A Little Hazbin: Rise of the Nephilim Ch. 15

Celest looks around and is confused by the fact that she's currently sitting in the lounge of the Hotel.

"I'm home?" she is then startled by a new voice.

"Not quite."

The grown child lets out a shriek as she turns to see an unfamiliar man behind the bar. There doesn't seem to be anything unusual about the man. He seems normal. Neither demon nor angel. But the girl still feels something about him. A connection.

"It's actually my own little pocket just out of reach from the known creation. I thought you'd be more comfortable in someplace familiar. So, I did a little redecorating," he is currently searching through the selection of whisky. "That Husk sure does love his alcohol. Not so different in death as he was in life really. Don't drink much myself," he turns to her with a kind smile. "Then again. Neither do you after your first taste," he walks around the counter and over to her. "How about tea instead?"

"Tea would be fine. How do you know about that?" Celest watches him walk around and in front where there is suddenly a table with a full tea set spread across it. She knows this wasn't there a moment ago.

"I know a lot of things," he pours two cups. "Many would say I know everything. Sugar?" he picks up a spoon and scoops up some sugar.

"Yes, please! If that's the case, then can you tell me exactly where I came from? That seems to be the one mystery that no one can answer."

"That's simple, really. I'm surprised no one has figured it out yet," the man puts some sugar into Celest's cup. "You are a miracle born from the blessing of not one," he adds another scoop. "But two angels," and mix it into the tea. "You being the Nephilim was a mere chance of fate. As they are only born when Creation itself deems they are needed."

The grown child raised a brow at that. "I don't understand. Only Mama is an angel."

The man lets out a chuckle while preparing his own drink. "You think so?" he then takes a seat. "Most people tend to forget that Lucifer, your grandfather was in fact an angel himself. An archangel for that matter. Meaning your mother, Charlie, has angelic blood as well. I think it's because many of them don't like the idea that something bad can come from someplace good as that would get them to consider that bad can come from good."

At that, Celest glared. "My grandpa's not bad!"

"Perhaps not but that doesn't change the fact that he… fell," the man looks away for a moment. "Treasure your family and loved ones, Celest. That's an important fact of life."

"I know! It's what I learned from my Moms," she tilts her head. "Aren't you close to yours?"

"I have not been close to them for a very long time," he faces her and leans forward. "One of my children disobeyed me out of spite and I punished him for it. I do not believe I was in the wrong but sometimes I wonder, what if I had done some things differently? Life for us could be better but it could also be far worse. Since then, I removed myself from their lives to think. I check in on all my children every now and then. Had even thought about stepping in once I witnessed moments I was not fond of. But I'm not sure they're ready for my return. Nor that I am ready."

"Maybe you should talk to them," Celest smiles at the man. "Sometimes to work through conflict just begins with sorry."

The man smiles. "You are very much like your mother. Makes me wish to see my own granddaughter."

"Oh! You have a granddaughter?"

"Indeed, I do. I also have a great-granddaughter," he takes up his drink for the first time and takes a sip. "I should go and see them someday. Not many are willing to give second chances. It's great to see that you believe in such. That was a very kind thing you did for them."

"I had to," she looks down in sadness. "I started something bad and wasn't able to stop it. So, I repurpose it for something good. It was the right thing to do. I just hope it's something my moms would approve."

"I'm sure they will," the man smiles once more before setting his cup down. "Before you return, Celest. May I request that you deliver a message for me to someone in Hell?"

"Sure!" the Not-so-Little Hazbin is glad to do so. "Who's it for?"

.oOo.

"Celest!"

"Celest!"

"Celest!"

Celest can hear someone calling her name and when she opens her eyes, she finds both her parents leaning over her.

"Mom! Mama!" she hugs them. "You're okay! You're both okay! I'm so glad it worked."

"Yes, Sweetie," Charlie tightens her embrace around her daughter as does her wife. "All thanks to you, everything is okay."

They were soon surrounded by their friends and family as well as the various demons and angels.

Then the shouting is heard. "Get your filthy hands off me! Do you know who I am! I'm the f(bleep)ing D(bleep)k Master!"

A figure is brought to the front and when they look up, it's revealed to be Adam lacking any of his demonic features. He managed to elbow one of the demons who had a hold of him, he tried making a getaway. Only to have a portal open before him and a car comes out to hit him just as the portal closes.

The window of the driver's side rolls down, and Lucifer sticks his head out. "Did I hit someone?"

The passenger side window then rolls down to reveal Lilith. "Careful, Luci! There's a baby in here," she then turns to the front to see the first man groggily get up. "Adam?"

The King of Hell sets the car in reverse, backs up, puts it back in drive and stomps on the peddle. Only to stop by a strange yet familiar woman to jump in front of them.

"Grandpa! Wait!"

The brakes are then slammed, and the King and Queen stared wide-eyed at the now grown Celest.

Lucifer turns to his wife and asks. "How long were we gone again?"

Charlie runs up to the vehicle. "Dad!?"

"Char-char!" the King hops out of the car to hug his daughter. "We came as soon as we got your messages. And…" he moves away so his wife can walk up to them, carrying a bundle. "There's someone we want you to meet."

Lilith lowers her arms to reveal a pale blonde baby with two tiny little horns. "Charlie. Meet your little brother. Damien."

"Aw!" the acting Queen coos. "It's nice to finally meet you, Damien. Vaggie, Celest. Come meet the newest member of our family." Her wife and daughter walks up to them.

The moment is then ruined.

"Great! Another Lucifer brat!" Adam spits out.

Lilith glares at him before passing her son to her daughter and approaches him. The Queen then eyes the gem on his robes. "That's mine?" and quickly snatches it. "But there's no magic?"

Celest then steps up with a hand raised. "That's kind of my fault. I had it removed after an emotional breakdown."

The grandparents then walk up to her and Lucifer removes some hair from his granddaughter's face. "What happened to you, Celest?"

"A lot happened," Charlie returns her little brother to her mother. "It's a long story."

"Skip the once upon a time!" Adam snaps. "Change me back! Better yet, make me an angel again!"

"I can't," the Not-so-Little Hazbin raises her hands, and the red and gold orb of light appears. "Even if I wanted to," the light then flickers before disappearing.

Lucifer realized what's going on. "You're no longer the Nephilim?"

Vaggie turns to her daughter. "Why would you do that?"

"Because it's not who I want to be. I don't want to be this legendary being that can surpass everyone. I just want to be Celest Morningstar," she turns to her parents. "Your daughter." the grown Celest is then hugged by her parents.

It was then the first man snaps. "So I'm stuck like this!? You did this to me!" he tries to run up to her but is pushed back by Lucifer's magic.

Her grandfather turned Celest. "What did you do to him exactly?"

"I restored his mortality. He's human."

That shocked everyone.

Adam pushes himself back up, "Why the f(bleep) would you do that?"

"Because I figured out what your problem is," Celest walks up to him. "You've been spending eternity just thinking about what my grandfather took from you; you decided to try and take whatever you can from him. You let that hate corrupt you and in the end, Adam. you forgot the true value of a mortal soul. Demon or not, mortal or not, all souls have value," she holds out her hand. "This is your chance to relearn those values. And depending on how you live you can return to Heaven. And even if you end up back here. We know for a fact that Hell isn't forever," the grown child turns to Sir Pentious. "Though…" she pulls away. "I guess it would have been better if I sent you to Earth for that."

Sera then walks up to them. "I can take care of that," she throughs her hands out and a portal opens.

"So that's it?" Adam turns to them. "You're sending me to Earth by myself?"

At that, Celest smiles. "Who said you'll be by yourself?"

"Sir?" a familiar voice calls out and walking up to them is a Commander with more color added to her skin, who has somehow regrown her missing limb that is carrying her mechanical one, and missing her wings.

Adam stares at her as she walks up to him. "Lute?"

"I feel… weird," she keeps glancing at her new arm. "And I'm pink."

The first man smirks. "You'll get used to it, babe," and wraps an arm around her. "Let me show you the ropes of being human," and starts to escort her to the portal but they are stopped by Sera who holds out her hands.

Understanding this, Lute hands over her mechanical arm to the seraphim and the two finally depart to Earth and the portal closes.

Sera then turns to Celest. "You have done well, Celest. I was wrong about you," she then looks over the rest of the Morningstars. "About all of you and I am sorry for that. You have reminded me what humility truly is," she then puts her attention to the Exorcists. "There will be no more Extermination! We have proof that Hell is not forever!" she then gestures to where Sir Pentious stands. "Hell is changing for the better and it's time that Heavan does the same! All of you need to return home!"

At that, all the Exorcists took off, heading back through the portal to Heaven.

The High Seraphim once again turns to the Morningstars. "Live well, Morningstars."

They family smiles at her and Charlie says, "We plan to."

Sera returns the smile and prepares to take off when a voice stopped her.

"Mom?"

She turns to her daughter. "Emily," the older seraphim kneels. "With this change, there is a chance that you can return to Heaven. But I have a feeling you have a home elsewhere," she eyes the Morningstars and more closely, Celest as they continue fawn over the newest member of their family.

Emily blushes slightly. "Yeah, well, it would be nice to visit."

"And even if you can't, I will make sure to visit you," she kisses her daughter on the forehead. "Now, I must return to my post as we'll have to discuss what to do about the Risen," she then glances at the Sinner who made it into Heaven.

The young seraphim's eyes widen as it lands on the Snake before turning back to her mother. "You mean?"

"Yes! There are others," Sera confirms. "I know you are not big on secrets given what I kept from you but please keep this to yourself until I can assure their return. If they wish to, of course."
