"The Betrayal"

Penny felt everything.
It made sure. At Elmore General Hospital, just like with the city in general, rules were lax.
Drugs easily "procurred" from locked cabinets. Tools snuck out of unlocked sheds. Nobody would know.
Other than It. Nobody knew where Penny was either. It planned ahead, selecting the best excuse. A date.
This helped get her alone.
All alone. With It.
Him. Even in control, It remembered everything he did. Call it an advantage of possessing another.
There was something. One event standing out from the others. Shame over all shames.
He proposed to her.
Brought her to a shed behind his house, all alone.
He gave her a ring.
Serenaded her.
But after putting all that effort in, what did she do?
How had she repaid his hard work?
"Oh, Gumball, I can't."
No.
She said… No.
And why? Because they were only twelve.
Lies followed. False acquiescence was expressed with a smile.
While his heart fell apart, shattered upon those words, he bit down. Held back the rage. Claws itched for release.
It took grinding his teeth to keep them sheathed.
To not pay her back in kind.
In blood.
In pain.
She'd hurt him. He should—
hurt her.
It spoke.
This wasn't Jealousy. That one had already been dealt with.
No. This was different. Not green.
Red.
teach her.
He tried to resist.
teach her what it feels like.
He did try.
teach her what happens to traitors.
But not enough.
His struggle quickly ended. It drowned what little of a conscience he had.
It drew Its plans day by day. Once solidified, It began to gather what It would need. Tools and drugs and rope.
It invited her on yet another date. Same time, same place. That shed. At night.
All alone.
She never saw the cloth dripping with chloroform.
It tied up her arms and legs. Gagged her mouth. Injected.
Chemicals did wonders to hamper resistance. They paralyzed, but didn't numb. That wouldn't do.
It wanted Penny to feel everything.
