Annabeth's POV:
I laid my head onto my bed's pillow, trying to figure out who I would take to the quest for High School.I had just received a dream from my mother, Athena. She had told me I could only take one boy and one girl, due to our scent attracting monsters.
Bizarrely, she had said the same thing to Sophie. Maybe Elves also attracted monsters, though I wondered who she was going to choose.
Of course she would bring Keefe, her boyfriend, but I didn't see any other girl she could bring. Maybe Biana?
I shook my head.
Instead of thinking of who Sophie would bring, I should think of my own decisions.
Of course, I would bring Percy, I couldn't live without him.
But I was still hesitating between Piper and Hazel. They were both really helpful.
'Piper.' my brain whispered.
I nodded.
Hazel was still at Camp Jupiter, of course I could go get her, but it would be better without having to travel.
Plus, Hazel was younger than all of us, she would be a grade lower.
I checked the time on the clock positioned on my bed-side table.
9:45, it read.
I stretched my arms on the sides of my bed, yawning.
I rested back onto my white pillow, wanting to rest a little bit.
'Annabeth!" a familiar voice called in my head.
I bolted upright. I would recognise that voice anywhere, anytime.
'Sophie?' I thought.
Sophie sighed in what seemed to be relief.
'Yes, I can't believe I did it!' she said.
'Oh, you're doing that telepathic thing, right?' I asked, thinking in my head.
'Yep!' she answered. 'I just wanted to ask, did you receive that dream from Athena?'
'Yeah, I did, who do you want to bring?' I asked.
Sophie seemed to think for a moment.
'I'm actually not very sure. Of course, I'm taking Keefe, but I can't decide between Biana and Lihn.' she said, in a hesitant voice.
I thought for a second.
'Well, you seem friendlier with Biana, after all, you've known her for longer." I advised.
Sophie paused for a heartbeat.
'I'll think about it." she said simply, telling me this was something she had to deal with alone.
I thought for a second.
'Well, I'm taking Percy and Piper. I was thinking of Hazel at first, but she won't be in the same class as us." I said, in my head.
I could almost see Sophie nodding as she said.
"Yeah, that's good. I'm off to telling the group, I'm taking Biana like you told me." she told me, not paying attention.
"Okay, I should probably go too, bye!" I said, feeling the link fade away.
I could tell Sophie was worried. I was too.
I got up from my bed to see my whole cabin staring at me with their big grey eyes.
"Who were you talking to?" Malcom asked, itching his blonde hair.
I groaned.
"None of your business." I told him.
He looked at me as if I had just told him I had sprang branches from my head. But he just straightened his back and continued.
"We heard you're leaving in five days from now to go on a quest in High School." he said, while my other siblings nodded.
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"How did you know that?" I asked them.
"Percy." Malcom explained simply.
A loud horn sounded in the whole camp. I nodded and walked over to the door.
"We better go get breakfast, come on, I don't want to be on cleaning duty the whole five days left." I told them, waving them over.
"So you can only bring me and Piper?" Percy asked beside me as we walked on the path that circled around the strawberry fields.
"Yeah." I said simply.
Percy rubbed the back of his neck.
"Well, the others are going to be depressed after that." he said.
I laughed and playfully shoved him.
"Yeah, that's for sure." I told him, smugness in my tone.
Percy started running.
"The first one who finds everyone wins!" he called from in front of me.
"Hey!" I yelled.
I ran in the other direction to go and find the other Seven.
Minus Leo because he wasn't here.
'When is that guy coming back?' I thought to myself.
I ran to the cabins, trying to find everyone.
"Ha, I won!" I yelled at Percy, with Jason and Piper behind me.
Percy was standing under a shelter, to hide from the sun.
"I was too lazy to go get them, so I let you do it." he told me.
I rolled my eyes but didn't comment.
"So, Percy, could you Iris-Message Frank and Hazel?" I asked.
Percy nodded and did as I told him.
I turned to Jason and Piper, who had their hands slung together.
"What's going on?" Jason asked.
I hadn't told him about the Quest yet, I had been too tired to talk about it.
"I'll tell you when Hazel and Frank are here." I answered.
"Hi!" Hazel's voice called from the mist in the middle of the circle we were forming.
"Hey Hazel! Hi Frank!" I greeted. "So, we've got something to tell you..."
Piper's POV:
I walked back to the Aphrodite cabin, still thinking about Annabeth's speech.I was going on a new Quest, without my boyfriend to support me this time, to school, which I was most likely going to get kicked out of, with some mysterious kids whom I had never seen before and who were apparently elves.
Well, this might be a plan from Santa to spy on us. Might want to see if we should get presents or if we didn't deserve them.
Great, just great!, I thought to myself.
I entered the cabin, and installed myself next to my desk, rubbing my temples.
I didn't want to go to school. It had always been a torture to me.
But I had to help my friends, and the world apparently.
I got up from the desk.
I was going to do this.
