I groaned as I stepped off the plane and stretched my arms above my head as Adrian appeared beside me. I looked at him and smiled as we looked around.
'I can't wait to get back to Hogwarts.'
Adrian thought and I nodded enthusiastically as we followed our parents through the airport, collected our luggage and Phantom's carrier and made our way through it.
'Me either...Phantom really likes to go running through the Forbidden Forest at full size. Last year I caught him racing the Unicorns.' Adrian started laughing and everyone around us turned to look at us curiously as our mom looked at us and smirked gently.
"I don't know what you two are talking about, but can you please keep it down a little bit while we are around the no majs?" She whispered and Adrian and I stifled another laugh and then nodded."
"Sorry Mom." We replied softly and then we all climbed into the cab and settled into the back seat as we made our way through the streets of London. Eventually we made it to the hotel and up to our room. Adrian and I raced into the room we'd be sharing for the next week and deposited our luggage on the bed, and I opened Phantom's carrier and let him out.
'It's about fucking time...' Phantom groaned as he stretched and then hopped into the windowsill and curled up in the patch of sunlight.
'I'm sorry Phantom...but you know that we can't just portkey over the ocean every year. Dumbledore did try to set up another portkey, but mom and dad wanted to do the whole dropping us off for school thing and since they didn't have the chance to do that last year, they wanted to do it this year.' He huffed quietly and closed his eyes, and I gently ran my hand down his back as Adrian walked over.
"Is he okay?" I shrugged.
"I think he's just upset about the long flight and having to act like a normal cat for the next week."
"Ahh..." Adrian said and then reached over and then paused and looked at me, when I nodded, he gently scratched his ears. "His fur is..."
"Yeah, I know, it's really cool."
"Poor Phantom...how about we bring you back something special when we come back?" Phantom's response was to start purring loudly. I smiled and turned to Adrian.
"What do you wanna do first?" I asked as I bounced excitedly as he bit his lip thinking silently and then he said.
"Kensington Garden." I smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, that tracks." I said as we went back to the living area where our parents were sitting on the couch relaxing after the flight. "Mom, dad can Adrian and I go to the Kensington Garden?" I asked, still bouncing slightly. Mom looked at us and smiled.
"How far is it?" she asked tiredly.
"Umm...I think it's a couple of blocks, but we can go by ourselves...we could take Phantom with us." I countered. They looked at each other for a minute and then mom called Phantom in the room.
"Phantom, the kids want to go to the Kensington Garden do you care to go with them?" For a moment no one said anything and then Phantom jumped up on my shoulder and settled himself down comfortably. I smiled at him and then turned to mom as her and dad both looked at us. "Alright, I suppose it'll be fine just be back here in by 8 tonight and be careful. Don't use magic unless you absolutely have to and have a good time." We hugged them both and then dashed out of the room laughing. Twenty minutes later we had made it to the garden. The three of us made our way through the gardens taking in the sights, taking a few pictures as we did. Once we'd exhausted that revenue Adrian turned to me and asked where I'd like to go now since we still had a few hours left before we had to return to the hotel.
"British Museum." I said immediately and he chuckled softly and motioned to Phantom who was still stretched across my shoulders.
"How're we going to get him in there?"
'He's a shadow cat Aide...he can literally blend into the shadows and become one, besides my hair is black he can probably blend into that.'
I replied silently. "Oh yeah... I forgot he could do that." I shook my head as he motioned for the exit and the three of us left. And after a brief walk through the streets of London, we made it to the museum, and I Started fidgeting excitedly.
'You're practically vibrating Sylvr.'
Phantom said and Adrian snorted, and I knew that he'd spoken to both of us. "Listen I can't help that I enjoy history." I replied as my eyes scanned the area, while no one was watching Phantom, shifted his position and all of a sudden it was as if he weren't there, he'd blended into my hair perfectly and had I not known he was on my shoulders and couldn't feel his weight on my shoulders I would have never known he was there.
"You know...that's really fucking cool." Adrian muttered
"Awe Aide don't be jealous. I'm sure we'll find you a super fucking awesome familiar." I tried it and he looked at me before rolling his eyes and we entered the museum. When we got the Ancient Egyptian area, my excitement doubled as I slowly walked around the room trying to absorb everything I saw. "Can you imagine what it must be like over there?" I whispered as Adrian laughed softly and I felt Phantom bump the back of my head with his gently.
"No...but I'd like to find out...but today is not that. Come on we should head back to the hotel or mom and dad will be worried." With that we left the museum and headed back to the hotel, and so we passed the next few days. Until it was time to go to Diagon Alley to so that we could get our school supplies.
