The Umbran House

ESKK: A new chapter, so let's get this party started.

(Start Lucina)

The day started at 10:00 for Lucina who tended to sleep in if given the chance. She had spent part of her day sitting on the couch, but like Luz said before, she got bored. She enjoyed Eda's company, and that little demon who got mad when she called him cubone instead of King, but she just couldn't stay there, as much as it didn't look like it, she highly suspected she was also born somehow... different, not exactly like Luz who embodies the brain of a hyperactive squirrel and sometimes has symptoms way more noticeable than hers, but she just can't sit and do nothing, Lucia didn't wanted to stay in her phone all day either, she also tends to be impulsive, and because of the downsides it brought, she forced herself to change a lot of her behavior, at least in front of Luz, to give her some example, but eventually she'd end up finding new games for them to play or teach her how to fight with a knife before their mom scolded her for it.

And even if she were the most chill person on earth, anyone would feel restless in that world full of magical beings, so if she just sat on the couch, she'd start thinking about Luz and how much she wanted to protect her and follow her around like a puppy, a very intimidating puppy. Instead, Lucia decided to go for a walk and explore, being stuck in the boiling isles is already something, might as well get to know the place in order to not get lost every time she went outside. She notified Eda and King, took her gear just in case, and left the house, giving hooty a soft pat on the head.

Normally she'd be tagging a wall with her art (Graffiti) but today she was feeling adventurous. The Boiling Isles had been something of a crazy time what with her facing Angels every so often. Apparently when you do a prayer in a church as a witch that tended to piss them off enough to come down to the slaughter pit. But of course, she wanted to visit Rodin again see if he had anything she could do for the day. He liked to be paid in Halos the things Angels have and drop when they die. Pay him enough Halos and he'll be your best friend as long as you keep up the payments. Though adding to Eda's tab when Lucina fell short may have gotten Eda upset assuming she finds out about it.

Eda was the biggest con artist in all the Boiling Isles and still she could not con Rodin and the guy makes sure she remembers that. Lucina decided to start her day by passing through the market, it was one of the very first places she saw in the boiling isles, but she was trying to not freak out back then and didn't pay attention to her surroundings. Now that she has had time to calm herself the place had become a regular wandering spot for her. She looked at the environment, noticing it was just as weird as she remembers, people were trying to sell her stuff, like strange food with eyes and whatever else were those weird artifacts, but she didn't have any money, or as they say, snails, so she'd just refuse and pass by, just looking at the merchandise.

She eventually had enough and left the market, going through what seemed to be a square, nothing interesting there, just kids playing, some of them very strange looking, but they were still people, and hearing their giggles brought a little smile to Lucia's face, it reminds her of Luz when she was just a small child. Finishing her little tour by that area, Lucina decided to head over to the Gates of Hell see what Rodin had to give.

Entering the Bar Lucina heard the soft jazz music playing from Rodin's old fashion record player. The man who owned the bar was at the bar table cleaning some glasses as it was another slow day for him. "Hey there, Lucina you here for business or pleasure?" Rodin asked as he put the glass down to address the girl.

"Meh depends. Any of those flockers up north giving us trouble?" Lucina said taking a seat before being served her favorite coffee.

"Things have been quiet." Rodin said as he watched Lucina drink from her coffee. "As it stands it's just the waiting game for one of the Trinity to make a move around these parts." Rodin said with his ever-present tone of voice.

"Maybe I can rile up Paradiso again, I'm really good at that." Lucina said with a smirk on her face.

"Maybe, but now would not be the time." Rodin said as he put down another glass.

"Oh, and why is that exactly, Rodin?" Lucina asked and thus Rodin looked to the girl.

"It's about to rain." He said and thus Lucina laughed to this.

"What is big bad Rodin the destroyer afraid of a drizzle?" Lucina asked clearly not seeing the danger she was mocking.

"I'd stay inside unless of course you're in the mood for melted Witch." Rodin said as Lucina raised a brow to this.

"Yeah sure, and I'm going to turn green screaming, I'm melting what a world, like in Wizard of Oz." Lucina said scoffing at what Rodin was implying to her.

"Don't say I didn't warn you." Rodin said and thus Lucina smirked and headed off.

"I'll see you later." Lucina said as she began to walk off.

"She'll be back." Rodin said knowing his place was closer in comparison to Eda's house.

(Later with Lucina)

"Rain yeah what a quack." Lucina said while walking through the street and with it thunder went off over her. "I'm sure you, flowers will love a bit of water huh." Lucina said to a few potted plants but then they were hit by droplets of rain and wilted instantly with a sizzle. "The fuck!?" Lucina asked when she saw this.

Soon more came in and thus everyone began to panic. "Boiling Rain!" A random demon cried out as she ran for it.

"The fuck?!" Lucina cried out as she began to panic looking for a place to get covered. "Ow! OW!" She cried out when the rain started hitting her. "Fuck!" Lucina cried out as she ran back to Rodin's bar for safety.

(Back with Rodin)

Rodin had finished cleaning up another glass which he then placed with the others. "Three, two, and one." Rodin counted down and in turn Lucina came in with a few patches of burnt spots before slamming the door behind her.

Lucina had a panicked looked on her face as she stood there facing the weapons smith. "Shut up." Lucina said before Rodin could even say anything as she then moved to a booth and sat there. "Fuck my life." Lucina grumbled before plopping her butt down and just waiting out the rain. Of course, as she sat there Lucina was completely unaware of what was going on at the Owl House.

(Later)

Lucina was laying her head on the table as she had a plate of eaten food next to her as she was drawing a circle on said table with her hand. She was bored out of her mind, the rain kept belting the outside while she was trapped indoors to avoid being turned into Lucina soup.

"Bored so bored." Lucina said as she sat there with her phone out after sending a text to Luz that she had bunkered down at the Gates of Hell.

"Why not just do something?" Rodin asked with a raised brow to the Umbran Witch.

"Sure, how about you bring something out I don't have to pay for." Lucina said as she then took out her phone and began scrolling through her text messages. The text she sent her mom at the first day saying she and Luz were at Summer Camp, then the texts from her friends about some of the stunts they pulled and the things she was missing out on. "Damn." Lucina cursed as she then leaned back on the chair.

Just then the shop bell was heard as a new voice heard from it. "Hello Rodin!" A voice called out and thus Lucina looked to the source and saw a young man in her aged group with a fedora and what looked to be a traveling coat. He had a pair of boots on that had baggy pants stuffed into, a white shirt under a brown vest, and a bag with his belonging and another bag filled with books. "I return with new finds I hope you may enjoy!" The young man called as Rodin looked to the strange young man.

"If your here to pawn off more crap you better turn around." Rodin said as he looked to the young man.

"Oh, I'm hurt that you have so little faith in me." The young man said as Rodin rolled his eyes.

"Just put them down on the bar I'll sort through them and give you your cut for them later." Rodin said and the teen took off his fedora and held it to his chest while bowing.

"Your patronage for my discoveries, are always welcomed." He said before standing back up and heading to take a seat when he stopped by Lucina and looked to her. "I dare say I've never seen someone like you before." He said approaching Lucina giving her a deep look.

"Uh hi." He said as he then stepped back.

"Tell me are you by chance a human?" He asked and thus Lucina raised a brow.

"Yeah, what's it too you?" Lucina asked and thus the man smiled.

"Amazing!" He called out and thus gave Lucina a look. "I've heard stories, but never did I expect to see an actual human." He said but then paused. "But you are no normal human are you." He said and thus Lucina saw he was looking at her shadow.

"No, I'm a Witch an Umbra Witch." Lucina boasted even if she was a self-taught witch.

"An Umbra Witch what's the difference between you and a normal witch I dare ask?" The young man asked curious while writing down what Lucina was saying.

"Well, the Witches around here naturally have their power... I got my power by making a contract with a demon from hell." Lucina said explaining how it works.

"A new venue of research." He began but then stopped to speak with Lucina. "Oh, pardon my rudeness I lose myself when I find knew this to discover." He said and then bowed to Lucina with his fedora over his chest. "My name is Baron, milady. Adventurers, explorer, as of recent times a Wild Witch." The young man, now known as Baron, said introducing himself to the Umbra Witch. "And Might I inquire your name milady?" Baron asked and thus Lucina looked to him.

"Lucina... Lucina Noceda." Lucina introduced as she gave the young man a strange look.

"Marvelous." He said and in turn reached into his pack and pulled something out. "For giving to me a new venue of study, I shall return the favor by imparting knowledge to you." He said and thus he took out quill and began to draw something onto the parchment he took out.

"I had discovered this a great deal of time ago and have been studying it ever since." He said drawing a Glyph onto the paper. "Behold." He said and thus tapped his hand on it causing the parchment to crumble before becoming a ball of light that hovered up to the air.

"Wow." Lucina said as Baron smiled to her.

"This is Glyph Magic Lucina Noceda." Baron said as the light bubble floated up before it eventually popped like a bubble. "Been discovering Glyphs like this all over the Isles hidden in places hard to see." Baron said and thus Lucina took out her phone.

"Do it again." Lucina said and in turn Baron did as he was asked. Lucina recorded it and thus they went like that. "Where can I find these Glyphs?" Lucina asked and in turn Baron chuckled.

"Alas I only found the one." Baron said as Lucina heard this and glared for a moment. "My humblest of apologies." He said tipping his fedora to her.

"It's fine." Lucina said and thus Baron looked outside.

"Well, it seems the Boiling Rain will be at an end soon." Baron said as he looked outside the door. "I best be off I have an appointment to meet." He said and in turn took his leave grabbing his cut from Rodin on his way, out leaving Lucina standing there. Baron then stopped and once more bowed to with his hat to his chest before finally leaving the Gates of Hell.

Lucina stood there for a bit before Rodin showed up next to her. "He's single if you're interested." Rodin said and thus Lucina perked up.

"Really?" Lucina asked sounding oddly excited before clearing her throat. "I mean so what?" Lucina said trying to keep her bad girl punk persona at the forefront hands in her pockets and a side glare.

"Smooth." Obscura said in a sarcastic tone via their contract link. "By the way Boiling Rain stopped." Obsucra said and thus her Lucina's eyes widen.

"Now if you'll excuse me." Lucina began and then she bolted out of there. "FREEDOM!" Lucina yelled while she ran back to the Owl House to show what she discovered.

"I always get stuck with the kids." Rodin said and in turn the phone rang. Walking over he picked it up and answered. "Gates of Hell." He began but then heard a familiar voice on the other side.

"Hello Rodin heard there was a new Umbran Witch or two running around and you didn't bother to tell any of us." The voice spoke and in turn Rodin smirked to this.

"Bayonetta." He began talking to the friend he was most familiar with. "Beautiful." Rodin added and thus knew that he was going to be getting a visit from Bayonetta soon.

(Meanwhile with Baron)

Baron was making his way through Bonesborough seemingly unaware that he had people following him. Taking seemingly random turns left and right the group following him eventually found him in an alleyway. "Well seems the Emperors Coven doesn't know when to stop." Baron said as the supposed explorer turned to face the arrivals. He kept his smile up and his eyes closed while speaking to the group.

"Baron the Wild Witch you are ordered to surrender yourself and join a Coven." The Man in a silver bird mask said causing Baron to chuckle.

"Sorry I don't abide by the rules of a false prophet." Baron said showing he and the Emperors Coven had done this song and dance several times. "Now before we carry on... would any of you like to leave." He said glaring at the Emperors Scouts who stood across from him.

When none of them attempt to leave Baron sighed. "No... then it's your funeral." Baron said as he opened his eyes to reveal them to be glowing. "I'll be sure to remind you." He began as his body began to give off aura as his form began to change. "Why you don't fuck with a Titan." He said his voice deep and bellowing now and the next thing the Scouts knew they were faced by a bestial form that towered over them. It spread out its bat like wings and thus roared at them which caused the Scouts to run away in terror.

(Scene Break the Owl House)

Just then Lucina came into the Owl House kicking Hooty down as she did so. "Luz oh my god you will not believe what." Lucina began but was cut off by the floating balls of lights one of being made by Luz. She looked at the Owl House and saw the damages before looking to the glaring Hooty. "You too?" Lucina asked as she had a lot to catch up on.

"In several ways." Luz said as she had gone through the ringer and had wished her big sister were there.

"Bien hermanita." Lucina said and grabbed a broom. "Let's trade notes and see what we learned." Lucina said and thus Luz nodded. But she also knew she was going to get a bonk on the head curtesy of Lucina when she finds out about Eda's curse and Luz setting it off with King today.

(Meanwhile in the unknown space)

"It's happened." One of the entities spoke sounding upset now. "I warned you all and what had happened Arch Eve has met Arch Adam." It spoke but his warnings ignored.

"You worry over a possibly threat the Titans were a clear threat." The being spoke as they looked upon their cohort.

"Logically yes but Arch Adam and Arch Eve pose an even greater threat with this incarnation of the pair." The one spoke seeing it as illogical to allow a threat like them to roam.

"They know not of our existence, and we best keep it that way." The being spoke and the logical one glared at all his cohorts.

"Illogical so long as the boy roams that world them learning of us is all but inevitable." The entity said seeing it as illogical to allow Arch Adam and Arch Eve to continue to roam.

"Until they pose a threat, we leave them be." The third spoke and thus the one who championed logic glared.

"And what of Arch Adam, he's a Titan what's to stop him from uniting with Arch Eve and seek vengeance against us." The logical one spoke and in turn the group was silent. It seemed that his logical thinking was finally going to be respected.

But it seems his cohorts begged to differ. "A pair of Titans are hardly a threat to us." The entity spoke making the logical one go wide eyed with rage. "We shall let it be. Stop thinking on logic it makes you paranoid." It said and thus the Logical one growled very rarely if ever growls.

"Logic is the only thing that matters when arriving to the best decision letting emotions cloud our minds will only make us act illogically." The being said and in turn flashed away before his cohort's scoff to the being.

"There he goes throwing a tantrum." They said unaware of how this may very well bite them down the line.

ESKK: Yes, this chapter was short, and I apologize for that, but it was mainly original, and I wanted to make it as long as possible. But there was not much I can do beyond this so sorry for that.
