As I get out of my hospital bed, I cut my hand, only for it to heal back up instantly. What the hell?

What is going on with me?

RADION: Chapter Two - Unwelcome

Walking out of the hospital, it seemed like something had happened, as the lights were flickering when I went past, with vending machine screens shutting down, and automatic doors refusing to open.

Is there some sort of blackout? Maybe caused from a villain attack? I probably should be careful leaving then. I go to grab my phone from my pocket to look at the time, but it refused to turn on, with not even a battery warning coming up to say that it was dead.

Must have broken it during the explosion, right? Can't possibly be me.

I start to walk towards the exit of the hospital quicker, with the malfunctions in the lights and electricals around me only intensified. Hospital monitors blinked on and off, and the radios of the security guards only produced static as they all went to replace their batteries at the same time. As they do, I notice in the corner of my eye that the batteries were completely melted, as if they were put up directly against a volcano.

Now that I think about it, it's incredibly warm in here. What is going on? Is all of this following me?

This can't all be a coincidence, as I look down towards my hands to try to see any kind of indication that I am the one causing this, but my hands were completely fine, maybe a bit shaky, but that is it.

I sped up as I went through the exit of the hospital, trying to get out of there as quick as possible.

Turning a corner, I fall into a random guy in an alleyway and as I look up at him I freeze for some reason. He is covered in scars and it's like his face is completely dried up. "Get out of my way before I turn you to dust" the man says, I quickly move and he leaves.

I go to run away, and as I do, I am suddenly about 100 meters away from where I had just been, almost like I had teleported I was so fast. No. No, no no no. What the hell is happening.

Once I had stopped running, I was in front of an old abandoned warehouse, it was supposed to have been knocked down years ago, but I guess it wasn't, someone else must have bought it before the old owners decided to tear it down. As I went inside, the old rusted doors groaned out as I pushed it as far as it would go, before shutting it behind me. On the inside, the room I was in looked as grimy and dusty as the outside did.

I guess if there is any place to figure out what is going on, I suppose here is the right place to do it. I clenched my fists, willing something—anything—to happen. But the only response I got was rustling of the wind through the broken windows.

"FUCK SAKE. WHY CANT SOMETHING COOL HAPPEN, AM I JUST GOING CRAZY" I start screaming and then proceed to kick an old empty paint can as far as I can. Once I did that, it rolled to a door that led to a different room, with strange lights glowing behind.

As I slowly opened the door, I looked in to see absolute horror. A row of large, shadowy figures loomed in the darkness, their outlines barely recognizable against the far wall. As I got closer the feature became more noticeable, and my breath instantly got caught in my throat. There were monstrous figures, all contained in what looked like large glass containers. Their bodies were disgusting, twisted amalgamations of muscle and tissue, their faces distorted and inhuman, with their brains protruding from the top of their heads. My stomach turned at the sight, and a cold sweat broke out across my skin.

I started to back up slowly, hoping to dear god that they wouldn't wake up, and I kept backing up until I hit something solid. I looked up to see one of the grotesque beasts stood there, still as a statue.

C-can it see me? Is it alive? What the fuck is happening today seriously?

In another building, a wisping purple portal like being can be seen behind a bar, watching a screen that viewed the very abandoned warehouse.

"Awaken, Nomu. This should be a good test run. No leaving the warehouse though, our great plan is not for some time."

The creature didn't move a muscle, with its eyes shut with its body just as eerily still as all the others that were contained. Out of nowhere, a harsh, thundering growl emanated from the beast, with its eyelids cracking open, revealing lifeless orbs that stared right through my very soul.

The beast start to move, very stiff, almost like a broken robot, but then, out of nowhere, it lunged straight for me.

Shit, I've gotta move, or do something.

Instead of doing something, my mind goes back to the natural reaction. Cower in fear and out your hands up. Well, shit, here comes the death blow then...

But instead, a bright light sparks from my hands, and an explosive surge of energy is released. The force of the surprising blast sent the creature back into the frame of the door, stuck.

Did, did I just send an explosion at that creature? I couldn't believe what had just happened. One second, I was about to be crushed, and the next, I had unleashed something powerful enough to knock a creature like that off its feet. Me. A useless, hopeless, quirkless nobody. I guess that isn't true anymore.

I started to run towards the beast, but it was like my body wouldn't listen to me, because I DEFINITELY did not want to go that way. Why the hell am I fucking moving? Stop being an idiot and run away!

As I neared the.. whatever its called, instead of being pummeled into the ground, I slid under the reaching arms of the beast, and out of the door, and sprinted out the exit door in the next room. I pulled the rusty door with a strain, scrambling for it to open.

The beast closed down the space nearly instantly, but I managed to slam the door on it, and started sprinting away.

Right, so that is Chapter two, released on day two of the story being out xD

No, but seriously, I didn't really want to put two chapters out so quickly, but I thought, eh, fuck it why not. So, here it is. I wouldn't expect a third chapter til either the end of this week, or next Thursday (Unless I decide otherwise XD). Hope you enjoyed the read though, peace.
