Seth had just taught Rias the basics of battle, and even gave her her own Poke Balls incase she found more.
Right now, he was just looking over and cleaning his items he used in battle at times.
One is a small stone that was a rainbow in colors, with an emblem on it, placed in a bracelet.
A mysterious ring that enables Pokémon to use something called Z-Power, and a green crystal was in it.
The third was a white wristband with some red and blue highlights.
And as he did, he was wondering what the new item he got was. It was the item that Team Rocket wanted from the angel. It was an orb similar to a Poké Ball, only the bottom was black, and the top was clear, with a small crystal inside.
Just then, Issei came up to him, and said, "Hey Seth, I found this little Jackal like Youkia, and was wondering if you knew what it was. Rias said she never seen it before."
Seth saw the animal, and recognized it in an instant. It had a black torso and legs, a blue tail, and a yellow collar. It has rounded bumps on the backs of its forepaws. It has a black "mask" and red eyes. It stands on its toes instead of its entire foot. It is sensitive to a special type of energy called Aura; however, it does not have the ability to fully use these powers, although it can still emanate these waves to communicate and sense them, albeit only in ripples. It has two black appendages that hang down from its head.
"That's a Riolu," said Seth, "It's a fighting type Pokemon."
"A Pokemon?" asked Issei.
"Yeah, seems you found a partner. Riolu can be friendly and curious, so be sure to give it lots of love."
"Why?"
"Riolu will only evolve if it's shown the perfect amount of friendship."
"Can I see the entry?"
The Rotom Phone, and showed him the entry.
Riolu, the Emanation Pokémon. A Fighting Type. Riolu can understand how people and Pokémon feel by observing a kind of wave called aura. It has a flexible body with enough power to cross three mountains and two canyons in one night.
"Incredible," said Issei, "Also, what's with the other items you have?"
"Well," said Seth, picking up the bracelet with the rainbow stone, "This here, is the Mega Ring. With it, some Pokemon can go through a special transformation called Mega Evolution."
"Mega Evolution?"
"Yes, Mega Evolution is an evolution that transends all over evolutions. It brings out a Pokemon's true potential, and the bond it shares. I have a few Pokemon that can Mega Evolve. Here's one of Charizard's."
Issei and Riolu looked at the image.
It looked like Charizard, only it was black, with blue flames and underbelly, jagged wings, spikes on it's shoulders and back, and blue flames sticking out the sides of it's mouth.
"Woah!" said Issei, "That looks awesome!"
"And sometimes, it changes the type too."
"It does?"
"Yeah, in this form, Charizard is a Fire/Dragon Type. Oh, I just thought of something."
Seth then handed Issei something.
"Riolu can Mega Evolve when he evolves into Lucario," said Seth.
"Oh, thanks buddy. What are the rest?"
"Oh, this is a Z Ring. It allows a Pokemon to use a Z-Move. When using it, a Trainer and Pokemon's wishes combine to unleash an attack comprising the full power of both. These moves are very powerful, but they can only be used once per battle. And Z-Moves are able to be used by all Pokemon. Although some have certain limits."
"Cool," said Issei, "What else is there?"
"Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing. Basically, Dynamaxing makes the Pokemon grow to massive sizes. Gigantamaxing is when a Pokemon has a special appearance that is unique to the Pokemon. Like Lapras has."
"Wow," Issei, "that is massive."
"I know," said Seth.
"What about that last one? The shiny orb?"
"I really don't know," said Seth, "It's what Team Rocket wanted from that Fallen Angel. Wait a minute, Rotom got an update, maybe it can tell us what it is!"
Rotom scanned the orb, and said, The Terasta Orb allows the Pokemon to Terastalize is a temporary transformation affecting the Pokémon. This transformation gives the Pokémon a gem-like appearance along with changing into the exclusive Tera Type.
There is a lot of mystery surrounding the Terastal phenomenon and why it only happens in Paldea. Professors Sada and Turo are both known to be researching this mysterious transformation.
When the Pokemon is Terastalized, it gains a diamond like form with a crown showing it's Terra Type.
"Woah," said Seth, "That's actually impressive. I never thought something like that could happen."
"So, they'll be made of diamonds when they Terass-talize?" asked Issei.
"Terastalized," said Seth with a laugh, "And no, they'll look like it, but not really."
"So, you think I could do it?"
"If you can achieve Mega Evolution, you can do the rest. Now, how about a test? Wanna test Riolu's power?"
"Sure!" said Issei, "So what do I do?"
"Simple, you can look at the moves that Riolu has, and command what he has to do. Just remember to tell him to dodge or block if you can."
"Oh, I see," said Issei.
"Now, Eva, care to show him?"
"What?"
"Hey, you have the type advantage. Fighting Types are super effective against Normal Types."
Issei then looked at the moves Riolu has.
Mega Punch
Iron Tail
Power-Up Punch
Quick Attack
"Okay," said Issei, "I think I got it. Let's do it!"
A VS image of Seth and Issei slams on the screen, and then splits to show the two facing each other.
"Let's do this Eva!"
"VOI, YEE!"
"Riolu, go!"
"Okay, Eva, Use Quick Attack!"
"Dodge and Use Mega Punch!"
Riolu did, and punched Eva hard.
"Eva!"
Eva then got up, and shook off the dust.
"Okay, use Swift!"
Eva did, and Riolu took a massive hit.
"Woah," said Issei, "Do some moves hit home?"
"Yes," said Seth, "However, don't get distracted. USE IRON TAIL!"
"You use Iron Tail too!"
The two clashed, and dust flew up.
"Use Power Up Punch!"
"Double Kick!"
Eva then kicked the punches away.
"QUICK ATTACK!"
The two Pokemon then charged towards each other, and rammed their heads together.
They were then launched across the battlefield.
"You okay Eva?"
"Voi."
"Riolu?"
"Lu!"
"Okay, use Double Kick once more!"
"Use Mega Punch!"
Eva then charged, and Riolu jumped up, and rammed his fist down, only for Eva to dodge, and kick Riolu in the face twice, making the Pokemon faint.
"Riolu!"
Riolu then smiled, and got up the best he could.
Seth then gave Issei a PokeBall.
"You can put Riolu in that to keep him safe, and let him rest. Just tap the button on him."
Issei did just that.
"Come with me," said Seth, "Rias made a spot to heal the Pokemon if you need to."
"How come Eva isn't in her Poke Ball?" asked Issei.
"Some Pokemon don't like it in their Poke Balls. Eva's one of them."
"Oh, I see," said Issei.
