A Little Hazbin 3 Rise of the Nephilim Ch. 03
"Okay!" Charlie walks back into Celest's room carrying a large pile of clothes. "I've brought some of mine and your Mama's clothes and…" she threw them onto the bed. "I even found some from when your Grandma was living with us. Surely something among this will fit."
The full-grown Celest looks at the choices and just starts picking at them, not entirely sure what to go with.
Vaggie glances between the clothing and her daughter. "Would you like our help?"
"No, Mama. I'm good," the grown child didn't even bother looking back at the Fallen Angel. She holds a shirt up to herself and grabs a pair of jeans. Celest then turns around to see her parents still standing there. "Uh, Moms. I know that I was eight, er, three yesterday, but I can dress myself," the girl pauses and notices that her parents weren't moving. "May I have some privacy, please?"
"Oh? Sorry, Sweetie," Charlie starts dragging her wife out of the door. "We'll just be waiting outside in case you need us."
As soon as the door closes both women let out a sigh and Vaggie leans against the door before sliding down it.
The acting Queen looks down at her wife. "You want to talk about it?" and sits right next to her.
"Why did this have to happen? Celest is supposed to a kid. Our Kid! Now she's a full-grown adult!" the former Exorcist takes a deep breath. "I thought we had a little more time with her."
"She may have grown far faster than what we wanted her to. But does that change the fact that she is our kid?"
"No," Vaggie shakes her head. "But that doesn't mean I don't want her back. I'm going to miss her cute smile, that adorable nose, and her eyes. Her eyes were always full of wonder. I'd give anything for her to be like that again. I don't want her like that!"
Unbeknownst to them, Celest is leaning with her ear against the door, overhearing the conversation. The Not-so-Little Hazbin grabs some jeans that stop at her ankles and a red t-shirt to throw on and opens a portal out of her room.
"But I'm just glad that nothing's wrong with her," Vaggie lets out a sigh. "Even if she remains the way she is, I'm still going to love our daughter," she then gets a peck on the cheek. "What was that for?" she smiles at her wife.
"I was hoping that would make you feel better," Charlie shrugs."And it looks like it worked." The Hotel owner then knocks on the door. "You ready, Celest?" silence. "Celest?..." not receiving an answer again, both moms got up and threw the door open to find the room empty.
The parents look at one another before running out while shouting "Celest!"
.oOo.
Celest finds herself walking down the hall at the other side of the Hotel.
"Mama doesn't want me anymore?..." her mind ponders. The Not-so-little Hazbin was so focused on her feet that she didn't notice anything else. "Oof!" and soon finds herself on the floor once again.
"I am so sorry!"
A familiar voice reaches Celest's ears. "That's alright," she rubs her butt for what must have been the third time today. "I've been rather clumsy today…" the girl trails off as she looks over at the woman in front of her.
"I wasn't paying attention either," the woman with near flawless grey skin tells Celest while picking up some paperwork.
Celest is confused. She's seen this woman many times before, but something feels different and for some reason the now grown Celest couldn't peel her eyes away as she thinks about her almost pure white hair. She then tenses slightly as the woman's sparkling blue eyes turn to her.
"I'm Emily," the assistant manager holds out her hand.
"I'm, I'm…" Celest tries telling her who she is, but her voice keeps getting caught in her throat.
"You must be new?" the Fallen Seraphim stands up and helps the stranger in front of her get up. "I try to memorize everyone's faces and I don't recall someone… so tall…" Emily looks away as a tint of red appears on her face, using the excuse that a hair was out of place in an attempt to hide it.
Celest suddenly feels her own face heating up.
Emily then lets out a cough. "Anyway. If you're lost, I can at least show you to the entrance. It's easier to find where you're going from there," and starts leading the tall woman down the hall. "I would take you personally but," she checks her watch. "I have a busy schedule for the rest of the day."
"But it's still early—Ouch!" Celest let out as they pass under an archway, and she didn't think to duck.
"Are you okay!?" Emily reaches up as high as she can in order to place a hand over the tall woman's head and manages to feel a small lump.
The Not-so-Little Hazbin can feel her face warming up again. "Y-yeah. I wasn't this tall yesterday. It's an adjustment."
"Oh?" the Assistant Manager's eyes widened while stepping back. "I figure you were new here, but I didn't realize you were new to Hell."
"Oh, no! You see…"
"Don't worry," Emily smiles at who she assumes to be a new guest. "I know that it's an adjustment. My case may not be exactly the same as yours…" she glances behind her back as if she was expecting to see something there. "But I'm sure your stay here at the Hazbin Hotel will be comfortable. Where we believe that inside every demon is a rainbow."
That enthusiasm was so contagious that Celest couldn't help but smile. "What else can you tell me about this hotel?"
"Well, this place was started by Charlie Morningstar, our very own princess and currently acting Queen. She believed more than anyone that even the vile of sinners can be redeemed…"
.oOo.
"And here we are!" Emily waves over the entrance area. "You should be able to find your way back from here. And if you're interested in a drink, the bar is just through that doorway. I personally don't see the appeal," the Angel shrugs. "But everyone lets loose their own way. Just tell the Concierge that the first round is on me. I guess I'll see you around?"
"Y-yeah. I'll see you around, Ms. Emily," Celest glances at the angel while looking away.
At that, the Fallen Seraphim furrows her brows while tilting her head, feeling something familiar about the woman before her. She then shakes her head before walking off.
The Not-so-Little Hazbin turns to the doorway as she started thinking. "A drink? One wouldn't hurt would it?" and starts walking into the room.
NOTE: Sorry about the lack of updates. Life just started hitting me and found little to no time to actually write or even to check on my account. Really can't promise how often I can post more chapters and anything. I've not given up on this or any of my other stories. Life has just left me physically, mentally, and creatively exhausted.
