When Shara – still in full armor and dragging the corpse of the Andalite captain she'd been forced to kill – came back into the Andalite ship with the rest of them, Jake made sure that he was there to meet her. Cassie was right there with him, of course, but considering what had just happened, Jake had been pretty much expecting it.

"Are you all right?" Cassie asked, before Jake could say anything.

"I'm fine," Shara said warmly, tilting her armored head at Cassie, before turning her attention to him. "So, what do we do next?"

(We're going to be meeting up with the Force Commander,) Captain Hareli – who'd been promoted to take over from Samilin, once he'd revealed himself as a traitor and Slade and Shara had taken him captive – said, coming up to where the three of them were standing. (I would also request that you turn over the former captain's corpse, Shara.)

"I suppose," Shara said, turning as another pair of Andalites came over to where she was standing, holding a colorful cloth between them.

Shara handed the corpse over, and the pair of Andalites gently wrapped it up and took it out of sight. Shara transformed back, before Jake could make that kind of suggestion, and Captain Hareli offered them quarters in the ship. The quarters that used to be his, since he'd taken over Samilin's when he'd been promoted to Captain, and they were at least big enough for all of them to be comfortable.

"Okay Ax, we're all headed for the leader of the Andalite forces here," he said, settling down on the grassy floor of the room they'd all been brought to. "What can you tell me about him?"

(Force Commander Galuit-Enilon-Esgarrouth lost his entire family to a Yeerk raid on an Andalite outpost. His wife and three children died rather than allow themselves to be captured, and their bodies were fed to Taxxons. Truly, Prince Galuit has a great deal in common with you and Slade, Shara.)

"Seems like it," Shara said, arms folded as she leaned against the far wall between Slade and Cassie. "Is there anything else we should know?"

(According to everything I know about the Leerans, their psychic abilities are something of a more limited version of your own telepathic abilities,) Ax continued.

But, before Ax could say anything else about the Leerans, the door to Captain Hareli's old quarters opened silently, revealing the new Captain and that other Andalite who'd been examining them while they'd been in the infirmary. One of them, anyway.

(We've launched our complement of ground-attack fighters,) Captain Hareli said. (The rest of us are going to be meeting up with Force Commander Galuit. All of the rest of us.)

"All right," he said, standing up as the rest of his friends and fellow Animorphs all gathered up around him.

As much as Captain Hareli didn't impress him any more than Captain Samilin had, he at least seemed to have had some of what seemed to be the typical arrogance that every Andalite Jake had met – with the notable exception of Elfangor – knocked out of him by what had happened to Samilin. So, Jake was more willing to follow Captain Hareli's lead than he would have otherwise been.

There was also the fact that Slade was with him, even with as intense as the older boy could be in their defense.
