Seto Kaiba wondered about the strongest of the modern era and who might be the strongest duelist in history, as only there were 2 candidates worthy of that title as the duel between the strongest begins. Who will come up on top? Yami Yugi or Yusaku Fujiki?

The legendary duel between The Strongest of Today and the Strongest In History has only begun. The thing that interests everyone here is, with a few exceptions, no one knew what kind of deck Playmaker plays while everyone knew what kind of deck Yami plays in his deck as he has the Legendary Dark Magician in his deck.

Ai sat on the duel disk while Yugi floated around Yami, waiting to see what will happen in the duel between them.

"I will begin!" said Playmaker as he took the top 5 cards in his deck as he looked at them. He nodded as he saw the perfect play, "As I have no monsters in my hand, I can discard a Cyberse Monster from my hand, such as my Latency, in order to special summon my Threshold Borg!"

On his field appeared a massive digital warrior with white metallic colouring, as there were red lines at the top of the head, around the body, legs and arms as there were golden pieces at the middle of the monster that acted like ribs to it as the hands were gray alongside some gauntltets. At the back of the monster, he had golden spikes at the end of it.

(Threshold Borg: Level 7 - Earth Cyberse - Attack: 2400. Defense: 2000.)

"A 2400 attack point monster as the first summon? That is better than Zane's Cyber Dragon, I will tell you that." said Aster as he nodded, impressed by that move.

"Yeah, but what is a Cyberse Monster?" asked Syrus with a raised brow.

"Then, I summon my Firewall Defenser in attack mode!" yelled Playmaker as then a slim dragon appeared on the field. It was a monster with black skin and red cybernetic lines around the monster, as the wings were separated into blades as they were gray and black. The tail was that of a pointy crystal as the dragon has sharp claws. The monster had red eyes and a glowing mouth.

(Firewall Defenser: Level 4 - Dark Cyberse - Attack: 1200. Defense: 1500.)

Ryoken raised a brow, "That must be a new card in his deck since I haven't seen that card in his arsenal before."

"It looks like his Ace monster." Theodore fixed his glasses to look at the new monster.

"Now, before any of you ask what is he planning since it doesn't look like it is going for a Synchro or an XYZ Summon, nor a Ritual or Fusion monster, I am just gonna tell all of you… prepare yourselves for this summoning because this is his bread and butter." said Ai with a smirk even without a mouth.

"What does he mean by that, Pharaoh?" said Yugi.

"We are about to find out." thought Yami with narrowed eyes.

"Ai is right for once," Ai looked at his partner in a hurtful way, "The preparations have been set. I will create my ultimate circuit!" yelled Playmaker as then a circuit appeared, as it showed 8 Link Arrows that were gray, taking almost everyone by the surprise, "The Summoning Conditions are 2 Cyberse Monsters, so I set my Firewall Defenser and Threshold Borg in the Link Arrows!" the two monsters went up and downwards at the right Link Arrows.

"Link The Circuit! I Link Summon! Link-2, Splash Mage!" on Playmaker's Right Extra Monster Zone appeared a mage. He had aquatic blue hair, as his robe covered his entire body as it was white and black with blue lines around the entire robe, carrying a scepter that had water coming out of it, as he had a purple robe.

(Splash Mage: Link - Water Cyberse - Attack: 1100. Link-2. Link Arrows: Top-Right and Bottom-Right.)

"Link Summon!?" Yusei gasped as the rest of Team 5ds had their mouths wide open.

"Link What?!" Yuya stood up with them having shocked expressions.

"What Summon?!" Jaden couldn't believe his own eyes seeing this new type of monsters.

"What What?!" Yuma could only stare at the new monster.

"What… is this new type of summoning?" asked Yami with a shocked expression.

"This, old man, is Link Summoning. A new type of summoning." said Ai as he sat on the duel disk, "Let's see how you can handle these bad boys."

"What he means to say is that this is a new type of summoning. To keep things short, they are specifically in the Extra Deck. A way to get them on the field is to have on the field the correct requirements for the Link Arrows." began Playmaker as Splash Mage narrowed his eyes at the King of Games, "They can only be special summoned in the Extra Monster Zones, however, if you have Link Arrows pointing to a Monster Zone, you can Link Summon them there."

"How interesting, this could give other decks the benefit that almost no other summoning method can bring out." Declan then pulled out a phone as he proceeded to make a phone call. "Claude? Record this duel and get as much as you can get from this duel and the new type of summoning. I want to see if I could create new monsters with this new type of summoning."

"Affirmative, I will tell our research team." said Claude as Declan turned back to the duel.

"Man, those cards sound wicked cool!" Leo yelled with a grin on his face, "I wonder if I can get them for a test run."

"Let's get back to the duel shall we? Firewall Defenser's effect activates!" began The Hero Of Link VRAINS as a card popped out of his duel disk, "When it is used as a Link Material, I can special summon a Firewall Monster from my deck! So come out, Firewall Phantom in defense mode!"

On his field appeared a mini version of his ace monster. It had black skin with purple codes all around the monster's skin, as it had red eyes and a glowing mouth, as the wings were separated into blades as it emitted a purple glow as they were separated into 4 of them. It had sharp claws and feet with golden rings around the arms and legs.

(Firewall Phantom: Level 5 - Dark Cyberse - Attack: 2000. Defense: 1300.)

"Then I activate the effect of my Splash Mage!" yelled Playmaker as the scepter of Splash Mage began to glow.

"This guy can revive a Cyberse monster from the graveyard, but while on the field, its effects are negated!" Ai explained as Playmaker took a card from the graveyard as he slammed it on his duel disk, "So come out, Latency!"

On Playmaker's side of the field appeared a pink robot with a clock on her shoulder, angel wings that had a red coloured dress with a halo on the top of her head with blue eyes. She held onto a robotic hour glass. She was summoned right next to Splash Mage's Left Link Arrow.

(Latency: Level 1 - Light Cyberse - Attack: 0. Defense: 0.)

"I assume you are going to Link Summon using those monsters?" asked Yami as Playmaker nodded.

"You would be correct. I create my ultimate circuit for the second time!" yelled Playmaker as then on his field appeared a second Link Circuit, "The Summoning Condition is 1 Level 1 monster, so I set my Latency in the Link Arrow!" yelled Playmaker as his monster went into the Bottom-Middle Link Arrow.

"Link The Circuit! I Link Summon! Link-1, Linkuriboh!" On Splash Mage's Bottom-Left Link Arrow appeared a small creature. It was a metallic monster with dark blue coloured skin with robotic eyes as the tail was that of a Link Arrow.

"Okay, that is the most adorable monster I have ever seen." said Zuzu as pretty much everyone agreed on that.

"AHH YES! Linky is here! Show 'em your moves, Linky!" yelled Ai as Linkuriboh jumped all excitedly.

"That is not all! I will play my Cynet Codec!" On Playmaker's side of the field appeared his Continuous Spell card, "I will reveal the effects later as I create the ultimate for the third time!" yelled Playmaker as then a Link Circuit appeared for the third time, "The Summoning Conditions are at least 2 Effect monsters, so I set my Link-2 Splash Mage and Firewall Phantom in the Link Arrows!" yelled Playmaker as the two monsters flew upwards filling up and down of the Link Arrows.

"Link The Circuit! I Link Summon! Link-3, Decode Talker!" yelled Playmaker as on the Left Extra Monster Zone appeared his first Ace Monster. It was a cybernetic warrior with black skin with purple lines around it, as it wore a blue armour with golden lines around the monster's armour with blue orbs on the armour. It carried a massive purple sword.

(Decode Talker: Link - Dark Cyberse - Attack: 2300. Link-3. Link Arrows: Top-Middle, Bottom-Left and Bottom-Right.)

"Our first Link Monster that we have gotten, baby! This will be your end!" screamed Ai as Yusaku's friends smiled seeing his favourite monster.

"We will see about that Ai, but… 3 effects go off!" began Playmaker as a card popped out of his duel disk, "When I Special Summon a Code Talker monster from my Extra Deck, once per turn per Attribute, I can add a Cyberse Monster that shares the Attribute to that monster thanks to my Cynet Codec. I will add ROM Cloudia!"

Playmaker added that card to his deck as then another card popped out of his deck, "Then, when I use Firewall Phantom to Link Summon, I can add 1 Cynet card from my deck to my hand, I add my Cynet Backdoor!" The Hero Of Link VRAINS took the card to his hand as then he discarded a card from his hand, "The downside is that I have to discard a card from my hand."

"Then! Decode Talker gains 500 attack points for every monster that it points to! Access Intergration!" yelled Playmaker as his Decode Talker glew red for a moment as his sword became longer.

Decode Talker: 2300 - 2800 attack points

Playmaker then took a card from his hand, "I will end my turn by setting a card face down." a card was set vertically behind Decode Talker and Linkuriboh.

Turn 2. Yami - 4000 lp - 5 cards

"I have to handed to him, he seems to know his deck very well if he was able to summon that many monsters in one turn." said Yugi as Yami nodded to that, but at the same time he narrowed his eyes.

"I agree, Yugi, but there is something about him that I haven't seen yet. I can't put my finger on it as while at first he seems like a good duelist, there is something about him that is uncanny." thought Yami as Yugi wondered about that.

"Now that you mention it, I can see it too. I don't what to say as it feels like his spirit isn't with him in this duel." said Yugi as Yami thinks that might be it.

"Maybe, though this is only the start of the duel. I want to see what he brings to the table," Yami thought as he then picked up a card from his hand, "I activate the effect of my Black Luster Soldier - The Legendary Swordsman's effect in my hand!"

"Already?!"

"Black Luster Soldier?!" Playmaker gasped as he never thought he would see the first Ritual monster in the game's history in the first turn to be summoned or even be activated. It seems as though he has to be extra careful.

"During the Draw Phase, I can add 1 Ritual Spell card from my deck to my hand by revealing it to give up my normal draw for the turn," said Yami as then he took out his deck to pick up a single card from his deck before returning it into his duel disk, "I pick the Ritual Spell card, Super Soldier Ritual! Though, it won't be in my hand for long as I play Graceful Charity!" The Spell card appeared as did the famous Angel.

"I can draw 3 cards from my deck in exchange of discarding 2 cards from my hand," said Yami as he drew the 3 cards from his deck. He looked at the two cards as one of them will be extremely useful for his later play should this one fail. "I discard these two cards."

"Why would he discard one of his Ritual Spell cards if he already gave up his Normal Draw of the turn?" asked Gong as the man was confused by that play.

"Next, I will play my Pre-Preparation of Rites!" said Yami as he played a Spell card as it appeared on the field, "This card allows me to get a Ritual Spell card from my graveyard or deck to my hand alongside 1 Ritual Monster that is in the Spell's description," Yami took his deck from the duel disk as he then took 2 cards from it.

"I add the Ritual Spell card, Black Luster Ritual, and the ritual monster, Black Luster Soldier! Which I will then activate!" yelled Yami as then on the field appeared a plate with 2 swords crossed with each other as there were two braziers appeared in front of the King Of Games as they continued to burn away as it made the Hero Of Link VRAINS grit his teeth.

"Ah glitch?! A Ritual Summon already?!" Ai panicked.

"That is right. With this, I tribute my Level 1 Relinkuriboh and my Level 7 Charging Gaia Of The Fierce Knight in order to Ritual Summon!" On Yami's side of the field appeared 2 monsters. One of them was a Kuriboh with a digital implant on its back and the other was a green skinned man wearing blue coloured armour with green lines and 2 red spears, as he was riding a purple horse with yellow hair that wore a face mask that was the similar design as the Gaia.

"The Contract has been made! One shall merge with Light while the other merges with Darkness! Between light and darkness, the gateway to chaos is unleashed! I Ritual Summon! Level 8, Black Luster Soldier - Legendary Swordsman!" from the two plates emerged the powerful Chaos soldier.

It was a tall man with green skin. He wore dark sapphire coloured armour with golden coloured armour as the hair of this powerful warrior was red and styled in a pony tail. He had a massive sword which brimmed with both Light and Darkness. The monster was showered with red aura as his eyes opened up to see a powerful crimson energy backing it up. The monster proudly showed off his sword, of which even Decode Talker walked back intimidated from it.

(Black Luster Soldier - Legendary Swordsman: Ritual - Level 8 - Earth Warrior - Attack: 3000. Defense: 2500.)

"There it is! One of the Legendary Monsters!" Yugo cheered as Yuto narrowed his eyes at the monster, as it reminded him of his Phantom Knight monsters.

"Huh. So that is what a Ritual Summon looks like." said Tori as out of everyone, Kite was the only one that was able to both Ritual and Fusion Summon.

"One of the First Ritual monsters' new form this early." said Kolter as clicked his tongue, "Well this is going to be tough."

"This is one of the newer additions in my deck as I have added a lot of new monsters and Spells in my deck, so this will be one of the ones that I will be summoning. Not to mention, I want the rest of my deck to shine," said Yami as he then threw his hand out towards his opponent, "Now, 2 effects go off at the same time!"

"Thanks to Relinkuriboh being Tributed for a Ritual Summon, I can draw a card," began Yami as he drew the top card of his deck as he then took out his deck, "Then, since Charging Gaia was Tributed for Ritual Summon, I can add a Black Luster Soldier monster from my deck to my hand," Yami then took a card and placed them in his duel disk, "I pick my Black Luster Soldier - Envoy Of The Beginning."

"Oh crud, he is not going to enjoy that card." said Jaden as he remembered dueling Dimitri and he noted that card was a pain in the butt to fight against.

"Now, time to battl-"

"Before you enter the Battle Phase, I will activate my Cynet Backdoor!" yelled Playmaker as then a round digital door appeared on the field as it then sucked the Decode Talker into it, "I can banish a Cyberse Monster on my field until my Standby Phase so I can add 1 Cyberse monster from my deck to my hand that has the same amount or lower the amount of attack points that it has. Decode Talker has 2800 attack points," a card popped out of Playmaker's deck as he took it, "while the newly added Grid Sweeper has 100 attack points."

"What… was the point of that?" asked Duke raised a brow, "I get that he wants to protect his strongest monster, but he should've used it on his Linkuriboh as it is the weakest monster on his field."

"Interesting strategy. I will go in battle! Black Luster Soldier - Legendary Swordsman attacks your Linkuriboh! Chaos Blade!" yelled Yami as then Black Luster Soldier's blade began to shine with both light and darkness as at first the light was overpowering the darkness, but after a few seconds, the darkness overwhelmed the light as then, it created a perfect middle of light and darkness.

"Not so fast! I activate the effect of Linkuriboh! By-"

"That isn't possible." Playmaker gasped as Linkuriboh was then greyed out in the process, "When Black Luster Soldier - Legendary Swordsman attacks, no effects can be activated!"

"What?!"

"Ahh glitch! Linky NO!"

Black Luster Soldier - Legendary Swordsman grinned ear to ear as then he gripped onto the sword with his two hands. He brought the sword upwards as he then performed a downwards slash that was filled with both darkness and light as they both clashed with each other to create a perfect balance of both Light and darkness as it cut straight through Linkuriboh. Playmaker was sent flying to the air as he landed on the wall behind him. Luckily he stood on his two feet.

Yami: 4000 lp

The first blood was shed during the second turn and it was more than half of the normal life points. If this continued onwards for another attack, then Playmaker would have lost right there and there.

"Are you okay?!"

"I am fine, Ai," said The Hero of Link VRAINS, "I didn't expect a card to have an effect like that."

"Well that is good to know cause we just lost over half of our life points! You are embarrassing me with that performance." said Ai as Playmaker rolled his eyes.

"Sorry that I somehow didn't know how to get around that." said Playmaker as he looked back to see Yami calculating everything every little move that he made which made him wonder what he was thinking about. He shook his head as he looked at his hand and saw that there was a way to get around this.

Yami then took a card from his hand, "I will end my turn by setting a card. Your move." said Yami as then a card was set vertically behind his Black Luster Soldier - Legendary Swordsman.

Turn 3. Playmaker - 1300 lp - 2 cards

"My turn, I draw!" yelled Playmaker as he drew the top card of his deck as he looked at it. He nodded as he placed that card in his hand, "During my Standby Phase, the monster banished thanks to Cynet Backdoor returns to my field, so come out, Decode Talker!" yelled Playmaker as then the Cynet Backdoor appeared right next to Playmaker's field opened up.

From it, Decode Talker appeared on the field.

"Let's see what this guy can do." said Aster with an interested tone in his voice.

"Cynet Backdoor has one more effect! During the Standby Phase it was summoned on the field, it can attack directly!" yelled Playmaker as even Yami gasped hearing that.

"What?!" yelled Yami in shock as Playmaker had a small smirk on his face.

"You heard me! Decode Talker attacks you directly! Decode End!" yelled Playmaker as then the Link-3 monster raised both of his hands as the sword began to show off dark energy as the cybernetic warrior glared at the King Of Games as it then charged directly towards him, even passing by the Legendary Black Luster Soldier.

As the monster came closer and closer towards the Strongest In History, the man smiled, "You got too cocky, Playmaker." The Hero Of Link VRAINS widened his eyes hearing that as Yami pushed up his arm forward, "Go! Spellbinding Circle! The monster I target can not attack or switch positions!"

On Yami's field, his Trap card revealed itself as then a massive circle popped out of the Trap card as it then flew straight towards Decode Talker which made the Link monster stop in his tracks because it was impossible for him to move a single muscle.

"Good job, Yugi! You stopped that man's Battle Phase!" cheered Tristan as Playmaker gritted his teeth.

"This is fine," admitted Playmaker as the Dark Ignis thought that was not correct as the man took a card from his hand, "As I play this! Pot Of Greed!" the legendary pot appeared on the field, "I will now draw 2 cards from my deck!" yelled Playmaker as he drew the top 2 cards from his deck. He nodded.

"I will end my turn by setting 2 cards." said Playmaker as then 2 cards were set vertically behind Decode Talker as they then disappeared.

Turn 4. Yami - 4000 lp - 2 cards

"I have to admit, you took me by surprise by having that effect on your Spell card, though it was then soon to be proved to be ineffective." said Yami as Ai crossed his arms angrily. "My turn, I draw!" yelled Yami as he then drew the top card of his deck as he looked at it with a smirk on his face, "With this… I won."

He placed the card in his hand, "The Spirit of a duelist is one that can not be distinguished by a single flame. With that in mind… The duel disk I have is my shield while my hand is my soul!" Yami then took out 2 cards from his hand as he grabbed onto it with a grin on his face, "This will be the Summoning of a powerful Warrior, one that is similar to the power of one on my field!"

"What?" asked Playmaker in shock.

"What does that even mean? Does he have double of those monsters or something?" asked Ai as Playmaker was then reminded of a certain type of monster of which shares the same monster on his field.

"Is he summoning a Chaos Monster?" Ai looked at him all confused as he didn't know what he was even talking about. Playmaker knew that he was confused so he decided to clarify. "A Chaos monster is a type of monster that is able to be summoned if the user decides to banish a Light and Dark monster from the graveyard. They have monsters and even a deck supporting that type of summoning, which is concerning since there is a monster that is similar to one that he has on the field."

Yami smiled, "You are quite the observant one, Playmaker, which is why you will be the one to see it on the field! I banish the Light Charging Gaia Of The Fierce Knight from my graveyard with my Dark Relinkuriboh from my graveyard in order to special summon this beast of a monster!" Yami took out two cards from his graveyard, which revealed themselves to be 2 orbs, one Dark and one Light as they then flew towards each other, in order to create a strong pillar.

Yami then began to chant, "The dark essence of the pitch black night combines forces with the shining light in order to create Chaos itself for the ultimate Warrior! I Special Summon! Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of Beginning!" Yami then slammed the monster onto his duel disk as the pillar then exploded. From the pillar arrived a monster that was like the Black Luster Soldier - Legendary Swordsman, with the armour being shinier, slicker and the warrior seemed more experienced.

(Black Luster Soldier - Envoy Of Beginning: Level 8 - Light Warrior - Attack: 3000. Defense: 2500.)

"Two Black Luster Soldiers are on the field!" yelled Alexis in surprise.

"Let's hope that this Playmaker guy can handle that monster," said Jaden as he remembered fighting that monster against Dimitri, the copycat duelist.

"Though, even though this is a powerful board, there is a way to make it stronger…" Yami said as Ai screamed in horror, "I play the Quick-Play Spell card, Burial From A Different Dimension! I can target up to 3 Banished monsters and return them to the graveyard! I return Relinkuriboh and Charging Gaia to my graveyard." said Yami as a burial appeared as then it threw 2 cards into his graveyard, filling it up.

"Now, I activate the effect of my Super Soldier Ritual from my graveyard, I can banish it and 1 Dark and Light monster from my graveyard," 3 cards popped out of Yami's graveyard as he then took them and placed them in his pocket, "So I can special summon 1 Black Luster Soldier Ritual Monster from my hand, ignoring its summoning conditions!"

"Yugi is summoning another one?!" yelled Duke in shock.

Yami then closed his eyes, "The Chaos Warrior. Born from the mass of the dark energy around the world with the light of every soul, to battle a being as it was the start of the end! I Special Summon! Come out, The Chaos Warrior! Black Luster Soldier!" As then a portal appeared, of which a warrior that is similar to that of the other two monsters, as this had the energy of an experienced warrior to the point it even made the other two monsters nervous to be around. It looked at Decode Talker and grabbed his sword to show that he is not afraid of it.

(Black Luster Soldier: Ritual - Level 8 - Earth Warrior - Attack: 3000. Defense: 2500.)

3 Legendary Warriors.

3 warriors born from Chaos itself.

3 warriors that were created to battle the legendary dragon that was rumoured to be the strongest being in the world were now on the field, as all of their swords brimmed with energy that couldn't be compared to. One showed the essence of Light, the other of Darkness and the other? Was the perfect combination.

"The first ever Ritual Summon…" Ryoken said as even though he had powerful monsters, even he was shocked to see the First Ever Monster that was Ritual Summoned into the game. He Ritual Summoned this monster during his duel against Mai Valentine in Duelist Kingdom.

"You dueled admiralty, Playmaker, however I am afraid that this will be the end of this bout. Ba-"

"Before you decide on the Battle Phase, I activate one of my set cards! Cynet Crosswipe!" Playmaker's left set card revealed itself, "With this, I have to tribute 1 Cyberse Monster I control in order to destroy 1 monster that you have on the field! I tribute my Black Luster Soldier to destroying your first summoned monster, Legendary Swordsman!"

Decode Talker broke through the bindings of the Spellbinding Circle as he then grabbed onto his sword with narrowed eyes. Both he and Legendary Swordsman looked at each other before they lunged into each other with the intent to kill each other. Decode Talker slashed first, piercing through Legendary Swordsman's body, however the Black Luster Soldier is not done as it slashed Decode Talker in return, creating a massive explosion, showing that it was a draw.

"Did he just leave himself wide open?!" Rin yelled in shock as she, Celina and Lulu appeared around Zuzu.

"Why would he do that?! Is he insane?!" yelled Celina as she couldn't imagine something like that.

"Maybe… he has something during the Battle Phase," said Lulu, which could probably be the solution to what Playmaker was thinking.

"Interesting strategy, but nonetheless, I shall continue with my turn! Battle! Black Luster Soldier - Envoy Of The Beginning attacks you directly! Chaos Blade - Evening Twilight!" yelled Yami as then Black Luster Soldier - Envoy Of The Beginning charged towards him as his blade brimmed with both dark and light energies together to attack Playmaker once and for all.

"Oh no! We are doomed! We are completely screwed! Oh the Humanity! Oh the Ignis! I can't watch!" Ai said as he closed his eyes, then he laughed, "Sike! Playmaker, show our counter measure."

"With pleasure! I activate Spool Code!" Playmaker's lone set card revealed itself as a barrier was formed, "If I am attacked directly, I can negate that attack if I so have 3 or more Cyberse monsters in my graveyard-"

"Which he have a grand total of 8!" said Ai as then images of Linkuriboh, Latency, Splash Mage, Firewall Defenser, Firewall Phantom, Decode Talker and Threshold Borg appeared around him as then the Black Luster Soldier - Envoy Of Beginning attacked, but was stopped dead with a barrier, making the legendary swordsman walk backwards to his master.

Everyone blinked. With the exception of those that knew him, they didn't expect him to create that much advantage with a single card.

"I didn't expect that." said Yugi.

"Neither did I." said Yami as he smiled, "Not bad, you not only eliminated a great threat on the field and stopped a lethal attack, you also created a decent defense so that you could build up on that. However… you didn't say that the Battle Phase was over, did you? Black Luster Soldier attacks the middle one! Chaos Blade - Original Warrior!" yelled Yami as the Black Luster Soldier attacks and destroys the middle Spool Token, creating a small explosion as a result.

Yami then took a card from his hand, "I will end my turn by setting a card face down." a card was set vertically behind the two Black Luster Soldiers.

Turn 5. Playmaker - 1300 lp - 2 cards

"Phew! We survived that one!" said Ai as Playmaker nodded.

"That's right, but we can not get comfortable right now, we still have to find a way to clear out his board." said Playmaker as Ai groaned.

"Don't remind me. Seriously, 2 3000 attack points monsters that look like actual monsters. Are we fighting Varis again?!" Ai asked as Playmaker narrowed his eyes.

"No, we are facing someone that is tougher than Varis. We have to fight with everything that I have! I draw!" yelled Playmaker as he drew the top card of his deck as they looked at it.

"Welp. That is a dud." replied Ai.

"On the contrary. Every card has their values and they can be used in a way that could lead to a surefied victory! Like this! I create the ultimate circuit!" On Playmaker's side appeared a circuit, "The Summoning Condition is 1 Normal Monster, so I set my right Spool Token in the Link Arrow!" His Right Spool Token then flew towards the bottom Link Arrow.

"Link The Circuit! I Link Summon! Link-1, Link Spider!" On Playmaker's Right Extra Monster Zone appeared a rather large spider that creeped a lot of viewers out, as the thing had 4 pairs of legs with the skin of the spider being pitch black as it had light neon blue lines around the entire body.

"Hey, Yusei," the leader of Team 5ds looked at Crow, "If you are creeped out by it, it is alright…. we are here for you." which made Akiza, Leo and Luna chuckle at that with Jack smirking in amusement.

Yusei sighed at that, "Crow, for the last time, I am not afraid of spiders or insects."

"Really?" they turned to Jack, "Because you ran up to me and jumped into my arms, yelling, "Help me, Jack, help me!" because you saw a slightly big cockroach." said Jack as that made Yusei look annoyed as Team 5ds continued laughing.

"Link Spider's effect activates! Once Per Turn, I can special summon 1 Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from my hand into the Link Arrow it points to!" yelled Playmaker as they did admit that would help out most of their strategies with that monster as he grabbed a card from his hand, "Come out, Digitron!"

On his field appeared a small digital monster with a sleek white design as it was floating with ears that popped out. It had 3 white horns with light neon blue eyes.

(Digitron: Level 2 - Earth Cyberse - Attack: 1500. Defense: 0.)

"Then I will create my ultimate circuit for the 2nd time!" yelled Playmaker as he then threw his hand into the air as then a Circuit appeared in the air, "The Summoning Conditions is one level 4 or lower Cyberse monster, so I set my Digitron in the Link Arrow!" yelled The Hero Of Link VRAINS as the monster flew into the air.

"Link The Circuit! I Link Summon! Link-1, Link Disciple!" yelled Playmaker as then on Link Spider's Link Arrow appeared a small digital warrior. It had a white jacket with red lining, as the front was of a black suit, as the head was that of a helmet with blue lines. It had crystal red wings on the back with a short red, black and blue colouring.

(Link Disciple: Link - Light Cyberse - Attack: 500. Link-1. Link Arrow: Bottom-Middle.)

"Now, this is enough for me to create the ultimate circuit for the 3rd time!" a circuit appeared above Playmaker's field as he then narrowed his eyes, "The Summoning Conditions are exactly 3 monsters, so I set my Link-1 Link Spider, Link-1 Link Disciple and my Spool Token in the Link Arrows!" yelled Playmaker as all three monsters flew upwards as they hit two on the middle while one hit the bottom one.

"Link The Circuit! I Link Summon! Link-3, Powercode Talker!" On Playmaker's Right Extra Monster zone appeared a monster that was similar in design of his Decode Talker. It had red digital codes around the entire being as it had red coloured armour with golden lining, with the gauntlets being white on his arms and legs, as it had green orbs on its chest and shoulders. It had a chain on its right arm.

(Powercode Talker: Link - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 2300. Link-3. Link Arrows: Middle-Left, Middle-Right and Bottom-Left.)

"Cynet Codec's effect goes off!" yelled Playmaker as Ai pointed at the newly summoned Powercode Talker.

"We can now add 1 Fire Cyberse monster from our deck since Powercode is a Fire Attributed monster and the lucky monster we pick is our Flame Bufferlo!" explained Ai as The Hero Of Link VRAINS took a card that popped from the deck as he then took it.

"Which I will then summon!" yelled Playmaker as then on his field appeared the monster that he just added. It was a mechanical bull that had a black colouring scheme as it was on fire, which the fire was blue coloured. The monster roared as it looked at his opponent. It was on Powercode Talker's Bottom-Left Link Arrow.

(Flame Bufferlo: Level 3 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 1400. Defense: 200.)

"He is building his field, he must have something planned." said Shark as he looked at the duel with narrowed eyes.

"Now… Battle!" yelled Playmaker, shocking mostly everyone.

"Huh?!"

"Powercode Talker will attack your Black Luster Soldier - Envoy Of The Beginning! Power Smash!" yelled Playmaker as then Powercode Talker then flared up his fist as the fist was colouring in red mist that covered his entire body and fist, in order to take down his foe. The monster then charged directly towards the powerful Chaos Soldier.

"I have no clue what you are trying to do, but I won't give up! Black Luster Soldier - Envoy Of Beginning has higher attack points, so it will attack it with a counter attack! Chaos Blade - Soldier Soul!" yelled Yami as the Black Luster Soldier then charged directly towards the Powercode Talker that was flying towards him as his blade brimmed with dark and light energy.

"Too bad it won't survive!" yelled Ai as the Dark Ignis then explained, "Powercode Talker's effect allows it to tribute a monster it points to," Flame Bufferlo disappeared into data as Powercode Talker continued to charge towards it, "So that its attack points are now doubled to its original attack points!" yelled Ai which took everyone by the surprise.

"WHAT?!"

Powercode Talker: 2300 - 4600 attack points

Powercode Talker then dashed towards Black Luster Soldier faster than ever before, catching him by the surprise as the warrior dropped his blade to the ground as Powercode Talker's fist pierced through his stomach, making the original Black Luster Soldier gasp as then an explosion erupted onto the stage, knocking mostly everyone except Playmaker off their feet.

Yami: 4000 - 2400 lp

Powercode Talker then went back towards Playmaker in a way to show that it was hungry for more.

"Flame Bufferlo's effect activates! Once it leaves the field in any way possible, I can discard 1 Cyberse monster from my hand," said Playmaker as then he discarded a monster from his hand, "So I can draw 2 cards from my deck!" he yelled as he looked at the cards with narrowed eyes, "I will then set 2 cards face down and end my turn." said Playmaker as 2 cards were vertically set behind Powercode Talker before disappearing.

Turn 6. Yami - 2400 lp - 1 card

"Wow, he is getting more interesting by the minute." Yami looked back at Yugi with a smile on his face, "Even while defeating 2 Black Luster Soldiers back to back, he was still able to put up a defense so that he won't be naked for your turn."

"I concur, partner, and I have to find a new way to get around that Powercode since I have run out of my Black Luster Soldier monsters that I can comfortably use." Yami thought as he then looked at his lone set card with a smirk, "And I have an idea on which monster I want to use."

"Oh? Will it be that new Synchro Monster that Kaiba gave us?" Yugi asked as Yami nodded.

"Precisely." Yami thought as he then drew the top card of his deck. He looked at it with a smile on his face, "This will be handy if he still has a set card or that Cynet Codec on his side of the field." Yami placed the card in his hand as he then thrusted his hand forward, "I activate my Trap! Prologue of the Destruction Swordsman!"

Kaiba then let out a small grin, "So, he finally chose to use the new cards I have given him."

Mokuba turned to him, "What do you mean by that, Seto?"

"Just watch and learn, Mokuba." was all that Kaiba could say at the moment.

"I don't like how he said that." Tea whispered to her friends.

"Who does?!" asked Tristan.

Yami continued, "This card allows me to send 1 Destruction Sword card and 1 Buster Blader monster from my deck to my graveyard," Yami took out his deck as he searched for two cards to send, "I will send Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordmaster and Destruction Sword Memories to my graveyard so I can Special Summon from my Extra Deck a very special monster. It is Special because it isn't a Fusion Monster, but rather, a Synchro Monster."

That shocked everyone.

The King Of Games was known for using several Fusion and Ritual monsters in his deck to overcome several obstacles in his way, even if they were monsters that he usually couldn't defeat without help. He even had the 3 Egyptian God Cards, the strongest monsters in the entire game, yet he has never used a single Synchro, XYZ, Pendulum or Link Monster…

…until now.

"Synchro Summon?!" yelled Yusei and Yuya in shock.

"Synchro What?" asked Yuma and his friends that weren't Kite.

"What Summon?" asked all of Jaden's friends as Jaden knew about this type of summoning when he dueled with Yami and Yusei against Paradox.

"What What?!" yelled Ai in shock.

"You can Synchro Summon?!" yelled Playmaker in shock as he was expecting many things. Yami Synchro Summoning was not one of them.

"You can not be the King Of Games if you can't adapt to the game!" Yami then closed his eyes as he began to chant, "Oh small welp of whom the swordsman swore to protect, turn into the very thing that he swore to destroy as his heart breaks apart from realization of what he has to do! I Synchro Summon! Appear, Buster Dragon!"

On his field flew down a massive dragon. The monster's skin was as tough as steel and diamond, with it being coloured a dark shade of black with a hint of red, as it had claws on his 4 arms and feet, with a long tail that circled around the entire monster with it being filled with quills as the monster glared at Playmaker. It had quills all over the entire dragon that was yellow and red at the same time. It was in defense mode.

(Buster Dragon: Synchro - Level 7 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 1200. Defense: 2800.)

"This is… The King Of Games' Synchro Monster…" Kolter dropped his jaw looking at it.

"I didn't expect him to summon that monster." said Playmaker as Ai was screaming as he held onto his head.

"Figuring out the mechanics of Synchro and XYZ Summoning was tough, however, I have found a way to get them to work for my and Yugi's deck," said Kaiba with a smirk on his face as he remembered making his Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon and Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon for his Extra Deck.

"Hey Koiba, do you think you can make one for me?" asked Joey.

"Sure, Wheeler, when Playmaker wins this duel." sarcastically said Kaiba.

"...Suddenly I want Yug' to lose." said Joey as they looked at him shocked when he said that.

"There are 2 things that you should be aware of. My Buster Dragon is destroyed during the next turn's End Phase," Playmaker narrowed his eyes at that, making a mental note, "The second thing is that all monsters you control become into Dragons!" yelled Yami as Buster Dragon roared, making Powercodde Talker step backwards from the pressure.

Powercode Talker: Cyberse - Dragon

"Why would he do that?" asked Ai as Playmaker widened his eyes in shock.

"Buster Blader…" Ai turned to the Hero Of Link VRAINS, "It is a deck specifically designed to beat over Dragon monsters and with the way he built up his field and graveyard… a new monster will be summoned."

"You are correct, Playmaker, as I banish from my graveyard Destruction Sword Memories!" three cards popped out The King Of Games' graveyard as he then took them, "I can Fusion Summon 1 Buster Blader Fusion Monster by banishing Fusion Materials listed on it from my graveyard, so I banish my Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordmaster and Buster Whelp of The Destruction Swordsman to Fuse into the Strongest Dragon Slaying monster!"

A swordsman appeared on the field that wore a blue coloured armour with red highlights around the entire armour, with a freakishly long sword and a small baby dragon with white fur and eagle-like wings appeared on the field before merging together. Yami began to chant, "Lone Warrior, saddened of whom he had to kill, combine your energy of your friend to transcend into a being both of you are proud of! I Fusion Summon! Come! Buster Blader, The Dragon Destroyer Swordsman!"

Next to Black Luster Soldier and Buster Dragon, appeared the strongest warrior they have seen, as his aura was that of an experienced warrior that lost everything. The man's statue was that of a man that lost everything, but came back into a better person. His armour was a perfect blend of purple, blue and white as there were golden lining around his entire monster, as he carried a massive white coloured sword that was that of a Dragon's wings. He carried the sword as he glared at his opponent.

(Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman: Fusion - Level 8 - Light Warrior - Attack: 2800. Defense: 2500.)

"DAH! That thing is scary looking!" yelled Ai.

"Woah! Who knew that The King Of Games packs so many cool looking Warriors." said Yuma as Astral narrowed his eyes as he focused on someone else.

"If that is the case, why is Playmaker not worried during all of this?" asked Astral as they focused to see Playmaker ready for everything that was about to happen.

"Not scared? Interesting. I would consider this monster to have several special abilities. The one downside is that it can not attack directly," began Yami as Playmaker narrowed his eyes, "Though that does not matter with his other special abilities. Every Dragon monster you control go to defense mode as it helps that it can deal piercing damage," Powercode Talker didn't change modes, "Then, your Dragons can no longer activate their effects."

"Well, that is great to know!" Ai sarcastically said.

"The only way we can remove that monster is through battle then…" Playmaker noted.

"That's right, however, I am not done with my monster's special ability! My Buster Blader gains 1000 attack and defense points for every Dragon monster on the field and graveyard." said Yami as then the newly summoned Fusion Monster roared in power as he looked at Powercode Talker.

Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman: 2800 - 3800 attack/ 2500 - 3500 defense points

"Just one attack and this is over." said Leo as he leaned forward.

"Now, time-"

"Not so fast! I activate my Trap card, Three Strikes Barrier!" One of Playmaker's set cards was revealed as then three barriers appeared on the field, one green, one blue and the other green, "If you control exactly 3 Monsters, I can activate one of 3 effects. I will choose the second one, which is that I don't take any damage for the rest of the turn!" Then the red and blue barriers disappeared as the green one covered Playmaker.

"So he lives another turn," said Shark as he bit his lip .

"Well, I can still attack and destroy your monster! Buster Blader, The Dragon Destroyer Swordsman attacks your Powercode Talker! Dragonic Destruction!" yelled Yami as then the Buster Blader then grabbed onto his blade as then he exploded in light energy that covered his entire body. The man then looked at Powercode Talker as he then dashed forward, with the intent to murder this monster as then he appeared right next to the Link-3 monster with a raised sword, ready to strike down the monster.

"That won't happen as well! I activate Overload Anchor!" a chain and an anchor shot open from a Trap card and latched onto one of the hands of Powercode Talker, "With this, if the only monster I control is a Link Monster, I can equip it onto it so that it can not be destroyed by battle, then I halve the damage with the end of the Battle Phase!"

Powercode Talker then raised his newly added anchor upwards as then Buster Blader performed a downwards slash towards it with all of his force, even if it amounted to nothing as the Overload Anchor wasn't even scratched. Buster Blader and Powercode Talker glared at each other as the former walked back to his master.

"A second time in a row? Not bad, not bad at all. I end my turn after I set this card face down." a card was set vertically behind Buster Dragon, Black Luster Soldier and Buster Blader.

Turn 7. Playmaker - 1300 lp - 1 card

"This is great! We are facing against a monster that is one effect away from shooting the opponent if they have a Dragon on their field." said Ai as he breathed in and out.

"Ai, you are being overdramatic. We faced stronger monsters than this one." said The Hero Of Link VRAINS.

"Still…"

"Don't worry, there is no situation a duelist should not overcome. Anyone can find a way to get around a certain situation, such as this one! I draw!" yelled Playmaker as he drew the top card of his deck as he narrowed his eyes. This card would help him out immensely during this turn, even if he won't have a monster on his field.

Before Playmaker could do anything, Yami jumped in, "Before you do anything, I activate my trap! Dust Tornado! This card destroys one Spell or Trap on the field! While targeting your Cynet Codec would be a good target, I will pick your Overload Anchor!" yelled Yami as then a massive tornado appeared on the field as it then flew towards Playmaker's only Trap card on his field.

"Interesting choice, though that wouldn't have helped you! I activate my Spell card, Link Burst!" Ryoken smirked as he walked forward, "With this, I can target 1 Link Monster I control and 1 Monster you control and destroy them!" as then a Spell card appeared on the field as then a thunderbolt attacked and destroyed both Powercode Talker and Buster Blader.

"So you have found a way to get around my newly acquired monster." said The King Of Games with narrowed eyes.

"That's right. It was one of the new cards I have gotten from a friend." said Playmaker as Ai turned to him.

"You consider Varis a friend?" asked Ai.

"If I consider you a friend, then I consider him one as well." Playmaker countered as Ai thought about.

"Touche."

"Back to the duel, Link Burst has another effect and that is that I can draw a new card from my deck!" yelled Playmaker as he drew a new card from his new deck. He narrowed his eyes as he looked at the newly drawn card. He placed the card in his hand as he grabbed a different one, "I will summon my ROM Cloudia!"

On his field appeared a rather large sheep. The sheep had black fur around the entire animal with the front being beige coloured. It had pink coloured horns, tail and hooves.

(ROM Cloudia: Level 4 - Dark Cyberse - Attack: 1800. Defense: 0.)

ROM Cloudia: Cyberse - Dragon

Playmaker then narrowed his eyes as he knew most of his cards revolve around being Cyberse monsters on his field, which means that he has to find a way to destroy Buster Dragon fast as possible.

"I activate ROM Cloudia's effect! When she is normal summoned, I can add 1 Cyberse Monster from my graveyard to my hand!" a card popped out of his graveyard as he then took it, "I will pick my Latency!"

"Here is the kicker of Latency's effect! When she is added to the hand from the graveyard, she can be summoned!" The Dark Ignis said as his Origin then slammed the card on his duel disk. Latency appeared in their field.

Latency: Cyberse - Dragon

"I will then activate my Spell card, One-Kuri-Way!" The Spell card appeared on Playmaker's side of the field as it then began to glow, as a card was popped out of his graveyard to which he took it, "I target 1 Link-1 Link monster in either of our graveyard and I can either return it to the Extra Deck or Special Summon it. I will choose the latter, so come out! Link Disciple!"

Playmaker slammed the card on his field as then the Link Disciple appeared on the field.

Link Disciple: Cyberse - Dragon

"He is building up his field for something great. I can feel it." said Declan as he leaned forward, interested to see how Playmaker would handle 2 powerful monsters in this turn.

"Now, your Buster Dragon is a good counter to my deck, since it changes its attribute, making me unable to use a good chunk of the cards in my deck as they require a Cyberse Monster on my field, however, I have a way to get around that and that is not by battle…" said Playmaker as a card popped out of his graveyard, "I activate from my graveyard my Grid Sweeper!"

"Here is one that you should be worried for! Grid Sweeper banishes itself and a Link Monster on our field so we can destroy one monster on your side of the field!" Ai yelled as Link Disciple disappeared as Grid Sweeper appeared above everyone.

Yami gasped, "You found another way around that?!" yelled Yami in complete shock.

"That's right, and I choose your Buster Dragon!" Playmaker pointed at the newly acquired Synchro Monster as then Grid Sweeper flew straight towards Buster Dragon as it then crashed into the being, performing a kamikaze to take down the dragon with a massive explosion. "So, your Buster Dragon's effect is no longer available!"

Latency: Dragon - Cyberse

ROM Cloudia: Dragon - Cyberse

"In one turn, he took down all of the important combo pieces and without even attacking once." Yuri smirked.

"This kid is no joke." Yugo replied to the Predaplant Duelist.

"Now… time for me to go all out! I create the ultimate circuit!" yelled Playmaker as he then threw his hand out in the air as a circuit appeared above it, "The Summoning Conditions require 2 Effect monsters, so I set my Latency and ROM Cloudia in the Link Arrows!" yelled Playmaker as the two monsters went up and downwards.

"Link The Circuit! I Link Summon! Link-2, Code Talker!" On Playmaker's Left Extra Monster Zone appeared a new looking monster. It was a mini version of his Decode Talker, but his armour was silver instead of purple as the lines were gray instead of purple. It carried a smaller version of the sword and it was gray.

(Code Talker: Link - Dark Cyberse - Attack: 1300. Link-2. Link Arrows: Top-Middle and Bottom-Middle.)

"Two effects go off at the same time! Thanks to Cynet Codec's effect, I can add 1 Dark Attributed Cyberse monster from my deck since I summoned a Dark Attributed Code Talker," Playmaker said as a card popped out of his deck as he then took it. "I add my Micro Coder, then since Latency was used as a Link Material by using her effect, I can draw a card from my deck!" yelled Playmaker as he drew the top card of his deck.

"FYI, Micro Coder has an effect that is quite busted! If we would use a Cyberse Monster for a Link Summon of a Code Talker, we can use it from the hand as well!" explained Ai, shocking everyone.

"WHAT?!" They were shocked to hear that. Imagine a card like that for Synchro Summoning or XYZ Summoning. That would be busted!

"Now I will create the ultimate circuit once more!" a second Link Circuit appeared above Playmaker's head, "The Summoning Conditions are at least 2 Effect Monsters, so I set my Link-2 Code Talker and the Micro Coder from my hand to Link Summon!" yelled Playmaker as Micro Coder, who was basically an even smaller version of Code Talker, appeared on the field as they filled right, bottom and top Link Arrows.

"Link The Circuit! I Link Summon! Link-3, Transcode Talker!" On Playmaker's Left Extra Monster Zone appeared a rather bulky monster. The monster had large shoulders with them being that for a sniper scope, as it had massive mechanical hands, with the knees being white with orange highlights as the monster had orange coloured armour as it carried a sniper.

(Transcode Talker: Link - Earth Cyberse - Attack: 2300. Link-3. Link Arrows: Top-Middle, Middle-Right and Bottom-Middle.)

"2 effects go off at the same time! Since I Special Summoned an Earth Attribute Code Talker, Cynet Codec allows me to add an Earth Attributed monster," a card popped out of his deck as he then took it, "I will add my Swap Cleric! Next, since Micro Coder was used to Link Summon a Code Talker monster from my hand, I can add 1 Cynet Spell or Trap card from the deck! I will add my Cynet Recovery, which I will then activate!"

As then a Continuous Spell card appeared on the field, "This card allows us to special summon a Cyberse Monster from our graveyard if a Link Monster is destroyed!" explained the Dark Ignis.

Yami narrowed his eyes, "That means even during my Turn, he will get a monster to protect himself from all danger and protect his life points for even one attack, not to mention if he decides to revive his Flame Bufferlo, he can gain card advantage. Clever." The King Of Games thought to himself.

"Now, I will activate the effect of Transcode Talker! I can special summon 1 Link-3 or lower Cyberse Link Monster from my graveyard to the Link Arrow it points to!" explained Playmaker much to the shock of all that watched.

"I am starting to see how he is known as The Strongest Of Today." said Alexis as her friends nodded to that.

"Come out, Splash Mage!" yelled Playmaker as then the Water Cyberse Link Monster was summoned onto the field.

"The Best Part? Its effects aren't negated!" Yami took a step backwards, "So we will use this to special summon our boy, Flame Bufferlo!" yelled Ai as Playmaker took a card from his graveyard and slammed it on his duel disk. Flame Bufferlo appeared on the field.

"I should really get that card for my deck, huh?" Theodore thought about adding that card for his deck as it is a perfect match for the type of deck he uses.

"Now-"

"THERE IS MORE?!"

"I create the ultimate circuit for the 3rd time!" a Circuit appeared above Playmaker's field as he then threw his hands out, "The Summoning Conditions are at least 2 Cyberse Monsters, so I set my Link-2 Splash Mage and Flame Bufferlo in the Link Arrows!" yelled Playmaker as the monsters flew upwards and sideways.

"Link The Circuit! I Link Summon! Link-3, Excode Talker!" on Transcode Talker's Bottom-Middle's Link Arrow appeared a new monster. It was a slimmer monster than the previous one as the monster had a green coloured armour with green coloured lines with the lines being golden coloured, as it had massive shields on its hands with spikes on the shoulder pads.

(Excode Talker: Link - Wind Cyberse - Attack: 2300. Link-3. Link Arrows: Top-Middle, Middle-Left and Middle-Right.)

"3 Effects go off at the same time! The first is that when Excode Talker is Link Summoned, I can target 1 unused Main Monster Zone and block it up to the number of monsters in the Extra Monster Zones! I pick the one that Transcode Talker points to! Grasp Zone!" yelled Playmaker as Excode Talker created balls of green energy as he shot upwards as it then created a wall next to Black Luster Soldier.

"Then, Cynet Codec allows me to add a Wind Cyberse Monster from my deck! I will pick my Code Exporter from my deck!" a card popped out of Playmaker's deck as he then took it and placed them in his deck. "Now, Flame Bufferlo's effect goes off! When it leaves the field, I can send a Cyberse Monster from my hand to draw 2 cards." Playmaker did as he said so.

"Now… Transcode Talker and Excode Talker's effects go off." they were astonished this man could go this long without taking a breath. "When Excode Talker is Co-Linked with a monster, that monster gains 500 attack points and the monster is unable to be destroyed by card effects, then Transcode Talker makes the monster it is Co-Linked and himself gain 500 attack points as they are unable to be targeted by card effects."

Many took spit takes hearing that as both monsters roared as they then glew red for a long while. This man is currently going off the rails of what he is doing in one turn.

Transcode Talker: 2300 - 3300 attack points

Excode Talker: 2300 - 2800 attack points

They then realized one thing.

Transcode Talker has more attack points than Black Luster Soldier and if it lands, Excode Talker could attack directly and… win the duel.

"If this connects…"

"Yusaku won!" began Kolter as Skye finished.

"Go off, man!" cheered Theodore.

"We are almost at the finish line, baby!" yelled Ai as Ryoken smiled.

"Battle! Transcode Talker attacks your Black Luster Soldier! Trans Finish!" yelled Playmaker as Transcode Talker's shoulders began to rotate so that his shoulder was comfortable for him to point and hold his newly made sniper as then he grabbed onto as from the tip of the gun began to charge up a laser as it then shot straight towards Black Luster Soldier's chest, making a massive explosion.

Everyone then saw the result and it showed Yami standing with nothing on his field with a shocked expression.

Playmaker: 1300 lp

Yami: 2400 - 2100 lp

"No way…" Mokuba gasped.

"At this stage of the duel?!" asked Tea in shock as Tristan stood up.

"Oh heck no!"

"Yugi, you can survive!" yelled Duke.

Joey looked at Kaiba, who was sweating like crazy.

"I made a terrible mistake saying this to you." admitted Kaiba.

"This was fun, but… BATTLE! Excode Talker attacks you directly! Excode Finish!" yelled Playmaker as then Excode Talker then raised his hands upwards as green energy formed on his palms as he then glared at his enemy as he threw the ball of energy right towards Yami… who smirked.

"Are you sure about that?" asked Yami as Playmaker gasped, "You still have a long way until you win! I discard and activate Ankuriboh! By discarding this card, I can special summon 1 monster from graveyard in defense mode, however they go back to the graveyard at the end of the turn." said Yami as then he grabbed a card from his graveyard.

"Come out, Black Luster Soldier!" yelled Yami as then the Black Luster Soldier appeared on the field in defense mode.

Before the Ritual Monster could even react and cut the balls of energy in half, the balls of energy went towards the Ritual Monster's chest and destroys it.

"Ahh glitch! He found a way to survive." Ai moaned.

"That is the King Of Games, Ai." Playmaker frowned as he looked at his hand as he then took 2 cards from his hand, "I will end my turn by setting two cards face down." 2 cards were set vertically behind Transcode and Excode Talker as they then disappeared.

Turn 8. Yami - 2100 lp - 0 cards

"There is something about him… He is a remarkable duelist, unlike anyone I have ever fought in my entire life. He is a duelist that knows how his deck works and knows how to use it at its highest potential, but there is something about him that I can not put my finger on…" Yami thought as he thought he was one of the toughest people he has ever fought, though there was something about him that confuses him.

Yami then shook it off, knowing that what he wonders will be answered in a short while. Yami looked at his deck, "Alright, Deck, I want you to hear my call. I am dueling against someone that I need help, so please hear my call, give me the card that will give me an advantage in this fight!"

Yami then yelled out, "I DRAW!" yelled Yami as he then looked at it with a small smile on his face, "Thank you… I activate the Spell Card, Roll of Fate! This card allows me to roll a 6 sided die and judging on the number it lands on, I can draw that many cards for the price of sending the top cards from my deck to my graveyard." explained Yami.

"Say What!?" Ai yelled out as Playmaker widened his eyes, "That means even if he rolls a 1, he still has a good chance of drawing the card he needs!"

"Precisely! So, come out, Die Of Destiny!" From The Spell card appeared an arm which then rolled a 6 sided die, which was coloured red with white dots on them, as it began to roll. Everyone looked on with anticipation on what will land on and to their absolute shock, it landed on a 4.

"A 4?!" yelled Sylvio in shock.

"That's right! And now, I get to draw 4 cards from my deck!" yelled Yami as he drew the top 4 cards from his deck as he then sent out 4 cards and to his surprise, they were really good ones as they were Chaos Form, Alpha The Magnet Warrior, Beta The Magnet Warrior and a monster that he grinned once he saw being sent to the graveyard.

Yami then looked at his hand as he nodded, "This is a great hand, thank you my deck. I will play Dian Keto The Cure Master!" a nun appeared on the field as she turned towards The King Of Games, "When activated, she allows me to gain 1000 life points, so go! Holy Love!" yelled Yami as then the nun turned around and showered him with a holy glow with a smile on her face.

Playmaker: 1300 lp

Yami: 2100 - 3100 lp

"Well there goes our hard work." said Ai as he placed his hand on his chin, wondering what will happen next in this turn.

Yami looked at his hand and smiled as he will be playing a couple of new cards for his Gaia monsters as they were one of his favourite monsters to use in the game, "If I control no monsters, or you control a monster with 2300 or more attack points, which you have two off, I am allowed to Normal Summon Gaia The Magical Knight without a single tribute, so come!"

On his field appeared a warrior with deep blue skin, wearing deep blue armour that showed his muscles underneath, with dark blue shoulder pads, red lining with a cape of similar colours, carrying a golden lance that was riding a rather large horse with blue hooves, red skin, dark black hair that wore a helmet that had a similar colouring scheme to his armour. The monster glared at the two monsters.

(Gaia The Magical Knight: Level 7 - Light Warrior - Attack: 2300. Defense: 2100.)

Kaiba then looked down to see his rival using his new cards to the fullest, "So Yugi is using the new Gaia monsters for this duel, how interesting."

"How… how many did you make for him?" asked Tea as Kaiba then glanced at her.

"To put it simply, a lot. Every archetype that he played, I made new cards for him so that every duel he is in to be interesting and to give me a challenge for when we duel." said Kaiba as he looks forward to their next duel.

Yami then thrusted his arm forward, "I will now activate the effect of my Gaia The Magical Knight! When he is Normal or Special Summoned, I can special summon a Level 5 Dragon from my hand or graveyard, so come out, Curse of Dragon, the Cursed Dragon!" yelled Yami as he then slammed a card on his duel disk as then another monster appeared.

It was a slim looking dragon with ancient gold coloured skin as it looked like it was just made out of bones. It had rather huge wings for something too small as it covered up most of the arena and even its master. It roared once summoned.

(Curse Of Dragon, The Cursed Dragon: Level 5 - Dark Dragon - Attack: 2000. Defense: 1500.)

"I am sorry, but that name is just… redundant, y'know?" asked Skye as they had to agree that name does even make any sense.

Yami didn't hear her so he continued, "Curse Of Dragon has an effect! When he is Normal Or Special Summoned, I can add 1 Spell or Trap card from my deck to my hand that lists Gaia The Dragon Champion in its name, so," The King Of Games pulled out his deck as he then took a specific card from his deck and added to his hand, "I add Spiral Fusion!"

Jaden leaned in, ready to see another Fusion Monster by the King Of Games.

"Which I will now activate! This card allows me to Fusion Summon 1 Dragon Fusion monster using monsters on my field or hand, so I fuse my Gaia The Magical Knight and Curse Of Dragon, The Cursed Dragon to Fusion Summon a new form of a monster!" The two then combined into each other thanks to a Red-Blue Spiral Vortex as they then combined into each other.

Yami then began to chant, "The Magical Knight grew his power in order to break the curse of his own power, as all dragons fall under his own fierce power! I Fusion Summon! Gaia The Magical Knight Of Dragons!" as then, on Yami's side of the field appeared a strong monster that was a combination of the two. The warrior had blue skin which wore armour that was dark blue with red lining as the shoulder pads were dark blue as he carried two large lances. He was riding an ancient dragon that had golden skin with long wings as there were several spikes around the monster.

(Gaia The Magical Knight Of Dragons: Fusion - Level 7 - Wind Dragon - Attack: 2600. Defense: 2100.)

"Woah! That is a strong looking Dragon!" said Celina as she admired the newly summoned monster.

"There are several effects! The first is that thanks to Spiral Fusion summoning Gaia The Dragon Champion, which Gaia The Magical Knight of Dragon is always treated while on the field, it gains a total of 2600 additional attack points!" yelled Yami as then Gaia The Magical Knight Of Dragons glared at the two monsters that were on the field.

Gaia The Magical Knight Of Dragons: 2600 - 5200 attack points

"Then, Curse of Dragon, The Cursed Dragon, what a mouthful, activates its second effect! Once it leaves the field, all of your monsters that are on the field that have less or equal to the amount of attack points it has lose their effects!" yelled Yami.

"What?!"

"Ahh Glitch!"

Transcode Talker: 3300 - 2300 attack points

Excode Talker: 2800 - 2300 attack points

"Our monsters are now more empty than a bottle of ketchup!" screamed Ai as he knew that there was no chance of getting around this.

"Before I do anything more, I will activate my Spell Card, Aurora Draw. If I control no other cards in my hand, I can draw 2 cards from my deck." explained Yami as he drew the top 2 cards from his deck as he then narrowed his eyes. They were good, but not for the moment. One of them could work for Rock Monsters and the other works for Ritual Monsters.

"Well… There is something else I want to do and that is to use my Gaia The Magical Knight of Dragons' effect! By dropping 2600 attack points, I can target and destroy 1 monster on your side of the field." said Yami as Playmaker then widened his eyes hearing that, "I will pick your Transcode Talker!" Gaia The Magical Knight Of Dragons then glew blue for a moment.

Gaia The Magical Knight Of Dragons: 5200 - 2600 attack points

"Go! Spiral Lance!" yelled Yami as then he commanded his monster to attack a monster. The Lance of the monster began to rotate as it then began to flare up as it burst into flames as Curse Of Dragons roared in power as it then shot fireballs into the lance, boosting the lance into blue flames. The monster then charged straight towards the Link-3 Monster with so much ferocity, it destroyed the sound barrier as he grabbed his Lance and pointed straight towards Transcode Talker as it then-

"I won't let you! I activate my Trap card, Recoded Alive! I can target 1 Link-3 Cyberse Link Monster I control and banish it, so I choose my Transcode Talker," before Gaia could even land a hit on Transcode, it disappeared into data, "Then, I can special summon 1 Code Talker monster from my Extra Deck!" a card popped out of his Extra Deck to which he took it.

"Come out! Shootingcode Talker!" On Excode Talker's Middle-Right Link Arrow appeared a new Code Talker. It was a slim cybernetic warrior that had blue coloured armour with orange orbs around it, golden coloured lining as he had yellow coloured knees. He carried a gold coloured bow and arrow with long angel wings.

(Shootingcode Talker: Link - Water Cyberse - Attack: 2300. Link-3. Link Arrows: Top-Middle, Middle-Right and Bottom-Middle.)

"Wanna hear the best part of Cynet Codec? It even works for your turn! So now we add a Water Cyberse monster from our deck to our hand!" yelled The Dark Ignis as then a card popped out of the duel disk to which Playmaker took it.

"I pick Sea Archiver!" yelled Playmaker.

Yugi blinked as he appeared next to Yami, "Huh… He is really good. He managed to do so much during our turn, huh Pharaoh?" asked Yugi as Yami nodded.

"Right, partner. Though… there is this feeling I have about him… let's see if I can find it during this or the next turn! Battle!" yelled Yami as he shot his arm forward, "Gaia The Magical Knight Of Dragons attacks your Shootingcode Talker! Blazing Spiral Lance!" yelled Yami as the lance that Gaia held onto then bursted into a pillar of flames as he then charged straight towards the Link-3 Monster.

"I activate Urgent Link! When you attack and I have no monsters in the Extra Monster Zone, I can halve any damage for that battle alone!" yelled Playmaker as Yami narrowed his eyes.

"That won't change your monsters being destroyed!" yelled back Yami as Ai grinned.

"Actually, it will! We banish from our graveyard our Protection Wizard to negate the destruction of a Link Cyberse Monster that we control!" Ai yelled as then Playmaker took a card from his graveyard as he showed the card and placed it in his pocket.

Yami gritted his teeth, "You still take damage!"

Gaia then charged straight forward as he then brought the lance back from his hand as he then glared at his enemy as the blazing lance that pierced through Shootingcode Talker, breaking its chest into two as the Curse Of Dragon part of the body then breathed hot fire on the monster which would have melted the monster into pieces, but fortunately, it only scratched the monster as then it shot two arrows at the two monsters as they were shot backwards.

Playmaker: 1300 - 1150 lp

Yami: 3100 lp

Playmaker breathed in and out as the Dark Ignis turned towards him, "Ya ready, Playmaker? For our Ace in the hole to show up?"

Playmaker nodded, "I am… Urgent Link has another effect! After the battle, I can perform a Link Summon using Monsters I control on the field!" yelled The Hero Of Link VRAINS as Ryoken knew what monster he would summon, the one that even was a rival to his Borreload Dragon, as then a circuit appeared above Playmaker.

"I create my ultimate circuit!" started Playmaker as the two Code Talkers were now ready, "The Summoning Conditions require at least 2 monsters! So I set my Link-3 Excode Talker and Link-3 Shootingcode Talker in the Link Arrows!" yelled The Hero Of Link VRAINS as then Excode Talker flew towards all of the Link Arrows it had as Shootingcode Talker went downwards.

"The mysterious power filling the universe! Rain down on the miracle to create life! I Link Summon! Appear! Link-4, Firewall Dragon!" On Playmaker's Right Extra Monster zone appeared his most trusted monster. It was a dragon with a slim build, as it unfolded its wings to show codes running through the wings as it had white skin. It had a tail with a blue circle at the end of it, which the digital circles covered the wings, legs, arms and even head. It had a slick white colour to it as there were blue digital lines running through the entire dragon.

The Sheer Summon of Firewall Dragon put everyone in a daze for several reasons.

One was that they thought Link-3s were the highest they could go, but he changed it to the point of being a Link-4 monster, which means that it was stronger than everything that he previously summoned.

The other was that he performed this task during the opponent's turn, showing the infinite potential of what he could perform.

The last was that it was simply one of the most beautiful looking dragons they have seen, not to mention one of the most badass looking. Some were powerful as the Galaxy, some could combine into a dragon with 2 different types of monsters into one, some could combine dimensions and some are as ancient as the game, yet this was one that looked different from all of them.

"There we go! The Ace is here!" cheered Skye as Theodore clapped his hands.

"Yeah! Once it is his turn, he can use his Firewall Dragon's effect to return Gaia to win the game!" yelled Theodore as Ryoken nodded, to which he noticed Yami being calm.

Kolter noticed this as well, "I don't think that would be possible." The two turned to him as they then turned to Yami as they realized what he was saying.

"Oh." that was their reaction.

"An impressive monster you have there, I am being honest with you, though I have one question… Will it be enough to stop one more attack?!" asked Yami as Playmaker took a step backwards.

"What?!"

"Spiral Fusion allows Gaia The Dragon Champion to attack twice per turn! You only stopped one attack, so here is round 2! Blazing Spiral Lance!" yelled Yami as then Gaia The Magical Knight of Dragons then flew faster than before, and before Firewall Dragon could even react to shoot an energy beam back at the monster, it was pierced in the chest and then burned alive.

Playmaker and Ai were speechless to see their Ace be summoned… and then be burned in a matter of seconds.

Playmaker: 1150 - 1050 lp

Yami: 3100 lp

"All of our hard work…" Ai fell down to his knees as Playmaker was still, "Was sent down the toilet."

"We mustn't lose hope over one simple move even if…" Playmaker gritted his teeth seeing his Ace Monster being destroyed like it was nothing. He shook his head. "Cynet Recovery's effect activates! When a monster I control is destroyed I can special summon a Cyberse Monster in defense mode, so come out, Flame Bufferlo!"

On his field appeared Flame Bufferlo in defense mode.

(Flame Bufferlo: Level 3 - Fire Cyberse - Attack: 1400. Defense: 200.)

"I admire your confidence and determination, though… let's see after this! Once Gaia The Magical Knight of Dragons destroys a monster by battle it gains another 2600 attack points!" yelled Yami as then his monster glew red for a long while as it looked straight forward at his opponent.

Gaia The Magical Knight Of Dragons: 2600 - 5200 attack points

"That ends my turn." said Yami as he then focused his attention on his opponent, "Now… let's see how you respond to this and I want to get something straight…" He thought.

Turn 9. Playmaker - 1050 lp - 3 cards

Playmaker breathed in and out. Even when he saw his Ace Monster be turned into nothing, but minced meat in one turn was something that he never thought would happen in such a short amount of time, he still had to continue. Though at what cost?

He isn't going to lose his life during this duel if he loses, Ai is safe if he wins or loses the duel and there are no stakes at the current matter so why would he continue to duel?

That was something that not even he knew the answer and as he looked at Yami, he knew that he had to continue dueling. "My turn… I draw." Playmaker drew the top card of his deck as he looked at it. He placed the card in his hand as he then took out another card, "I will perform a normal Summon of my Swap Cleric!"

On his field appeared a small mechanical robot as the robot had a blue coloured hat with orange glasses. He held a rod that was golden with an emerald on top of it with golden lining. He had a purple rod behind it and it looked like a nun or a priest, in a mechanical way.

(Swap Cleric: Level 2 - Earth Cyberse - Attack: 500. Defense: 1000.)

"This one is going to hurt you, buster! Cause in his hand, his Code Exporter can be used as a Link Material for a Code Talker like Micro Coder from before!" explained Ai as Playmaker nodded.

"That's right and now, I create my ultimate circuit!" yelled Playmaker as a Circuit appeared on the field, "The Summoning Conditions require at least 2 Cyberse Monsters, so I set my Flame Bufferlo, Swap Cleric and Code Exporter from my hand in order to summon out a new monster!" yelled Playmaker as both Flame Bufferlo and Swap Cleric went downwards, as then a mechanical green coloured bird went upwards.

"Link The Circuit! I Link Summon! Link-3, Encode Talker!" as then on Playmaker's Right Extra Monster Zone appeared another cybernetic warrior. He had cyan coloured armour with golden lining, as its codes were gray, as it had two boosters at the back of the monster as well as a shield that Encode Talker carried in his arms.

(Encode Talker: Link - Light Cyberse - Attack: 2300. Link-3. Link Arrows: Top-Middle, Bottom-Middle and Bottom-Right.)

"4 Effects go off at the same time!" They were absolutely shocked that one summoning could do so much in one turn, "Cynet Codec allows me to add a Light Attributed Cyberse monster from my deck to my hand and I will add my Rescue Interlancer!" yelled Playmaker as he added the card that popped out of his deck.

"Then, Swap Cleric allows the Link Monster it was used for to lose 500 attack points in order for us to draw 1 card!" explained Ai as Encode Talker glew blue for a moment.

Encode Talker: 2300 - 1800 attack points

Playmaker then drew the top card of his deck as he then took a card from his hand, "Next, I will discard my Sea Archiver to activate Flame Bufferlo's effect, allowing me to draw 2 additional cards from my deck," said Playmaker as he drew another 2 cards from his deck.

"Y'know, I am starting to believe that his Flame Bufferlo is the true ace of his deck." commented Jaden as Aster turned to him.

"You are not one to talk Mister Summon Bubbleman Draw 2." said Aster as they had to agree with the Destiny HERO duelist on that one.

"Finally, I activate Code Exporter's final effect. If it was used to Link Summon a monster, I get to add 1 Cyberse Monster from my graveyard to my hand," said Playmaker as a card popped out of his duel disk as then everyone remembered the one Cyberse Monster that gains advantage when added from the graveyard, "Now, I will activate Latency's effect! Summoning her once more!"

On his field appeared Latency.

(Latency: Level 1 - Light Cyberse - Attack: 0. Defense: 0.)

"I don't like where this is going." said Yugi.

"Neither do I, partner." said Yami as he narrowed his eyes at Playmaker.

"Now, I will create my ultimate circuit once more!" a circuit appeared above Playmaker's head as he looked upwards, "The Summoning Condition is 1 Level 4 or lower Cyberse Monster, so I set my Latency in the Link Arrows!" yelled Playmaker as then the time Cyberse went upwards to fly up to the Top-Middle Link Arrow.

"Link the Circuit! I Link Summon! Link-1, Link Devotee!" yelled Playmaker as on Encode Talker's Bottom-Middle Link Arrow appeared a small monster. It was a cybernetic being that appeared to be that of a machine as there were several crystals hanging above his head as there were small arms and legs that looked like those crystals.

(Link Devotee: Link - Earth Cyberse - Attack: 500. Link-1. Link Arrow: Top-Middle.)

"When Link Devotee is Special Summoned, I can no longer Link Summon Link-3 or higher Link Monsters, though that won't matter much as Latency's effect activates, allowing me to draw 1 card." said Playmaker as he drew the top card from his deck. Ai looked at it and judging by his reaction, it wouldn't help the current turn, which is understandable-

"Battle!"

"Huh?" was the reaction of those that didn't know Playmaker's deck.

"Link Devotee attacks Gaia The Magical Knight Of Dragons!" yelled Playmaker, much to the shock of everyone.

Yami shook his head, "If you say so! Battle! Gaia counter attacks your Link Devotee!" yelled The King Of Games as then Gaia The Magical Knight Of Dragons then roared as he grabbed onto his lance, which then exploded in a fury of a thousand suns as he then charged forward to attack the Link-1 Monster as then once it thrusted his lance…

…Encode Talker stopped it with his shield.

"WHAT!?" everyone screamed in shock at seeing that.

"Encode Talker has an ability that allows him to negate an attack of one monster it points to against a monster and then I transfer the attack points of the monster it battled right towards my Encode Talker, which means that Encode Talker has a grand total of…" Encode Talker then glew red for a long time.

Encode Talker: 1800 + 5200 = 7000 attack points

"7000 ATTACK POINTS?!"

"That's right! And that will be enough to make your monster write home back to mommy and return back to her in just one strike! Go!" yelled Ai as then Encode Talker gripped his hand into a ball and sucker punched the man in his neck, much to his shock as the monster was hurled towards the ground as once he landed on the ground, it caused an explosion.

The victor was Encode Talker with Yami staying still, his eyes not on the victorious monster, but rather on his opponent.

Playmaker: 1050 lp

Yami: 3100 - 1300 lp

"BOOYAH! THAT IS HOW WE DO IT!" cheered Ai as Playmaker was stiffer than a statue as he grabbed onto 3 cards, "Buddy, aren't you going to cheer?"

Playmaker was silent as he grabbed 3 cards from his hand, "I end my turn after I set three cards face down." three cards were set vertically behind Encode Talker and Link Devotee, completing his entire Spell and Trap zones as they then disappeared.

Encode Talker: 7000 - 1800 attack points

The turn was officially over, Encode Talker was finally able to get around the monster that was troubling his user during the entire turn, he has a whole shield that would be able to keep him in the game for as long as he could before the end, yet his opponent didn't seem to be bothered by anything.

Instead he was not focusing on the monsters, no, he was focusing on him specifically.

That confused Playmaker on what the King Of Games was doing at the current moment.

Then he spoke, "Playmaker, can I ask you something?" asked Yami as Playmaker narrowed his eyes.

"Sure, go ahead." said Playmaker as he wanted to know what was in Yami's mind.

"Are you having fun?" asked Yami as that simple question changed the entire mood of the whole stadium that they were in.

Playmaker continued to stare at his opponent, "What do you mean by that?" he asked in a tone that wanted answers from the King Of Games.

"Here is the thing, throughout the entire duel, you gave out an energy and tone of someone that does not want to be here, but is here to comply to someone's wishes," Kaiba clicked his tongue hearing that, "You seemed to be someone that, despite his impressive amount of skill and power, shows a human that treats this more than a game for fun, but more like a game in which you have to survive. I am not shaming you if you aren't having fun, Playmaker, I am just interested in what you have to say so allow me to ask this again: Are you having fun?"

That one question.

That one question changed everything about what they thought of someone like Playmaker.

He was in a duel against the strongest duelist in history and he is not even having fun. He didn't even seem like he cared about the duel and only for his friend.

"Can I… say something first before answering the question?" asked Playmaker as for the first time in the duel, he showed genuine worry in his tone and body, "I want to explain myself before I answer it."

Yami nodded, "Sure, you can. Go ahead."

Playmaker breathed in and out, "To tell you the truth, over the course of my entire life, dueling has been a part of me, an important part of my life, for good and bad reasons." Playmaker stopped as he clenched his fist into a ball, "There have been moments where I am glad that I have discovered dueling as that I wouldn't have created many of my bonds, and yet, dueling has also been at my lowest moment."

Ai turned to his Origin as he knew what he was about to say, as well as everyone else that knew Yusaku.

"The lowest moment of my life changed my perception of dueling and life forever. No matter how much I try to move past it, no matter how much I try to focus on other parts of my life, no matter how much I try… it will always haunt me until I can no longer move," said Playmaker as he then remembered that time of his life, something that noone should ever experience, "I am talking about the Lost Incident when I was 6."

He could hear murmurs around him talking and thinking about what was the Lost Incident and yet, they were white noise for him, "In that time of my life, all I could do was duel and that was the only thing I could do. For 6 months, I couldn't leave the building as I was trapped in a room with just my duel disk, with no one around, with no one to talk to, with no one to be around. During those 6 months, I had to duel. If I so lose a duel, I was electrocuted and slammed into a wall, crushing my bones, however if I win a duel, I would get rewarded and finally get something to eat."

Everyone looked at him in horror as he said that as that was something out of a horror movie. Something that was indescribable by anyone as only a monster could think of doing that to a child.

Theodore looked at his friend, knowing well what was it like to be in the Lost Incident, Kolter gritted his teeth as he thought back to how it affected his younger brother, Jin, Skye couldn't face anyone as she remembered how it took Miyu away from her, her only friend when she was a child and Ryoken… he was silent, knowing well how much his father ruined their lives for the sake of creating the Ignis.

"That was my routine for the past 6 months. Sleep, Duel, Eat. Sleep, Duel, Eat. Sleep, Duel, Eat. There have been times where I just wanted to give up on everything, the pain of everything got to me as I continuously get nightmares of never leaving the Lost Incident and being stuck there for the rest of my life. As then…" Playmaker had a small smile on his face, "there was a voice that helped me as he gave me 3 reasons. 3 Simple Reasons why I should not give up, which helped me get through the Lost Incident for a couple of days until I finally got out by the same person that helped me."

If there was one thing that Playmaker was thankful for Ryoken before reconciling was that he managed to help out the Lost Incident children, even if they were scarred for the rest of their lives.

"Once I left the Lost Incident, I was brought into an orphanage as I have no memories of my parents, not a single one. They tried to help me, they tried to make me happy again, to bring a smile on my face. Nothing worked, the scars of the Lost Incident never left my body," said Playmaker as he then breathed in and out, "During a couple of years of my life, I only used dueling to get through. Completing Missions, taking out rouge duelists, anything to get a semblance of money and freedom before I met someone."

"That was before I decided to take revenge on the Knights Of Hanoi, the ones that I thought were responsible for the Lost Incident. Though during my revenge quest, I met with Ai, who helped me trust people, people I didn't even consider a friend before, and with his help, I managed to defeat the Knights Of Hanoi." said Playmaker as he then stared on the ground.

"Though… my love for dueling never changed after that, how can it? As much as I wanted to relearn to love the game that helped me out during my entire life, I couldn't find it in me to do so as I never had the opportunity to have a duel with no stakes. I never had a duel with no stakes in my life, all of the duels that I had were life or death, which caused me to harden my deck and skill." began Playmaker as he then closed his hand into a ball.

"Dueling has brought new bonds, new friends and a new way of living life, though, it also brought me more pain than ever before." Playmaker breathed in and out, "I have a question… have anyone of you lost someone due to this game? I have lost people I have never wanted to lose. Friends, family and more, I have lost them time and time again until they have been brought back. Some of them died 3 times before they were brought back."

"It gets worse when I think back to the Ignis, who either wanted to live or to be in coexistence with humans, and yet they all died. They were all gone, including Ai for a moment." Playmaker gritted his teeth, "Even when I thought he betrayed all of us, he did that so that I could live at the end. If he didn't do that and I hadn't dueled him… I would've have died trying to save him."

The entire audience was silent as they couldn't believe their ears.

That included the ones that knew him were shocked to hear that. Yusaku… would have died?! They… didn't know. They didn't know how to feel. No one knew how to feel.

"I had nightmares about that, and even nightmares of my friends and comrades dying. Where I woke up on a barren waste land with no life on it, and then I saw them… The corpses of the people I treasured in my life, all because I couldn't have saved them during an important duel," Playmaker then gripped his hand into a ball as those were even harder to experience than the ones in the Lost Incident. At least those were in the past and he proved to live outside of it, those were real and to his horror… it might even happen.

"I can't enjoy dueling. Not after the betrayal of a friend that only did that so that I could survive, deaths of several of my friends and comrades, being hunted down by a corporation that I saved from everything, a war between two races and The Lost Incident." Playmaker then looked at Yami in the eyes, who continued to stare at him, "To answer your question: No, I am not having fun and I… don't know if I would have fun during a duel."

Everyone's opinion on Playmaker changed and they could look at him in worry.

He was not a teenager that wanted to duel to have fun with his friends.

He was not a boy that wanted to make everyone smile in a duel.

He was not a teenager that wanted to make bonds with dueling and reconcile with old friends.

He was not someone that duels because he wants to have fun.

He was a soldier that looks at dueling as more of a way to get around and to save people. Through and through.

"I see…" Yami then closed his eyes and reopened them, "I want to tell you something. It is alright if you feel like this, dueling, after what you experienced, can be seen as a way to only do the things to save someone or yourself and that is okay. There have been moments that dueling was just like that, to save the world as a couple of duelists agreed with that statement. But even with that, I want to help you find the love of dueling right here and now."

"You said that dueling brought you together with someone, right? Well, I want to prove that with you in this duel. In this duel, all you have to think about is having fun, okay? If you win, that is great, and if you lose, that is fine as long as you learn from it. To overcome your fear of losing because in this duel, I want to help you find that love of dueling, I want to help you put a smile on your face, I want to show you that you can have fun in a duel. In this duel there are no stakes, there is only one thing to have, fun. What do you say?" asked Yami as then, one by one, people cheered on not just for him, but for Playmaker as well.

"Yeah, you got this!"

"You can do it!"

"This duel will be amazing!"

"Do your best you guys!"

"Make the duel the best we have ever seen!"

"No matter what, this will be one to remember!"

"Have the best duel that you can do!"

"All of you push back your limits!"

Yami looked around with a smile on his face as he turned to Playmaker, "So what do you say, Playmaker? Do you want to continue dueling, but this time, with having fun? Because having fun is a two way street."

"A duel… for fun…" Playmaker looked at his hand and then at Ai as they nodded to each other, "Why not. And I have three reasons why I won't back down!" yelled Playmaker as he shoved his hand forward as he raised his index finger, "1. I have merely scratched the surface of the potential of my deck."

Then, his middle finger was raised, "2. I have added new additions to my deck so that I could bring new strategies in my playing style!" Playmaker then raised his ring finger, "3! For now, I will stop pulling my punches and I will go full out in this duel! Right here and now!" yelled Playmaker as Yami then placed his fingers on his deck. "Because this duel…."

"... HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN!" yelled Yami as he drew the top card of his deck with a smile on his face.

The start of the duel has finally concluded.

And the real duel has just begun.

DONE! Okay, so this was actually pretty fun to write and I am sorry for the semi long wait. I am currently on vacation and I decided to write this up instead of finishing my Black Clover Chapter with no internet… lol. I have written almost 17k words and I want to say, how did you like it?

In this chapter I wanted to focus on just a couple of things: 1 was the usage of the Code Talkers as only 2 Code Talkers have been summoned yet in this duel, the second was most of Yami/Yugi's monsters as I made him summon Black Luster Soldier, Buster Blader, Gaia and Curse Of Dragon. The second one will focus Magnet Warrior, Celtic Guardians and finally, Dark Magicians as Playmaker will use most of his deck.

Turn 7 was the hardest to write since my original vision… didn't work! All because of Buster Dragon's at first simple Dragon Changing effect, so I decided to rework it the best that I could with Yami adding Ankuriboh and Playmaker adding Link Burst and One-Kuri-Way in his deck since Cyberse Annihilation would only work on Cyberse Monsters. Turn 8 was hard as well, but not as much as Turn 7.

I wanted to work out Playmaker/Yusaku finally having fun in a duel and I know Yuya could work with this or Jaden, but I wanted to do something new and give him the toughest challenge yet which is Yami/Yugi. When will part 2 and probably the end of the duel come out? Fuck if I know, I have no idea as well. That has around 10 turns as well, but fuck is that one huge. Turn 13 and 17 will be fucking ridiculous, I am being dead serious.

I have caught up to Demon Slayer, started Bungo Stray Dogs (I love Kunikida and Dazai lol, no spoilers please) and I am on episode 2, I am around Chapter 35 on Dragon Ball when Namu defeated Rau Faun, reading Black Clover and I am where the Royal Knight Exam has begun and I am on JJK where the Strongest Of Today and Strongest In History has finally begun.
