Born To Lead 1 ½ Chapter 5
Blue Eyes and Willow are spending some crucial alone time together before they must be separated once more from this madness.
Blue Eyes would be soon departing with Rocket and a young orangutan called Ray to escort Malcolm, Ellie, and Alexander to a safe harbor while Willow would be staying behind to locate and make safe a place in the city where other females and young can safely settle under the gorilla guard's protection. Of course, their mother will be the true leader of that area, but Willow will oversee safeguarding it along with whichever member of the gorilla guard Luca handpicks to stand beside her.
The twins are sitting alone on a rooftop staring out over the city at the setting sun, in the direction of the bridge and the forests when they hear someone approaching them.
It's Cornelia and their newborn baby brother Cornelius. He finally has a name.
The moment the two are in view Cornelius breaks away from their mother, bounding off her back and rushing over to them. Because Willow is the closest Cornelius leapt into her arms and climbs onto her shoulders. Willow pant-laughs, pulling him off and tickling the baby's stomach.
Moving over to sit beside Blue Eyes, Cornelia asked "Are you ready?"
"He's just trying to get rid of me," complained Blue Eyes, obvious displeasure in his hand signs. "He's afraid I'll get killed, like Ash."
A pang pricked Willow's heart at the mention of her deceased lover, but she hid it well in favor of reasoning with her twin.
Using one hand, the other preoccupied by Cornelius, Willow explained "Your confidence has been shattered thanks to Koba. Father just simply wants it to be rebuilt before putting you back in danger. And you're not alone in this. While I'm not going with you, Father is taking me out of the conflict, too, and putting me with the other females."
Touching his face gently to convey her concern over the matter, Cornelia signed "I'm scared, too. What would you say if I told you I begged him to send you away."
"I would say you shouldn't have done that," answered Blue Eyes.
Shrugging, Cornelia signed "Well, I didn't. But I'm glad he is. And he's not just getting rid of you. The job he's given you is an important one. We need to know what else out there might threaten us."
"Why not just send Rocket and Ray, then," he demanded, stubbornly. "Why must I go?"
Making a small snorting sound, Cornelia said "Rocket is strong, loyal, full of courage. But he isn't all that smart. You are."
"Really? I let Koba fool me," countered Blue Eyes.
Placing a hand over his, Willow signed "It wasn't just you. He fooled everyone even me into attacking the humans until I realized what he truly was."
"Koba told you what you wanted to hear at the time," added Cornelia. "Knowing that is a different kind of smart than I'm talking about. You will see things differently than Rocket. What might not attract his notice will be a red fruit to you. Where he sees only two sticks and then two more sticks, you will see four. That's why your father is sending you."
"Then why doesn't he just tell me this himself," signed Blue Eyes, frustratedly.
Shaking her head, Cornelia signed "He is busy, if you haven't noticed."
"Busy," signed Blue Eyes, lightly scoffing.
In response Cornelia touches her forehead to his and Willow lays hers on his shoulder.
This is a huge change before them now and not just regarding the growing conflict with hostile humans. No, where in the past Caesar always sought to keep his children as nearby as possible to both teach and protect now he's sending them out on their own. Blue Eyes more so than Willow. In the past Blue Eyes desired distance from his father and now all he wants to do is remain at his side.
In Blue Eyes' defense the last time he wanted separation didn't exactly work out so well.
Guessing what was on his mind, Cornelia signed "You always said he treated you like a baby. How many times did you beg him to hunt before he let you? How often did you ask if you could travel to the next valley to see what was there? To explore the hills with Ash? Don't you understand? He's given you what you asked for. Command of yourself."
"Mother's right," signed Willow. "When we were growing up all I wanted was a glimpse into the human's world. To get a closer look at their cities and what lay within. While it's not quite how I pictured it to turn out, my wish still came true. Now Father is giving you a chance at yours."
Insistingly, Blue Eyes signed "But I want to fight."
"No, you don't," signed Cornelia in firm reproach. "It's not what you're good at. It's not what you're made for. Even as a little thing, you were always trying to see what was in the next tree, never content with where you were. Take this gift from him, Blue Eyes. Please."
Resignedly, visibly slumping forward in his posture, Blue Eyes signed "What choice do I have?"
"What choice do any of us have," signed Willow, sadly.
This is the plate they've been dealt and must make the best of it.
The next morning the preparations for Blue Eyes journey had been made.
There would be three apes, three humans, and eight horses. Six to ride and an extra two to carry supplies.
Willow is assisting, making sure everything is in perfect working order when she notices her friend Lake approaching Blue Eyes from the corner of her eye. She appears and little cross and truthfully Willow can't blame her. Blue Eyes hadn't said goodbye to her and by the look of things he hadn't been intending to. Something that irked Lake greatly given how much she liked Blue Eyes and from what the female had told her friend.
By the end of their conversation, Lake stomps away calling Blue Eyes an idiot. A label Willow has to concur on.
Hoping to snap some sense into him Willow whacks him on the back of the head.
Wincing from the impact, indignantly and utterly clueless, Blue Eyes signed "What?"
"What, what, what," signed Willow in an imitation of Lake.
Helplessly, Blue Eyes signed "I don't understand."
"And you never will with that attitude," signed Willow, walking away.
Blue Eyes glanced around in embarrassment, wondering who else was there to hear. Rocket was there, laughing at his expense and Alexander was grinning at him.
"Get a clue, man," said Alexander, laughing along with them.
It's time. They mount their steeds.
Willow stops Rocket before they stop moving.
Making sure he alone could see her, Willow signed "Take care of him…Bring my brother back to me."
Rocket and Willow share a strong bond for she had been pledged to his only son.
Clasping her wrist with his own, Rocket promised "I will."
Willow watches them leave with a heavy heart until they're out of sight. Silently praying in her heart that Blue Eyes, Rocket, and Ray return safely to them where others have not.
At last, Willow turns away, her heart set. She has her job to do.

I'M BACK!
For those of you on fanfiction I'm sure you've been facing the many unwanted ads when you're reading a story. Well, yesterday, I finally had enough, and I got an adblocker app. It worked! No more ads on any level! The one I got is Adblock Pro: Safari Ad Blocker. It really works. Just follow the instruction video that it attached to it.
Heads up everyone there's someone on fanfiction you need to seriously watch out for. Early a couple of months ago after I woke up I was checking my email and I saw I had a new guest review on my A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 sequel. I took a look at it and got a very big shock. Some random person I've never spoken to before on here or anywhere else in my life was basically threatening me. Intimidating and practically ordering me to write a threatening letter to someone on their behalf, telling to stay off of for life or else they and everyone else close to them would be killed, disgustingly telling them to kill themselves. And at the bottom of the message this crazy person wasn't done. Warning me that if I don't send the letter then they would kill me and for confirmation to email them to make absolutely sure I complied with their demands. Of course I did nothing of the sort. Instead of doing what they wanted I reported them to the website, sent copies of this deplorable guest review message to police officer cousins of mine so they could have it on file, and I went to a nearby police station and reported it.
When I spoke to the police officers and they checked everything on the message they saw, that while the address and names of business were accurate the people and their names were not. They agree it was more than likely a scam because of the email address on the bottom in order to perhaps get access to personal information or potentially hack my computer. Despite that I'm still very happy they took it seriously as I showed and told them everything. All the same I'm still very happy that I brought this to the attention of law enforcement. Even though the entire thing might be fake I'm still very happy to have brought this to the attention of those who can do something about it if it was legit in some way. This may have been a scam, but it's obvious these people are beyond irresponsible if they try to goad people into sending death threats to random strangers just to get access to info.
Be that as it may if this does unfortunately happen to you do not send any messages to the email addresses they put down and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you bring the message to the authorities immediately whether it is legit or not.
Because it's a guest review it might not be visible for a couple of days as it loads if it is sent to you. But when it does you should definitely pressing the report abuse button and send it to the email that leads to the support staff that is available.
Just a heads up to those of you who aren't aware of this yet, Email alerts for this website are now only active if Email opts is enabled in account settings.
I hope you all like this one! I certainly did while writing it for your vast enjoyment! ;D
For those of you just starting out with my stuff there are other works on my profile that may catch your interest. I highly recommend you take a look as soon as the opportunity presents itself to you. Who knows, you may be pleasantly surprised by what you discover.
Stay safe everyone. Especially with all of these crazy natural disasters occurring a lot lately due to global warming and climate change everywhere for sure. I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.
So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.
I know I am. ;) See you guys next time.
