Authors Note: I'm Back (I'll be saying this a lot). Thanks to Kay for becoming my Editor In Chief

Bobbi had been on the phone when Melinda came up to check on her. Bobbi was arguing with someone on the phone. "I will tell them, soon, I promise. Lance, I promise I will, just give me a little more time okay? Yeah, I love you too. Bye." Melinda was surprised by the whole end of that conversation.

When Bobbi turned she saw her and froze. "How long have you been standing there?" She asked nervously and Melinda pushed off the door frame and stepped towards her daughter. "Long enough to learn that there's something you should tell me." She offered and Bobbi turned from looking nervous, to looking tired.

"It's nothing bad, I promise. Dad might think it's bad, but he's just protective." Bobbi offered and Melinda had already figured out it was a boy, but that comment was proof enough for her. "I'll guess that means it's a boy?" She pushed and Bobbi sighed and nodded her head, moving to sit down on her bed.

"Yeah, but we don't know what's going on yet. I mean, he's really nice and I like him, but I don't know what's going to happen with him, long term I mean." She explains and Melinda moves to sit next to her on the bed. "So you don't want to introduce him to the family until you think it's going to last?" She asks and Bobbi nods silently. "Yeah, I mean I don't want anyone to get attached if it won't work out." Bobbi explained and Melinda nodded in understanding.

"How long?" Melinda asked and Bobbi's silence was a dead giveaway that it wasn't new. "Just gone 2 months." She finally offered and Melinda was silent for a moment. "That's quite a while, to still be deciding if he's going to work out. What's wrong with him?" She asked and Bobbi flustered quickly. "Nothing." She said far too quickly and Melinda raised a brow at her action and her daughter sighed and played with her hands in her lap.

"He tends to get into trouble." Bobbi finally admitted quietly and Melinda looked at her, waiting. "Not serious trouble, like with the law or anything, but he messes up sometimes. He'll jump into fights he shouldn't, talks back to anyone he wants, say things he knows will anger people." She admits and Melinda puts an arm around her. "Is that why you're worried about him meeting us? You're troublemaker boyfriend might act up, and cause a scene?" Melinda asked and Bobbi nodded quietly as she rested her head on her mother's shoulder.

"I remember when Natasha brought Clint home for the first time. Oh, that boy was trouble and I mean real trouble. He was uncivilised, didn't care about anything and I'd never seen two people fight like him and Nat did. But they completely adore each other. You wouldn't believe the amount of time your father had to chuck him out of the house. We always allowed him back, because he might say something or do something to get kicked out, but he knew he did wrong and would come back, tail between his legs and apologise and he'd be welcomed back in just like that." Melinda carefully explained.

She was sure that Bobbi didn't remember the early days of Natasha and Clint's relationship. She was only 10 herself and Clint was always perfect around the kids. Bobbi turned to look at her mother with surprise, not knowing this about her sister's boyfriend. "He was really trouble?" She asked and Melinda nodded quickly. "What I'm trying to tell you, is that you shouldn't be worried about introducing him to us. There's very little he could do, that would make us stop you dating him. If you love him and he loves you then that's all we need." Melinda carefully explains and Bobbi sighs into her mother's shoulder

The two of them sit there quietly for a few moments. "Do you love him?" Melinda asks into the silence and Bobbi answers quickly. "More than I thought possible." She admits, causing Melinda to smile and then get to her feet, before crouching down in front of Bobbi. "Does he love you?" She asks seriously. "I think I'm the only thing he cares about." Bobbi admitted and most people would be concerned by that statement, but Melinda had known enough troubled kids, that she understood what that really meant.

"Then let him come round. Let us meet him and let your dad scare the pants off him." Melinda says and Bobbi chuckled at that and smiled up at her mother. "Thanks, Mom." She says getting to her feet and Melinda pulled her into a hug. "Me and your dad only ever want for you guys to be happy. However that happens, isn't for us to decide." Melinda says and Bobbi hugs her tighter, before they're interrupted by a knock on the door.

"I was wondering where you'd vanished too." Phil says smiling at the scene and mother and daughter separate. "Phone him." Melinda says to Bobbi before she crosses the room to Phil. "Me and Bobbi were having a heart-to-heart." Melinda comments and pulls Phil away from the room, glancing over her shoulder to see Bobbi with her phone to her ear.

"Heart to heart about what?" Phil asked as Melinda dragged him downstairs. "She's got a boyfriend." She admitted and Phil spun round to look back at the stairs, but Melinda was quicker and kept a tight grip on his arm as she pulled him through to the kitchen. "Since when?" Phil asked quickly, and Melinda just smiled. "Couple of months, it would seem. She's nervous about him meeting us. We've got another fixer-upper." Melinda admitted with a small smile and Phil just looks nervous. He doesn't like his daughters dating and she finds it cute.

"I hate troublemakers." Phil admits and Melinda comes up behind him and kisses his cheek. "But you'll be nice and help him, like we did with Clint right?" Melinda ordered and Phil sighed and grumbled to himself. "Yes, of course I will, because it'll make Bobbi happy." He admits and Melinda smiles at that. "Good man." She says and wanders outside to find the rest of their kids, leaving Phil to grumble over the fact that another daughter has got a boyfriend.
