Author's Note: Welcome to the Total Danganronpa Extras fic! This will contain alternative endings for each season, as well as audition tapes for the cast(s) and one-shots surrounding the series. And, yes, you can request, although I can't guarantee that I'll actually fulfill it (I'll do my best, though)!
First up, the alternative ending of Total Danganronpa Island! This starts towards the end of the end of the episode, so I highly suggest reading the full episode in the main story, if you haven't already!
Also! Tags will be updated as I post, so be aware of that!
Maki and Junko took off towards the finish line, still on each other's tail. It turned out to be an extremely close call, but in the end, the winner of the $100,000 grand prize was...
"Junko is the winner!" Chris announced, and cheers erupted into even louder ones.
"I won?" Junko asked, looking around as several campers surrounded her. "I won!"
"You did it, Junko!" Junko looked over to see Tenko running up towards her as Celestia walked past them, scowling. "I knew you could do it!" she exclaimed, a large grin on her face as she pushed her way though the crowd to get to Junko.
Junko laughed, playfully punching her shoulder. "Hey, give yourself some credit too! I couldn't have done it without your help. Especially with the whole Celes thing. It was funny seeing you tackle Celes like that."
Tenko giggled. "Yeah, you're right!" She paused, fiddling with her thumbs. "Um, hey, do you mind if I show you something?"
Junko stared at her, confused. "What is it?"
Tenko cupped Junko's face with her hands and pulled her into a passionate kiss. Junko didn't pull away, instead melting into it and kissing back.
Immediately after pulling away, Tenko's face flushed a brilliant shade of red. "I—Sorry, I—I should've—I just thought—"
"No, no, you're fine," Junko assured, blushing as well. "I... liked it."
"Um..." Tenko twiddled with her thumbs again. "Does this mean...?"
Junko grinned, but it seemed a bit melancholic. "We'll see."
Maki stood some distance away, taking off her chicken hat with a sigh.
"Hey, don't feel bad that you lost," Rantaro said, surprising her with a hand on her shoulder. "If you want, I can help you donate some money to your orphanage. It wouldn't be as much as the prize money, but it'd be something."
"Thanks, Rantaro, but it's something that I have to do alone."
Rantaro frowned at this, but the cheers of the other campers caught his and Maki's attention.
"Well, I better go and congratulate her—" Maki started, only for an unfamiliar voice to jump in the mix.
"Sorry to crash this pathetic party, but I have an announcement to make." The voice was revealed to be a girl who looked eerily similar to Junko, same outfit and all, except she wore black-and-white teddy bear hair clips, and everyone fell silent.
"Uh, who are you?" a confused Chris asked.
"Wait, Junko said she had a twin sister," Rantaro said as the campers surrounding Maki broke away. "But she said she wasn't here on the show."
The girl somehow had a crown on her head now. "Allow me to explain, peasant! You see, this whole thing was actually a ploy! She," she pointed at "Junko", "is not Junko Enoshima! I am the real Junko, and she is my disappointment of a sister, Mukuro." She stuck her tongue out and started speaking aggressively. "And all you fuckin' chumps fell for it!"
"Ploy...?" Tenko asked, her voice breaking as she looked over at "Junko". "Junko" didn't meet her eyes.
"That is correct," Junko answered, her hair now in a ponytail and a clipboard in hand. "We decided that she would sign up for this show on the basis that she would look like me. Her task was to blend in with you guys and see how long she would last. However, being the disappointment that is, almost got herself eliminated in the fourth episode, so I had to do a bit of... meddling, so to speak. Sounds familiar, Leon and Sayaka?"
Sayaka and Leon gasped.
"Wait, so you were just hiding on the island this whole time?" Kaito asked.
"Y-Yeah, wouldn't it have been risky at best?" Mikan pointed out. "I mean, w-what if one of us had seen you?"
"Of course it was risky!" Junko exclaimed, in a cutesy voice. "But that's the whole fun in it! And, besides, I got away with it, didn't I?" At the look "Junko" gave her, Junko's voice turned depressed, complimented with tiny mushrooms on her head. "Aw, Muku, don't give me that look! I didn't force you to do any of this, did I?"
"Junko...?" "Junko" turned to see Hiyoko standing next to her, on the verge of tears. "Is... Is this really true?"
"Junko" bit her lip and sighed. "It's... all true." Her hand went to her hair and, in one fell swoop, pulled it off to reveal a black bob. She sighed. "My real name is Mukuro Ikusaba. I'm not a fashionista or anything."
The campers gasped, along with Chris and Chef.
"Hey, hey!" Junko exclaimed, holding a black-and-white teddy bear in front of her face. "You forgot to mention the part where you're a part of a terrorist group!"
"Terrorist group...?" Makoto parroted, and a few others shot her suspicious looks.
"Hey, you lied to us!" Kazuichi protested.
"Wait, hold on, I'm so confused right now," Yasuhiro muttered. He was ignored.
"Ju—Mukuro?" Tenko stared at her, wiping tears from her face. "Why would you do... all of this?"
"Wow, what a shocker," Chris interrupted before Mukuro could answer. "I mean, I know this is the last episode, but geez! However, as much as I love drama, we should really be celebrating the winner right now."
Later, nighttime had fallen over Jabberwock Island for the final time, with all twenty-three campers were all gathered around the bonfire at the beach. Notably, they were all sitting as away from both Junko and Mukuro, with the latter having swapped out her outfit for a white blouse, black skirt, brown gloves, and black loafers.
"Here we are, at the last bonfire ceremony ever!" Chris announced. "After eight brutal weeks, it is my pleasure to announce the winner of Total Drama Island... Mukuro!"
Everyone was quiet as she silent walked up to claim her prize—no cheering, no applause, nothing.
"Mukuro, I give you the ultimate symbol of survival: the final marshmallow." Chris dropped the marshmallow into her hand, but she didn't eat it and instead gave him a polite bow before hurrying back to her seat.
"Yo, guys," Leon said, standing up and looking at Mondo and Yasuhiro, "you know what it's time for?"
All three guys stared at Chris with smirks, causing his expression to become worried.
"N-No! No, guys! My hair! Dudes!"
Chris protested and squirmed in the grasp of the three boys as they carried him down the Dock of Shame. The rest of the campers followed after them, laughing and cheering the teens on.
"One... Two... Three!" The boys heaved the host off the dock and into the water, but not an intense amount of flailing. He surfaced, spitting out a mouthful of water.
"I've been wanting to do that all summer!" Chef laughed, not noticing the looks the boys were giving him. "How do you like that, pretty boy?!"
"Oh, Chef," Yasuhiro said mischievously, causing his eyes to wide. He ran off screaming as the boys chased after them, laughing.
"Hey," Mukuro said, walking up to Celestia, "guess you're not the only one who had a secret identity, huh, Taeko?"
Celestia laughed. "I am honestly not as angry about it anymore, now that you have lost the money and the trust of everyone else here."
Mukuro rolled her eyes. "Yes, I'm aware."
"I am curious, though..." Celestia put a finger to her chin. "How are you going to fare from this point on? I doubt you and your sister are exactly on good terms after today."
Mukuro shrugged, looking up at the shining moon. "I don't know yet. I guess we'll just figure it out one day at a time."
Author's Note: And there we have it—the alternative ending for Junko. Nothing really changes, except for a few lines of dialogue (or lack of). I originally wasn't gonna post this, but then a comment made me reconsider. So, yeah. Everything I wanted to say about this season can be found in the main story, as well as the rankings.
Anyways, thanks for reading, and I hope to see you next time (here and at the main story)!
