I do not own anything when it comes to any of the Balder's Gates. I am just someone who enjoys Balder's Gate 3.

Story notes:

-Kasumi: She is my Tav from my first playthrough of BG3. She is a wood elf with light green skin and blue/pink braided hair. She is a life cleric with her, and her lover is Astarion. Astarion WAS NOT ascended in this playthrough. So he is a little nice…LOL

Chapter 1

The sun came in through the curtains onto Halsin's sleeping face. Moments later, his green eyes opened big. He turned to find a male half elf wrapped in his arms. Memories of last night came back, and a smile crossed his face. Their long blonde hair was all over the place as they were curled up to Halsin. Oh the night they had was amazing. It had been awhile for him. With all the work to rebuild the once cursed lands, he hadn't taken care of his needs properly. Last night was much needed pleasure. Halsin leaned down and kissed the half elf's head then got out of bed. He put on his pants before he opened the window. He made sure the light did not wake his partner. "Great Oak Father," he said as he put his hands into a prayer position. Then he closed his eyes and put his head down. "Thank you for all you have done to the community. Each day we grow stronger as a community thanks to your blessings. Thank you for helping Thaniel quickly. He seems to have no side effects from the shadow curse. Please continue to guide me as I continue to help make the community stronger. I understand we have a long road ahead of us. Thank you for all your blessings Great Oak Father." Halsin opened his eyes as he placed his hands on the window sill. Looking down, people in the community were starting to stir. Shops were beginning to open. Children were playing on their way to the school building. People were talking as they headed to their destination.

After the shadow curse was lifted, a lot had to be done. Buildings were rebuilt. Rotten food and objects crushed and placed throughout the lands. Half of the crates were broken down and the wood used for other things such as fences, tools, building walls, and anything else they could think of. Other barrels and crates were used to transport items back and forth between towns. The few unusable crates and barrels were burned far from the community. The ashes were spread around the area. Yes. Their little community was strong, and growing stronger each day. Halsin could not be happier with the progress they had made. After stepping down as archdruid, he made it his mission to help as many of the refugees from Balder's Gate as possible. Some refused his help while others made permanent home here. Aside from the refugees, he had help from his friends. Wyll, Karlach, Gale, and Shadowheart had particularly been helpful. Astarion and Kasumi tried to be helpful, but it was hard for them during the day. Instead, Kasumi usually is in the basement prepping food. Halsin wasn't sure what Astarion did down there, and Kasumi never says. Halsin got an idea of what he was doing and chuckled to himself.

"What's so funny?"

Halsin turned back behind him to see his partner standing behind him. He couldn't take his eyes off him as he walked over and hugged him. "Last night was amazing," he stated.

Halsin smiled. "Glad you enjoyed it."

"Was it good for you as well?"

"Oh yes." The half-elf looked up at him and smiled. He only went up to the middle of Halsin's chest. After a minute, he went to get dressed. Halsin watched as if in a trance. Oak Father had truly blessed him with the half-elf. He came with the group of refugees, and had chosen to stay. He had helped Halsin a lot with the others and they grew closer. They were not official, but everyone knew they were together. "How did you sleep?" Halsin asked as he went to make some breakfast.

"Wonderful. You wore me out," he said. Halsin gathered some eggs from the refrigerator as well as the front. He cooked them a meal while the half-elf got dressed. He set the plates down on the table as the half-elf came to sit down. After another blessing to the Oak Father, they began to eat. Halsin made sure he got enough to eat while he ate a lot himself. No matter how much he ate, he never gained any fat. Probably because of all the work he was doing around the land. Once the food was finished then he cleaned up. The half-elf went up to him, wrapped his arms around his waist, and kissed his back.

"Will I see you again tonight?" he asked.

"If the Oak Father wields it," he responded. "But the chances look good." The half-elf smiled. He stood on his tip toes and kissed Halsin's chest. Halsin smiled, bent down, and kissed him on the lips. The half-elf wrapped his arms around his neck as Halsin lifted him up, closer. In moments the kiss became deeper. Halsin was starting to take his partner back to the bedroom when there was a knock on the door. Halsin placed the half-elf down and went to answer the door. Kasumi stood there with a smile.

"Morning Halsin. I am here to help," she said.

"No Astarion? Is he feeling ok?"

"Yes. He went to visit his brothers and sisters in the Underdark today," she said. "He also took some supplies down to them. He will be gone for a few days. So I figured I would stay here with you."

Halsin smiled as he said, "Of course my friend. However, now is not a good time…" Kasumi peered past Halsin and saw the male half-elf. A grin grew on her face.

"Never mind. I will stay at a hotel. Bye Halsin!" She ran off before he could say anything. Halsin shook his head as he shut the door. The male half-elf wasted no time jumping on Halsin and kissing him deeply again. Halsin caught him and welcomed the kisses as he carried him back to his room. Guess they had time for another round…or two. Immediately, clothes began to come off. Once Halsin's shirt went over his head, something happened. The person in front of him was no longer the male half-elf. Instead, there laid a male moon elf. His pale skin laid on his back, looking up at Halsin with his two color eyes. The left eye was green with gold flecks while the other eye was blue with gold flecks. His long dark blue hair with silver streaks was spread out on the bed. He propped himself up on his elbows and flashed his white teeth up at Halsin. Halsin immediately stood up and rubbed his eyes. The moon elf was gone and in his place was the half-elf.

"Halsin, are you ok?" the half-elf asked as he got up. "You look like you saw a ghost."

Halsin nod as he replied, "Yes. I am fine. I am sorry for frightening you." He hugged him and kissed his head. "Maybe we should continue this later." The male half-elf nod in agreement. Both men got dressed in silence. The male half-elf smiled a little and said he would see him later. Before he left, Halsin gently took his hand and gave him a kiss on the lips. The half-elf kissed him back deeply before he left. Halsin watched as he left. Then he locked up and headed out. Today's goal was to finish the church. There had been a lot of setbacks from supplies going missing to other crazy things. If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he might not have believed it. Children, both human and tiefling, ran past him laughing. It was so refreshing to see them getting along. It was a rough transition, but with patience and time things come together. Sometimes it was hard to believe their little town was coming together so fast. Seems like a dream.

Speaking of dreams, what happened this morning? Why did Keisin come to his mind? He hadn't seen him since before the shadow curse…and things didn't necessarily end well between them. This wasn't the time to think about him. He had someone new: Mythan. Mythan would be hurt if he knew that he had thought about an ex lover while with him. Anyone in their right mind would be upset. Still…it would be nice to know how Keisin is doing. Was he still traveling with that musical group? Had he settled down and found a place? Did he have…a lover? It would be nice to see him again and just catch up. They used to be close after all. Halsin let out a laugh. While it would be nice, it wouldn't happen.

He arrived at the church and saw people already working, including Kasumi. She was giving orders of where everyone was supposed to be. Being a cleric herself, he let her take charge. She did seek input from any future parishioners as well as any leaders of the church. Based on what she shared with him, her plan was good. A huge plan with a lot of work, but it would be worth it. Kasumi spotted Halsin and waved him over. She talked to him about the schedule for the day before they got to work.

Just before the sun set, the church was completed finally. Tomorrow, Kasumi planned on doing a big celebration for it. She got everyone excited before they went home to their families. "It feels great to see hard work pay off," she commented to Halsin. "I will see if Astarion can join us tomorrow."

"Do you have your ascension stone?" Halsin asked.

Kasumi nod. "Of course. Astarion has become more protective recently since I'm pregnant. It's sweet." At first, Halsin hadn't heard her. Then his brain started to work and he looked at her excited.

"Congratulations. How is that even possible with Astarion being a vampire?"

"I don't know and I don't care. All that is important is he is excited for the baby," she smiled and rubbed her stomach.

"The Oak Father works in mysterious ways," he commented. Kasumi nodded in agreement as she rubbed her stomach. "Do you know how far along?"

"Maybe two months," she said. "Kind of hard to tell honestly. I want to see Nettie while I am here. I have to wait for Astarion though." Halsin nodded in agreement. Wow. His friend, one time partner, was pregnant with her mate's baby. Miracles do happen. It was kind of hard to picture who the baby will take after. Will the baby be born a vampire? Will the baby be an elf? Will it require blood or food? So many questions he had. Questions he was sure Kasumi herself had thought about with Astarion. It seems they would be trading one adventure for another. "How are you and your lover?" she asked grinning.

Before Halsin could answer, a woman in her mid 50s came running over breathless. "Oh good I found you Halsin. Thalia and Kyreus have not returned home yet. We are worried they may have gotten lost." Halsin nodded and kept his composure. He knew he had to remain calm for the mother.

"Can you tell me where they were last seen?" he asked as he followed her back to her home. The woman gave as much information as she could. Once at the house, Halsin requested an item that belonged to Thalia so that he could get her scent. That way when he could transform into a wolf to find her. The woman gave him the girl's doll. Halsin smelled the item then went outside to transform into a wolf. Kasumi had him smell the doll once more before handing it back to the old woman. She told the old woman they would find her and started to follow Halsin as he took off. Halsin's only focus was on saving the kids. He would travel all night to find them and bring them back safe.

I hope you enjoyed the chapter.
