Returning

It was already morning at Outcast Island, Blake was outside of Alvin's home preparing himself to go back to Berk

Suddenly, Alvin left the house and looked at his son

"You are going to leave already?" Alvin asked

"Yeah… I told Hiccup that I'd return in the morning, so I have to go" Blake said before Alvin placed a hand on his shoulder

"You know, you don't have to do it alone… I can go back with you if you want" Alvin said

"I appreciate the offer, but I do feel like I have to do it on my own" Blake said as he looked at Alvin "Besides, I don't want to drag you into all of this mess"

"Alright… just you know… if something goes wrong you can always come back" Alvin said

"I know, thank you" Blake said as he got on Thunder's back "I promise this time I will come to visit every now and then"

"Ha, you better come or I will drag you here myself" Alvin laughed "In fact… I think I will try that Terrible Terror thing… you know… when you use those dragons to send letters to each other"

"To be honest, I'll be surprised if you manage to send me a letter by that method" Blake said with a chuckle

"Take care, son" Alvin said as he hugged Blake

"I will, father" Blake said as the hug broke

Thunder flew away back to Berk as Alvin looked at them from the ground as he gently petted Viper's head

As they made their way back to Berk, Blake was getting more and more nervous with every second that passed, something that didn't go unnoticed by his dragon, so he grunted to get his attention

"Oh… sorry, Thunder… it's just that… I'm not sure of what to do" Blake said "I just can't return and act like nothing happened"

"The others are probably really mad at me… maybe I should've accepted my father's help" Blake said just before Thunder hit him with his wings

"Ouch! Thunder, I know you don't really like him but he's still my father" Blake said, looking at his dragon who only growled a bit

"Anyway, I still don't know what should I do… just thinking about it makes me feel ashamed" Blake sighed sadly

Thunder noticed his rider's sadness, so he smiled at him in an effort to comfort him

"Thanks, Thunder… it doesn't really help but I appreciate it" Blake said feeling just a bit better

The rest of the flight continued in silence; Thunder flew slightly slower than usual just to give more time to Blake to think about what he was going to do when they arrived to Berk

Eventually, they were able to see Berk in the distance, Thunder was planning to land outside of the forge until Blake stopped him

"Thunder, you think you could land at the shore, please?" He asked

Thunder was confused for that request, but he decided to do what his rider told him

When they landed, Blake got off Thunder's back and look at his own reflection in the ocean

"Come on, Blake… you can do it, you fought a giant dragon, you even confronted your own father, you surely can face your friends after planning to kill them, right?" Blake said to himself just before starting to feel angry

"This is pointless! There is now way this can work! I just should've stayed at Outcast Island with my father!" Blake said just before Thunder hit him again "You care to stop that?!"

Blake sighed and sat on the ground as he still looked at the ocean, so Thunder nudged him

"It's okay, Thunder" Blake said as he gave him a few head pats

After five minutes Blake felt calmer and more stood up, feeling ready to go to the village

"Alright, I'm ready" Blake said as he took a deep breath

Blake and Thunder walked towards the village, there were already some Vikings walking around and doing their daily activities. However, Blake noticed that none of them look mad at him, such as nothing happened

Blake felt a huge relief, one of the things he feared was that every single Viking in Berk knew about what he was planning and tried to attack him

He knew that a thought like that was stupid but he didn't want to take any chances, so he mentally prepared himself for anything that could happen when he returned

Another thing that Blake noticed is that he didn't see any of the other riders anywhere

"How weird, I thought they would be waiting for me" Blake said as he looked around

He looked around for a few more minutes but he still didn't see any of them, so he went straight to the forge

But, for his surprise, the other riders were there, waiting for him. None of them seemed to notice Blake since they were looking at the sky, probably expecting him to arrive riding Thunder

"Why is taking him so long?" Snotlout said, staring to feel annoyed

"Are you sure he is going to come?" Fishlegs asked

"He said that he'd return in the morning, he shouldn't be too far away" Hiccup answered "But to be honest, I'm more worried about what will happen when he arrives"

"Hiccup, if Blake really recovered all of his memories like you said, he'll be willing to talk this out" Astrid said

"But what if he is not?" Ruffnut asked

"Yeah, he could have decided to never come back until he finds a way to destroy Berk as revenge" Tuffnut said

"That's… really specific, Tuffnut" Fishlegs said

"Well, you never know what is happening in someone's mind, do you?" Tuffnut asked

"He does have a point" Snotlout said

"We just have to wait for Blake to arrive" Hiccup said

"You don't have to wait any longer" Blake said, but he didn't enter the forge he was still outside, so the other riders only heard his voice

"Blake? Is that you?" Hiccup asked

"Yeah, it's me" Blake said

"It's Blake's ghost!" Ruffnut said

"He came for us!" Tuffnut said

"Could you stop saying those nonsenses?! I'm not a ghost!" Blake said

"So, where are you?" Astrid asked

"I'm outside, just please don't come" Blake said

"What? Why?" Hiccup asked

"I'm really ashamed of myself… I can't see any of your faces right now" Blake said

"Come on, it wasn't that bad" Fishlegs said

"Not that bad?!" Blake almost yelled "I was planning to take over Berk… I was even willing to kill you guys if it was necessary"

Blake took a deep breath to calm himself down again as Thunder also tried to help him calm down

"Listen… I… I don't even know what to say… I don't even know if I should be here in the first place" he said

They riders left the forge and saw Blake, who was leaning against the wall as he covered his face, still completely ashamed of himself

"Come on, Blake… look at us" Astrid said

"I can't, I told you I'm really ashamed" Blake said, so Thunder hit him yet again "Thunder, stop that right now!"

The scene was kind of funny, it made the riders chuckle, especially the twins

With a deep breath, Blake finally looked at the other riders, trying to stay as calm as possible but creating an awkward silence

"So… uh… how have you been?" Fishlegs asked, trying to break the silence

"I'm fine… for real" Blake said, trying to stop his friends from thinking another thing "I did something I should've done a year ago and I feel like a huge weight has left my shoulders"

"You're not planning any revenge or something?" Tuffnut asked

"No, I'm not" Blake said as he rolled his eyes annoyedly

"You sure? You really remember it all?" Ruffnut asked

"I don't believe it, let's hit him in the head just to be sure" Tuffnut suggested

"I remember it all, Hiccup already told you" Blake said, before looking at Hiccup "You told them, right?"

"Yeah, I told them everything" Hiccup said

"I know I really owe everyone an explanation… I was planning to take over Berk and I almost killed Hiccup, good thing Thunder was able to stop me" Blake said with a sigh

"I must say, I kinda liked your Outcast version" Snotlout said

"You did? Really?" Blake asked rising an eyebrow

"It wasn't all that bad" Snotlout said

"It was also nice to see you bonding with Thunder once again" Fishlegs said, so Blake looked at Thunder who only nodded

"He also seemed to enjoyed it too" Astrid said

"Hiccup, what did Stoick said about this?" Blake asked

"Actually, I didn't tell him" Hiccup said, which actually made Blake feel a little relief

"Well, that's a relief… I don't know what would I do if Stoick found out" Blake said

"If I found out what?" a voice said, Blake turned around and saw how Stoick was walking towards them, with Gobber

"What are you all talking about?" Gobber asked

"We're talking about… uh-" Hiccup started, not sure if he should tell them everything that Blake did, but luckily he spoke

"About how I recovered my memories" Blake said

"You did?" Stoick asked

"Yes… I can prove it if you want" Blake said as he noticed Stoick's expression

"Go ahead then" Stoick said

"There was a time when you wanted to have a dragon of your own and when you looked at our dragons for candidates, Thunder shocked your hand" Blake said, making Thunder chuckle with me memory

"Sounds accurate" Stoick said before placing a hand of Blake's shoulder "It's good to have you back"

Before Blake could answer, Gobber hugged him tightly

"I'm so happy" Gobber said, trying not to drop tears in happiness

"Yeah… I'm happy too… but… it's kind of hard to breath" Blake said, so Gobber let him go

"Sorry, but I needed that" Gobber said as he rubbed the back of his head

"I get it, don't worry… to be honest I needed it too" Blake said

Minutes later, the riders were talking among themselves at the Great Hall, everything returned to normal

Blake felt comfortable with all of his memories, he didn't seem bothered by his past, knowing it made him who he is

"Blake, now that you recovered your memories, you have any moments you'd like to share with us?" Hiccup asked

Blake thought for a moment before answering "I guess I have a few anecdotes" he said "Why you ask?"

"Well, I'm kind of curious, how things were at Outcast Island?" Hiccup asked

Blake looked at the other riders who were looking at him, feeling as just as curious as Hiccup

"Okay then, I'll tell you some stuff" Blake said, feeling happy with how things turned out even with what he did, he couldn't ask for a better life

Yet, there were a lot of things to come

A/n: Hi, I'm finally back with the last chapter for this story

I know I owe you all an explanation for why it took me so long to finish the chapter, even if it's short

I'll try to summarize it all, first I had some trouble with school. Yes, I still go to school… in fact I'm about to enter to college, one of the problems I had with school is that some of its structure was badly damaged, it's no joke that a piece of roof almost fell on top of a student

Also, the fact that one of my teachers left the school and there was no one to grade my whole class, so we all ended up failing because in my school's system if no teacher grades you, you fail immediately no matter what, so I had to do an exam to approve the subject

By that and other things which I can't mention details, I'll just say a male teacher had some… problems with female students, so thanks to all of this some students and former students took the school in protest, basically they held me and lots of other students as hostages in the school grounds for two hours

There were also some things in my life that gave me problems, for example my computer started to fail a lot, which was not much of a problem since I had enough money saved to buy myself a new one

But what was really hard for me is that my mother got a surgery, it wasn't for something that threatened her life but she still needed the surgery, so I have been taking care of her

I'm really sorry for the really long wait but I'm happy I managed to finish this story, even if it wasn't as I expected it

I will continue with Race to the Edge as soon as I can because I still need to take care of my mother and deal with school

Thank you for reading and sorry once again for the really long wait

See you on the next story
