Previously...

I was interrupted by a pitch black darkness clouding my vision in a second.

Sophie's POV:

The white light blinded my eyes as I opened them with difficulty.

I rubbed my eyelids to try to make them less droppy. Because at the moment, I was quite sleepy.

Ugh, why is it so bright?, I complained in my mind.

Why was I so tired?

And why was every single inch of my body aching?

And did I mention: WHY WAS IT SO BRIGHT?

I sighed loudly from the luminosity illuminating the whole blank room I was in. I seemed to be lying in a weirdly comfortable bed. It was almost as comfortable as gnomish beds.

"Hello there Sophie Foster," a calm voice greeted from somewhere next to my big bed.

I suddenly sat up at the sound of those words. My heart was pounding against my ribs from fear.

The voice was kind of creepy. Maybe it was a Neverseen member?

"W-where am I?" my voice was quivering and it was slightly hoarse. From lack of water, probably.

When I sat up, I was met with a beautiful woman. The resemblance between her and Annabeth was striking.

She had the same piercing grey eyes and the identical curly blond hair.

Her soft, intelligent voice echoed in my ears as she whispered the words, "You're in Olympus, Sophie."

Annabeth's POV:

I groaned loudly as I woke up, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

Memories were simply a haze of light and color in my normally sharp mind. But in the present day, all I could hear was...

Voices.

Terribly. Loud. Voices.

I was pretty sure it was one woman and a younger girl. They seemed to be speaking next to me, but for my pounding head, it seemed as if they were shrieking into my ears.

As you could imagine, the sound caused me to open my sparkling grey eyes, squinting them because of how illuminated it was.

Now that I saw where I was, I looked down to see I was sitting in a bed.

"Where am I?" I groaned, my voice hoarse.

I sat up with difficulty with my tense back hurting.

"Hey Annabeth, still not a morning person I guess?" I heard Sophie Foster 's voice call from next to me.

I shook my head in denial.

"Nope." I answered dryly, not in the mood to use my scratchy voice.

"Well, I'm not a morning person neither so I guess it's normal." a female voice spoke up.

My eyes widened as I turned them to the woman seated on Sophie's bed.

"Mom?" I asked, before I could stop myself.

She smiled her usual intelligent smile with her eyes glinting.

"Yes, hi Annabeth." she greeted, with her grey eyes twinkling in the light, which I had gotten used to. "Now you both have a lot of explaining to do, and as a matter of fact, I do too." she added, her voice suddenly stern.

Sophie and I looked at each other.

Well, her life must have been a lot easier than mine. Though I needed to ask her what was the deal with that crystal thingy.

"Well, Annabeth, you start." Athena ordered.

Sophie's POV:

I simply stared at Annabeth in shock.

"Well, I guess you know everything now." Annabeth said as she looked at the ground after telling me her story.

I couldn't believe it.

The Greek Gods were real?

And this was Olympus?

When I was little, I had learned a lot about Ancient Greece, it had always interested me.

"So, you're saying that you're Athena's daughter and that everything about Greek Gods is real?" I asked.

Annabeth shifted uncomfortably. I guess she wasn't used to telling others about her life.

"Yeah." she agreed.

I watched her, my eyes wide. I knew I shouldn't have been shocked, after all, I had already learned I was an elf and had gone to a life where reading minds was normal. Learning that Greek Gods were real should have been a breeze. But the thing was, it wasn't.

Annabeth had spoken about all her adventures: the war with Kronos and the Titans, the Prophecy of the Seven.

It was really incredible how much she had gone through.

She had also talked about Percy Jackson, her boyfriend and son of Poseidon. Athena had grimaced at his name; she must have not like him very much.

"Well that's a lot to take in." I laughed nervously, tucking a strand of long blond hair behind my ear.

Annabeth chuckled with me.

"You have no idea." she said looking away.

Athena turned to me.

"Sophie, it's your turn." she told me, with her brilliant grey eyes boring into my brown ones.

I cleared my throat forcingly.

"Well, it all started with a boring museum trip, a dinosaur replica and unforgettable teal eyes..." I started.

Annabeth's POV:

I blinked at Sophie as she finished telling my mom and I her very long story.

And here I was thinking Sophie had an easy life, and that I had envied her for it.

Oh, how wrong I was.

She had talked about how she had met Fitz, a boy with dark hair and teal eyes when she was 12 in a museum, and that had led to her beating the Neverseen with her many powers.

She had told her story with so many more details than I had, Fitz had apparently once been her boyfriend, but when she had learned about her biological mother -which she had told no one about but me-, she had broken up with him. She was now in a relationship with Keefe, an ice blue-eyed boy with messy blond hair.

Her brown eyes had turned slightly dreamy when she had spoke about him. I had smiled when they had, I could tell she really loved him.

She had also spoken about how she had defeated the Neverseen with her friends, it was really impressive when she talked about it: Keefe had apparently killed his own mother, the leader of the evil group, Fitz had killed his brother who had betrayed and spied on them, and Sophie and the others had killed and imprisoned all the other members of the Neverseen.

And they had also suffered the guilt elves had once they killed people, even if it was a horrible person responsible for many deaths.

I didn't understand that last one; why would you feel guilty?

I guess it was another species. Sophie's species. She was an elf.

"And here I was, thinking that your life was so simple." I said, looking up at Sophie, my childhood friend.

She had changed a lot since I had last seen her.

Well, physically, she wasn't that different. She had the same gold-flecked eyes and her hair had only grown a little bit longer.

But in her attitude, anyone could see she was more confident, she could lead and she was ready to do what it took to save the people she cared about.

Kind of...

Like me.
