(Violet's Pov)
I was woken up by some movement on the bed. I open my eye a bit and look to see Clementine as she moved in her sleep. I place my hand on her side gently and she seemed to have calmed down a bit at the touch. I watch her as she slept and she moved closer to me, I wrap my arms around her as best as I could and she has her head near my neck. I place my chin on the top of her head and she tried to move even closer to me. it was like she felt that I would go away, or at least whoever she was dreaming of would go away.
She sighs in her sleep and I gently move my hand to rub her back a bit. Was she having a bad dream? What was it about? Should I ask her? No that seemed a little too invasive, if she wants to tell me she can. I looked to the wall a bit and kept rubbing her back some more. I feel her move a bit and then I hear her mutter in her sleep.
"Hmm, Vi?" She asked and I move my head to look down to her.
"Yeah?" I asked and she looked down a bit. She stays silent and I keep rubbing her back gently. She looked to me and then back down as she put her face back into my neck.
"You're warm." She mutters and I chuckled a bit at this.
"I thought we agreed I was your personal heater." I tell her and she nods gently. I feel her move more onto me and I smile and just look to the wall a bit. I take a breath and closed my eyes a bit as I tried to go back to sleep. It wasn't long till Clem fell asleep and I was able to move a bit as I removed myself from Clementine and I went and grabbed another quilt for her. The room was a little cold and I went to put some more woods on the flame.
I look to the flames a bit and I look to the window. The snow had stopped falling which I was happy for. I then think as I look over to my bad and decided I wanted to surprise Clem with something. So I go and grabbed my bag and then the side arm and went out the door. I made sure it was locked up good before I left. I head down to the town and found some stuff we could have at the Cabin, some glass cups and there were a bunch of candles as well that we could use.
I looked around another shop and found a gun shop too. I go in and look around to find maybe a few bullets here and there and I find this really great looking gun. It was a revolver with a wooden handle and it still looked brand new. I mean it was in a display case and not out in the open. I test it out to make sure it was working well and it did. I smile and place the revolver in my back pocket and found some ammo for it. I place the boxes in my bag and then once done I head back out.
I was walking back to the cabin when I hear something snap. I look to the side a bit and looked to make sure it wasn't a Walker. I stay quiet until something comes up from behind tackling me to the ground. I turn just a bit before I was kicked in the gut and I groaned as I curled into myself.
"You fucking bitch." I hear and before I was kicked again and I grabbed the foot and pulled it making the person fall. I see that it's Till and I glare at her as I get up from the snow. I stumbled a bit before I am tackled from the front and slammed into the ground again. The glass breaking in my backpack making that crunching sound. I look up to her and I tried to punch her in the face but she grabbed my arm and slammed it into the ground.
"You're the fucking bitch she talked about? HA! YOU?!" She laughed and I tried to get her off of me. She grabbed something from her side and showed off her big hunters knife.
"You are the reason she doesn't want to be with me?" She asked as she put the knife to my cheek and I look to her as I feel the cold metal touching my skin. I tried to stay calm as I looked to her then to the knife.
"ANSWER ME!" She yelled.
"She… she and I aren't together we-."
"YOU ARE A LIAR!" She yelled and then I kicked her but she sliced my cheek. I could feel the blood as I hurry and get up. I throw my backpack to the side and went to grab my gun. As I pull it out of my pocket, I look up just as she punched me making me drop the gun.
"SHE WANTS TO BE WITH A WEAK BITCH LIKE YOU?! YOU CAN'T EVEN FIGHT ME!" She yelled as I moved to grab the gun but she slammed her boot to my hand and I groan a bit. She grabbed the gun and removed the magazine and threw it to the side and then threw the gun to the other side.
"No fucking guns." She says and I look up to her. She moved her boot off my hand and I watch as she messed with the knife. I slowly get up and she looked to me.
"She never loved you." I say and she laughed at this.
"I was there for her, I was there longer than you." She says as she came up to me and slammed her fist into my face and I fall back into the snow.
"GET UP!" She yelled but I didn't move and I look up to her.
"GET UP YOU DUMB BITCH!" She yelled and I slowly get up. The wind was picking up and I look to her as I take a breath and look at her.
"She never loved you; she hates relationships." I tell Till and she glares at me. I coughed a bit and shake my head as I tried to breath a bit.
"Bullshit." She says as she points her knife at me.
"We aren't together, we never were together." I tell her and she comes up to me and places the knife near my neck. I was scared but damn I was stubborn.
"She… never… loved… you." I say and she punched me again and grabbed my shirt as she made me look at her. She made sure to keep the knife near me and I just looked to her.
"She tell you that?" She asked. I look at her as I see her looking into my eyes. She then shoved me to the ground and I look up to her.
"She, would stay with someone weak as you." She says as she bends down and waved the knife in my face.
"You are worthless, you can't even fight back, and yet she stays with you." She says and I watch her and then grabbed at her arm as she tried to slash me with it. She was able to moved to get on top of me and I tried to keep the knife away from me but as I had it to the side my grip slipped from the melted snow. I feel a pain in my side and looked down to see the knife handle touching my side. Knife was deep inside my side and I look to her.
She pulls the knife out and it's covered in blood and then she stabbed me again but this time around my abdomen. As she pulled the knife out, I quickly move her off me and grabbed the knife myself. I was able to turn it so the knife was pointed to her chest. The adrenalin running high for me as I look to her. I keep pressing down as she tried to keep me from stabbing her in the chest.
"YOU BITCH!" I yelled and she kicked me off her. I hurried up and I could feel the blood pouring but I didn't care. I go and punch the bitch in her face and she falls back as I looked to her. She looks to me and I place my hand to my abdomen wound and I grimaced a bit. I take a few breaths and I watch her as she gets back up. I move my hand away this time slamming her into the ground.
I keep punching her with my bloody fist to the point she seemed dazed and I get up and off of her. I stumbled a bit and I look to the side a bit as I see the knife. I looked to her and take a few deep breaths and went and grabbed the knife. I picked it up and looked to her as she was out of it. I go over to her a bit, stumbling as I finally reached her. I look down at her, her face was bruised and I get to my knees next to her and she looked to me.
"Fuck…. Fuck you." She says and I look to the side a bit and then looked down to her. I hold the knife and placed the blade to her chest. I take a few breaths and then lifted the knife and stabbed her in the abdomen. I look to her as she groaned in pain and I pulled the knife out look to her as she moved her hands.
"You…" She stopped as I stabbed her again and I falter a bit. I was tired, guess it was from the blood lose. But I have to admit if I could take this bitch out before I died, I'd at least die doing something. I moved to stand up but I fall to the ground and look to her as I was seated. I take a few more breaths and then tried to get up. I look to the girl and then moved to my backpack and grabbed it.
I look to see all the blood in the snow and I fall to the ground. I took off my jacket and wrapped it the best I could to my wounds. I was freezing cold but I had to get home. I grabbed the bag and started to walk back to the cabin. I could hear some groaning and I see a Walker and I backed up a bit. They were moving really slow so I had time. I get close to the Cabin and the door busts open and Clementine is running up to me.
She looked to me and I dropped the bag. I feel her grab me and keep me up. She looked scared and I take a few breaths and looked down. She looks down and I see her noticing the blood as she quickly looked up to me from looking at her hand. She called for AJ to help her and they both helped me inside the cabin. I falter a bit and they helped me to the couch and groaned a bit just as Clementine removed the jacket. I place my hand on the abdomen wound and she looked to my side a bit. She then moved my hand to look at my abdomen.
She looked worried as she hurried and got the first aid kit and I tried to stay calm as I looked to the blood and AJ came up just as Clem came over. I feel pressure on my side and abdomen and I finally end up blacking out. I don't know how long I was out but I felt something on top of me. I open my eye and look to see a large quilt on me. I then look to the side to see the flames in the fireplace and I then see Clem and AJ as they come into the room.
Clementine comes over to me and I tried to sit up but she stopped me. She says something but I can't understand what she is whispering to me. I turn my head to the side a bit and look to her as she looked to me. I take a breath and she looked to me and I tried to read her lips. I still didn't understand and I turn my head away from her as I fall back to sleep.
Again, I woke up and this time I could hear the fire going. I look to the window and saw that it was at least dark out. I slowly get up and felt pain in my side and abdomen. I feel a hand on my shoulder and I look up to see Clementine as she bends down to look at me.
"Hey." She says quietly and I look to her then to the door and saw it was barricaded. I then look back to Clementine and I nod to her.
"What happened?" She asked and I swallow some saliva and then look to the flames.
"She… she came out of nowhere." I mutter and then look to my lap.
"Who?" She asked.
"Till." I say quietly and I still didn't look to her.
"What happened?" She asked. I explained what happened. I told her how Till was acting delusional thinking that Clem loved her. How Till said I was weak. How I got stabbed and last how I stabbed Till. I twiddled my thumbs a bit and then looked to Clementine as she looked to the me and I look down again.
"I uh… I left her out there." I mutter.
"Jesus… you should have never gone out on your own." She says and I nod.
"Yeah… I…I just wanted to do something nice." I tell her and she looked to me. I then hear someone else and I look to see Ruby and she comes over to me.
"Need to change your bandages." Ruby tells me and I nod a bit. They moved the quilt and I noticed I was wearing a tank top and some boxers.
"You got overheated this morning, don't worry Clem was the one to take your clothes off." Ruby says and I mutter a bit and then nod as she checked my wounds. I look down to see the stitching and I looked away and to the side.
"You feel this?" She asked as she applied some pressure to the wounds and I nod and she moved her hands away.
"Alright, how bad is the pain?" She asked.
"Not that bad." I tell her and she nods. I noticed the bruising from Till kicking me with her boot and I looked to my hand a bit as I feel it shaking and I grabbed it with my other hand to stop it.
"Is your hand, ok?" She asked and I nod a bit.
"Yeah, she just… Slammed her boot to it, but I can still clench it." I tell her and showed her as I make my hand into a fist. She takes a look to my hand a bit and then got to work on the rest of me.
"With how panicked AJ sounded we thought you wouldn't make it." She says and I look to Clem a bit as she looked to the side and I look down.
"Hm… Yeah." I say and swallow a bit and lay my head back on the pillow.
"But then again you are one tough brat." She says and I chuckled a bit as I closed my eyes.
"I'm going to get you something to eat." Clem says and I nod a bit. I feel some pressure here and there and I just deal with the pain. I look to Ruby as she pulled the quilt up a bit.
"Who else is here?" I asked as I look to Ruby.
"Well Aasim and Mitch are here, they just went and took AJ out for a bit, they went to check on the traps." Ruby says and I nod a bit.
"Mind telling me what happened?" She asked.
"And here I thought you would have been listening in." I tried to joke and I look to her a bit.
"Just got into a fight, it's all done now." I say and then looked to the side.
"Are you ok?" She asked and I nod a bit.
"I'm just tired that's all." I tell her.
"Yeah well with the amount of blood you lost, you would be tired." She says and looks up and I look over to Clem as she brings me a bowl of soup. I went to grab the bowl but I feel a pull to my side and I stopped and placed my hand to the wound.
"I got it." Clem says and Ruby moved and Clem takes a seat next to me. I shake my head a bit and looked to the side of the couch.
"Come on you need to eat." I hear.
"I can feed myself just… set it right here." I say as I pat the quilt. I look to Clem and she sighed as she set the bowl down and I nod and she hands me the spoon in my good hand. I was able to eat some of the food and would look to Clem and Ruby as they talked to each other.
"This is a nice set up." Ruby says and I nod at this.
"Clem helped a lot, so did AJ." I tell her and she nods.
"It's a good thing they were here." She says and I nod and finished the food and look to Clem. She takes the bowl and heads to the kitchen then comes back and takes a seat next to me. I look to her a bit and I moved my hand a bit and held hers and I lay my head back.
"So… when do you think I'll be good?" I asked and looked to Ruby.
"I'd say maybe two to three weeks, but I'd say in a few days you should try and get up… with help of course." She tells me and I nod a bit at this. The door opened and I see AJ come in and he takes his hat off and smack the snow from it onto the floor. Aasim and Mitch were behind him as they come in and they look to me.
"Hey you're up." Mitch says and I nod at this.
"Yeah, I am." I tell him and I look to the fireplace a bit.
"Everything ok?" Aasim asked and I nod.
"Yeah, just um… tired is all." I admitted.
"Well get some rest, they're going to be here a few days so Ruby can keep any eye on you." Clem says and I nod. I moved a bit and lay back and moved my head to look at the couch's headrest. I close my eyes a bit and fall right back to sleep.
When I woke back up, I hear some chatter and I open my eyes a bit and I feel a hand holding mine. I feel their thumb rubbing the back of my hand and I close my eyes again. I didn't fall asleep but it felt nice feeling that hand holding mine.
"So that girl attacked her?" I hear Aasim ask.
"From what she told me… honest to god Till was never a violent person." I hear Clem tell them and I keep listening.
"You think Vi is lying?" Ruby asked.
"No, Till had come here and Violet and her just… I went and checked to see if I could find the body, and I did and the snow hadn't fallen so I saw that it looked like a struggle… just saw two guns but Violet was stabbed… not shot." She says and I keep listening.
"Till now how to use a gun?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah she did." Clem says.
"The revolver…hmm." I mutter as I turn my head and look to Clem and the others.
"What about it?" Clem asked as she looked to me.
"You grab it?" I asked and she nods.
"Bag has bullets… I got it cause it looked nice." I whisper. I wasn't going to say out loud that I got it as a gift for her. I know she's holding my hand in front of everyone but it could be just to comfort herself or maybe me.
"It is a nice gun." She says and I nod. It wasn't long till Clem and Ruby helped me sit up and I feel the pinch in my side but it wasn't as bad as before. I was seated up and I shake my head a bit and looked to the flames. I then looked to Clem and she looked to me as she placed a hand on my back and I sit up more.
"Think you can stand up?" Ruby asked and I nod. I tried to get up but my body ached. I feel Clem place her hand lower to my back and they helped me up. I feel the pinches a bit and moved my hand to my abdomen and they help sit me down.
"Fuck… suppose to hurt?" I asked Ruby and she looked to me and nods.
"Yeah, it's still going to hurt but at least you can sit up, so just stay like this for a bit." Ruby tells me and I nod and look to Clem. She moved her hand from my back and I stay seated up. I didn't lean back in the couch so I could get use to sitting up more.
"Is my back messed up?" I asked.
"Just some bruising is all but not that bad actually." Ruby says and I nod. I look to the flames a bit and I feel myself shiver a bit from the cold.
"Uh… mind getting me some pants and a shirt?" I asked.
"Yeah, Ruby in the room upstairs on the left, there is a dresser that has some sweatpants and shirt… mind getting it?" Clem asked her and Ruby heads on up the stairs. I feel the quilt being placed around me and I nod in thanks as I tried to warm myself up a bit.
"Shit your face is pretty bruised." I hear and look to AJ as he comes over to me and I nod.
"Yeah… you good?" I asked him and he nods. Ruby comes down and Clem helps me get dressed. I take a seat and I look to the flames as they dwindled down. I watch as Aasim placed some wood on the fire and I look to the side a bit and shake my head. I feel my hand shake and Clem grabbed it and I shake my head again.
"Hey are you ok?" Clem asked and I nod.
"Just felt a chill… like I'm warm but… I felt this chill." I tell her and she nods a bit. It was a few days and Ruby along with the others left and they said they would be back. I was sitting up on the couch and I watched as Clementine came over to me. I look up to her and I tried to get up and she helped me. I look down at her and I place my hand on her shoulder and she looked to me.
"You, ok?" She asked and I nodded at this.
"Yeah, just felt like standing up." I tell her.
"Alright… we can stand like this for a bit." She tells me and I nod. It wasn't long but I stood longer than last time. She helped sit me down and I closed my eyes a bit and look to her. She takes a seat next to me and I look to her then to the flames.
"No snow has fallen the past two days… guess it's going to melt." She says and I nod.
"Going to… get well and start working outside." I tell her and we look to each other.
"It's going to take some time but I know you." She says and I look to her and nod.
"Hey your hand is shaking." She says and I look to it. I then grabbed it and rubbed it a bit. Sometimes it made the trembles stop. Ruby said that my hand wasn't broken or anything but it was always the hand that Till stomped on.
"Are you ok?" She asked and I nod and look to my hand as she grabbed it gently. The trembling stopped and I nod again and looked to her. AJ had come down from his room and he headed out the door and I was getting up but Clem stopped me.
"He's just heading outside." She says and I look to her.
"What for?" I asked and she looked to me then to the door.
"He's getting some logs for the fire." She tells me and I look to see that we were low on wood. I must have been out of it for a while and feel some pain in my side. Clem helps me lay down and I look to her as she covers me up with the quilt.
"How are you still cold?" She asked and I look to her. I was starting to feel a little worried as she says this and I look to her.
"Is everything ok?" I asked.
"Yeah, just need to warm you up." She says.
"I shouldn't be cold… it's warm." I tell her.
"Let me check your wounds." She says and I nod as she moved the quilt a bit and looked to the wounds a bit. She hissed a bit and I look to her as she grabbed the first aid kit and I guess she cleaned it up just a bit. I thank her and she nods as she set some fresh bandages on me. I hope it wasn't an infection but I felt fine, just a little chill here and there.
I look to her a bit and she kissed me on the head. I closed my eyes and I open them to look at her. AJ comes in and I wanted to get up and help him but Clementine stopped me. I look to her and she stopped me. I roll my eyes and looked to her more and she rubbed my head.
"Just get some rest." She says and I nodded a bit. And that's what I did for the past week or so. Clementine had been helping me and we were currently sitting outside the cabin as the snow had melted enough. Or at least enough where Clem says it's ok for me to go outside for a short while. I look to the side and I hear some birds chirping a bit. It was a nice day but I was still not able to do much but walk around just a few steps. Guess that bitch got me really good I mean that was a huge hunting knife.
"I… I want to go inside." I tell her as I get up a bit. Clementine helped me inside and AJ comes inside as well. He goes into the kitchen and I go to take a seat on the recliner. I had decided to move here instead of taking up the couch. I feel the chair be laid back and I look to Clem and she looked to me.
"Sorry, just want to make sure you're comfortable." She says and I nod and she puts a blanket on me. why was she being so nice to me? I didn't deserve it. It feels nice though.
"That uh… revolver." I say as she looked to me. I look back to her and then grabbed her hand a bit.
"What about it?" She asked.
"… I left the cabin because I wanted to give you a gift… and I thought I could get some stuff for the cabin too." I tell her.
"Stupid… you know you are an idiot, right?" She asked and I nodded and looked to her.
"I know… I know I am but… I got the revolver for you." I tell her and she sighed a bit.
"You didn't have to do anything for me." She says and I look to her. I feel my chest tighten a bit and I look to her and I look down a bit.
"I didn't want you to leave." I tell her. I don't hear anything and I move my hand to my face and I lean back in the chair.
"Why would I leave?" She asked and I looked to her.
"You left before… you left with AJ for t-two years and I don't know what the fuck was going through my head but I just… I just wanted you to stay here, I didn't want you to leave me… and I thought if I could show you… that I care for you and willing to get you gifts." I tell her or tried to as I feel the tears fall.
"But I don't want you to think I'm… making you do this or that… I can't be forcing you-."
"You aren't forcing me to do anything… Violet I want to stay here, I promise you aren't making me do this, I am thinking the best interest of AJ, You and Me." She says and I look to her a bit. I still feel the tightening in my chest and the tears. I looked away from her then I look back to her.
"I swear I'm telling you the truth, please calm down." She says and she gripped my good hand tightly. I feel so damn tired, I feel like shit, I feel like she's just lying to make me stop this thought. I look to her and she placed her hand to my cheek and I feel the tears in my eyes.
"I'm sorry." I whisper to her.
"Don't, don't be sorry you have nothing to be sorry about." She says and I feel guilt. I think back to what Till had said and I feel even more guilt. I killed her but she was right, I was weak. I was just waiting for her to get tired as she kept coming at me, but I didn't want to be stabbed. I look down a bit to the floor. She rubbed her thumb across my cheek and she wiped the tear from my face.
"I'm so sorry." I mutter quietly and she shushes me. I feel her rub my head gently and I felt more guilt. Why was I feeling like this? Why the fuck was I feeling like this? Why were those words hitting me right now? Why did I feel like I was manipulating her? I hear her hum a bit and quiet and tried to look at her but she kept my head to her chest.
"I killed her." I whispered.
"She fucking stabbed you." She whispers and shake my head.
"I just… don't know." I say quietly and I truly didn't know. I guess I ended up falling asleep because I can feel the warmth on my face from the fire. I had been pretty out of it for the past week this was still no exception. I feel someone rubbing my head gently. I hear her talking softly. I hear her as she was talking to me. I feel a little better but I keep my eyes shut.
"Everything is going to be ok." I hear and I open my eyes just a little and I look up to Clem.
"Hey." She says and I moved my hand and placed it on top of hers. I watched her as she looked to me and I look to the side.
"You hungry?" She asked but I didn't speak. I feel like garbage but what could I do?
"Violet?" I hear and look to her a bit and she rubbed my temple a bit and close my eye just a little.
"A little." I tell her.
"Alright I will be right back." She says and I nod at this. She leaves and I hear her footsteps go and then come back. I felt so tired. Was I dying? No this couldn't be me dying I would have died a long time ago if anything was wrong. Ruby made sure I was ok. So why did I feel like I'm dying. I look to Clem as she has a spoon in her hand and she helps feed me. When I finished, she set the bowl to the side and placed her hand back to my head. It felt nice and comfortable and I was content as she whispers to me.
I moved my hand and hold her free hand. She holds it a bit and she kept rubbing the back of my head. It felt like a dream, I open my eyes and look to her.
"I love you." She tells me and I moved to sit up but she stopped me. I look to her as she looked to me.
"I just wanted you to know." She says and I nod gently.
"Love you too." I tell her quietly and she nods and kisses my cheek gently.
