Dipper and Mabel sat on the couch of their home waiting. Dipper, wearing a brown star hat and a blue jacket with shorts, was engrossed in videogame on a handheld device. Mabel was wearing a pink sweater and was knitting a black and white. As they waited, they heard a knock on the door. "I'll get it!" Exclaimed Mabel cheerfully before rushing to the door. Opening it revealed a black haired tomboy who Mabel immediately dragged inside. "Dipper! Maddie's here!"

"Hey, Mads." Replied Dipper, looking up from his game only to hear the defeat music a second later. "Aw, man." Maddie chuckled cheerfully at Dipper's loss.

"So? What are we doing today?" She asked cheerfully with a smile. "Playing video games, losing at chess, making a movie about Dipper getting turned into the big dipper by Greek gods or-"

"You're still on about that idea?" Dipper cut her off with a raised brow, placing his handheld on the table before turning to face her. "I'm not acting your quote unquote tragic story." He added firmly, crossing his arms before hearing a sad sniff come from Maddie. Her eyes were on the verge of tears as she stared at Dipper. However, the boy was undeterred. "I'm not falling for that again."

Maddie deflated immediately before Mabel dragged her lifeless body to the couch. Dipper saw this and hummed before turning back to his handheld. If he had to describe his and his sister's best friend, Maddie Gravels, in one word it would be "Theatric". Watching her was like watching a performer on a stage. She never took much seriously. Mabel liked it though. "Dipper! Check this out!" He heard Mabel call out. He turned around again to find Maddie wearing a sweater resembling her usual white tie and black button up shirt combo with her dark purple staying the same.

"It's a suit sweater!" Exclaimed the tomboy happily as she inspected her new sweater. "I get to look dapper and be comfy in the winter at the same time!" Dipper smiled, finding the situation amusing.

"Does everything you wear have to be a suit or suit-adjacent?" He asked calmly and the tomboy's expression turned solemn. She nodded with an amount of seriousness he had never seen from her before.

"Dipper, research has shown that suits can make anyone up to 500% hotter." She said placing her hands behind her back professionally. "I'm contributing to making this world just that bit more attractive." She added before striking a handsome pose with her hand running through her hair. "C'mon, Dips, look at me and say you wouldn't date me."

"I wouldn't date you." Deadpanned Dipper immediately without the slightest hesitation, causing Maddie to choke on air. Both the twins to burst into laughter at Maddie's reaction. Before the tomboy could retort against Dipper's cruel rejection, the three heard a voice echo through the room.

"Kids!" It was Dipper and Mabel's mother who entered the room with their father. "We have a surprise for you!" She said before they handed the twins some bags full of supplies.

"You're going to spend the summer at my uncle Stan's! You could really use the fresh air" Their father said cheerfully. "The bus leaves today. No buts." Both the twins' jaws fell. They could barely follow the quick development. Maddie wondered why the two were in such a rush to send their kids away until she heard a familiar voice speak nonchalantly.

"They're on the verge of divorce." It was Bill, her father floating around and watching from the mindscape.

"WHAT!?" Exclaimed Maddie in shock, getting everyone's attention. Suddenly, a determined expression appeared onto Mabel's face.

"Yeah! We can't just spend our whole summer without our best friend!" Exclaimed the girl firmly, crossing her arms and Dipper appeared to stand with her on the matter.

"I'm sorry, Mabel." Said her father awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. "We didn't account for Maddie when we thought of this. Unless she can get permission from her parents, there's nothing we can do. And you'll still have to go." A destroyed look appeared onto Mabel's face as Maddie's eyes widened.

The tomboy glanced at her father and gave him an apologetic look before speaking. "I can do that." She declared acting dejected and sad as Bill blinked in confusion. "My dad doesn't care much about me. All he cares about is work. He's never home. I just get access to his credit card. I'll just let him know I'm going and it'll be fine." Bill gasped at what he had just heard as Maddie brushed the side of her arms with a dark expression on her face, garnering pity from the Pines parents.

"How could you!?" Exclaimed the demon in shock. "Do our karaoke nights mean nothing to you? Seven years up in the air, huh?" Said Bill crossing his arms as a dejected expression appeared on his face. "And they're buying it too! I raised a monster!"

Maddie ignored her father and focused on her act. The pines bought it completely and now it was time to finish her act. "I'll go pack some things and come back in a bit." She said with a visibly forced smile before running off and leaving a dazed pines family.

Later, on the bus to gravity falls. "I hate you." Said Bill sitting on one of the bus chairs with crossed arms. An angry look was in his eye.

Maddie, who was sitting in a seat behind her own sleeping physical body next to Dipper and Mabel, rolled her eyes in exasperation. "I had to trick them somehow!" She said firmly. "Plus, It's your fault I have to do this. Remember?"

"So just because I've destroyed a few worlds, tortured a few billion minds and am currently trying to cause the end of the world, you suddenly have the right to badmouth me?" Bill said with a deep frown, narrowing his eyes at his daughter. "Is that it? Huh!?"

"In every conceivable way." The tomboy deadpanned nonchalantly before the bus suddenly stopped and the momentum launched Maddie through the chair and back into her own body. She let out a yawn before speaking. "Are we there, yet?" She asked sleepily.

"Looks like it." Replied Dipper in disappointment before he, Mabel and Maddie got out of their seats. Once they got off the bus, they were greeted with a large puff of smoke. Maddie immediately started coughing, the smoke irritating her lungs before a man appeared out of the smoke with a smile. Stan Pines. It was easy for Maddie to recognise his signature look.

"I'd be more impressed with the showmanship if wasn't literally killing me." Commented Maddie coughing before Stan himself started coughing as well from the smoke. Once the smoke had cleared, Stan cleared his throat and spoke cheerfully.

"Welcome, Dapper, Maple and Angry to the Mystery Shack!" Announced Stan cheerfully. Causing the twins to go silent and Maddie to snicker.

"We should start running." Dipper whispered to both his friend and his sister.

"I'm sure it'll be fine." Mabel replied cheerfully as Maddie continued to snicker.

"Follow me!" Stan said excitedly gesturing her them to follow as. "Let me show you to your room!" The three, Dipper reluctantly, followed the man to the Mystery Shack. To their home for the summer. The excitement on Maddie's face was clear as day, causing a certain triangle to frown.

Bill could barely keep his body in place as he eyed Stanley Pines. The man who helped kill him. His daughter enjoying his presence didn't help one bit. A dark expression made it onto the demon's face.

He went back to his home, to the nightmare realm, and sighed the moment he entered his body once again. "I thought I'd be able to take it." He muttered tiredly as pinched his eyelid on top of his throne. "I need a drink."

"Woah! What's got you looking so tired?" Asked Keyhole, one of Bill's henchmaniacs curiously. Bill stared at keyhole intently.

Bill knew better than to trust anyone with the existence of his daughter. His weak point. Especially to someone he KNEW disliked him. "Nothing." He said offhandedly before returning to his own thoughts.

Keyhole wasn't convinced. "I don't think it's-"

"I said IT'S NOTHING!" Snapped Bill angrily, lighting thrashing about from his hands as he glared at the pitiful henchmaniac. Keyhole gulped before running away for his life, leaving Bill alone with his thoughts. "The clock is ticking and weirdmageddon is just one summer away, so why don't I feel good about it?" Bill went silent, trying to answer his own question.

Some of, if not all of his henchmaniacs hated him in some way shape or form and his daughter was trying to stop him from achieving his dream. "Why can't anything go my way just ONCE!" He muttered tiredly before a low growl escaped his throat. "Maybe I should change things up a bit around here. Weed out the haters and give my daughter a new...perspective." As he spoke, his eye flashed with different scenes of the pines family, Mcgucket, Wendy, Soos, Bud Gleeful, flashing lights and many more as well as the scene of his death from Maddie's memories before it stopped at the present inside the Mystery Shack where his daughter currently resided.

"You guys are gonna decide whether or not to run away using a magic 8 ball?" She asked the twins, disappointment clear in her eyes.

"Oh, c'mon Maddie." Said Dipper in a serious tone. "You should know a thing or two about bad caretakers." Maddie glowered heavily and crossed her arms. She looked as angry as she could ever be.

"Dipper, I lied about that so your parents wouldn't stop me from coming with you! I love my dad!" She exclaimed firmly, causing Bill's eye to almost jump out of its socket. "Sure, we don't agree on some things. But he was there for me whenever I needed him." Bill Cipher immediately closed his eye before opening it back up to its normal form.

The demon was dead silent for what seemed like hours before tears welled up in his eye. "I'm sorry." He muttered and all he was met with was silence.
