The Stadium erupted in excitement. Everywhere in the stadium, from the booths, to the stands, to the backstage, it was filled with excitement as this was one in life time opportunity to watch this legendary duel.

From what they have heard, this will be the match of the Strongest Duelist in the History of Duel Monsters against a duelist of whose strength was rumoured to be on par or even above that of the first ever King Of Games. It was not to be trifled with as even a rumour like that can bring in a lot of people together from different Dimensions to even different timelines as a whole. This has brought attention to everyone.

How was this even possible?

It was thanks to Seto Kaiba, the legendary duelist who was known for using the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, the user of one of the Legendary Dragons, The Fang of Critias, and the previous owner of the Egyptian God known as Obelisk The Tormentor, who tested out several simulations and tests on who might very be the greatest duelist that has ever walked and there were only two candidates.

"Oi, Kaiba," Seto turned his attention to the people that sat right next to him, "Mind telling us why you brought thousands of duelists in this stadium?" asked Joey Wheeler, the legendary duelist that wielded the Red-Eyes Black Dragon and one of the Legendary Dragons, The Claw of Hermos. Next to him was Tea Gardner, Tristan Taylor and Duke Devlin. Sitting next to Seto was his younger brother, Mokuba Kaiba.

"To answer your question, Wheeler, I wanted to see who was the strongest duelist in every set of the world. Dimension, timeline, future and even alternative timelines," explained Seto as they almost knew who he was talking about, "And in almost all of them, Yugi was the one that came out on top as the True King of Games, no matter who he fought, but there is one duelist that might change all of it."

"Might? You mean to tell us that there is someone that might beat Yugi?" asked Tea in shock as Seto narrowed his eyes.

"There is a possibility." answered Seto.

"Man, oh man, I am so stoked to see this!" yelled Jaden Yuki as around him was his friend group: Bastion Misawa, Alexis Rhodes, Chazz Princeton, Syrus Truesdale and Aster Phoenix, "Can you guys believe that we are going to see a duel with Yugi and a guy from a different Dimension."

"Normally, I would call shenanigans of seeing someone from a Different Dimension dueling someone, but considering what happened in our final year," Bastion rubbed his forehead, "I think that is very plausible."

"I know right? I felt like I was on drugs." said Chazz as he leaned back on his chair.

"That goes along with the rest of our school life." said Alexis as she still can't comprehend a man becoming Tarzan over some sandwich.

"True that." said Aster as he never thought he would experience something like The Light in his life. Syrus could only nod.

"This should be exciting," said Yusei Fudo as he leaned back on his chair with a cup of coffee in his hands. "Won't it?" asked Yusei as he looked to see Team 5ds with him: Akiza Izinski, Jack Atlas, Crow Hogan, Leo and Luna.

"I am still wondering who might be the one that King Of Games will duel." Akiza wondered about that fact.

Jack frowned, "It should have been me. What other duelist might be as great as me?"

"I don't know," Crow looked at his foster brother, "Maybe the guy you couldn't beat?" asked Crow with a smirk on his face. Leo and Luna snickered about that while Akiza and Yusei barely compressed their laughs.

"Aww heck yes! This will be a duel to remember by!" yelled Yuma Tsukumo as he damn near jumped out of the Stadium. The people around him were his friends: Tori Meadows, Reginald 'Shark' Kaslte and Kite Tenjo as Astral appeared behind him.

"A Duel of the Strongest? It is interesting to see who might be considered the strongest if they are willing to fight The King of Games himself." said Astral with crossed arms.

"They have to be tough if you guys aren't here." said Tori which made Kite nod in agreement at hearing that.

"I know right? How tough is the guy? Or gal? Or being." said Shark as he crossed his legs, wondering who will be representing the strongest of today.

"This will be awesome, I can just tell!" yelled Yuya Sakaki as there were visions of Yuto, Yugo and Yuri behind him as he spoke. Right next to him were Zuzu Boyle, as the rest of Ray's fragments were behind her in interest, Declan Akaba, Gong Strong and Sylvio Sawatari.

"This will not be entertaining, but informative as it may lead to a new discovery of the game and it's rules." said Declan as he pushed up his glasses in interest.

"Who was the smart guy that designed this thing? Obviously I should be the one that duels him," said Sylvio as they looked at him, "I will be the main attraction of the duel."

"Oh yeah you will… as a start up of the real duel." said Zuzu as Sylvio then slumped down to the chair.

"Meanie."

Then, on the final row, there were 4 people in the stand watching this duel. They were: Cal Kolter, Theodore Hamilton, Skye Zaizen and Ryoken Kogami. "It appears as though he will be dueling against the King Of Games." said Skye with an interested look on her face.

"Yup, but I am sure that bud can handle this. I mean, he handled Ai all on his own, he can handle this." said Kolter as Theodore frowned.

"Yeah, but… do you think he might win? I don't think he is a bad duelist, heck, he is the best duelist I know, but do you think he can win against him?" asked Theodore as Ryoken crossed his arms.

"There is a strong possibility that he would win. If he can handle the Knights of Hanoi, Bohman, Ai and even me, he can handle him." said Ryoken as they looked down.

"Well… we are about to see if he can beat the King Of Games." said Skye as the duel is coming.

An announcer walked to the stage, "Ladies and gentlemen! I welcome you to the first ever Dimensional Duel sponsored by Kaiba Corporations itself! In this one duel, we will have a match that I am sure that no one will ever forget in their life. This match was brought into the question of one thing. Will the King Of Games ever be surpassed? Well, in this duel, we will have a match of The Strongest of Today against the Strongest in History! So, let me hear it, are you ready?" the cheers erupted, "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

"YES!" the crowd cheered as some kept their composure.

"That is what I wanted to hear! Now, let's get to our left!" began the announcer as he pointed to the left.

(A/N: Play Pokemon Sword And Shield - Champion Battle Theme.)

"On our left is the duelist that shaped Destiny itself! The duelist that has saved the world through countless endeavors. He wields the Legendary Dragon Timaeus and even the Egyptian God Cards listen to his orders. He defeated through countless duels that no one else could even comprehend. Meet the Duelist Kingdom Champion, The King of Games! Yugi Muto!" yelled the announcer as the duelist walked through the arena.

The man was a tall man with shining purple eyes. His hair was recognizable by anyone. At the front it was piercing golden coloured as the back it was like that of a star with the edges being purple and the main base being black. He had a black choker, with a chain of a puzzle piece. He had leather straps on his biceps with several leather belts on his hips. He wore a blue leather jacket as he wore a sleeveless black leather shirt. He wore dark blue leather pants with black shoes.

Yugi, or how his friends know him as Yami Yugi, walked through the stadium with the Battle City duel disk on his arm. He walked down with a smirk on his face as the cheers went crazy.

"GO YUGI!"

"You can do it!"

"We believe in you!"

"GO GET 'EM, YUG!"

"YOU ARE AMAZING!"

Yami smiled at the words that he heard all across the stadium as even through Space and Time, his legacy can never be forgotten even after he went through many and many hardships in his life as a duelist. Even after using the Seal of Orichalcos, he was still able to bring back the trust, love and respect from the people he cared about.

"Partner," around Yami appeared a smaller version of him that was Yugi Muto, "Thank you for allowing me to participate in this duel."

"Of course, Pharaoh, this is something that I couldn't accomplish without you, so I think you should be the one that duels our opponent." said Yugi with a smile on his face as Yami had a smile on his face.

"I will make sure that I will give him the most of what I can do. Especially after getting a lot of new cards for our duel." Yami thought as he looked straight ahead as he could see a little part of his opponent and narrowed his eyes. "This boy… he seems like someone that I should not underestimate in the slightest."

The announcer then smiled at Yami Yugi himself was right in front of him, but he suppressed his emotions in a way to not show any bias. "Even though he is the King of Games himself, however," they all looked at him, "We should not show any bias towards him, now shall we? Because this challenger, this duelist will give the King Of Games himself a run of his money, so let's introduce him!"

(A/N: End Theme, but play Jiren's Theme.)

"On our right is the duelist that shaped the entire digital world by himself. He is the wielder of the most amount of Summoning Methods a duelist could ever have as his signature one is out of this world! He is the one that saved the digital world from the Knights of Hanoi, he stopped a war against advanced AIs that would have wiped humanity and even stopped the Apocalypse! He is the Hero Of Link VRAINS, give it up for Playmaker!" the announcer roared to the arena as then they all saw the challenger.

He was a slightly tall looking boy. He had a slim physique to what they must have thought, but his appearance was shocking. Playmaker had green eyes with multicoloured hair. The back was red while on the front it was a spiky golden coloured with purple highlights. His uniform was thin and skin tight. It was dark green up to his neck and down to his feet, as there were parts of the uniform where it was black as what separates it was yellow linings. He had a gray belt. His duel disk looked like the Battle City one, but the place where the cards went was completely gone.

What shocked everyone was not his appearance, but the energy he brought into the arena as every step felt like someone that was skillful with his deck and knew what he had to do in this duel. His eyes weren't that of a teenagers, but rather it was like that of an experienced soldier that went through wars. As even the way he swayed his arms showed no room for jokes.

This was not a child or a duelist. This was basically a soldier.

Kolter smiled, "Oh hey, looks like we were on the right money."

"That's great to hear, but why would he agree to this? Yusaku isn't the type of person to accept a duel like this." said Theodore as he tried to remember a single time he went out accepting a duel that was just for fun.

"That… is a good point." said Skye, "I don't even know why he would even accept this? He must have a choice to decline this offer, but… He didn't… why is that?" asked Skye as Ryoken crossed his arms.

"I think I know why." they all turned to Ryoken.

"You do?" asked Skye.

Ryoken nodded, "It must have been something personal and by that I mean…" he narrowed his eyes, "It has to be around Ai." They widened their eyes hearing that as that… was the only acceptable answer to why he even joined in the first place.

Playmaker then looked at his wrist and he saw it to glow purple. He smiled, "Looks like he kept his word."

Yami raised an eyebrow hearing that. "Pardon?"

Playmaker turned to the King Of Games, "With all due respect, but I didn't come here for a duel." That single sentence made almost everyone gasp.

(A/N: End Theme.)

"What!?" Jaden jumped out of his seat, "He didn't come here to duel Yugi? I am sorry, huh?! That doesn't make any sense!" For the first time in his life, everyone agreed with Jaden at what he said. Challenging the King of Games is something that every single duelist dreams of and here he is, here not because of the idea of dueling him.

It was… extremely unexpected.

Yami blinked, "Never thought I would hear those words before, but can I ask?" Playmaker nodded, "Why did you come here if you didn't come here for a duel?"

Playmaker sighed, "It is… because of a friend of mine I wanted to see."

Everyone stopped as they looked at him.

Kite narrowed his eyes, "A friend?"

Joey, Mokuba, Tristan, Tea and Duke all turned to Seto once they heard that.

"A friend you say?" Playmaker nodded.

"That is right, I was reached out by Seto Kaiba so I could duel you. At first, I declined the offer, but after a couple of exchanges and after he heard what happened to my friend, we came to an agreement." Playmaker looked at his duel disk as it was shining purple, "He gets revived and I duel you."

Yami glanced at Seto and had a small smile on his laugh, "Your friend must mean a lot to you if you decided to duel me for him, huh?" asked Yami as Playmaker nodded at that, "It is good to know that you treasure your friend to the point that you would accept a challenge."

"Thank you, Yugi." said Playmaker, "I will make sure that this is will be worthwhile. I know that no matter what happens in this duel…" Playmaker raised his hand in the air as then his duel disk, "...I am happy that he is back." As then a bright purple light erupted the arena which caused everyone, sans Yami and Playmaker, to cover their eyes from the light.

Once the light died down everyone saw what came out of the light with wide eyes.

Kolter, Skye and Theodore all had massive smiles on their faces as they saw who it was as even Ryoken had a small smirk on his face.

It was a small cybernetic being with black skin, as his head was in a shape of a note. He had shiny orange eyes with purple markings all around the being's body as the shape of his shoes were that of a clown. The being opened his eyes and shook his head, "Huh? What happened? Ai'm back?" then it turned around to see his Origin's smile on his face, "Playmaker? Meatbag? What the heck happened to me?" asked the small being.

"Ai… you are back." said Playmaker with a smile on his face that it was honestly one of the purest smiles they have seen.

"Huh? Of course Ai'm back, what did you expect? Although the last thing I remember is you beating me with that Trap card in your graveyard and me dying in your arms… Why am I so smol?" asked Ai as he looked around the area to see the shocked expressions of everyone watching as he then saw the opponent, "And why are we… IS THAT THE KING OF GAMES?! IS HE YOUR OPPONENT?!"

"He is back!" cheered Theodore.

"Oh thank goodness, I didn't want him to feel bad." Kolter smiled at that.

"I am so happy that at least… one of them are still alive." Skye frowned as she remembered that even though Ai may be alive, the other Ignis aren't.

"Still, the fact that he is alive could lead to a better future." said Ryoken with crossed arms as hearing him talk about how he finally accepts the Ignis as partners shows that he has changed.

"YOU ARE NOT ANSWERING ME! WHY IS HE THERE!?" yelled Ai.

"Ai… I was challenged to duel him in exchange for your life." explained Playmaker as Ai stopped freaking out as he looked at his Origin.

"You- You really did all of this for me?" asked Ai as Playmaker nodded.

"That's right, I never stopped looking around for you, I never stopped thinking about you Ai. I wanted you to live no matter what, and if it meant dueling against the strongest duelist in history, then so be it." said Playmaker as Ai looked at him with one of the genuine looks of gratitude anyone has ever seen.

"What the heck is that?" asked Tristan as he looked down at Playmaker's wrist.

"It isn't a Duel Spirit…" Yubel appeared next to Jaden.

"That isn't a part of the Crimson Dragon nor an Earthbound Immortal." Yusei squinted his eyes as the rest of Team 5ds tried to look at Ai.

"It isn't an Astral being nor a Barian…" Astral appeared right next to Yuma.

"I don't even think that is a different person." said Yuri as around him appeared Yugo and Yuto.

Meanwhile, with Yami, he had a smile on his face. A proud look on his face as beside him appeared Yugi, "It seems we aren't the only ones that have a deep bond with our partner, huh Pharaoh?" asked Yugi as Yami shook his head.

"It appears so, Partner." thought Yami as he looked at Playmaker, "Before we start, can I ask… what is that small being on your wrist? I am curious since it is an almost never before seen being anyone has ever seen."

Playmaker raised his duel disk and Ai alongside with it, "This is an Ignis. It is an AI with a free will created in an experiment that could better guide humanity. I am this Ignis' Origin and he is the last of his kind."

"I say, an AI with a free will? That could lead to several new discoveries that can better hope the future of dueling and humanity as a whole. I am interested at the source code it was used for because it would be useful for future developments." Declan crossed his legs as he leaned in, interested in what is about to happen.

"He better be happy that I got the code for his friend because that shit was hard to find." Seto sighed as he remembered how many all nighters he took to get the right algorithm to get the revival process of the Ignis.

"I see… Well, I think the time for chatting is over, they haven't come here for a talk, did they?" asked Yami as Playmaker nodded.

"I understand." He then turned to Ai, "Are you ready, Ai?"

Ai sighed, "Nope, but hey, if we can beat Varis and Bohman, with you beating me, then you can beat this bozo. So let's go!" Ai pumped his fists.

Playmaker and Yami looked at each other as they nodded to each other.

Yami Yugi, representing the Strongest in History.

Playmaker, representing the Strongest of Today.

Both will duel in match of the Century.

"DUEL!" both of them roared at the same time.

Playmaker: 4000 lp

Yami: 4000 lp

TO BE CONTINUED!

Authors Note:

So… anyone else expected this to happen? So in short, why am I doing this? Because I wanted to try and write a long Playmaker duel because that boy needs some love in fics. I decided to pick Yami for this as I wanted to kind of mimic Gojo Versus Sukuna as both of them represent the strongest in their own way. I thought about Jaden (Which I did plan the entire duel for) but I wanted to try something new.

This is my first time writing Yami so please don't be mean with me, any constructive criticism is all good with me!

Yami's deck of choice will be a mix of everything he has ever played + the Dark Magician Support that I plan on giving him in this bout, but without his old Trap and Spell support with a few ones that I decided to keep. Playmaker on the other hand will have a full on Cyberse Deck with a monster that he used once that helped him out in his final duel. There will be cards that he has never played before as I think he would play them if VRAINS went out a bit longer.

How long will this take? I dunno. The duel has 21 Turns, I have no life lol, so it will take a while. I plan on splitting this into a 3 parter, not including this chapter, so I don't have a heart attack as I fully believe that this whole duel will be like 60k words.

The release date will be… something. I do plan on writing as much as I can for this duel + my VRAINS, GX and Black Clover stories. They will be out when it is done.

I hope you have a good time and peace out!
