew his big brother was right. Nodding, he was about to leave when Lyra approached.

"Nope, you're staying. Find your room and go to bed" Lyra told him, hands on her hips. Klaus smiled and told them both goodnight, heading off to find his room.

Elijah wrapped his arms around Lyra, "Let's check on our children and go to bed. I have a feeling the next few days are going to be long."

~~~~~~~
The ladies had decided to take the children out to find some beignets. Lyra and Luna had never had one and were almost as excited as the children. Lyra also wanted to explore some of the shops she had seen while they were out searching for Jenna. Speaking of her, she was holed up in her room, having made Lyra promise to bring back beignets.
Rebekah hadn't been to New Orleans for a very long time, but she told them that the quarter still looked mostly the same. Finding a cafe, they followed the amazing smells in.
Teddy was bouncing, pulling Lyra to the counter "Mommy, I want two! I'm a big brother so I eat a lot, like daddy!" Lyra laughed at the look in his eyes.
"How about you have one here and then we will take a bunch home. Daddy and Aunt Jenna would like some too" She told her son, moving him closer to Ellie, she said "Hold sissy's hand for me, so I can order". Teddy quickly moved to grab his sister's free hand. Both children waited patiently as their mother ordered two boxes of beignets and drinks.
Luna had found them a table and was helping Rebekah and Sage settle the children. Walking over, Lyra placed the boxes on the table and settled her children before going back for the drinks. Rebekah handed one out to each child and they all laughed when the kids dug in enthusiastically. Lyra and Luna quickly dug into their own.
"I think I'm in love" Lyra moaned, looking to Rebekah she asks "Do you think your brother would mind if I married the beignet instead". The women all laughed at her.
~~~~~~

After thoroughly cleaning the powder sugar off of the children, they were about to head out and explore. Lyra noticed when Rebekahs posture went tense, she quickly herded the children between them all.

"Shit", Rebekah muttered. Looking behind herself and seeing the kids safe, she braced for incoming. Luna and Lyra didn't know the man walking up to them, but they had an idea Rebekah did, and he wasn't a friend.

"Rebekah Mikaelson. You're the second original I've ran into." The man said, looking at the children and women behind Rebekah. Looking back to Rebekah, "Why is your family in my city".

Lyra glared as the man tried to move closer. Teddy and Marcus could sense the tension coming off their mothers. Marcus quickly moved to his mother's side and grabbed her hand, glaring at the man. Teddy growled and flashed his eyes when the man looked at his mother and sister.

"That's curious" Marcel moved to step closer when Rebekah stopped him.

"What do you want Marcel. My family and I are trying to enjoy our day. You're ruining it" she said, glaring.

Marcel was curious about the child but knew he wouldn't get answers. Looking to Rebekah, he asked "Why is your brother here".

Gathering her son up, watching Luna and Lyra do the same as Sage watched their backs, she glared at Marcel, "None of your business. Not everything my brother does has to do with you. Now you and your minions, MOVE".

Shockingly, Marcel moved and allowed them to pass. He watched as they left, carrying the children. The one boy glared as his mother carried him and his sister, flashing his eyes again. Marcel had only seen one other with eyes like that.

~~~~~~
Lyra had thought the witchy shops were hilarious. Death had scoffed at the items when she called him to look. Needing a souvenir, Lyra had purchased a little doll. Who knows, maybe she could get it to actually work.
Luna had fallen in love with a jewelry store. It honestly fit her tastes, it had the most random items on chains. She told the others that Kol was going to have to bring her back.
Elijah greeted them when they arrived back home. He looked curiously as his daughter carried a doll under her arm. He was positive that she was doting on a voodoo doll like any other child would their favorite toy.
Lyra smiled at his expression, handing over the box of beignets, "Don't worry, it's fake. I did get one that I'm hoping to figure out a way to make it work".
Shaking his head, Elijah followed Lyra to the kitchen. "Klaus finally groveled enough that Jenna is actually speaking to him. They've been in her room talking for about an hour."
Nodding, Lyra was about to mention the man that had approached them but Rebekah beat her to it.
"Elijah, we were approached by Marcellus. He was asking questions" Rebekah told him.
Elijah's back stiffened and he looked over everyone, "He didn't try anything did he". Elijah didn't like the thought of someone trying to intimidate his family.
They told him about the questions Marcel had asked. Rebekah added, "He was surprised at the children, and Lyra and Luna. I think we need to be on guard. I don't trust him, Elijah."
Agreeing, Elijah decided to get Niklaus and Jenna so they could all talk. Kol was standing with Luna, checking over the twins while Finn and Sage were talking with Jeremy. Elijah knew his brother had been trying to talk with Marcel and now they needed to know why.
~~~~~~

When Klaus finally came downstairs and heard what had happened, he decided that a talk with Marcel was in order. No one would get away with threatening his family. Lyra had taken care of the witches last night, the one in the basement would be dealt with when she was unlinked from Jenna.

Klaus had spent the night before thinking. He knew Jenna wasn't lying, he had been an ass for the way he reacted. Realizing it was fear that caused him to lash out, he had spent the whole morning groveling. When Jenna finally opened the door, after he had spent two hours begging through it, he made sure to repeat it all to her face.

Elijah, Klaus, Kol and Finn had decided they were going to approach Marcel. The fact that he had tried to intimidate women and children, well that showed he had no respect for his betters. To try and get answers from them and then posture like he would attack, that was unacceptable. No one was allowed to mess with their family.

~~~~~~
Klaus knew where Marcel would be. He had been collecting information on him before Jenna was taken. The Original brothers walked into the Abattoir like they owned the place. Technically they did. This had been their home when they had last lived in New Orleans.
Music was blaring, people dancing and drinking. Vampires were drinking from humans out in the open. Elijah was disgusted by these young vampires. They had no tact. It seemed to him, Marcel thought he was untouchable.
Once they had reached the center courtyard, the music cut off. Every eye was locked on the group of four. Everyone knew how rare it was for all of the siblings to be together, usually it meant trouble.
Marcel walked to the edge of the balcony and looked down, "Well, look here. It seems like the whole Mikaelson family is in town. Did Rebekah run and tell you that I seen her earlier. It seems you've been keeping secrets Klaus."
Klaus stepped forward, "When you stoop so low as to try and intimidate women and children, well I see that as a sign of a weak man. A weak leader. Our sister did tell us that you bothered her earlier while they were exploring the city."
"My city. They were exploring my city, and I don't recall ever giving you permission to do so" Marcel called out.
Elijah stepped next to his brother, "You made a mistake" seeing the surprise on Marcels face, "Those women and children are under our protection. You have no right to threaten them. Did you think we wouldn't find out".
Marcel turned back to Klaus, "I find it interesting that you of all people are worried about children" pausing, he steps down the stairs and adds "Unless you have a connection to them. Tell me Klaus, are you the father?"
Finn and Kol tensed, Elijah grabbed Klaus by the shoulder. Klaus simply grinned at Marcel and replied, "Ha. No, not the father but a very protective uncle. Honestly, I would be more afraid of their fathers. I'm not the only unstable one in the family" smirking to Elijah, Klaus snorts and says, "Although their mothers may be worse".
Kol outright laughed while Finn and Elijah snorted. They all knew, though they look delicate, the women would kill first and ask questions later. They were the definition of mama bears.
Marcel didn't like the way this conversation was going. Getting back to the point, he looked to Klaus "Why is your family in my city? Last time I seen you, all of you were running for your lives with your father on your tails".
Klaus smirked, "Our father is very dead, as is our mother" looking to the vampires surrounding them, "I had only come to town for a break. Now, I think we may stay for a while."
Marcel stiffened, "I rule this city now. I have control of the witches, have kicked the werewolves to the Bayou and the vampires follow my lead. I'm the king! If you plan to stay, you will follow my rules"
Elijah had always wondered if anyone could be more self-important than Niklaus. Marcel just answered that question. He knew his brother wouldn't let this go, especially with the witch linked to Jenna and their child.
Klaus smiled coldly, "And do tell, Marcellus. How is it you have the witches and werewolves under control? I know that if a witch doesn't want to follow a vampire, they don't. Is it just the fear of your weapon that keeps them under your thumb?" Walking closer to Marcel, Klaus whispers "If that weapon is destroyed, you're the first the witches and wolves will retaliate against".
Trying to hide his worry, Marcel smiles at them "Well, I guess it's a good thing my weapon is hidden from them".
Elijah knew Marcel was scared. This weapon was the only reason he held power and they needed to find it. Luckily, they had two amazing ladies who could find it."
~~~~~~~

Elijah and Kol headed back to the house, they needed to be with their families. Elijah knew they couldn't leave while Jenna was still linked, and he hadn't realized how much he had missed New Orleans. Lyra really seemed to like it here as well, she told him it reminded her of Diagon Alley before the war. He knew she didn't miss Britain but missed what it was like before the war and destruction.

All of the children had decided to sleep in one room. They loved having sleepovers and to them, this trip allowed for an extended sleepover. Elijah and Kol checked on their children before looking for the others. Entering the kitchen, they realized why they hadn't heard them, someone had put up a silencing spell.

Lyra spotted Elijah as soon as he entered, she quickly moved to check him. 'How did it go? Did you find out anything?"

"Marcel seems to have a weapon that allows him to control the witches and banish the werewolves to the Bayou" Elijah told them.

Rebekah looked between her brothers, "Perhaps we should question the witch. If she knows what this weapon is, we could remove it".

Everyone looked to Jenna, making sure she was okay with them bringing the witch in. Nodding her head, they headed off to grab her.

~~~~~~
Kol had done the honors of collecting their guest. Sitting her in the chair before the others, Lyra hit her with a reviving spell. The woman could only stare at them. Luna had silenced her so she couldn't do any spells or try to escape.
Elijah took point on questioning, Lyra still wanted to kill her, so she wasn't allowed. "What is your name" Luna removed her spell, none of them had even thought to ask her anything before now. They just made sure she was safe in their protection.
"Sophie Deveraux" she told them.
"Do you know what Marcel's weapon is" Elijah asked. He knew he wasn't the only one listening to her heartbeat, they would be able to tell if she lied.
Sophie started the story at the beginning, when they were picking the girls for the harvest. Telling the people before her about Davina, how she was supposed to finish it and never did. How Marcel took her and hid her. Kol was listening but he had questions. Why did they go this route, and how did Marcel control this young witch.
"So, if we take out this witch, Marcel loses his power. Easy" Klaus said, flinching at the glares he received.
"Luna and I will find her. I think she'll be less likely to help if any of you go for her" Lyra said, still glaring at Klaus. Looking to Kol, she asks, "Can you look up this harvest bull and see if there is anything we can do about it" Kol nodded, ignoring Sophie's protests.
Having a plan, they knocked Sophie back out and called it a night.
