Welcome Back Home Chapter 4
Lincoln carefully held the sleeping Lana and Lola by the hand, helping them out of the van as he surveyed the neighborhood. It was 1 a.m., and the street was quiet. "Well, welcome," Lynn Sr. announced, noticing the light still on in the room. "Looks like someone's still awake," Rita added. Although Lana and Lola were sleepy, they glanced around the house. "This is a great place to live," Lana murmured, her eyes wide with wonder. "It's beautiful," Lola agreed, equally enchanted. "Looks like Lori can't sleep," Lynn Sr. observed. The parents began to tell Lincoln, Lana, and Lola about their eight sisters, though the details slipped through their drowsy minds. "Come on, Lincoln, Lana, and Lola," Rita urged, gently guiding them inside. "Let's get you three to bed."
Lynn Sr. opened the door, and Lincoln walked in with caution, mindful of his recent spine surgery. Lana was equally careful, ensuring her arm didn't collide with anything, while they all assisted Lola up the stairs due to her leg injury. Once inside, Lynn Sr. closed the door, and the trio noticed an older girl with blonde hair, dressed in a light blue tank top and checkered shorts, standing in the dimly lit dining room, brightened only by an overhead light. She rose from her seat and approached them, casting a glance at her parent before turning her attention to the three youngsters. "Lincoln, Lana, and Lola meet your older sister, Lori," Rita announced, then stepped back.
They looked up at Lori, their gazes locking. She knelt, pulling them close until their chins rested on her shoulder. "You three have been gone so long. Look how much you've grown," she murmured. As she drew back, they could see her eyes were red and puffy from tears at the sight of them. "You guys are six years old now, aren't you?" Lori asked, her voice breaking with emotion. They shook their heads, "We're actually five." Lori enveloped them in another hug, holding them even tighter. "I was twelve when you guys disappeared," she whispered. Lincoln, Lana, and Lola were at a loss for words, but the warmth of their sister's embrace filled them with comfort. They returned her hug, grateful for the presence of their older sister. Lori could tell they were tired and ready to sleep, and she knew that Rita and Lynn Sr. were aware too.
"Let's continue this in the morning," Lori suggested. Rita nodded, "Alright, Lincoln, Lana, and Lola, off to bed with you." Lori agreed to share a room with Leni for the night. Lynn Sr. came in with three oversized t-shirts in orange, dark blue, and pink, handing them out as makeshift pajamas. Leading the way upstairs, Lori glanced back to see Lincoln and Lana assisting Lola, who was navigating the tall stairs with a cast on her foot. Lori appreciated their mutual support. Reaching the top, they turned to their parents, "Goodnight, Lincoln, Lana, and Lola," they chorused. "Goodnight," Rita echoed, while Lynn Sr. added warmly, "Goodnight, my children, and welcome home," relieved to have the three kids safely back.
They hurried to the bathroom to slip into their oversized t-shirt pajamas and followed Lori to her room. "This is mine and Leni's room," Lori explained as she opened the door and ushered them towards the bed. "You three can sleep on my bed," she offered, lifting Lincoln, Lana, and Lola onto the soft covers. Once they were settled, she tenderly kissed each forehead. "Goodnight, Lincoln, Lana, and Lola," Lori whispered. In unison, they replied, "Good night." Soon, they all drifted off to sleep. As morning arrived, the sunlight streaming through the window signaled it was time to rise.
Upon awakening, Lori stood by their side, gently rousing them. "Good morning, you guys," Lori greeted, prompting all three to rub their eyes. "Morning, Lori," Lincoln, Lana, and Lola responded in unison. "Everyone's eager to see you, but first, I have something to aid you three," Lori said, rummaging through her pocket and producing three band-aids adorned with aid symbols. Lincoln, puzzled, inquired, "What are these for?" "It's a healing band-aid kit that my little sister Lisa crafted," Lori explained. Lola and Lana clung to each other, uncertain of what to do, while Lincoln, not wanting them to feel scared or anxious, faced Lori. "I'll go first," Lincoln declared courageously. Lori nodded, applying a Band-Aid to Lincoln. Moments later, Lincoln experienced a tingling sensation, and once it subsided, he felt significantly better.
"How do you feel?" Lola asks timidly. "Much better," Lincoln replies, removing his back brace, to Lana and Lola's astonishment, seeing him fully recovered. Subsequently, Lana and Lola apply the same healing bandage and within seconds, their injection sites begin to heal. "My arm, my leg, they're all healed!" they exclaim. Overjoyed, they rush to embrace Lincoln. "I'm so happy you're all better," Lincoln says with a smile. Lori, unable to contain her joy, smiles too. Lincoln, Lana, and Lola turn to Lori and envelop her in a group hug. "Thank you, Lori," the triplets say, looking up at her. After a short while, they release Lori, who then stands and addresses them, "Are you ready to go downstairs? They're eager to meet you," she says. The trio exchanges glances and asks, "Are they kind?" Lori nods affirmatively, "Yes, they're kind and excited to see you again. Plus, you have two little sisters named Lisa and Lily," she informs them, stepping out into the hallway to wait.
Lincoln, Lana, and Lola stepped out of Lori's room and into the hallway where Lori was waiting. Together, the four of them descended the stairs and were greeted by a throng of girls encircling the dining room table. Lynn Sr. introduced them, saying, "These are your siblings, Lincoln, Lana, and Lola; they're triplets." He cautioned the girls not to overwhelm them. However, the girls swarmed around them like a pack of wolves, with most expressing joy at their return. The two youngest clung to their sides, while Lynn Jr. affectionately ruffled Lola and Lana's hair, and especially Lincoln's, relieved to see them healthy and alive. Tears were visible on their faces, particularly Lynn Jr.'s and Lucy's. Although Lucy's eyes were hidden by her hair, the tears streaming down were evident. Lori called out to the girls, urging them not to bombard them with questions. "Let's introduce ourselves, let them tell us about themselves, okay?" she suggested. In agreement, all the sisters exclaimed, "Okay!" in unison. As everyone dries their tears, Lynn Jr. quickly does the same, not wanting her sisters to see her cry.
Once composed, they line up by age. Lori steps forward first. "Hello, I'm Lori Loud. I enjoy golf and take the lead when our parents are away. If you ever have a problem or need someone to talk to, I'm here for you," she says. After Lori, Leni approaches. "Hi, I'm Leni Loud, the second eldest. Fashion is my passion, from designing to understanding all about clothing. I adore my family, and I'm sure I'll love you three as well. Despite my fear of spiders," she shudders but quickly smiles again, "I'm here if you need fashion advice or support." Leni then steps back, and Luna comes forward. "Hey, dude, I'm Luna Loud. Music is my life, and I play various instruments with a British flair. If you're keen to learn about music, I'm your go-to person," Luna concludes, stepping back into line. Luan Loud approached the trio and greeted them cheerfully. "Hi, I'm Luan, the third oldest. It's a hoot meeting you three musketeers!" At this, Lincoln, Lana, and Lola burst into laughter, joined by the rest of the family. Luan's smile was a clear sign of her joy. "I love comedy, making people laugh, and April Fool's Day. If you ever want to hear a joke, just look around—I'll be sailing through with laughs!" The family erupted into laughter once more. As Luan stepped back, Lynn Jr. came forward. "Hey, I'm Lynn Loud Jr., the fourth oldest. I'm into all kinds of sports. If anyone messes with you three, they'll have to answer to me," she said confidently before walking away. Then, Lucy approached them.
"I am Lucy Loud, drawn to the art of poetry, the embrace of darkness, and the whisperings of spirits. Black is the hue that resonates with my soul. Should you ever crave poetic musings, seek me in the shadows." Abruptly, the lights dimmed, plunging the room into darkness momentarily. As the lights returned, Lucy had disappeared, only to materialize beside her sisters, prompting startled cries from them. Lisa, cradling baby Lily, approached and announced, "Greetings, I am Lisa Loud, and this bundle of joy is Lily Loud. As the family's prodigy, I revel in conducting experiments and crafting inventions. Should curiosity about my latest projects strike you, you'll find me in my laboratory." Lily's giggles punctuated the air with a cheerful 'POPO.' Lisa, still holding Lily, rejoined their siblings. Moments later, their parents approached. "I am Rita Loud, your mother, dedicated to ensuring the safety of my children. As a dentist, my door is always open for your concerns," Rita declared. "And I," Lynn Sr. added, "am your father, a culinary maestro who delights in cooking. Whether you wish to learn the culinary arts or simply talk, I'll be here."
After the family got done introduce their self. Hello, our names are Linclon Loud, Lana Loud, and Lola Loud we used to live in the Orpah and were adopted by Jack and now we are here.
