Hey y'all. Sorry about the lack of updates. I've been battling a rather fierce case of writers block. Every time I sit down in front of my computer my brain just seems to blank. But as soon as I leave and I'm somewhere I can't write my brain fills with ideas. However, I have still been reading so I should hopefully have some more ideas coming. No guarantees on updates though, school is starting back up and I have some HARD classes coming up.
On a different note, I absolutely love to read your reviews! Please feel free to review as much as you like. It honestly makes me want to continue these stories. If y'all have any ideas tell me. I'll see what I can do about working them in. Also, if something doesn't seem to make sense feel free to call me out on it. I'm always looking to grow.
That is all I have for you fine people today. Thank you for reading my stories.
I DO NOT OWN PERCY
Mount Olympus
Hestia sat quietly next to the hearth listening to the conversations the other gods were holding all around her. Demeter was rambling on about cereal again, while across the room Apollo and Hermes were talking quietly with notepads in hand.
'Probably planning their next prank.' Hestia thought fondly. Zeus was sitting with his head resting lazily on his hand watching the proceedings and Athena was typing furiously away on her laptop. Hera was sitting there regally, listening to Aphrodite drone on about the new make-up she was using. Ares was talking with Dionysus about any new wines that had come out, probably to order some for Aphrodite.
Suddenly Hestia felt a change in her domain as a powerful new presence joined the Olympians family. She wondered why it felt so familiar as she looked over to see if anyone else had noticed the new person. She saw Hera looking at her and she nodded to show that she had noticed it as well. She watched as Hera conjured a solid gold book. That book was a complete list of every marriage on the earth. As Hestia watched Heras normally composed face contorted to one of shock.
'I wonder what could have caused her to make that face? Normally she can see the marriages before they even happen.' Hestia thought, as a bright flash in the center of the room drew everyone's attention. When the light cleared there stood two people, one was very clearly her niece Artemis, but the other figure was unknown but seemed vaguely familiar. Before Hestia had more time to muse on this the stranger spoke.
"It's nice to see all of you again. Except you Zeusie, screw you." Hestia turned to look at her brother watching as the color seemed to drain from his face. He seemed to choke on his words as he stared at the man. Finally, he spoke, but his voice was shaky and uncertain at best.
"B-but how? I killed you. You were supposed to fade." The council recoiled at this. The only immortal that they knew of that Zeus had killed was their father. It also didn't escape their attention that Artemis hadn't gone to her throne yet and was still standing by the man.
"Oh, don't worry I haven't forgotten what you did to me or what you took from me." The mystery man hissed at Zeus. Hestia didn't miss the fact that at the end of the sentence the man's eyes flicked to her. She almost collapsed as she felt a hot spike of pain course through her head. She had barely recovered from the pain when a second wave hit her. This time she did collapse to the ground as the pain overwhelmed her. She began to cry, as the pain continued to come and seemingly increase. Just as she thought that she was going to fade from the pain a soothing warmth filled her head driving the pain away. Hestia hesitantly opened her blurry tear-filled eyes. There in front of her was the mystery man looking at her with concern and… love?
"Are you better now love?" The man asked. Hestia just barely nodded her head, afraid that the man was going to leave, and the pain would return.
"Listen love. You have a block on your memories and that is what is causing you the pain. I am going to remove it, okay? It wil hurt for a moment but you will feel all better when its gone." The man explained.
Hestia just nodded again unsure of how to respond. Suddenly she felt the warmth in her mind withdraw slightly before shooting forward and piercing a wall that she didn't even know was there. Instantly a huge wave of pain hit her. Her whole body became stiff as a board as the pain caused her muscles to lock. But with the pain came the memories. Memories, of Percy protecting her inside of her father's stomach. Memories, of Percy coming back from battles with the titans cut and bruised but just happy to see her again. Then one memory came to the front of her mind that caused her eyes to tear up again. This time not out of pain but instead joy. Percy down on one knee in front of her in the middle of a beautiful forest with a ring in his hands.
To Hestia this process seemed to take millennia. To everyone else, however, it took mere seconds. Once the pain had faded and the memories had settled, Hestia looked up at Percy. The moment their eyes made contact their heads started to unconsciously move together. Just before their lips connected, Percy suddenly withdrew and spun them around, so he was shielding Hestia with his body. The duo was flung across the room as Zeus's Master Bolt hit Percy full force. They rolled to a stop in front of the entrance to the chamber. Artemis instantly appeared above them with an arrow nocked pointed at Zeus. Zeus stood from his throne as he recalled the Master Bolt to his hand.
"Stand aside, daughter. I will finish what I failed to do all those years ago." Zeus boomed as he prepared to throw his bolt again. Instead of responding Artemis just shook her head and stood her ground.
"So be it." Zeus said as he threw the bolt. The bolt screamed across the chamber as Zeus threw it with all his might. In the blink of an eye the weapon crossed the distance separating Zeus and the trio. Right as the bolt was about to hit Artemis, the whole council suddenly felt sluggish and slow like they were moving through syrup. The master bolt that had been speeding through the chamber slowed almost to a stop mere inches from Artemis's face. Behind her came Percy's voice.
"You know Zeus, you and me already had a list of problems longer than the list of your illegitimate children. But now you have attacked not only me but the two people I care about more than anything else." Behind Artemis, Percy stood his body wreathed in crimson flames as he released his power. The council was amazed to see the only sign he had even been hit by the bolt was a smoldering hole in his shirt. Percy stepped around Artemis and grabbed the Master Bolt as he walked towards the King of the Gods. As he walked, he began to speak.
"Once upon a time I fought with you because I believe you to be better than your father. But it seems that the apple really doesn't fall far from the tree does it. You swore you would be a fair and just r8uler but here you sit a dictator and fearmonger, that ends now. I Perseus, Son of Chaos and the God of Loyalty challenge you for the title of King of the Gods."
Percy stopped in the center of the council ring. He looked down at the Master Bolt for a moment before seeming to come to a decision. He turned his body and drew back his arm.
"Word of advice Zeusie. Next time you hit someone with this little firecracker of yours, make sure you it puts them down." With that he stepped forward and let the Bolt fly. Back across the room it shot embedding itself almost halfway through the throne mere inches from Zeus's face.
Satisfied with what he had done Percy turned around and rejoined Artemis and Hestia. Then he started to usher them both towards the door. Just before the three of them exited the room Percy spoke again.
"Go ahead and pick a place and time Zeus, I'll be there. With that the trio left the room and the doors slammed behind them. The council sat there staring at the door for several seconds, before the room exploded with accusations and questions.
