Monk
I leaned back against the wall.
Tifa looked at me nervously.
"So?"
"I got the job."
She hugged me.
"I knew you would get it."
Star walked in.
"He got the job."
"Oh, Joyous day! We must celebrate."
I froze as I saw someone in armor, Samus.
"Did you secure job training whelps?"
"Yes."
"Good."
"No armor in the house."
"Feel nude without armor. Less weight feels unnatural."
"Not in the house."
Samus sighed as she took off her armor, her suit under it, and looked nervous. Star hugged her and I watched Samus blink.
"Today is a joyous day friend Samus, smile."
She looked at me, took her two index fingers and used them to lift the corners of her mouth into a smile. I shrugged it off.
"Think we should plan, future is important."
"Yes, Friend Samus, that sounds most reasonable with the war."
"No, plan harem."
I froze, Tifa blinked.
"We don't live in a harem, Samus."
"Who's bed do we all sleep in?"
Tifa blinked.
"Oh shit, we are in a harem."
She sat down.
"That is a thing."
She blushed but, with that, we hammered out a deal. Tifa was in charge of the family stuff, Samus handled the training of people, Star administered the station while I would be in charge of general RnD stuff. The Front gathered their people, allies, and families and we trained them in VR pods. As much as I wanted more Dreadnaughts I had to agree that we needed more ships in general. So we built more destroyers.
When the time came we had over 1800 of them, and we hoped that would be a good enough start. Harvest was our first real battle the Nakam class proved it could cut through Covenant ships like a knife through butter, and the Baz class destroyers proved their worth by allowing us to cover the evacuation of harvest.
Most of the people who left went further into UNSC space but a few of them decided they would be safer with us. What came next was a series of battles across human-dominated space. Our Navy was too small, we could handle the largest forces with my hacking but we couldn't be everywhere at once. The UNSC for their part fumbled badly and were slaughtered. I dedicated the production of five of our Carriers to more destroyers. Vetted refugees were allowed to live on the Carriers.
The problem was manpower. We needed time to train people. We needed to expand our army, our fleet, our everything. With the Covenant spewing in we needed to force them into a trap, needed a big enough victory that it would cause a pause in the war. A victory that would signal to the outer colonies that we were their true defenders and cause more people to defect to our cause.
To that end, I talked with my fellow rebel leaders and we planned operation Warsaw.
