A/N: Fuck it the omake's canon now

"Glynda, we'll be receiving a guest tonight."

Not looking up from her mountains of paperwork, Glynda nodded. It was rare but not unusual for Vale's inspectors or officials to come down late at night to carry out some important inspection or discussion that required Ozpins or her undivided attention, although it was strange that Ozpin was giving her so little notice.

"Do I need to organize any additional security?"

"No, that won't be necessary, he'll be alone, I'm sure the two of us will be sufficient."

Based on Ozpin's demeanor, he didn't expect either of them to have to greet their visitor or make any preparations. "Is he arriving soon?"

"Yes, about 10pm. He will be going to the student dormitories, so please remember to adjust the security measures accordingly."

This gave her pause. "The student dormitories? What for?" They weren't due for any inspections or renovations.

"I believe that he's having what the kids today call a sleepover."

Glynda slowly set down the folder she was holding, bringing her hand to her temple to ward off the rapidly approaching headache. "Ozpin…"

Ozpin meanwhile, had grabbed another folder from his desk and was staring at it intently. "All for the sake of the budget Glynda, all for the budget…"

"A sleepover?"

"Yeah." Ruby was lacking all her usual chirpiness, likely because she knew how big a favor this was to ask. Her arms were behind her back, her feet were digging circles into the ground and she hadn't made eye contact once.

"You want to invite Jaune to sleep over tonight?" Yang set down her scroll, looking around like she was about to see the boy hiding behind a closet.

Weiss huffed. She had no stake in who Ruby was seeing, her concern was more practical. "We have school tomorrow."

"I know! We won't be staying up late or anything, we're just going to be playing video games and watching a movie, then Jaune will go straight home! It's just one night, you guys will be here!"

Yang turned to Weiss, obviously not willing to deny Ruby and damage their relationship unless Weiss was willing to side with her, causing the heiress in question to roll her eyes. "I suppose we do owe him for the food."

"YESSS! Thank you thank you!" Ruby leapt up, using her semblance to grab her phone and zip out the door.

Sighing with relief and exhaustion, Blake trudged out of the store. Advanced copies of the latest edition of Ninjas of Love had come out, and she'd managed to snag one for herself after two and a half hours of queuing. Honestly the price had been surprisingly low for such an advanced copy, but the wait had been the reason she supposed.

She chuckled to herself. If Ruby had wanted this she probably could've asked that guy she was with to rent out the whole store for her.

Huh. Speak of the devil.

The boy in question was walking down the street, whistling, holding a plastic bag of snacks and DVDs in one hand and a large backpack in the other. Ruby had texted her that the two were having a sleepover, guess that was tonight.

Secretly Blake wondered how he, or more specifically his family, had made their fortune. When they'd first met both Yang and Nora had asked, but his answer was evasive and made references to businesses in wildly different industries. Even now, there was nothing about him that really stood out. He didn't have the airs of a CEO or the wariness of a self-made man. Hell, right now he was walking without a care in the world, through some pretty run down bui-

She choked on her saliva.

Several dozen feet above the boy, watching him from the rooftops, was a face Blake hadn't seen in years.

Trifa?!

Blake breathed deeply, trying to calm her heart as she stalked after the pair. Jaune was still strolling ahead, blissfully unaware that a terrorist was stalking him.

One on one she could definitely take Trifa, Trifa didn't have aura and she'd been training at Beacon for months. The only problem was if any other White Fang members were here. She'd have to hold them off while Jaune escaped or more likely she would have to escort him all the way, which meant protecting a civilian while trying to fight multiple opponents.

She brought out her scroll. Jaune was heading to Beacon, meaning that either Trifa was going to strike soon, if that was what she was here for, or she was going to wait until after he left Beacon to attack. Not good. She'd have to contact Team RWBY or RNRP for support. They could sandwich Trifa and whatever other White Fang operatives were here between them.

She huffed with frustration. Wasn't he a multi-millionaire? Did he not have bodyguards? Either he was secretly some incredible fighter or he was simply a sheltered idiot who thought strolling through random neighborhoods at 10 at night in this part of town was safe.

Wait. Blake's eyes scanned the roofs, the figure of her ex-comrade now nowhere to be seen. Where was Trifa? Was she preparing to attack?

Screw it. She leapt out of cover and began sprinting towards Jaune.

"Blake?"

"Jaune!" She ran up to him, a little too quickly if his body language was any indication.

"C-can I help you?"

She ignored him, grabbing his arm and scanning in a circle around them.

Where did Trifa go? Her eyes darted around, but the rooftops and nearby alleyways were empty. The spider faunus had seemingly vanished into thin air.

"Come on." She grabbed his backpack, wrapped her arms around his arm and dragged him forward.

"Jaune! You're he- Blake? What are you doing together?" Ruby, who was waiting by the entrance to Beacon looked inquisitively at the two of them, then at their interlocked arms.

"I wish I knew."

"I wish you knew how to take things seriously!" Blake let go of his arm, infuriated, and he immediately began massaging it. "Aren't you rich?!"

His eyes flickered left and right like he was searching for a trap. "Uh, yes?"

"Then where the heck were your bodyguards?"

He looked perplexed. "I have bodyguards."

"Well where were they?! I didn't see anyone!"

He had the audacity to laugh. "Well if you see them then they aren't really doing their job, are they? What's the harm? I was just walking to Beacon."

"The harm? You were being stalked by a member of the White Fang! How on earth did you not notice?"

"The terrorist group?" Blake twitched, but rather than correcting himself Jaune Arc had the nerve to look incredulous. "Please, I'm pretty sure the White Fang has better targets than me."

Blake wanted to throttle him. "You're an untrained human with money. You're the literal best target they could get!"

'The White Fang?!" Ruby's aura shimmered into activity as she quickly grabbed the same arm, causing Jaune to yelp and complain as she scanned the rooftops. He waited until he could talk Ruby into letting go of his arm before turning back to placate her.

"Well, I'm still alive aren't I? C'mon, if this Trifa chick didn't get me then it couldn't have been that bad. I'll just call my chauffeur later and have them pick me up from the entrance or something."

Blood.

Trifa was used to the taste of blood. Enough of it had splattered onto her during fights for the taste to be familiar to her. But, none of it had been her own.

Sucking in breath through lungs that seemed to be on fire, she blinked, desperately trying to clear the fogginess. Even through the haze she could tell that several of her left back teeth were missing. Her hands and legs were bound, and the room was so dark that she could hardly even see the walls.

"...nothing. Not even an identification card."

"Well, it makes sense, nobody's going to carry their ID when trying to kidnap someone."

"Yeah but this makes it harder for us to get anything out of her."

A Faunus, his pupils square, leaned in and grabbed her hair, forcing a pained yelp from her as he forced her head up.

"It doesn't matter. She will talk."
