Avenging Angel
Chapter 26
Lucy heard the door slam. She got up as quickly as she could. It wasn't very fast and it was quite clumsy. She finally managed to get to a kneeling position. She had to get to Angela. She slowly stood up trying to keep her footing steady. She started painfully slowly to the table.
"Ang!"
Angela didn't respond, instead she slowly scooted herself off the table and into the floor. She didn't have enough strength to make it to Lucy. She instead scooted toward the wall. Lucy made her way over to the wall and slowly slid her back down to sit next to her. She didn't want to touch her. She wanted her to be as comfortable as possible. When she realized that Angela wasn't going to talk, she just put her hand down letting her know she could take it if she needed. She remained silent.
Lucy didn't know how she could make her any more comfortable so she decided to let her sit in silence. If Angela needed anything she could ask her. She sat there quietly for a few minutes. She had started to stare into space thinking of Tim. She felt a small touch on her hand and then her hand was fully enveloped. Lucy pulled her knees up to her chest feeling exposed. She had been so enraged earlier that she had forgotten she was only in underwear. She sat quietly a moment more when she noticed Angela moving. She slowly laid her head on Lucy's knee. Lucy felt slightly uncomfortable having her skin exposed but she didn't care that Angela was touching her. She didn't think she would after that ordeal. She had barely spoken. Only to Elijah to try to keep him away from her. She slowly took her hand and moved it to Angela's head. Lucy touched her lightly making sure she was ok with the interaction and when she didn't disprove she slowly started playing with her hair and lightly rubbing her head. Neither made a move to speak.
"Ang."
The woman had started to fall asleep and she groaned slightly.
"I'm not going to ask if you are ok. I will say that if you need to talk I am here."
"I'm fine."
"You've never lied to me before. Please don't start now. You don't have to be fine. Just know that I will be here for you through this."
"You do know that you've experienced a trauma too. Right?" she said trying to be her normal snarky self.
Lucy just lightly laughed and continued rubbing her hair so that she might get some rest.
