Notes:

Hey Everyone! Zancrowe Here!

Thank you so much for reading my Soma x Erina fanfiction Classique, sequel to my other Sorina / Soueri fanfiction Nouvelle!

STOP! HALT! DESIST! PAUSE! DETENTE! FERMARE! ARRÊT! STOPPEN! DỪNG LẠI! 停止!

Because this website had its alert system down for months, if this is the first update to this story you've been notified about, go back! You have probably missed out on at least three (3) to five (5) chapters of the story, as well as two (2) one-shots in Something Borrowed connected to this grand finale. So, please, I beg thee, go back, make sure you're caught up, enjoy if you're not, then come back here. Deal?

Giving you some space...

You good...?

All caught up...?

Great! Now then, let's get down to business. I had originally posted this NOTICE at the end of Nouvelle, but since it deals with the future of my fics after Classique, I felt it fit better here for the time being. After a few weeks, or months, I'll delete this, but for now, here are my thoughts, and my plans, in regards to the series, my works, and especially, each and every one of you...

I am insanely proud of Nouvelle, still consider it my best work, and a true showcase of my love for both this ship and the series at large. Of course, if you're reading this, you may know that I made a sequel to this story called Classique. Well… as of this writing Classique has also concluded, on August 03, 2024, ten (10) years to the day I first posted Nouvelle (August 03, 2014).

It feels like a lifetime ago, and in certain ways it is. So if you've ever enjoyed this little story, wanted more, or are someone who won't read fanfics until they are completed, well, here you go! It's completed now, so go give it a read, as if you enjoyed this, I doubt you'll be disappointed by the sequel.

I want to thank every single person who has read, supported, favorited, followed, and especially, especially every single person who took the time and reviewed any of my stories. You guys made Nouvelle the most reviewed Food Wars story on this platform, and Classique the third. This is insane to me, and a dream come true. I probably replied to most reviews, but even so, I wanted to again, just thank each and every one of you. I love you all, for actually taking the time to write down your thoughts and share them with me. You have no idea how much that small act helped me push through and helped me conclude this saga as I think it deserves.

I also want to thank you all for giving me the chance, and supporting me so much, in branching out and telling these stories the way I wanted to. Nouvelle was a love letter for the franchise, but it was also a deconstruction of the story, focus on the romance, put the cooking aside, get the kids away from Tootsuki, and try to have more realistic lower stakes. Meanwhile, Classique is a reconstruction, as while it still focuses plainly on Soma and Erina's romance, it features cooking (dear lord too much cooking), focuses on Tootsuki fully, and brings in every named character the manga ever featured and then some.

Thank you for letting me write a version of Soma who while, initially, is not as overpowered as his canon self, could grow not only as a chef, but also as someone who would fall for Erina. A true romantic protagonist, and someone who, in the end, yeah, would become just as amazing as he is in canon if not more so.

Thank you for letting me create this version of Erina who started out way too mean, and slowly show her learn and grow. Have her fall in love slowly, like the slow-burn I wanted this to be, and have her be an actual character who could fail. She is my lead in Classique, and I love that you all followed her journey all the same.

Thank you for allowing me to use Asahi and not immediately clicking off when I first mentioned him. The feedback I got for my story with him is the greatest in my career as a writer, and I will forever cherish it. Thank you for letting me tell his story, and for making Food Wars' most hated character into someone who became one of my favorites to write.

Thank you for letting me introduce my OCs, especially my sibling duo Dove and Loren. I was initially very against OCs in general, but writing Classique showed me how necessary they can be. How beloved they can become. How fun it is to leave a part of yourself in the stories you love. Thank you for accepting these two who, for me, are as much part of the Food Wars canon as Soma, Erina or Asahi are.

Thank you for letting me expand on all the characters, for exploring the potential in Megumi, for making Takumi a true rival, for having Akira be utterly badass, for making Alice go all in on the #ProtectErina, for having Ryou be an outright beast of a man, for making Hisako such a loveable best friend, for giving Isshiki the best arc an older brother should have, for allowing me to properly pull off a redemption arc with Eizan, for accepting my take of Azami and Mana, and contrast that with Shinomiya, Hinako, Soe, Leonora, Jouichirou and Riko, for making Shouko into a legit threat when the canon version is just a joke, for having my Julio just be here, and, of course, for standing behind and being so defensive of the little witch herself, Nao. Thank your for loving my take on the canon characters, and thank you for accepting my OCs that all became very near and dear to me.

Thank you for reading, thank you for your support. It had meant, and will always mean, the world to me.

Now then, let's have a little Q&A about what comes next, shall we?

1. Are You Going To Continue The Roles Series That Begun With Role Reversal!

I have an alternate series of one-shots, nicknamed the "Roles Series", that serve as a sort-of fix-it fics for the ending of BLUE, with each one-shot focusing on a different pairing, all leading up to a second part of the first Soma x Erina one. This one I will be writing sporadically, but I hope to have them all posted during this year. As of this writing four (4) of them are already posted, and you can find them in my Profile Page (all of them are titled Role Something).

2. Are You Going To Make Any Spin-Offs Of Nouvelle / Classique?

I haven't decided yet, and I have received several comments about possible characters to focus on, from Alice, Rindou or even Nao, and it does sound fun. If I ever get inspired enough, I may take a crack at it. It'll be something far shorter than my main stories, but we'll see. If this is something that interests you, let me know! And who would you like to see me to focus on?

3. Are You Going To Write A Sequel To Classique? Finish The Trilogy?

The million-dollar question. As of this writing, Classique is the true end of the story I started with Nouvelle. You have the side stories in Something Borrowed, and a little extra in Citrus, but a full-fledged continuation may be beyond my writing capabilities. That said… I did purposely leave the BLUE unresolved, and it has been mentioned since Nouvelle. So, if any of you are interested in it, and if I ever get a fantastic idea that simply most be told, then yeah, I may consider it. Let me know. Do you guys want one final part to this story?

4. What About A Next-Gen Fic?

Another idea I have that I have been playing around with is to focus on the characters as adults, give Soma and Erina a much more adult storyline, while also focusing half the plot on a teenaged Baby Ruth at Tootsuki with a new cast. This would be super fun to write, but I'm not sure how much interest there would be in this type of storyline. Again, let me know.

5. Are You Planning On Writing Anything Completely New?

Probably. I do have a solid pitch for another Sorina longfic (not as long as Nouvelle though), focused on the Central Arc and serving as a fix-it for that. This would be the simplest one to write, and it is very likely I give it a shot, but I am curious what the reception would be to a brand-new story of Food Wars in 2024. I dunno, you guys tell me.

6. What About Your Other Stories?

Worry not, Food Wars won't be the only thing I write for. Now that Classique is done, I plan on slowly working on other stuff too. I have a Frieren / Fire Emblem story I just started, want to redo my Miraculous Ladybug / MCU fic, and I could update some of my older stories or post brand new ones once if the inspiration hits. If you are a fan of any of these, or think I would be great for any other fandom you enjoy, drop a review and let me know what you would love to see from me!

7. Because FFN is… FFN, Where Can We Follow / Find You?

Since Alerts simply no longer work on this website, you can find me, as "Zancrowe" in Twitter (X), Reddit (I'm a Mod there in the Food Wars subreddit), YouTube and Spotify. Head over there and send me a message! Follow 4 Follow! We can chat about whatever, and I often post updates or ideas I have in those sites. (Lots of Sorina and Food Wars stuff in my YouTube Page for example.) I'm also on AO3 as just "Zancrow", so you can find me there too!

8. Are You Going To Post Nouvelle & Classique On AO3?

I'm in the process of cross-posting it as we speak (text). Slowly, granted, but my plan is to have both stories there soon-ish, and I am correcting a few mistakes and altering some simple things as I do, so in a year or two, that may end up being the better way to enjoy these stories. No idea if I'll post them in Wattpad or other sites yet, but who knows? You guys have a favorite fanfic site that's not FFN? Tell me!

9. Anything Else?

I have a New Poll up! If you want to help me decide what my next main fanfic should be, head over to my Profile Page (desktop website only) and cast your vote! Or tell me in a review, that works too!

10. What is "Kimiko no Gaiden"?

That is a little gift fic for a fandom friend I am working on. If you have read, or seen posted around here, a fic called "Shokugeki no Kimiko" by Frozen-Wave, IceColdSea, Lea (she has many names), then this is basically a what-if scenario I am writing for the heck of it. It is in no way connected to Nouvelle or Classique (even if some of my OCs are featured, and I do sneak in some references), so while not a promotion for it, if you do want to read something new from me with a distinctive flavor, by all means, head on over to my AO3 Page and give it a looksie. I assure you there is some fun to be had with such a silly little story, plus it would mean the world to me if you did!

And, again, thank you guys so much for everything. I will always remember all the support and feedback I got from these, and if you guys haven't checked out the Fanfic Collab I did with several other very talented and gifted writers, including my own Sorina one-shot Thank You, go give that a read too! In any case, I'll see you on the flipside! Take care, and of course… it wasn't much!
