Chap 4
Later, that night Thomas and the others left the political gala, between Daragons and every other political and religious leader on Earth in the Gala he and Maggie were tired. During the car ride Maggie was silent to Thomas, it might have been a little bit of quiet contemplation, or something was wrong, after arriving at the safe house Thomas and Maggie made it to the bedroom. "That was a long and very stressful night dealing with those leaders and the Popeā¦. I need a vacation" she said falling on the bed in her Monot Elsa sequins dress. Thomas looks at her and smiles and makes a silent chuckle, Maggie looks up at him angry and yet humorous look "Oh you're not hook either Thomas Shepard Mertans what was that thing with you and the Pope?" she asked with a raised eyebrow Thomas walks to her and sits on her bed and looks at her blue eyes and with one finger moves her raven black hair. Thomas kissed her lips Maggie smiles "I can never stay mad at you Tommy." She said moving closer to kiss him but in that moment, Maggie ran to the bathroom he followed a saw her throwing up "Maggie are you OK what's going on?" He asked with concern Maggie gets up "I'm pregnant Tommy and it's yours." She said with a somber tone. Thomas Mertans was in shock hearing this news but a long time ago he was still a factor. "How I was told I was genetically sterile, and I can't have kids." He said sitting down on the bed. Maggie walked toward him and sat next to him and placed her head on his "I'll explain everything tomorrow ok. She said kissing his forehead. The couple got undressed and went to bed.
The next morning Thomas woke up and saw that Maggie was not in bed in his mind he would think she's making breakfast but it's noon he got dressed and walked downstairs it was empty she was gone but she left a letter.
Dear Tommy
By the time you read this I'll be gone, please don't try to find me, I was working on a treatment that deals with infertility. The experiment was done with help of Jori and Gav. I would try to explain but it's too technical and complex. Tommy, I know that you love me but every time we're together I feel like Orpheus and Eurydice in reverse, instead of you finding me I am finding you and I love that about you, but those two are more important than you, our child or children (I am banking on Twins) and myself. I'll always love you but there is on catch you won't find me
I LOVE YOU BABE
Margret Wayne Atreides
Thomas sat down in melancholy manor until he saw Jori and Gav come in to see them the twins see him a notice something is wrong and the saw the letter Maggie was gone, and Jori sat down and hugged him in sympathetic manor while Thomas cried out heartbreak and sadness. But in his thoughts Maggie was gone and in that moment of contemplation he hopes she is safe and that she will have the peace that she wanted after this chaos of political grandstanding.
