Elodie's POV:
I was scrolling through my Instagram in front of the gates to Litterlock Secondary School when I felt someone tap on my shoulder."So, what do you want to know?" Annabeth whisper-asked me.
I thought for a few seconds.
"Your names for starters." I stated them, glaring at each and everyone of them.
I actually felt like I was in a spy movie, investigating criminals. I prayed they weren't actually terrorists, though they might have been, seeing what they had done to Mr. Galant.
I looked over at Sophie; her brown eyes weren't directed toward me, and they looked so filled with boredom, she looked like some kind of pretty zombie. Her blonde hair was some kind of curtain in front of her face, making it hard for me to see her. It was clear she didn't want to talk to me.
"Well, you know me, Annabeth. This is Percy, Keefe, Biana and Piper." she told me, though I wasn't really paying attention to who she was pointing at. I was looking at Sophie's eyes. They seemed a little bit red and puffy...
I nodded, doing as if I had seen who was who.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Elodie Moyes, but you already know that. I just wanted to ask you a question: Today, we didn't have History. Because the teacher was 'sick' was the excuse, but I know better. He was an ugly monster, and you killed him. With super powers?" I asked, almost gasping at the end of my speech, out of breath from the long sentence I had just formulated.
I had literally rehearsed this speech all night yesterday and this morning, planning on what I was going to say, and I was really nervous about how they were all looking at me so weirdly.
"Do you think we could go somewhere more... private?" Annabeth asked, looking around her as if she felt someone's gaze on us.
I nodded awkwardly.
"Sure. I answered. "Like where?"
Annabeth looked like she was hesitating, but still took a deep breath.
"Would you be okay with going to our place?" she asked, gritting her teeth and looking at Sophie with a guilty look. "No one will here us there." she added. I didn't know if she was talking to me or to Sophie, who was glaring at her.
Sophie finally shrugged, motioning she didn't care.
"I can just go to the kitchen and bake Mallowmelt or whatever. Better than here." she spoke for the first time, leaving me taken aback.
"Wait, you live all together?" I asked.
They all nodded.
"It's something we have to talk about." Percy, I believe was his name, told me while rubbing the back of his neck.
Once we entered their apartment, Sophie walked away, directly to the kitchen, muttering something under her breath.
"Don't worry, I'm sure she'll get used to seeing you again." Piper said reassuringly patting my shoulder.
I nodded, smiling.
"Thanks." I answered, feeling my shoulders relax slightly.
"Well, why doesn't Piper accompany you to the living-room so that we can join you in a few minutes?" Biana asked Piper and I cheerfully.
I smiled back at her.
"Sure!" I answered, before Piper led me to a room at the end of the large hallway of the seventh floor.
"So, yeah. This is awkward." I stated, crossing my arms over my chest with everyone sitting around the small table of the living-room.
Keefe shrugged.
"Yeah, but that's your fault. You're the one who's supposed to ask questions." he told me, looking at me expectingly.
I thought for a second, looking around to see everyone waiting to answer.
"What is 'Inflicting?" I asked the blonde-haired boy sitting across from me.
Keefe shifted uncomfortably. He opened his mouth just as Sophie entered the room with plates in her hands.
She made her way to the table to put the plates down, and seated herself on the couch next to Keefe, smiling at him softly. He grinned right back, and slung an arm around her shoulder.
"Let's start asking you questions, because we have a few of our own. Annabeth and I talked in Chemistry class, and I'm suspicious about something: How do we know you're not a Greek Monster that's been trying to kill Annabeth and I since we were five?" she asked me.
My eyes widened.
"Because I'm not?" I said hesitantly, but it came out in more of a question.
Wow, smooth argument Elodie, amazing, I thought to myself.
"Can you tell us a little bit about your parents? Is one of them unknown?" Sophie continued questioning.
I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Yes, actually. I have a step-father, and my mom doesn't like talking about my biological father, why?" I asked, feeling a little bit scared when they all looked at each other.
"Have weird things ever happened to you, like having dyslexia, or ADHD? Or maybe even making toilets explode?" Percy exclaimed, clutching the sides of his head as if it was going to explode any second now.
Annabeth clutched his hand.
"Percy, you're ADHD is making you think of things you shouldn't be thinking of." she told him calmly, pressing her lips together as if she was trying not to laugh.
I giggled at his hyperactivity.
"And what's up with blowing toilets up?" I asked.
Percy waved his hand at me nonchalantly.
"Long story." he told me, not adding anything more.
I shrugged.
"Well, I do have a slight dyslexia, and I've already received a hit with a bat from a guy, and I didn't feel anything." I told them. "Is that all?"
"Yeah, that'll be it. Your turn, ask away." Sophie told me, smiling for the first time in my presence, though it was more of a smirk.
I nodded at her, not sure what to tell her.
"What kind of species are you to be able to do that kind of stuff?" I asked them, not wanting to offence them.
Piper frowned.
"You think we're a species?" she asked me.
I waved my hands at her.
"Not at all! I'm just asking, because you're definitely not human to be able to do this kind of stuff." I corrected myself, feeling my body hyperventilating from nervousness. If I said one wrong word, I was out.
"Well, Piper, Annabeth and I, we're actually half-human, but go figure the difference. Half human, half... Greek God." Percy explained, gritting his teeth, looking like he regretted telling me this kind of thing.
I laughed.
"You mean like Zeus and Poseidon or stuff like that?" I giggled at him.
I was shocked when he nodded his head.
"Wait, you mean for real? This is not a hidden camera or anything?" I asked, smiling around at the room to whichever gadget was filming me.
Sophie snickered at Percy.
"Told you she wouldn't believe you, let alone believe what we are."
Percy rolled his eyes at her.
"Tell her then." he dared her.
"Oh, shut up. I think she's perfectly capable of believing anything. The rest of us, Keefe, Sophie and me are... Elves." Biana explained.
I felt my eyes widening, knowing she wasn't kidding.
"I'm assuming not the Santa kind." I stated.
Sophie shook her head before smiling at Keefe.
"You see, that's what all humans would say! Don't be surprised when they say that!" she laughed at Keefe, lying on his chest.
He rolled his eyes with a smile on his face.
"Fine." he smirked.
"Ew! Can you please stop? My eyes, I already get enough at home, but if you keep doing that even in front of a guest, I don't know what's going to happen when you're all alone." Biana told them.
The couple's cheeks turned a deep red. They both looked like tomatoes it was overwhelmingly cute.
I laughed alongside everyone else, feeling the group's attachments.
"So, we think you're a Demi-God." Annabeth stated, just as I was enjoying a slice of Mallowmelt.
I dropped the gooey cake in my hands into my plate.
"What?" I yelped, caught off guard.
Annabeth closed her eyes, looking like she was trying to be the most patient person possible.
"A Demi-God, like us. We explained it to you: Your father is non-existent, and you have special things, like Dyslexia and being ultra-resistant." she said quietly, as if to let me process all this easier.
"So, what do we do now?" I asked them.
Percy jumped into the conversation.
"Well, we don't know how powerful you are, but we have to take you to Camp Half-Blood, where all Demi-Gods go." he explained.
"But I can't leave my family." I scoffed.
Percy extended his arms at me in innocence.
"We'll let you think about it, but we think this has to do with the prophecy." he told me.
I stood from my seat.
"I think I'll go now, thank you so much for the cakes, they were amazing. Bye." I hurried off to the door of the living-room and ran all the way to the exit of the apartment.
I really had to clear my thoughts.
