The amphibian's golden eyes widened with awe and horror as he sees before him LingQi completely transformed…before he completely screamed in pain, as if the attack was so fast the pain wasn't able to be felt until just now. His breathing skyrocketed as he could not take his eyes off this…human. This can't just be a human thing, can it? It's not a mystic thing, they don't normally transform into these creatures…do they? Yet...here was LingQi. Once she was on deaths door and he was going to give her the final push to go through. Now though…this just happened on his watch. He felt himself getting enraged, how dare this human upstart believe she's worth anything let alone worthy to disarm him! He and his sibling's thirst for vengeance cannot be stopped by just a mere mortal! Yet when he saw LingQi casually skitter along towards him he hesitated. For the first time since the day of sealing he experienced fear.
He hated himself for this feeling and jumped up. He will not be a slave to his own fear, not again!
'You think just because you got lucky that you can best me in battle!? Please! Don't you dare underestimate me!' He croaked as he swings his shield towards her horizontally. LingQi cared not and carried on walking as if he was not there. The shield was grabbed by one of LingQi's shorter insect arm and she casually glanced at the shield and then towards the amphibian who held the look of being frightened.
'Pathetic.' She stated simply as she grabbed the shield after she passed the halberd to the other insect arm and picked it up along with the frog and slammed him behind her, landing him on his back. Those in the vicinities were in awe of her strength.
'Well, don't see that every day.' Pang Tong chuckled as he saw the frog being picked up.
'Wh…what?'
'Ha-ha, what's the matter frog? Demon got your tongue?' Dodomeki weakly laughed as he saw his opponents horrified and surprised expression as they looked upon LingQi's new transformation. He tightened his weapons so hard veins were showing on his arm. LingQi hopped on top of the flattened frog who coughed up blood as soon as he made impact with the ground belly up. He opened his eyes weakly to see the demonic LingQi holding her glaives to its throat. His eyes widen, unsure what to make of the situation. A simple human even with demonic powers should not have overpowered it so easily.
'Any last words?' She questioned a low, snarling voice. Clicking her tongue while looking away for a brief moment before she reverted her gaze back upon her. As he was about to respond she sliced its throat using her glaives in both directions. The amphibian reflexively used its arms to try and stop the river of blood spilling. However, one arm was disarmed and the other with the shield was stopped by LingQi using her free insectoid hands stopped the shield, leaving the amphibian feeling even more helpless as they feel their body and senses slip away as they could only look upon LingQi's visage and the sky above with the stars… and the feeling of regret of his failure to their goddess. Their limbs quickly fall to the ground next to them, limp. The other frogs stand in awe and horror as she leaps off the frog and slowly skitters across the battlefield to reach the amphibian hovering over Dodomeki. LingQi lumbered towards them with a neutral look on her face. The vacant gaze stared at the eyes of her opponent. Fearful and yet hateful.
This amphibian hesitated to strike, seeing how easy it was for her to destroy his comrade, realising they haven't gotten their glaive they hopped to their glaive, they claimed it and wielded with both hands, seeing LingQi skitter towards them. Gripping their polearm tightly as they croaked, the cheeks bulging out before returning to their normal proportions. They hopped up in the air as they yelled loudly towards LingQi. As they approached her position, they slammed their glaive on top of them. Hoping to cleave them in two equal sides, that'll show the upstart human. They roared as the glaive made contact with the ground and a dust cloud enveloped both they and their opponent. As the dust settled the amphibian chuckled however, they quickly opened their eyes in horror as they see LingQi next to the curved metallic blade that caused a clean vertical slice into the gravel. They stopped there for just a moment almost petrified as they feel their heartbeat skyrocket as their gaze pierced their soul as LingQi looked up. Frightened, they panicked as they leapt back and released their long tongue at the same time aiming for her face. This didn't give much time for LingQi to react, and they thought it would work.
LingQi merely sidestepped the lashing tongue and before it had a chance to recoil since it was last second, she planted one of her glaives on their tongue. Piercing it all the way and pinning it to the ground. The tongue could only stretch as far as it could before the amphibian crashed to the ground forming a large crater around it. They croaked in agony as bright green blood started to form underneath the pinned tongue. They suddenly feel their body being pulled through the gravel. The brickwork being scraped and as they yelled in shock while trying to plant their legs onto the ground to stop the pull, however it only slowed it down slightly rather than doing anything meaningful. They could only watch as LingQi came into view using two of her hands to pull them towards her. They couldn't believe her raw strength pulling someone of their stature…a human of all things! …No…she's not human…not anymore. She changed, they weren't prepared for this, not at all. LingQi pulled with all her might to pull the amphibian closer to her until finally she stopped. Before the amphibian was able to leap away LingQi grabbed the top part of the mouth and held it high, firmly gripping it so that the slimy frog could not escape her grasp despite its futile resistance.
'ait….wait ha ercy' the amphibian barely could gurgle out a plea for mercy as it looked into the abyss that were LingQi's eyes. They only held malice and scathing hatred as she planted the other halberd under the top of the mouth that was pulled forward.
'Sorry, all out of mercy' She stated before pulling the top part of the mouth down diagonally. The halberd penetrated the flesh easily and the mouth went through it, the blade pointing to the sky showing a very pink mushy substance at the end of it as. Bright green blood dripped down the halberd from the blade down to the polearm. The other amphibian who caught wind of this far away decided that this was not a fight to be won.
'Oh fuck this, someone must inform the lady.' They stated as they leapt up and tried to hop away, however at the apex of their leap they found themselves having a surge of pain coming from inside their chest which forced them to crash to the ground earlier. They landed on their side as they tried to go on their legs and continue their retreat, although they found the pain to be too great as each movement caused more of the suffering.
'Wh…what is this?' He asked himself before he heard a familiar chuckle behind him with two pairs of footsteps along with metal scraping against the gravel.
'Hehe, did you really think we were going to let you go after all the trouble you caused us?' Pang Tong chuckled as he appeared in front of him. The panic in the amphibian's eyes widened.
'What, did you do to me!?' It spluttered while coughing up bright green blood.
'I did nothing, this was all your doing. You were getting full of hot air, I just simply had to make sure you didn't float off. So I expanded the air in your lungs till your air sacs burst, not to worry I didn't do enough to kill you.' Pang Tong explained.
'How!? You're supposed to all…be humans! But you're not…you're monsters all of you. You're not even supposed to know that level of biology.'
'Ahh, well let's just say I.' Pang Tong crouched down and looked into the amphibian's fearful eyes which widened with terror as Pang Tong revealed the bright pink eye on the right side, recognising the joyful sadism present in them.
'WE have a unique outlook on things thanks to our…bond you could say.' He responded before he found two black orbs make their way to the scroll hidden in Pang Tongs green robes. He looked down to see them phase through the robes to the scroll as he looked up. He chuckled as to the reason.
'Looks like lady LingQi will have to keep Luna pre-occupied while we deal with the rest of our ambushers.' Pang Tong mused to himself as he he took a look at the crocodile like demon who nodded in understanding as they quickly sprinted to the opposite side of the city. Pang Tong turned his gaze towards the cowering amphibian and wore a lopsided grin.
'Now then.' He started, as part of his voice grew more feminine yet demonic.
'Why don't we have a conversation about you and your friends, try to resist…we dare you!'
As Zheng Jiang traversed what seemed to be an endless flight of stairs, she finally sees the end of them as she finds herself outside at the highest point of the palace. The sounds of death and warfare barely registers in the bandit queen's ears as a calm breeze hits her face as she looked up at the night sky. On the very edge of the horizon a very faint warm orange begins to appear. Dawn is coming. As she was distracted, she had barely enough time to dodge the oncoming attack aiming for her head. The sharp blade cut through the wooden railing. As Zheng Jiang stepped back, she saw Zhang Yan with an unsheathed sword in hand, looking furious at her as he gritted his teeth.
'You, look at what you've done! Years of preparation wasted because of you and your so-called ally! You know how long it's going to take to fix all this!? My empire was going to be glorious! Before you both came in here and ruined my hard work!'
'Your empire!? You really thought you of all people had what it takes to bring everything under your control!? Ha! Don't make me laugh. Your empire was doomed to fall from the start.' Zheng Jiang retorted gripping her red sister axes tightly.
'Tch, what I don't understand is why? Why did you suddenly start the transgressions. After your initial attack there was nothing from you, you hid in your castle in the mountains. You could've stayed there and kept your people safe, yet suddenly here you are now, besieged my palace and made a mess out of everything. Why now?' Zhang Yan questioned. It was a question that he wanted to know desperately. What was the tipping point for her to go through with all this? What made her come out of hiding after what seemed like years as he grew to control the mountains…why? Zheng Jiang glanced at the ground briefly first, unsure of what to say. As she looked up she wore a respectful smile on her face.
'Well as it turns out my ally had helped me realise that I was…paralysed by fear. Fear of losing anyone else despite my burning hatred for you…though I didn't learn that until after, Mitsuko helped me get back on the right path. So here I am, unafraid and I will claim my vengeance. Your so-called empire is over Zhang Yan, these mountains will belong to me once I claim your head!' Zhang Yan couldn't help but laugh at this which infuriated Zheng Jiang.
'Heh, that's it? You were afraid of me? You were right to be afraid, I'll just have to remind you of why. Too bad I can't remember who it was we killed to want your vengeance in the first place, bet it was just a common street walker you picked up right after she gave you a sob story, or was it a family member…or was it both? Either way it sounds like if they were with you, they deserved their deaths, I only hope it was painful for them.' Hearing slander about her sworn sisters made Zheng Jiang go into a rage as she roared as she lunged in overhead striking Zhang Yan. Zhang Yan opened his eyes in shock, he didn't expect her to close the distance so quickly. He deflected the blow with his blade as he staggered backwards. Only for Zheng Jiang to rush and attack again.
Meanwhile in the main palace mystic steel clashed against each other as the large amphibian and Jinhza fought in the air as both landed. With the size advantage the amphibian presses the offensive vs the beleaguered Jinhza. However, he has not come this far by being weak. He dodged and sidestepped the attacks. Each attack by the amphibian aggressor caused destruction with various craters and walls being caused and destroyed all around the main palace hall. deadlocked with their weapons before quickly separating. The amphibian towering over the skilled mystic went on the offensive using wild swings to catch the smaller, nimble Jinhza. The amphibian unleashed a flurry of blows in a prodding motion with his trident. During one of the many offensive blows Jinhza was able to deflect one with his blade to the outside of the outer prongs of the trident. Jinhza quickly rushed forwards and attempted to strike the left leg of his opponent. The amphibian quickly jumped up before the blade made contact and gurgled for a second before spitting out a projectile vomit attack which Jinhza barely dodged out the way in time as he hopped on his left foot towards the right. The attack splashed slightly, and a bit landed on some of his clothes, he witnessed the piece of cloth quickly disintegrate on contact before he landed on his feet away. The large frog laughed heartily as he landed, trident in hand.
'How do you like that? Another gift from the moon goddess, one of many that was given to us.'
'Heh, you just prove our action was right. You do not deserve to have such power, look at how you're wielding it, for vengeance not for the betterment of others.'
'Like you're one to talk about bettering others, mystic scum!' He yelled as he threw his trident at the mystic with such speed Jinhza was not able to doge it in time. He found himself a second later pinned against the wall in between two prongs though his right arm is hanging over the centre prong with his blade still firmly held in his hand. He grimaced as he finds himself still exhausted, he's pushed his body to the limit with Orochi and now this frog is pushing him even further. The only things that are keeping him alive at this moment in time are, the desire to live and the rewards should he win. The mystic realm will be his and order will finally be restored! He will see the repair of the barrier for the so-called moon goddess and her followers. Finally, peace will reign in the realm. He saw the frog rear its head back before spitting out another acidic projectile attack. Jinhza wriggled himself free from the trident and evaded the attack as he rolled out the way. The acidic projectile dissolving part of the rock and bricks that made up that part of the wall and floor quickly before stopping moments later. Various acidic burns and small bubble-like craters were formed as a result.
Jinhza as he stood back up sprinted towards the amphibian, trying to finish this quickly. His opponent vomited more of the acid however Jinhza was just too quick for him. As he got closer before he was able to edge out some sort of wound on the frog, he leapt up and onto one of the pillars with one arm holding the top as both his feet are on it before. He loosely hangs from the pillar before continuing his volleys of acidic projectiles. Jinhza evaded the attacks the best he could. He tried sprinting up the pillar as fast as he could however when he tried to get close, the frog swatted away the pesky Jinzha like a bug. Jinhza landed on his feet as the scraped against the floor, a surge of pain is felt going from his feet throughout the rest of his legs. He gritted his teeth unsure of what to do in this situation. The frog croaked before cackling.
'Haha! You cannot reach me. There is nothing you can do unless you wish to be disintegrated!'
'I haven't lost yet, don't get too arrogant over your abilities.' He called out as panted heavily, he admits. The situation isn't looking great. How the hell can he get up there while evading his attacks? If he was fully rested sure but, in this state, it's a different matter. The sweat stubbornly clings on to his dry skin as his body battles to get any amount of oxygen. If he leaves the frog could just grab Orochi and escape, who knows what chaos the moon goddess could unleash upon the realms…no... he couldn't allow that. Although what choice did he have? The serpent isn't entirely defenceless…wait where is she!? He frantically looked around before realising she's not here. Did she escape in the chaos? No…she wouldn't do that, but then where would she be?
'Ha! No one is coming to save you mystic scum! I have the high ground. You are-' He was interrupted as a black sphere of energy hurdled towards him at a high velocity, he barely had enough time to dodge out the way. As he leapt away the pillar was obliterated into rubble, the amphibian landed on the ground safely as he shook his head vigorously.
'What was that?' He asked before Mitsuko's silhouette was in view of both of them. Jinhza widened his eyes with awe and terror, he noticed as she walked, she continued to have that stature of elegance she had before along with her same conviction…despite having a missing head of one of her serpents! She walked slowly as she chuckled demonically as she extended her remaining serpent head out. He was terrified, he thought he would dealt severe damage to her, however here she is still able to fight…willingly and her demeanour had not changed in the slightest. Just how strong is this serpent!?
'Hehe, sorry about that I would've let you continue but I thought it was more important to get everyone on equal footing.' Mitsuko stated, the amphibian guffawed at her exclamation.
'Hahaha, equal footing. You have one arm, you should've ran away if you had any sort of sense serpent.'
'Ahh but I haven't dissected a frog in a long time, normally the dissections happen when they're dead. Though I do wonder as I carve my scythe deep in your body how much will you scream.' Mitsuko responded. That statement for once in the amphibian's life shook him to the core, the way she said it so cruelly and yet so…non-chalant about it. Especially when he looked in her eyes for the first time, the enjoyment that she exhibited in them made him shiver though he attempted to hide it.
'Heh, you can try but you will be delivered to my lady, she will use your power to good use.'
'I do not think so, anuran scum.' Jinhza spoke up.
'Looks like we reached an impasse. Well I'm sure we can discuss this like civilised adults-' Mitsuko was interrupted as the large frog vomited their acidic projectile at Mitsuko. Mitsuko quickly used her remaining serpent to match the projectile with her dark energy sphere. As the two collided a dust cloud burst from the collision. Jinhza used this opportunity to sprint towards Mitsuko with his double-bladed weapon. He slashed horizontally towards Mitsuko's neck, hoping to decapitate her in a single blow. She blocked the attack with ease as the remaining serpent vomited her scythe, the back of the neck blocked the attack. The crescent blade slathered full of fresh saliva pushed back the sword and Mitsuko ducked almost immediately, sensing the opposite blade coming from behind her. Jinhza gritted his teeth at frustration at the stubbornness of the serpent, why couldn't she just die and do everyone in existence a favour!? Suddenly the large amphibian swept with its long trident hovering slightly across the floor. Both Mitsuko and Jinhza jumped over the trident however Mitsuko was able to use her right foot and kicked Jinhza in the gut and launched him away from her. He crashed to the ground on his elbow and groaned in pain. Mitsuko turned her attention to the large frog to her left side as she twisted her body in the air and extended her right serpent arm and struck the frog just above the top of its mouth, it was unable to move fast enough to counter the blow. It left a single scar as droplets of bright green blood slowly dripped to the ground. The tip of the blade penetrated the floor before slithering back to Mitsuko's side as she hopped back after she landed on her feet.
'Ok I take it back, we're not civilised. You didn't have to interrupt me like that.' Mitsuko chuckled as the frog touched the scar and looked upon the hand to see the speck of blood and croaked in anger.
'Argh! You landed a strike…on an anuran with one arm!? You dare mock me serpent!? I will make you pay for your transgression as I deliver you to our goddess!' Mitsuko simply cocked her head at it.
'Oh that's what you're called, the Anura…I don't suppose you will share with me everything about you and your people will you?'
'Of course not!' The anuran retorted offended at the thought of such a thing. How dare this presumptuous demon ask such a question.
'Figures, oi god. You have anything to say about the Anura?' Mitsuko glanced towards Jinhza who was started to get up battered and bruised, Mitsuko was slightly impressed how much punishment he could take.
'Nothing that will aid you serpent scum, you will die anyway so what would be the point?' Jinhza spluttered as Mitsuko sighed.
'Oh well, can't blame me for trying. Well then.' Mitsuko got into a battle-ready stance and so did the anuran and Jinhza.
'Let's start the dissection!'
Elsewhere LingQi skittered across the battlefield and found Dodomeki kneeling on the floor, catching his breath and slowly recovering from his wounds with the anuran. She offered a hand to him. He looked up and accepted the hand as he was pulled up with a surprising amount of strength to get him back on his feet though he still felt the surge of pain go through his body with his heavy breath he took, he still couldn't believe he was looking at LingQi now.
'Are you ok?' She asked simply. Though something was off with her tone Dodomeki perceived, there wasn't much…empathy there.
'I…yeah I'm fine…what about you? What happened to you?' He questioned, curious about her new transformation. She examined her own hands and additional arms aswell and started touching her body in different places, almost as if she didn't realise of this new transformation.
'Ahh…so I have.' There was something different in her tone of voice here, it was less emotional, less…human. it was subtle but Dodomeki noticed the change in her tone. It was like though she was surprised she ultimately did not care.
'Any idea what happened?'
'I do not know, I remember feeling rage and then…I come to and I was like this. So it seems like I'm a demon now, is that right?' She asked bluntly. Dodomeki was stunned by this question.
'I…I really don't know what you are, a human never gone this far serving Orochi before…but since this is lady Mitsuko's cycle there is also many firsts thus far and I imagine there will be many more in the future.' Dodomeki stated, LingQi thought about this for a moment before hearing rapid footsteps getting closer, she turned around and got ready.
'What is it, what do you sense?'
'An enemy' LingQi stated before a familiar figure skidded into view onto the streets. Luna in her transformed state skidded onto the street with her mace in hand, drenched in bright green blood. She let out a monstrous sigh as small amount of cold smoke left her mouth as she opened it. Her serrated teeth still hiding most of her face.
'Grr, here I thought she would get out of her fledgeling rage by now. Looks like its not the case.'
'Leave.' LingQi ordered Dodomeki who looked at her with bewilderment in his singular golden eye.
'Leave? I can't leave you to fight her by yourself, it took both of us to deal with her temporarily.' Within a blink of an eye Luna screeched as she sprinted rapidly towards the two warriors with her bloodied mace raised high, still thirsty for more blood to drink. As she gotten in range Dodomeki tried to anticipate her attack however LingQi moved forward at the last second surprising Luna and slashed horizontally with one side of her glaive, knocking her off her feet and making her crash into a building which collapsed on her. She turned around to face Dodomeki, her face showing a lack of humanity. Her eyes showing a singular focus of destruction. Something about this unnerved Dodomeki, he wasn't sure why though.
'Our allies need you more than me. I can take care of her.' She stated simply, uncaring much for Dodomeki's involvement. He nodded as she faced the building Luna was temporarily trapped in, expecting her to leap out of the ruins. He hated being ordered around by a human of all things however he obliged, believing LingQi with her newfound strength should be able to deal with Luna…though it's strange of him to think so, he hopes that this change in her behaviour is a temporary one similar to fledgeling rage. He sprinted away before Luna broke out of the ruins and appeared in front of LingQi as debris from the ruins scatter around them. Luna stood in front of LingQi menacingly as she tilted her head towards her. She opened her mouth and groaned out a chuckle before it screeched loudly before sprinting once again towards LingQi. LingQi struck using both of her double-bladed glaives horizontally in opposite directions. Though Luna leapt up behind her and twisted her body and using the momentum to strike LingQi from behind.
LingQi turned around and blocked the attack with both of her glaives as the blades blocked the mace. LingQi's legs scraped the floor slightly before being planted. Luna despite her strength was unable to push on through her like she did before. LingQi broke the deadlock as she pushed Luna away and attacked in multiple directions using both of her glaives. However, Luna was able to block and evade the attacks. LingQi slashed at Luna from all directions however Luna was able to anticipate all the attacks, LingQi slashed downwards, Luna sidestepped to the left and swung her mace. LingQi deflected the attack as she hit the mace with her left glaive. The impact made the mace swing in front of her face instead of having it crash against her skull, the wind of the momentum breezed past her face. As the left elbow was in front of her face, LingQi quickly swung the glaive to her left as she extended her arm as fast as she could. Luna had little time to react as she staggered forward and saw the glint of the blade against the moonlight hit her eyes. She instinctively bent backwards to avoid the flat blade, aiming for her neck for a decapitation. She could see her reflection in the mirror aswell as heard the air as it zoomed past her face before she straightened her back immediately and then bent forwards to avoid a blow from behind. As she straightened her back rapidly a second time she used the momentum to swing her mace from the opposite side, still aiming for her face.
LingQi ducked under the mace and swung both her glaives as she moved past her, using the glaives to cleave her way through Luna. Luna after seeing LingQi duck and move past her, leapt up over the glaives, narrowly avoiding the blades. She rolled forward and finished on her feet again. LingQi swung her left glaive again, however Luna caught the blade with her left hand as she stepped back. As she was about to hit LingQi with her mace she didn't realise how strong LingQi was as the glaive kept swinging Luna realised she was lifted off her feet. LingQi used this to her advantage as she turned her body and slammed Luna to the ground. Immediately as Luna was slammed LingQi used her other glaive to crash down and impale her. Luna seeing the blade jumped up, the blade cutting through a few strands of her hair as the glaive penetrated the earth. As Luna jumped to her feet she twisted her body and crashed the mace against LingQi's skull. LingQi left arm was extended too far to her left side and her right glaive was used in the attempt to impale. The mace hit the left side of her face, blood escaped from her mouth as her head twisted with the momentum of the blunt weapon. LingQi staggered backwards and shook her head before wiping the blood trickling from her mouth before staring in the bloodthirsty eyes of Luna. She tilted her head to the side, as if in curiosity as it released another sigh, as if in…amusement in its own way. LingQi quickly regained her composure. She stared with a blank stare yet hidden beneath it lies a quiet rage waiting to explode.
In the main palace Mitsuko leaps and attacks with her scythe downwards towards the Anura. The amphibian blocks the attack with their trident and makes Mitsuko fly backwards due to the sheer strength of the anuran. However as Mitsuko backflips in the air she landed on her feet, as she bent her knees she quickly sprinted back towards the large amphibian. The anuran got into another stance, ready to anticipate the next strike. However, Jinhza zoomed towards her from her right side, double blade in hand ready to for a quick decapitation. Mitsuko noticed this briefly, thinking quickly she planted the scythe into the ground just after she would be past Jinhza. She used her momentum to make her body orbit rapidly around the crescent blade. Making Mitsuko kick Jinhza in the back as bent down while pulling herself forward for the momentum before Jinhza's blade cut through her. He was lifted in the air before being promptly knocked down on the ground as he rolled on the floor.
The anuran swept his trident at Mitsuko's waist, hovering over the ground behind her. Mitsuko blocked the attack however the strength overwhelmed her due to his size. However instead of flying like last time blocked the attack with her crescent blade and used her headless serpent arm to wrap around one of prongs. The anuran attempted to shake Mitsuko off as they saw her dangling from the end of it, however Mitsuko refused to budge. After trying for a few seconds the anuran got enraged as he raised his trident high very quickly before attempting to plant it into the ground, the rapid movement forced Mitsuko's body to jerk backwards and forward. As the trident was plummeting to the ground it jerked her forward, her body poised to be penetrated by one of the prongs of the trident. She uncoiled her headless serpent arm from the trident and dropped to the ground, narrowly avoiding the getting impaled. She rolled as she would land on the ground, rolling over the shoulder, minimising the damage from the fall as she rolled back to her feet. As she straightened her face out she saw the trident once again coming towards her. She leapt up in the air at the last moment, smirking before she did so staring at the eyes of the amphibian.
She landed on the trident before she immediately sprinted up on the polearm, coming towards the anuran's face. The anuran used their kite shield to swat Mitsuko away. Though she leapt at the last second, avoiding the kit shield as it was facing horizontally, as if the anuran was brushing dust off their arm. Although Mitsuko got closer, the dreaded crescent blade lurched forward, the anuran tilted their head to the left side to avoid the attack. The serpent extended, surprising the anuran. As it gasped slightly the crescent blade was thin enough to enter the mouth. Mitsuko's strength and momentum caused the anuran to crash to the ground after the blade penetrated the thick layers of flesh, spurting out bright green blood as it fell.
It screamed in agony as it writhed on the floor, clutching the damaged face. As Mitsuko landed with both her feet, she bent her knees just before being assailed by a flurry of blows by Jinhza. His assault put her on the back foot as she dodged and deflected the attacks as best she could. As they duelled Mitsuko could see the frustration in the face of Jinhza as he could not land a blow. Despite his best efforts he could not quite finish the job and that infuriated him. He struck downwards with his double-bladed sword. Mitsuko blocked the attack and initiated a deadlock where one of his blades met with the neck of the scythe as she struck upwards with it. Sweat pouring from his head downwards, his breathing is slow, thankful for a moment of respite as the two locked eyes with each other. Mitsuko wore a lopsided smirk, showing she's enjoying his frustration, his hatred, the fact he's losing his once prominent composure.
'What's the matter, god? Bit off a bit more than you can chew?'
'Stop mocking me!' He yelled as he pushed her away with his strength and continued his onslaught. Mitsuko's grin was wide, full of satisfaction as she read his movements. Tried as he might he could not get her, his movements he felt was getting slower and slower, this dragged on too long for his body. Nothing went his way, from the serpent gaining a new level of stamina and the blasted anurans. No he couldn't let himself think that, he needed that crown and he will have it! Mitsuko kept dodging before he overextended a downwards strike towards him. Mitsuko side kicked him in the stomach, pushing him back as he coughed more blood. He hunched over as Mitsuko lunged forward and raised her scythe high from below, the tip of the crescent blade slicing through the first layer of flesh of Jinhza's right side of his face as he attempted to evade the attack by straightening his back. He growled in hatred as he felt more of his golden godly blood, trickle down his face. Overcome with frustration he roars before he charges in.
Meanwhile outside of the main palace, Diamondback and his men are currently struggling against their amphibian opponents who easily towered over them. Diamondback snarled as he saw his opponent laugh at his struggles before swinging his sword down on diamondback. Diamondback rolled to the side, Diamondback rushed forward towards the Anuran however he quickly swiped the sword arm towards him at a high speed, taking Diamondback by surprise. He couldn't dodge the strike as the fist of the Anuran wielding the sword, swatted Diamondback away and landed onto the ground. He groaned in pain as he landed on his side. The anuran took advantage of the opportunity as he hopped next to Diamondback and thrusted the shield it was wielding into Diamondbacks neck. The shield was stopped temporarily by Diamondbacks polearm. As powerful as Diamondback was, he could not keep this up for long as his arms were shaking a lot. His eyes widened when the amphibian raised his sword high pointing down before suddenly dropping it into his face. Diamondback used all his remaining strength to use the part of the polearm that was inside of the shield and pushed it off him, as the amphibian focused on his sword arm.
The sudden change took the amphibian by surprise before he quickly used his shield to try and swat Diamondback again. Diamondback ducked but immediately the sword was raised from the ground while using its momentum upwards to strike Diamondback. Diamondback rolled out of the way as a dust cloud erupted from the ground as did the silver sword which shone brightly in the air as it reflected the crescending moonlight as darkness began to descend. The anuran brought the sword back down and got back into a battle stance. Diamondback stood up and got into his battle stance, anticipating the movement by the anuran as he raised his shield high, peering over it. The frog took a step forward, Diamondback took a step back and leant on his back leg. The frog suddenly stopped as it smirked before it immediately started to inhale air, Diamondback wasn't prepared for that as he stumbled as his weight was on the wrong leg. He fell to the ground and grunted, as he did the anuran opened his mouth with excitement as he hopped into the air before attempting to and on top of Diamondback. Diamondback manages to roll out of the way before the anuran landed on the ground.
Diamondback jumped straight back up and lunged towards the anuran, the amphibian swung their sword horizontally towards Diamondback who blocked with their halberd. The force made diamondback scrape their feet against the ground however using all his strength he stays up and holds the sword at bay. The creature goes in for another slam with his shield, trying to split the body in two with sheer might. Diamondback fought back and pushed the blade away surprising the amphibian as he crashed the shield onto the ground. Diamondback rolled forward to avoid the attack. As he completes a roll he skewers with his halberd straight diagonally upwards, penetrating the forearm of the shield arm. Bright green blood spills from the wound down his entire body as the Anuran screamed in torment, the metallic golden spikes sticking and puncturing the insides of the arm. The blood was…warm. The Anuran quickly raised the shield arm out of instinct, however though the spikes that punctured through the skin Diamondback was able to be lifted into the air, dangling from the halberd and the bleeding arm.
The Anuran groaned with agony as Diamondback was lifted, he tried to shake the arm so that he could let go as he didn't want to feel any more pain, however it didn't work. Diamondback snarled in response to his response. The Anuran dropped his sword and quietly braced himself as he grabbed diamondback and quickly threw him away to the ground, Diamondback groaned once again as he lied on the floor, but chuckles as he sees he amphibian crash to the ground, clutching to the open wound. The breathing rapidly increased as the pain coursed throughout the body like a slow virus, working its way through the body. The amphibian croaked in regular intervals before eyeing up Diamondback and immediately had an infuriated look in his eyes as he stood up and grabbed his sword and began to charge toward Diamondback.
Diamondback stood up, sweat clinging onto his scales however as he got closer, he saw the hatred in the amphibian golden eyes before he threw his halberd at the perfect time before the Anuran was able to strike. It all went so fast that the anuran was not able to deflect the halberd and instead recoiled in agony as the halberd pierced its bulbous gold eyes. Bright green blood poured out of the wound as it clutched it while screaming. It crashed to its knees as as it pulled the halberd out and threw it away.
'You bastard! I…I'll kill you, I'll make you suffer a thousand deaths!' The anuran declared, yelling as loud as he could among the chaos of battle, pointing his sword at diamondback. Diamondback took a deep breath as he walks and picks up his mighty blood-soaked halberd who still thirsted for more blood, spit out some black blood of his own. He looked at the wounded Anuran trying to act tough when in reality, his body just needed one more push to break. He smirked and pointed his halberd towards the towering amphibian, blooded and bruised.
'Then come, inflict them upon me. If you can.' He chuckled, he did his best to relay the false heroism he was feeling, though he was confident he could best his opponent the battle thus far had took a lot out of him. If he was mistaken about his opponent, it would be his demise. The Anuran croaked in hatred as it was about to lunge in before he heard more footsteps…footsteps that weren't anuran. He looked behind them and was shocked to see reinforcements for the enemy. Waving the banners of the Serpent. These weren't supposed to be here, where did they come from!? The number of the reinforcements led the other anuran accompanying him to get swamped with a lot more numbers. The sudden surprise when spears and javelins started and penetrating their body was enough to turn the tide. The anuran for all their towering size and strength could not outmatch their numbers and outright ferocity of the reinforcements. Climbing and lunging themselves in more aggressively, biting chunks of flesh, cutting through them to cut them down, leading to them being vulnerable to be swamped before being promptly eviscerated. He looked at Diamondback who chuckled.
'Well then, I'm waiting toad.' He declared. The anuran snarled, he knew his objective, but the numbers weren't on his side. The demons started to overrun their position. The anuran looked towards the main palace and scowled.
'Tch, let him try and get the serpent. Someone must inform our lady about this'
'This isn't over, whelp. FALL BACK!' He yelled to the remaining anurans who quickly oblige. Only a couple remained from their ambush. They hopped away as fast as they could, though the others found their strength quickly drained before they crashed through rubble leaving only Diamondbacks opponent remaining.
'Get back here!' Diamondback called out before he started to sprint towards them.
'Let him go. Save your energy.' A familiar voice called out. Diamondback stopped in his tracks and turned around to see Pang Tong with his new scaly companion who towered over him by a full foot.
'Master strategist are you sure?'
'I am indeed, just call me Pang Tong, I'm not a formal lord yet.' He chuckled before continuing.
'No, its good to let a least one go, inform the opposition as to what happened and let them know of their failure. Demoralisation and anger can be conjured up from a single survivor. Besides their element of surprise is gone which was their greatest advantage. Now that we know of them, they can be sure that they will work harder to conceal themselves from us if they wish and dedicate more resources to combat us, resources that will be taken from other projects as I doubt these frogs are solely interested in us.' Pang Tong explained.
'Ahh yes, I see now.'
'Excellent, I'm glad you do. Many willingly keep their eyes shut on the possibilities. Not like our lady of course.'
'Indeed, mast-er Pang Tong who is that next to you, I have not seen this one before.' Diamondback motions weakly to the towering alligator like creature. It examines him before opening its mouth and exudes a small growl, signifying it is not one for small talk and pleasantries.
'Oh this? This is something I have been working on. A hypothesis based upon your story?'
'Mine?'
'Yes, how you emerged gave me an idea, this is the result of my experiment.'
'I see, what is it called?'
'Gore-roc I think is a fine name.'
'Ahh, well…a pleasure to meet you Gore-roc.' Diamondback greeted it, though it looked at Diamondback and walked away with its weapon in hand.
'Well, I'm sure it'll warm up soon.' Pang Tong chuckled before a soldier of the reinforcements came in and knelt before them.
'Master Pang Tong. Lord Diamondback' He stated their names, daring not to make eye contact.
'At ease soldier, tell me where did your reinforcements came from? I am grateful for your help of course but I did not anticipate nor send for any.' Diamondback questioned.
'Lord Gyuki advised so, we wanted to help him however he ordered us to help you first my lord, he was surrounded by multiple of the same enemy here.' The soldier advised.
'Gyuki…what is that fool thinking? Even with his strength, taking multiple of these beasts on at once on his own.' Diamondback scowled, he tightened his first carrying his halberd.
'It seems that Gyuki thought their soldiers would suffer the same fate perhaps and wanted thought with his immense size and strength would be enough to match his opponents.'
'Well we have to augh!' Diamondback quickly clutched his wounds as he took a step forward. Pang Tong shook his head.
'You are in no condition to assist anyone. You will rest here with the rest of the wounded. Gore-Roc.' Pang Tong called out to the large alligator creature who quickly turned to face him.
'Go with these soldiers and assist our fellow demon would you? Eliminate all hostiles.' Pang Tong ordered. Gore-roc roared loudly, signalling he understood the order and quickly ran to the position that the reinforcements came from.
'Soldier, take as many as you can towards where you last left lord Gyuki.'
'Yes, master Pang Tong.' The soldier stood up and nodded as he quickly gave orders for the men that were trying to rest to get back up on their feet and start marching again. Pang Tong face diamondback and smirked under his black veil as he helped settle him down to the ground, with his back resting on some rubble for support.
'Now then, tell me what you know about this moon goddess I heard about.'
Elsewhere on the outskirts of the city centre LingQi and Luna kept on duelling each other. Debris and bodies were littered all over the battlefield with blood staining the ground. LingQi and Luna were covered with wounds yet neither one of them let up on their relentless onslaught. Little did they know they were being observed by survivors, hiding in the debris of ruined houses unsure of which one would win. Each time steel clashed with steel from these two a shockwave was created in the immediate vicinity. Both looked at each other with a steeled determination as another deadlock was initiated. Luna guffawed with pleasure as the adrenaline pumped through her veins with no end in sight. However, LingQi stared at her with hatred, not uttering a single word apart from a grunt or a snarl here and there.
Luna was the one to win the deadlock this time as she pushed away both glaives that formed an 'x' shape, LingQi staggered back. Luna swung her mace from underneath as she stepped forward. LingQi blocked the attack with her right polearm and swung from her right with the left one, aiming to decapitate her. Luna grabbed the blade before it made contact with her free hand, holding it in place. Their arms shaking under both of their immense strength countering each other. LingQi surprised Luna by pulling her in closer, allowing her two smaller chitinous arms to make strikes to her torso. Each strike was a powerful blow before LingQi bit into her shoulder using her pincer. Luna screeched in pain, almost sounding mechanically. Before Luna could return the favour, she threw up Luna using her pincers. Luna wasn't sure how to respond as she was thrown up at least 10 feet in the air before she plummeted down again, though not before LingQi used one of her halberds to thrust upwards. The halberd penetrated through Luna's body. Golden blood ran down the halberd like a waterfall, the body was limp. LingQi examined the sight closely, she found the blood to be darker than before.
Luna screeched in her face before she hit her in the chest with her mace. The pain surged through the surprise attack took LingQi by surprise and swung the halberd. Making Luna slide off and roll on the floor before she used the momentum to get back on her feet. As she stood up she looked upon LingQi and laughed, laughed maniacally which LingQi wasn't sure why. Did she have an ace in her sleeve that she wasn't aware of? Did she believe that she would win this duel? Or is she just merely enjoying herself. LingQi did not care though, there was one objective in her mind. Slay Luna. Luna snarled as her wound was quickly regenerating before she sprinted towards her. LingQi swung her left halberd down with enough force to obliterate the ground that it struck. Though Luna was easily able to sidestep the attack and swung her mace aiming at the back of LingQi's head. LingQi blocked the attack by using her other halberd, recoiling her arm backwards to block the blow. She twisted her body to the left and used her free halberd to attempt to strike at Luna's torso.
Luna ducked under the halberd strike and swept the front right leg of LingQi outwards, LingQi's legs buckled slightly as her body dropped closer to the ground. Despite how she appeared to look, this new body was still getting to grips in understanding the full nuances of her new form. As her body lowered slightly, Luna struck downwards quickly with her mace. LingQi blocked the attack using both of her polearms however Luna repeatedly kept striking at the same spot, giving LingQi no chance to break out. Each strike made her legs slightly drop closer and closer to the ground as they spread out more to keep steady. Luna kept her onslaught up as much as possible, metallic clanging was heard across the battlefield, ringing in the ears of LingQi before she noticed the strikes were getting ever so slightly slower. But it was enough. On the final strike LingQi skittered around the left side as she parried the mace in time to use her momentum to stagger her forwards. LingQi spun and used her halberds with her might aimed at her face. Luna turned to face LingQi, only to be met with the blade of the halberd crashing against the side of her face. Throwing her away to the ground as she rolled away. A streak of golden blood appeared only to be replaced with pure abyss black nearer to where Luna was lying.
LingQi knew she wasn't done yet. LingQi sprinted towards Luna and plunged both of her halberds deep in the ground. Luna rolled out of the way. Making the halberds penetrate the earth. LingQi used her closest halberd and raised it high as she extended her arm. Striking Luna as she was rolling away, leaving a gash in her torso, carving the ground to do so. Luna was again thrown away, though this time she stood up. LingQi noticed something as she got back in her battle ready stance. The large gash in her torso is regenerating but slower, as well as the cut on her face from earlier. Some of her metallic teeth were broken off, though they were regrowing. Abyss black blood dripped from the tiny gaps between her teeth and spilled on the floor. More was spilled as she opened her mouth, exhaling a slight sigh with smoke or steam coming out aswell. LingQi thought that her fledgeling rage may finally be running out. Though she knows she can't relent now, for Mitsuko's sake.
LingQi released an insectoid screech as she skittered forward. Hoping to land another blow against her. Luna tilted her head before she sprinted forward, going for an overhead swing. LingQi raised her glaives to anticipate the attack. Both got severely close to each other before the mace would immediately drop and Luna bent forwards. Luna grabbed LingQi with both her arms around LingQi's torso and picked her up in the air before slamming her into the ground behind her. Luna immediately let go and grabbed LingQi's face and slammed the back of her head into the ground repeatedly, making a tiny crater with blood starting to form from it. She positioned her arm in a way that LingQi's pincers could not grab onto them. LingQi could only flail her arms and legs in response before she was able to plant the halberd into the ground, stopping Luna in her tracks. Luna quickly used her mace to attack LingQi's abdomen. However, she was able to grab the mace in time using her smaller arms and used her strength to throw her forwards. LingQi quickly scrambled back to her feet, only to be met with another mace attack, hitting LingQi on the left side of her face, then the right side. LingQi avoided the next strike as Luna struck upwards towards her jaw. She took a step back to avoid the strike only to step forward to slash diagonally downwards from the right side. Luna grabbed the blade again, however LingQi is noticing that she is struggling more so than earlier before she pushed the blade away and attacked overhead. LingQi blocked using the other side of the same halberd and thrusted the other one into Luna's chest.
LingQi kicked her away from the polearm. Luna's regeneration was getting slower and slower as she staggered away. Luna seemed to be frustrated as she slammed the mace into the ground multiple times in different areas before screeching ferociously. She sprinted forward and feinted an attack downwards to surprise LingQi before she swung across at her stomach. The attack made LingQi's feet scrape against the ground before Luna swung downwards, the attack connected as LingQi was winded, the top of her head was starting to crack open as LingQi felt her blood escape from her head. LingQi grimaced, was she suffering from the same fate as Luna? Pain coursed around her body more and more as each strike connecting felt like it did more damage. Though this only strengthened her resolve as she thought this was even more reason to slay her right here, right now as her thoughts drifted to Mitsuko potentially feeling this pain. Her rage flared up more as she thought this. Mitsuko has been through enough, she doesn't deserve to feel this, no more shall she suffer! She will protect her and her dreams of a new world and will kill everyone who dares stands in her way!
LingQi cross chopped Luna using her halberds however Luna jumped away just in time, LingQi skittered forward with malice as she released a flurry of slash attacks. Luna attempted to avoid them however because her movements were getting slower and slower, more attacks managed to graze through. Leaving cuts throughout her body, Luna started to groan in agony with each cut left on her body. The regeneration getting slower and slower until it seemed like it wasn't regenerating anymore. LingQi thrusted one her halberds in Luna's stomach, Luna spat out blood. All was silent for a moment, only the sound of the wind could be heard. Before Luna unleashed a deafening screech of defiance as she pulled herself on the halberd towards LingQi. She tried to push or kick her away however Luna summoned all her strength to defy her. LingQi couldn't understand it as Luna's body pressed against hers after she opened her jaws wide and bit into LingQi's left shoulder. LingQi let out a shriek of torment as the metallic jaws continued to dig themselves deeper into her skin, penetrating the chitinous hide. LingQi recoiled her neck to give her enough space to use her pincers to clamp on to Luna's left shoulder. LingQi used all her strength to use her smaller arms to punch and penetrate Luna's torso while Luna used the mace to whack LingQi's back and lower body.
They both pushed against each other in a final bid to defeat their enemy. Like two beasts vying for dominance of the tribe. Both were afflicted with suffering as it coursed throughout the body, blood was being lost on the floor their strength was waning despite their determination. One had to let go. They were pushing against each other with LingQi getting an edge on Luna. Luna caved in, she opened her jaw to let go of LingQi, much to her relief. Only to let go of her mace and grabbed her pincers and pried them open and positioned them on each side of her head. Luna opened her jaws wide and was about to bite into LingQi's face. Ending this fight. LingQi used her other halberd and saw the opportunity to thrust the glaive into her mouth, penetrating the back of it. Luna's gurgling could be heard as LingQi yelled pushing her back towards the wall of a building. Using both her halberds she pinned her against the wall temporarily before the wall caved in due to her immense strength. Luna was buried in the bricks as LingQi withdrew her glaives, drenched in blood. She thought her job was done as she skittered away only for her legs to give way after a few steps. She planted her halberds in the ground to stop herself from collapsing. Her breathing quickly increased, suffering rode its way across her body. Almost like her body while fighting Luna put a pause on everything and is only just now catching up with itself. LingQi couldn't let her body give way now, the battle still rages on. Mitsuko is still there fighting for her life. She must return to her side to protect her. She was slowly stumbling towards the main palace when suddenly she heard rubble started to move. She turned around and saw Luna's hand breakthrough of the rubble. She was shocked, just how much pain could she go through?
Luna unleashed one last deafening screech that could be heard across the city as she started to regenerate, steam could be seen from the wounds. LingQi couldn't believe it, she still has this much strength left after all that? Her hatred started to build once again, why can't she just stay dead! She summoned all the strength she could to face and got into a battle ready stance. The regeneration was quickly done. She looked at LingQi, tilted her head before uttering her first words in this form.
'How...interesting.' Before she quickly collapsed on the ground backwards. LingQi wasn't sure what to make of this situation, was this her final play to trick her? Was she dead? She didn't know but what LingQi did know that this was the best chance to make sure she didn't bother Mitsuko again. She stumbled towards her, though she barely had enough strength left. She dragged the blades of the polearms across the ground, each step was a test of endurance, each step felt like it was her last though LingQi refused to let her body give in. Not now. LingQi finally after dragging herself from what seemed like a long time hovered over Luna. She raised one of her halberds high over her neck.
'Die' She stated however she felt like her body shut down immediately. Her chitinous body cracked before quickly breaking apart revealing LingQi in her human form, like a butterfly being released from a cocoon. She wore the same armour that she broke transforming. Her halberds reverted to their original state as the serpents recoiled and melted back into the polearm. LingQi felt darkness and tiredness all at once and her body couldn't handle it. It collapsed to the ground, face first next to Luna. Both warriors unconscious and unable to move.
'Mitsuko...stay safe.'
'Hyaaaagh!' Gyuki slammed an Anuran through a building holding onto its tongue. Another Anuran leapt onto its back, holding onto his jacket before trying to stab his sword into his shoulder. Gyuki winced before he he let go of the tongue and grabbed the anuran by the face and threw him to the ground in front of him. The body bounced once before he it settled promptly. Gyuki went to stomp on the anuran. The final amphibian leapt on Gyuki's face and held onto his horns tightly. The weight shift caused Gyuki to stagger back to make sure he doesn't fall. The anuran croaked once before it spat sticky substance in his face. They leapt of as Gyuki tries to wipe it away with his hand. His head facing downwards. It was a stubborn substance as Gyuki realised as he tried to wipe it off. One of the anurans glaives was able to penetrate Gyuki's shin. Gyuki cried out as he quickly crashed to the ground, desperately trying to wipe away the substance. One of the anurans hopped towards Gyuki with a final leap they would plumet their spear into the Gyuki's head. Killing the devourer.
Gyuki stood up with his eyes closed in the nick of time, extended his massive club, and smacked the anuran across the entire body, sending him flying towards the castle wall. The anuran slid down before that portion of the wall started to crumble as they got up, they couldn't move away in time as bricks buried him. It gave Gyuki the chance to wipe away the resident substance. The first thing Gyuki saw as he opened his eyes was an anuran tongue coming towards him. He put his free arm up to make sure it didn't wrap around his legs. He pulled the anuran closer to him and was lining a strike with his club, however the anuran buried under the rubble broke free and rammed his spear in the back of Gyuki's right thigh. Gyuki had to kneel due to the sudden agony. Leaving the anuran following able to position correctly and landed on Gyuki, plunging the blade they were wielding into his chest. Gyuki let out black blood as he reflexively let go of his club due to the torment that was surfing its way around the body. The other two anuran used their tongues to wrap around Gyuki's legs and pulled them closer, making him drop to the ground stomach down. The anuran that was on him let go and leapt off.
'Now, let's finish you off.' They stated as Gyuki looked up to see the final anuran leapt closer with sword in hand. Gyuki readied his hands to intercept the attack however much to his surprise a flicker in the shadows could've been seen only for an instant. Gyuki knew who this was instantly. The flash of gold flickered in the moonlight as the shadow closed in on the attacking anuran. The golden metallic gauntlet connected with the side of the amphibian. Knocking him away. The anuran that grabbed gyuki's legs quickly recoiled their tongues before he had a chance to grab them and hopped away. Entering into a battle ready stance. Gyuki stood up with Dodomeki landing him, grabbing his massive club.
'You fool, what do you think you're doing?' Dodomeki asked. Gyuki looked at him puzzlingly.
'I…was fighting for our lady?'
'No, you were fighting an unknown enemy on your own. You were too far out, you need to be more careful now that we're fighting in open battles.'
'Ahh sorry, sorry.' Gyuki apologised as he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly as Dodomeki sighed.
'Honestly, just be more cautious in the future. Now come, we have some frogs that need slaying.' Dodomeki stated as he got into a battle stance. Gyuki did the same thing as the anuran circled around them, hopping, eager to pounce on them. Gyuki glanced at Dodomeki and noticed the wounds on his body. The dark patches of bruises on his torso along with the sweat clinging onto his skin as breathed deeply.
'Dodomeki must've pushed himself too hard to get here to assist me. Hopefully he finished his business before coming here. You say be careful but you should take your own advice my brother.' Gyuki thought to himself, he knew in the state that he was in, he needed to protect Dodomeki, he knew Dodomeki was in a worse position than he was letting on. He wasn't sure how to proceed with the anuran, though he knew his blood brother. He knew Dodomeki could be a fierce opponent no matter his condition. He would just need to keep an eye on him. Even he can do something as simple as that…right?
The anuran surrounding them scowled at the sight of Dodomeki, viewing him as an interfering worm. But then they smirked, they can kill 2 demons easily. This shouldn't take too long. They all leapt up and attacked at once. Gyuki and Dodomeki however were prepared to defend themselves. Gyuki lunged forward and grabbed one in the air before slamming the body onto the ground. One of the other anurans was able to wrap its tongue around Gyuki's neck Gyuki grabbed the tongue with his club hand and held the tongue with his index finger and thumb before whipping it over them. The frog flew overhead before crashing into a building that collapsed onto itself. The anuran that was currently being held used this moment to stab Gyuki above the wrist. Gyuki had to let go and hold the wound before slamming the club onto his opponent. The amphibian rolled away, getting on its front and hopping away. Gyuki snarled before he rushed forward.
Dodomeki meanwhile was dodging his opponents attacks as best as he could, the anuran unleashed a flurry of blows though he was not able ot catch Dodomeki. Now that he fought with an anuran previously, he was able to at least get a glimmer into how they fight. At least against smaller opponents. He ducked under a slice from the sword and moved in close to strike with a punch, the attack caught the anuran by surprise, the eyes widened with shock as he got the wind punched out of him. Dodomeki leapt up and performed and uppercut to his chin. The strength of the attack though powerful was not enough to send the anuran flying off his feet, though he did feel it as Dodomeki leapt backwards. The anuran rubbed the jaw with its slimy hands.
'Ooh, that was a good one. Looks like I'll have to try against you.' It stated simply.
'In that case, bring it.'
In the main palace Mitsuko had gotten the upper hand on Jinhza. An attack coming from the side which was deflected by Jinhza before he quickly twisted his body and jumped up in the air to land an overhead strike. The strike was easily blocked by Mitsuko using the outside neck of the crescent blade. Jinzha's blade slid off with the shape of the scythe before Mitsuko twisted it and tried to decapitate him. Jinhza ducked under the blade, Mitsuko quickly used the same manoeuvre however this time aiming for his lower leg using a fluid sweeping motion. Jinhza stepped over the scythe as it got too close to comfort. As he did, he thrusted the double-bladed weapon towards Mitsuko's neck. Mitsuko blocked the attack by using her disarmed serpent arm to smack it down and cleaving through his body diagonally downwards from her left side using the scythe. Jinhza used the other side of the weapon to block the attack.
Another deadlock was initiated. Mitsuko could examine that Jinhza is losing too much steam. She's surprised she hasn't collapsed yet, she will give him points for his determination. Although, she knows that he will not last much longer. The fire in his eyes were starting to be extinguished. The way he was blocked and moved recently are too sluggish for him to continue. Even though his wounds were not severe, they will be after she is finished with him. He will fall, she knew this, it was just a matter of when. Even his hatred of her was starting to die, like a withering flame left in the cold, the embers of the flame flicker less with life as the fire shrunk until eventually, it dissipated. She wore a wicked smirk on her face.
'Stop it! Stop trying to taunt me you demon!' Jinhza retorted as ferociously as he could, however his voice became hoarse, he felt that his throat was dry, every time he exhaled it sounded like there was something blocking part of his windpipe. He even sounded exhausted. He knew if he was going to claim victory it must be now, before the Anuran get hold of it. His mind was willing though the body was a different story. His muscles flared, desperate to get a rest. Affliction of agony could be felt everywhere, yet he will still stand. He is a god! The only one worthy to rule the mystic realm, he cannot die here at the hands of Orochi…no…it wasn't Orochi. Not anymore. Jinzha wanted to deny it all throughout the fight, however he did not see her as Orochi anymore. As Mitsuko slashed with her scythe with unbridled ferocity, Jinzha did his best to dodge and block the attacks, however looking at those horrible eyes…this wasn't Orochi. If it was, the serpent evolved into this abomination. This creature who delighted in the torment it afflicted, he could see the pleasure in her eyes slowly more and more grazes around his body began to appear. More blood dripped, surrounded by sweat that was clinging onto his body stubbornly. It enjoyed the fear that it caused, its going to enjoy it more…this creature…this Mitsuko…terrified him. Yet he will not give in!
'Guaah!' Jinhza cried out as Mitsuko slashed upwards diagonally causing a large wound to appear in his chest. The force of the attack lifted him up into the air for just a second before he crashed to the ground. He groaned in pain, his body begged him to lie down, to stop putting it through so much agony. He denied its request as he tried to stand up. He opened his eyes facing the ground and could see blood…his golden god blood dripping down the ground staining his hands. His arms straightened though they shook a lot, his right hand still clenching tightly to his double-bladed weapon. He looked up to see that same horrific smirk on Mitsuko's face.
'Is that all you have? You should consider retreating if you value your life, not that I would let you of course. But still you should've kept the option open.'
'Of…course not!' Jinhza struggled to say as he manages to get up on one knee. Planting one of his swords on the ground as support.
'I will not retreat and cower in fear while you will do as you please upon the citizens of this world.'
'Is that so? But you did that before I was even born no? You cowered and let humanity degrade with corruption.'
'That is not true! You know nothing of the mystic realm or our laws!' Jinhza defended himself feverously. He was not about to have her criticise him for being immoral!
'This is true I don't but the very fact that you have intervened here of your own volition proves you could've done so at any point. You are just using me as an excuse and try to get the moral high ground. You do not care for humans, you just hate me. Which I must say is rather uncalled for. I can be quite the host given the opportunity.' Mitsuko chuckled, Jinzha gritted his teeth in defiance, Mitsuko jovially joking around like they weren't just fighting to the death infuriated him. It's like she wasn't taking this seriously at all, she wasn't taking him seriously. He pointed his double-bladed weapon at Mitsuko.
'Believe what you will serpent, but you will not dare lecture me about morality and corruption!'
'Tch, I can do what I please, you're not the one with the advantage.' Mitsuko replied as she sliced diagonally upwards, Jinhza blocked the attack. The force of the attack made him land on his back, though he managed to use the momentum to roll backwards and land back on his feet and rushed forward to attack Mitsuko. He unleashed a volley of blows, refusing to allow his body one second of rest while Mitsuko still drew breath. Mitsuko dodged and blocked the oncoming attacks with ease. When an opportunity arose, she used her headless snake arm to wrap around Jinhza's arm that still held on to the blade at the time and crushed it, stopping him in his tracks as Jinhza shrieked with agony. Mitsuko picked him up using the arm and slammed him into the ground repeatedly. Jinhza managed to thrust his sword into the serpent arm, Mitsuko quickly threw Jinhza away as he rolled to the ground reflexively. Mitsuko smirked as she opened her snake head and released a dark purple sphere at him. Jinhza widened his eyes as he got to his feet and shot out a bolt of white magic at the ball, it was destroyed before the sphere hit Jinhza. He breathed a sigh of relief as he knew how destructive that could be. He was surrounded by smoke from the resulting explosion.
'Too slow!' Mitsuko called out beyond the smoke with her crescent blade raised high in the air. Jinhza managed to sidestep the attack in time and aimed for her neck. Mitsuko leant back to avoid the blade and struck from the side. Jinhza blocked the attack by raising the blade high when it went past Mitsuko. The two continued their duel as the anuran stood up and eyed up Mitsuko, clutching their wound and squeezing their trident. How dare she harm them, she will pay! The anuran gathered up their acidic saliva and spit towards the two. Mitsuko saw this and roundhouse kicked Jinhza in the face before leaping away. The acidic spit started to dissolve the flooring and part of the pillar, though not enough to make it collapse.
'You will be sacrificed to lady Change'e! You will be the instrument of her vengeance!' The anuran stated as it charged Mitsuko with its trident pointing towards her. Mitsuko said nothing as she got into her battle stance to intercept the attack. She attacked overhead as she lunged forward just before the trident would try to penetrate her. The inside neck of the scythe clashed in between the two of the prongs of the trident. The force of the Anuran pushed Mitsuko back, her boots grinded against the flooring. However the Anuran noticed that despite the large size difference it was getting more and more difficult to push Mitsuko before all of a sudden, she stopped them both in their tracks. Mitsuko looked up and tilted her head.
'Is that all you got?' She questioned as she wrapped the headless serpent around the centre prong of the golden trident as she picked it up surprising the anuran as it let out a shocked yell before she dropped them on its back as she threw the trident over her shoulder. The frog let out a groan of suffering as it rolled to its side. It quickly stood up facing its back to Mitsuko before swinging its trident as it spun around. Mitsuko ducked underneath the golden fork as she rolled forward. The anuran quickly planted his trident in the ground aiming for Mitsuko however she moved forward too much as the prongs landed behind her. the amphibian used the frog to leap itself in the air and land behind her. As Mitsuko turned around to face her opponent the Anuran used their trident and pushed towards Mitsuko and pinned her immediately against one of the many pillars. It was pinned so tight against it that Mitsuko couldn't move. The amphibian guffawed before it recoiled its head to gather its acidic spit in its mouth. In this quick second Mitsuko withdrew her crescent blade from her serpent head and fired another dark purple sphere and aimed it at one of the hands keeping a hold of the trident. The sphere hit the slimy hand of the amphibian who quickly dropped the trident as it felt the sudden affliction in suffering let go of the trident and clutched the hand that was ablaze with a dark purple flame that slowly consumed it. Mitsuko was able to grab the two prongs at the ends and pulled it. Freeing her from the pillar, the trident was dropped to the ground, releasing a loud metallic clang as it hit the ground. Mitsuko watched as the towering behemoth of a frog squealed as the agony spread like a disease slowly. She noticed that the amphibian was not trying to touch the flame yet try to blow it out using its breath. She wondered about this and concluded the flame more than likely would spread to that area.
What happened next surprised her, the pain was so immense that she saw the amphibian panicked and grabbed the trident and stabbed it through the arm that is still a fair away from the flame that was slowly creeping up on the rest of the body. It let out an agonising shriek as it dug the trident deeper, tearing the flesh apart as much it could. It quickly withdrew the trident from the arm leaving a gaping hole in it. The amphibian quickly grabbed a hold of the arm that wasn't ablaze and used all its strength and ripped it in one smooth motion. Blood splattered all over the ground and kept pouring out from the open wound as it couldn't be covered. It crashed on one knee and groaned, trying to keep his suffering silent in front of his enemy, too late granted but it still had a modicum of pride left. It clenched its eyes shut as it winced painfully and tried to get its hyperventilating breathing under control. Mitsuko smiled as her opponent was writhing in pain. She didn't have any ill will against this giant frog personally, however because it had a problem with her, didn't warm her to it in the slightest. She licked her lips revealing the tip of the tongue to start becoming indented slightly inwards at the height of the curve. The frog finally calmed its breathing and picked up the trident with its remaining hand and stood high and proud.
'Bravo, that was quite the performance. I must say it was quite disarming at first, but I really felt like you were giving it your all in that performance. Encore I say.' Mitsuko mocked as the amphibian furrowed its eyes and quickly plunged the trident towards her.
'You will die screaming!' It yelled out with frothing hatred. How dare this demon mock them! Mitsuko took a step back before the trident was quickly pulled out and slashed towards Mitsuko. She was able to intercept the attacks as the metallic clashes of steel echoed throughout the main hall of the palace.
At the top of the palace Zheng jiang and Zhang Yan continued their duel, away from the rest of the world where the carnage of the battle below was but a distant memory to them. Their utter contempt for each other was all they could focus on. Zhang Yan lunged forward and attacked Zheng Jiang. Zheng Jiang managed to block and dodge the attacks as Zhang Yan attacked wildly. Zheng Jiang after leaning back to dodge a block attacked overhead with her right axe. Zhang Yan jumped back, narrowly avoiding the axe before blocking the oncoming horizontal swing from Zheng Jiangs other axe. The blade met with the handle of the axe rather than the sharp curved blade itself. Zhang Yan pushed Zheng Jiang away before she could counter with her right axe once again. Zhang Yan lunged forward as she was veered away from him and tried taking out her legs. Zheng Jiang simply raised her front leg up to avoid the sweeping attack as she raised both her axes and used the momentum of her landing to strike overhead. Zhang Yan blocked the attack using his blade and raised it horizontally, blocking both and using his free hand to reinforce the block by holding up the flat side of the blade underneath.
Zheng Jiang gritted her teeth as she mounted the pressure on, they've been at this for too long, she wanted to kill him now. She kicked him away which made him stagger backwards before charging forward, yelling out. She swung her right axe to decapitate him outright. Zhang Yan ducked underneath the blade and stabbed Zheng Jiang who avoided it as she deflected the blade with her other axe as he moved to her right side giving her a perfect angle to strike down with her raised axe. She did so however she missed as Zhang Yan leapt slightly backwards narrowly avoiding the attack. He raised the axe high and struck down to Zheng Jiang. She blocked with both her axes, he was positioned in such a way that she could not reach her with his kick. The two initiated a deadlock as they both locked eyes with each other, both of them determined to kill the other in vengeance. Zheng Jiang noticed a slight smirk worn by her hated foe, she was wondering why before she heard footsteps rapidly approaching her from behind. She pushed Zhang Yan away and swung her left axe as she spun around. The cold steel of the axe met with the warm flesh of an armoured guard with a sword rushing towards her. the axe sliced his neck forcing his body to be knocked back and landed on his back. Coughing up blood as he tried to stop the bleeding, the efforts were futile. Zheng Jiang quickly turned around however she was met with a blade thrusted into her stomach.
Everything went slow for a moment, at first there was nothing. She looked up at zhang Yan and saw his devious smile before she looked down to see the blade dug in. She grabbed the blade wound in reflex and felt the warm blood escaping from her own body. It was as if the world was stopped in motion only for a moment before it quickly resumed. When the pain surged around her body, the ringing blaring in her ears in a panic. She breathed in reflexively as she found herself suddenly without breath, while at the same time trying to suppress the blood trying to escape from her mouth, creeping from her throat. The sword was withdrawn and Zheng Jiang found her body about to collapse. She quickly grabbed a hold of one of the embrasures, which was the only thing preventing her from collapsing to the ground. Zhang Yan looked smug as he smiled at her.
'Ha-ha, did you really think you had a chance against me? You see, you lack what I have, resources. Resources that drove you away from the mountains and into hiding. You all should've just slowly disappeared then none of this would've happened to you. You should've stayed afraid of me.' He sneered, Zheng Jiang spat in his general direction, showing her disdain for the man.
'And yet…I still stand!' Zheng Jiang defiantly shouted at him. He could only chuckle at this feeble attempt at defiance.
'You really are a stubborn one, aren't you? Despite your frothing hatred for me I do think we could've gotten along, after all we are the same.'
'We are not the same!' Zheng Jiang coughed up blood as she spoke much to the delight of Zhang Yan.
'Are we not? You saw an opportunity just like I did in these mountains. These aren't exactly going to be easy for normal armies to invade. Plus the tactical advantage of these for raid and pillaging is pretty high. You were afraid and saw an opportunity to use your so-called ally to your advantage. You used your demonic ally to invade me in my own city at the heart of my own empire! Cunning indeed to use an ally like her, much like what I did to my own. We are the same, I'm just better than you.' Zheng Jiang looked away down at the ground. She hated to admit it but he had a point. She just initially used Mitsuko to her own advantage, to get help in killing the murderer of the one she loved as well as her sworn sister. She never expected to have Mitsuko help the way she did, the way she assisted her escape from her own personal abyss of despair. Yet she just used her to hide away…just like she accused, remembering that time when Mitsuko threatened to kill her, venting her anger and emotions. Yes, she saw pain in her eyes, a pain she is all too familiar with…loss. Loss of someone important to them. Yet despite that she was still able to move on, she was able to keep the fire in her soul ablaze. She was envious of that. Her mind quickly flickered back to the moments of her sworn sisters, of Gai Li and their secret meetings. Of Lu Zheng when they were ruled the Tai Dominion. Of the times of their childhood, having simple pleasure and laughing, unaware of the fate that would befall them. When they were innocent. Thinking of this Zheng Jiang mustered up the strength to keep on fighting through this physical pain, for this is nothing compared to the cruel fate of loneliness. She held on to one of the embrasures of the walls and pushed herself up and breathed slowly. Zhang Yan was shocked, he was sure she would be lying down now, begging for him to end her! What does this foolish woman think she is doing? She has defied him for the final time!
'You dare defy me still!? Despite everything!? You insignificant wretch, I will show you, I will show everyone in this land! This land, this empire…the god realm itself will be mine!' He yelled in a fit of rage as he raised his sword arm high and slashed down aiming for Zheng Jiangs head. She moved out of the way surprising Zhang Yan before he was able to recoil his sword arm Zheng Jiang slashed down. Cutting the wrist clean off, the hand grabbing the sword fell down the wall. Zhang Yan clutched his wrist and wailed loudly for help, for assistance. However there no one to save him and deep down he knew it. Zheng Jiang quickly sprinted and dug her two axes in his torso, inches from the shoulders and pushed him to the edge of the wall on the other side. Zhang Yan was suffering so much he couldn't say anything, he just wanted to scream yet for some reason he couldn't. He couldn't get the strength as the warm blood quickly filled his mouth. He looked to Zheng Jiangs hatred burning in her eyes, it terrified him. He never felt so much pain in his life and now here he is, on deaths door.
'Lu Zheng and Gai Li.'
'H-huh?'
'Lu Zheng and Gai Li. Remember those names well as you look around you to see your so-called empire crash around you! Remember the names as you will be haunted by them in the afterlife and in your next life! Remember the names as my dearest companions that you took from me, let their names ring in your ears as you plummet to your demise! Remember that the bandit queen has slayed the king of the mountains, it will be a tale I hope will be told throughout the ages. These mountains are mine!' Zheng Jiang bellowed. Tears threatening to escape before she used all her might to push him off the wall. Blood escaped from his wounds as he plummeted. As he was falling everything went silent, everything was moving in slow motion for him. Zhang Yan wasn't sure if this was some cruel joke from the heavens or what but he quickly looked around at the bottom. He saw the destruction of the cities, of its walls, of its soldiers. Their blood staining the very street of what was supposed to be his foundations. His thoughts drifted to what life was like when he was younger, scrounging for anything he could get his hands on. He couldn't rely on everyone for himself, he was abandoned…alone but he was not stupid. He learned the value of opportunities. The way he managed to obtain information from some Han bureaucrats by simply being in the vicinity disguised as a simple farmer, how he used that to his advantage to build his base. It…wasn't meant to end like this for him. He knew life was cruel and was about strength though he thought he wasn't weak. He had the plan setup, kill the bandit queen and kill the serpent while she was busy with Jinhza…he could've been a god! He wondered where it went wrong, what he could've done differently. He thought about the names that Zheng Jiang mentioned…what were their names? Lu Zheng and Gai Li? Who were they? What did they look like? That was it…if he had known about them and their connection to the queen he would've ordered to keep them alive. Damn it all. He killed the wrong people and found an ally that was not even for this world…what a cruel joke from the heavens indeed he thought to himself before his skull cracked wide open as he hit the ground.
Zheng Jiang watched the fall and as soon it was over she clutched the wound that was still bleeding and winced, being careful not to let out any form of weakness. Despite every step she took caused her pain she was satisfied. She was smiling. She did what she wanted to do, get vengeance on her sworn sisters. She grabbed her axes and started to make her way down. She thought Mitsuko would need help though one thing still echoed in her mind, words said from Zhang Yan. "We are the same." For some reason she couldn't stop hearing them as she stumbled across the hallway slowly.
Mitsuko blocked an attack from the trident as her feet was being scraped while being pushed back due to the immense strength of the anuran. Mitsuko smirked as she lowered her head and moved the crescent blade towards the centre prong and pushed the trident away to her left side as she ducked underneath while sprinting and hacked a slice of the amphibians thigh as she ran past. The amphibian groaned before they twisted around and plunged his trident down aiming at Mitsuko. Mitsuko quickly turned back, raising her scythe high and slashing a part of the amphibian's forearm underneath, causing a large wound and a puddle of blood stained the ground. The amphibian would try to grab the wound but quickly remember they can't, they couldn't do a damn thing about the wound. Mitsuko ran towards the amphibian and slashed across his torso again. The amphibian twisted its body before it crashed to the ground. Groaning in pain.
Mitsuko panted heavily, feeling the battle's length have an impact on her body despite her regenerative capabilities. She dropped to one knee with her remaining serpent arm placed on the ground to give her stability as she attempted to regain control of her breathing. Her heartbeat skyrocketed. It has been a good while since she was pushed to the brink like this, it made her feel…good. She was challenged and she conquered it. She smiled as she stood up, she looked at the severed serpent arm and grimaced. It only took up until now when the battle was effectively over that it hit her that she doesn't have a useable "hand" anymore. She scowled and blamed herself for being too careless with everything. Though she could swear she felt something squirming inside her, it was very faint and she was too busy feeling angry about the situation and her careless nature. She underestimated Jinhza.
Speaking of which she looked over and saw Jinhza stand back up, also heavily panting. He could barely wield his blade as he pointed it towards Mitsuko, his arm shaking heavily.
'Y-you will…not escape, Orochi.' Mitsuko could only smile sinisterly as he uttered those words.
'Escape from what? You? Tch, your arrogance is truly revolting. What makes you think I want to escape? We have claimed this city, your army is destroyed and you are on deaths door. What can you do against us now?'
'What…what I must.' He breathlessly responded as he stumbled his way closer to Mitsuko.
'Despite everything, you still want to fight and kill me? You must really hate me.'
'I do…with all my heart. You and your demons brought too much chaos. You think you're the first Orochi tried this with? No of course not! He did this way before you were even born but that was before the latest one. He killed our beloved emperor. Do you know what the mystic realm is like now without him!?' he exclaimed, losing his composure.
'Why should I? You and your people never bothered to say anything to me before, you just wanted my head.' Mitsuko responded bluntly, uncaring for his reasons.
'Our yellow emperor was the beacon for us gods, he sat upon the throne and ruled the mystic realm peacefully, he oversaw everything from new souls entering to banishment of the souls that were impure. Corrupted by their mortal lives.'
'And yet you couldn't be bothered to save them from themselves? Even worse than I thought.'
'You do not-'
'No it is you who does not understand. If you really cared about the souls of mortals you would've intervened, yet you play judge only at the end of their lives.'
'We need to let humans choose their own path!'
'By letting them believe and commit atrocities!? To discriminate? Pushing their greed to exuberant levels? If this really was something that happened then you should've stopped it if you really cared about them.'
'And you're saying you cared!? Look at the destruction and death you have cause so far in your time here in this land and time! You do not feel regret for those that you cut that stood in your way! Yet you lecture me on caring for mortals!? You are a hypocrite Orochi!' Jinhza yelled, his voice echoing throughout the main palace. Mitsuko was silent before she slowly walked towards him. She dragged her scythe across the floor by the neck of the crescent blade, only the steps and the scraping of metal could be heard as Jinhza took a step back as Mitsuko grinned, readying himself to get out of the way should she try something.
'The difference between us is I do not call myself a god and act like I care for all, because I do not care for all mortals. Some do not deserve life. You may say who am I to decide such a thing, I…am Mitsuko. Serpent empress of my new world. One where such vile, stupid hatred and discrimination will have no place, a place where everyone can understand each other, where we learn our differences maybe many but we share many of the same qualities, that they are not to be feared. Where corruption will not taint those with power to entice greed. A world where no one feels the need to end their suffering as they cry alone in darkness. Hehe, but I know all too well how stubborn people are, how people will fight against me because of their own ideals. Like you. You strive for your justice, while I strive for mine. Although, I cannot deny my bloodlust. You are correct, I enjoy their deaths it is true, however it is their choice to stand against me or not. It would be…insulting to them if I pleaded with them to change their morals and ethical stances because of a vision I have of my new world. I can ask but if they stand in my way, they sealed their fate. So I will fight and sacrifice them for my world if need be. For I now have strength, what I wanted all along and I will wield it to make my…no…our dream come true.' Mitsuko's voice started with bold declaration however when she was talking about her vision of a new world, her voice calmed, becoming more of a whisper though Jinhza was still able to hear her perfectly.
'You…you…cannot live! You say you can free this world of corruption and greed, Ha! A demon can do no such thing, you only want chaos to reign. I will not allow it to happen!' Jinhza screamed, his voice full of anger as he got into a battle ready stance, ready to charge. Mitsuko stopped in her tracks and her grin grew wider.
'Is that so? Well then, God. Let us finish this battle.' Mitsuko got into her stance. The main hall was deathly silent, Jinhza looked directly at Mitsuko who still wore that malicious grin on her face, deep down Jinhza is terrified but he knows his duty. A drop of sweat landed in a puddle before the two charged forward. Before the two blades would meet Mitsuko felt something sticky ouch her back and felt herself being pulled. Jinhza would swipe the blade aiming for her neck, however he would narrowly miss as she would be pulled by the tongue of the anuran. The anuran stood up before she was pulled fully and they swallowed Mitsuko before she could do anything about it. It all went so fast that Mitsuko couldn't even react to it. Jinhza reached out his arm towards the anuran.
'NO!' He shouted. The moon princess cannot claim the power of the yellow emperor, everything would collapse! Peace all around would be shattered. He was so close, so ever close to achieving his dream of peace to the mystic realm once again and finally ridding the realms of Orochi. He saw the anuran pick up their trident with their only hand.
'Oh yes, now that I have her, I will bring her to lady Change'e. You on the other hand do not deserve to see her glory as the veil breaks! I will kill you here and now.' The anuran hopped towards Jinhza with his trident and plunged it into the ground aiming for him.
Gyuki charged forward towards the two anurans who kept hopping away while he used his massive club to destroy the buildings and debris in his path he could not step on as he closed in on his prey. The two amphibians shared a glance at each other as before they split apart and circled around Gyuki, believing him to be sufficiently far enough away from his partner. Gyuki stopped for a moment trying to keep an eye on them. Were they trying to circle around and retreat the other way? He found them both leaping up towards him. He spun around with his club and his free hand extended on the spot as fast as he could, knocking away the two amphibians who crashed to the ground. He quickly rushed to one of them on the ground and smashed his club onto them, stepping and knocking any debris in his way. The amphibian managed to roll out of the way, as he did he extended his blade forward. Nicking a slice out of the ankle of the great devourer who winced slightly at this, however it did not deter him as he slammed his club onto the ground, causing a large amount of wind conjured up for a moment to make the amphibian fly away. The other Anuran hopped towards Gyuki in surprise however Gyuki caught it in its free hand and smashed it into the ground. A muffled groan could be heard as it was slammed. The free anuran landed on its legs as the wind cleared and unleashed a vomit projectile attack aiming for Gyuki. Gyuki swatted it away with his club, though a few droplets was splattered across his body.
The amphibian that was slammed and currently grabbed used the opportunity to stab Gyuki's wrist with his blade. Causing the giant to immediately let go and yell out in pain as he grabbed a hold of it instinctively, dropping the massive club. The amphibian managed to hop away and landed in front of Gyuki. As Gyuki tried to grab the club again the amphibian in front vomited at Gyuki instead, hitting him in the face. He roared as it blinded him, unable to see his enemies or his club as he stood up to try and wipe the sticky substance away.
'Gyuki!' Dodomeki cried out, looking behind as he heard Gyuki's roar, realising he was quite far away. He quickly kicked the amphibian and sprinted towards his position, however the amphibian hopped and landed on Dodomeki on his back, as his weight made him collapse to the ground. Dodomeki's legs were underneath the frog, he was trapped unable to assist Gyuki.
'You will watch your friend's demise!' The Anuran laughed at Dodomeki's struggles. Gyuki could be seen crashing to his knees once again as his legs were being sliced and prodded by the amphibian's weapons. Piercing and slashing through his demonic flesh. His hands were on the ground, leaving his body hovering in the air before one of the amphibians lashed out with its tongue and enveloped it around his right arm and pulled it, making him hit his face in the ground. The other amphibian hopped over to Gyuki and plunged his trident in his other arm. Gyuki roared in pain as the trident pinned his arm down, unable to move it. It pulled on one of Gyuki's tusks, making them lock eyes.
'Time to die.' It guffawed before glancing to the other anuran who threw him his sword. He put it to Gyuki's neck who was waiting for the inevitable. He didn't want it to end like this, he still had so much to contribute this cycle for lady Mitsuko. All of a sudden they all heard a mighty bestial roar, the amphibians turned around and Gyuki looked up see Gore-Roc, a demon he thought that he never seen before. The amphibians look up to each other before the one with the blade let go of Gyuki's tusk, allowing the strain on Gyuki's neck as it was being held up to cease.
'Look at what we have here, another one wants to meet their demise. This shouldn't take long.' The amphibian hopped in front of Gore-Roc who looked unimpressed by the large amphibian as it attempted to tower over the demon. The amphibian was annoyed at this apathetic display.
'Not much of a talker, eh? Then you won't need your head!' It exclaimed as they recoiled their sword to cleave through their neck. Gore-Roc was not one to wait for his demise. He lunged forward with his mouth open wide, shocking the amphibian before he chomped down on his wrist tightly as he threw the amphibian over his shoulder. It grabbed the arm while the amphibian was on the ground and tore the wrist off. It released a bloodcurdling scream while Gore-Roc kept a hold of the arm, preventing its escape. With its mighty great mace that in the other hand he smashed it into the skull of the Anuran, creating a bloody mess where its skull used to be. The other Anuran was frightened of the display. This gave the other two demons a chance to surprise their opponents. Dodomeki laughed before he punched a hole in the amphibians stomach, completely penetrating its hide. The amphibian was too shocked to do anything except let blood escape from its lips as it drips on top of Dodomeki's helmet as he sat up. The Anuran attempted to grab a hold of Dodomeki but the strength quickly waned as Dodomeki pushed the gauntlet deeper into it the body, as he used his other arm to try and push the anuran off him. The amphibian could only oblige as he felt his strength withering away. Dodomeki was able to push the anuran off as he rolled to his side. Dodomeki stood up, needing to catch his breath after the exhaustion of the battles as he limped over to the fallen anuran who could only watch. Dodomeki chuckled menacingly at him as the anuran's eyes locked with his golden eye.
'You should've been paying more attention to yourself.' Dodomeki stated before he used the gauntlet and punched him in the eye, completely penetrating it. The amphibian cried out in agony for a few seconds before the entire body went limp. Dodomeki withdrew the gauntlet, it was slathered in bright green blood that dripped onto the ground. The final anuran opened their eyes in fear and quickly unravelled its tongue around Gyuki's arm, hoping to make a getaway. However, Gyuki quickly grabbed a hold of the tongue. Making the amphibian fall backwards as it attempted to hop away. Gyuki raised his head and bit into the trident to pull it out with his teeth before he was able to stand up, with the amphibian struggling to break free from Gyuki's grasp, even with the slimy tongue, he kept a firm grasp. Gyuki spun the amphibian around his arm using his tongue until it completely wrapped around his wrist. As it completed its wrapping Gyuki lowered the amphibian as he opened his jaw wide. The anuran attempted everything it could to struggle and escape the maw of the great devourer, however it was unable to escape as Gyuki finally sunk his teeth into the amphibians body. It gurgled as blood filled its mouth before the body went limp as Gyuki tore off the bottom half of the body, chewing it, savouring the exotic taste of his enemy.
Jinhza found himself knocked to the ground as he rolled away with the large anuran towering over him. They arrogantly laughed as he raised his trident in above him.
'Now you die…mystic sc-gugh.' It was interrupted as it found it difficult to breathe as it gasped for air, not knowing what the problem was, though when it felt something sharp inside poking out, they immediately knew who it was. They tried to hold their throat to prevent her from escaping however Jinhza saw a tiny bit of metal poke out of the neck in between the amphibians slimy fingers. The Anuran gurgled as it dropped to its knees unable to stop what was about to happen. Jinhza used his blade to stand up on his two legs, unsure of what to make of the situation.
'N-no, th-this is…this wasn't-how it…was sguugh.' The anuran reared its head back only for the metal to protrude outwards which was Mitsuko's scythe. The carves her way through the neck of the anuran as it fell back, agonising on its failure as Mitsuko emerged from the neck covered in bright green blood from head to toe. Smoke emerged from the corpse and Mitsuko as she stepped out of the anuran as it released a final gurgle of life. Mitsuko heavily panted and took a couple of steps towards Jinhza who is only now showing just how terrified he really is of her. His entire core was rattled. This is Orochi, he could feel the malice and strength radiating off her as she walked towards him. He knew he must try to fight back yet…something within him said it was pointless…that she would win regardless. No that's not what a god is supposed to do he tells himself. Mitsuko sadistically smiled before she faltered and crashed backwards, landing on her back. Jinhza was stunned. Was this it? Was she done?
'Finally, now to finish the job.' He thought to himself as he slowly staggered his way to Mitsuko with his double-bladed weapon in hand. his dream of peace is so near he can almost taste the power to bring peace to the realm on the tip of his tongue. Where he can finally be rid of Orochi and the demons and make things the way they used to be. He looked upon Mitsuko's body and started to feel…pity for the woman. Pity as she was the host of Orochi, corrupted by his evil. Why she was different from the others inhabited by him he has no idea, all he knew is that she was the current host and must die. Though he…understood her frustrations but that was not his problem to bear. He placed his left food on Mitsuko's stomach and raised his blade above her neck.
'Goodbye…Orochi.' He stated before Mitsuko revealed a smirk. Confusing the mystic before he found himself falling back accompanied by an immense amount of agony below his knee. He crashed to the floor and cried out as he saw his leg severed next to Mitsuko with her crescent blade hovering over her with his fresh golden blood. He cried out as he began to crawl back as far as he could. Mitsuko stood up and chuckled.
'Did you really think it was that easy? ' Mitsuko started to walk slowly towards him. Jinhza crawled away while flailing his weapon around, unsure of what to do. He tried to ward her away by any means necessary. Mitsuko with one swipe cut the majority of the wrist off , leaving the hand of the blade while still slightly attached to the arm, the wound spurting out blood as Jinhza screamed while he began to shed tears for the first time while he crawled away frantically.
'Get away from me you freak!' He begged as he finally lost the last of his composure, he felt himself lost. Mitsuko stopped in her tracks, surprised by this, her eyes widened, uncertainty was present before she started to laugh maniacally.
'Haha…ahahahahaha! Is that it? Is that all a god can muster? A schoolgirl insult? I shouldn't be surprised yet here I am…amazed. Despite all your blunder, your arrogance, and your boasts of peace…you are just like all the other mortals. Fearful, hateful…and greedy. You didn't ally with these people because you wanted peace, you didn't sacrifice them to bring peace. You wanted power. Same as everyone else. You just thought because you were above others your motives were…pure. Even now when you're grovelling you still believe that you're superior, that you're better, more deserving than others. Yet you're just like the rest of them. You accuse me of hypocrisy yet you are the one that baited me into attacking tonight when your troops weren't ready. You were the one that declared their hatred of me, you were the one sat back judging mortals at the end of their lives saying you cared about them but only intervened when I did!'
'It-it was only…so…so peace could be restored to the mystic realm, please see that! I didn't want to hurt you.' Jinhza pleaded yet all Mitsuko could do but laugh harder.
'Is that why you declared your hatred for me so readily earlier, that you were willing to do whatever it took to slay me? Look at you, you played the part of an ignorant, arrogant god that thought himself above others, now look…when push comes to shove you are ready to grovel for your survival. You disgust me. You're more mortal than you believe. You stay back and judge those that aren't you, that aren't in your inner circle and you despise them for not being you. You act all superior but when someone challenges someone with an ounce of strength you crumble…because you're not strong. You make sure instead others are dragged down beneath you, oppressing them until they serve your whim! You were happy to let others feel the same until I got involved. I wonder…was this the reason why Orochi was such a pain for you all?'
'N-no, of course not…it's because of-' Jinhza started however he immediately stopped as he noticed the head of the serpent arm that he cut off was twitching violently with the end of it starting to form something, like something was trying to push out from the wound, it petrified him silent. He found himself unable to move. Like all feeling suddenly escaped yet he is fully aware of his surroundings.
'It…It can't be! Wh-what are you!?'
'Oh? I believe you called me many things haven't you and so have others. Monster, abomination, freak of nature, demon. Well, it doesn't matter because I don't care. I am my own individual. I…am Mitsuko and you…god are everything I despise about my former world. I am what you and they fear. I am awake enough to not believe the lies told to oppress me. I believe in myself and my abilities now and I will not allow people like you a chance to destroy what I will create! Now…suffer.' Mitsuko concluded as arm stopped twitching for a moment before suddenly erupted a new serpent head, splattering blood all across his body and his face. He was paralysed by fear to move as he saw the serpent slither and look into his eyes hungrily, the head covered in Mitsuko's blood stuck its forked tongue out and hissed before it opened his jaw wide. Jinhza felt like he was stuck in slow motion, his mind drifting back to his entire life, trying to find someway out of this…but here he lies. Bloodied and broken. How could this happen to him? He was a god! He was supposed to bring peace to the mystic realm! That power was rightfully his!
'W-wait…wait you're right. I was arrogant, I was fearful. I am ok! Please, let me go. I can talk to the others! Convince them to let you go and create this world of yours. We can even help you.'
'Look at yourself!' Mitsuko yelled, silencing Jinhza.
'Look at what you've been reduced to. You're nothing without your pride. You shouldn't even consider this, yet here you are. Begging, it must hurt you so to do it doesn't it? Yet mortals do it, I …did it. Now tell me this? Why would I trust you? You said you hated me and just tried to come after my head, now you say you can help me? No one does a 180 like that sincerely. You learnt nothing. You're saying what you want me to hear because you're desperate. You must feel so degraded, being resorted to such an action after being so high on the top. Good. Hold on to that feeling, because that is how others felt as they pleaded with you to help them…and how you ignored them. This pain is but a taste of what you inflicted upon others.' Mitsuko declared as the serpent quickly devoured. A loud scream was heard before it was quickly muffled inside the serpent's mouth who picked up Jinhza high in the air straight upwards, allowing it to swallow the mystic whole. The muffled screaming could still be heard however it was muffled echoes as he got deeper in the serpent before it was fully swallowed. Mitsuko looked at the newly emerged arm with the large bulge as the she heard the muffled cries, before she tensed the arm. Constricting the mystic inside of it tightly. The constricting forced the bulge in the serpent to show the shape of the mystic pressed against its stomach, silencing the mystic from the outside. However, this wasn't enough. She tensed the serpent more. Tightening it even more, channelling her hatred through it, putting as much strength as she could into it. The muffled scream could quickly be heard along with bones breaking, one by one. Slowly but surely the shape of the mystic began to dissolve, as the screams were replaced with churning and smushing. Some time had passed before Zheng Jiang opened the door and saw Mitsuko standing next to a giant dead frog with main hall absolutely destroyed. Mitsuko found she had no strength to give anymore she let loose the serpent as it vomited a yellow pile of flesh and broken bone. Zheng Jiang wasn't sure of what to make of this. She saw Mitsuko drop to her knees and rushed to aid her despite her wound. When she reached her, she found Mitsuko hyperventilating, gasping for air. She pulled her right serpent around her neck as she crouched down.
'Need a hand?'
'Ahh, Zheng Jiang…back so soon?' Mitsuko questioned.
'Yes, apologies for the delay. The coward ran all the way to the top.'
'Then it's done, isn't it? The black mountain bandits are no more and we have a new city.' Mitsuko declared as she was helped to her feet by Zheng Jiang, as she was lifted, she noticed the wound she suffered.
'You're wounded.'
'Heh, and you're not? But this…this is nothing. Not compared to the joy I feel as of this moment.' Zheng Jiang smiled at her. They both looked to the destroyed gate hearing shouts of applause and cheering in celebration.
'Looks like the battle was also won on the outside. You should give them a speech.' Zheng Jiang stated, making Mitsuko do a double take to her.
'Me? This your victory as well as mine. You were the one that led this assault.' Mitsuko wasn't sure what gotten into her. Zheng Jiang shook her head.
'You were the one that made me see how lost I was. It was you that won it for us this day. I doubt I could've killed those two.' She pointed to the remains of Jinhza and the anuran.
'Besides, as you pointed out I'm injured. I'm not in any state to give speeches. You though seem to be ok. Heh, don't worry I'll be right here.' Zheng Jiang promptly sat down on the ground. Mitsuko closed her eyes and smiled softly as she faced the open gate with the faintest glimmer of the sun peaking through the darkness.
'Very well. If that's how you want to play it.' Mitsuko replied as she walked up to the broken gate. She was greeted with many soldiers cheering as she emerged with their weapons held high. Mitsuko was able to spot a good few of her officers, especially Gyuki as he stood out and waved at Mitsuko, she could only chuckle at this display. Not just her soldiers either, zheng Jiangs also joined in on the celebration. She took a second to compose herself and breathe in. As she spoke she confidently spoke with authority with a commanding voice which carried its way to the rest of the city.
'Friends. We did it. We conquered this city, wiped out the black mountain bandits. These mountains are now ours! Though…it was not without sacrifice…especially because of these new…entities.' She paused for a moment, allowing everyone to take in the information and realisation of the new enemies that they had killed…and the lives and devastation they caused. Meanwhile Dodomeki went to where he left LingQi, hearing Mitsuko's speech quite far away but getting quitter. As he approached he saw LingQi and Luna opposite each other. He quickly rushed to LingQi's side and crouched next to her. He felt her wrist to get a pulse and was relieved to find one, faint but still there. He found her started to wake before he made her sit up. She groaned as she did.
'Urgh, Dodomeki? What happened?'
'You don't remember?' He asked, LingQi shook her head.
'Not at the moment, I remember fighting but then I blacked out.' She put her hand to her head quickly as she felt a sharp headache quickly coming to her. She winced at this.
'Easy now, from the looks of things you had a pretty awesome fight but we won the battle. No need to remember everything quickly. Besides, you're missing lady Mitsuko's victory speech.' LingQi felt herself more relieved as she heard that.
'Victory speech? So…we won…she's alright. Ahh thank goodness. Wait? Why are you helping me?' LingQi questioned, not used to this level of kindness from Dodomeki.
'I…I just wanted to make sure you didn't need any additional help. From the look of things, you handled her well enough anyway. Besides I'm here now, it'd be rude to not help you up. Come on, I don't want lady Mitsuko to scold me because she couldn't find you.' Dodomeki stood up, helping LingQi to her feet and started to make her way to the main palace. They were slow because of the wounds they took but they made their way as fast as they could anyway. When they were far enough Luna began to wake up and spotted the two of them walking away from her. Her mind now free of that beserk like rage she was in, she was unsure what happened but…she thought it'd be interesting to sneak behind them…maybe see if Mitsuko is alive. Heh, there's a chance she could go in for the kill…how interesting would that be she wondered to herself as she struggled to get up, remembering the damage she sustained from her duel. She would stumble across behind them at a distance, to ensure they couldn't hear her footsteps.
'However!' She started again.
'They were not able to stop us! At the city of Yemen so called gods tried to slay us there. You probably recognised them as they wore colours that stood out along with their abomination. The flames they created to stop us at the forest to get here? They were nothing. These large frogs, toads…or whatever they are? Yes they towered us and were stronger but look! We are alive! They are not! Your blood remains in your body, beating in your heart!' Mitsuko beated her chest as she started to pace back left to right outside of the gate, feeling the adrenaline once again. Dodomeki and LingQi managed to find a spot leaning against one of the intact buildings, listening to the speech as Luna slowly encroached them. LingQi was too enamoured by Mitsuko to notice, looking at the woman she became from the first time she met her…she felt proud of her. Luna looked to Mitsuko…and find herself…mesmerised for some reason. She couldn't take her eyes off her, suddenly the thought of killing her washed away as she listened intently to her words.
'Theirs is not! We are the victors of this battle! We have conquered this city. We have conquered the mountains! When we work together, no human, no amphibian, no GOD can defeat us! Their arrogance led them to this defeat, they thought themselves as superior to you, to me, to all your comrades and loved ones! They thought themselves untouchable, you proved today they are not! The so called leaders of the Han are the same! Corrupt, greedy and hate-filled, should people like that lead our land!?'
'NO!' yelled everyone in complete unison. Suddenly felt the glare of the emerging red sun hitting her face, a new dawn has arrived as it bestowed light upon her. All the soldiers, even the remaining citizens looked to Mitsuko, enamoured by her speech. Mitsuko grinned.
'Ahh, there it is my friends. A new age…a new dawn is upon us! I know I've said this before, but it bears repeating. I saw what the world was like many years after this day. It is horrendous! Nothing had changed, the lesson was not learned. Corruption and greed ruled with tyranny along with lies and deceit! I will not let that world be born! A new age is upon us all, this world is cannot heal unless the corruption has been dealt with. I will not lie, to do so I think…we will need to destroy the world we know. We would enter into a new age of uncertainty, no longer able to hide behind the comfort of tradition or finding solace of the pillars of old.'
'But I will still do it! I will do it because I believe in myself, I believe with everyone standing beside me that I can make a new world come to fruition. I believe together, we are unstoppable! I will set this world ablaze! And reforge a new one, a new world where everyone can be happy, where corruption does not rule! A world where we would be able to achieve anything we wanted! A world where we can be ourselves and still strive to be better! My world will not tolerate the scum of these so-called gods and the leaders of our land for they brought us nothing but misery and hatred! I want to have a world of co-operation and unison, not separation by their fear or selfishness! Although…as powerful as I am…I don't have the strength to do that alone. And I cannot lie, it will be a long road, sacrifices will need to be made, I cannot guarantee you will survive to see it. I am sure we'll face many more of these…anuran, these mystics or whatever else can come our way. So I will not order you to die for my dream. Although, I will ask…who amongst you will lend me their strength!? To usher in a new age!?' Mitsuko extended her serpent arms out to both sides, unsure what the response would be, everything she said was more instinct than anything. She's still pleasantly surprised by seemingly everyone cheered in response, that they would indeed follow her dream, including those of the Tai dominion and some of the citizens of the city. She smiled softly.
'Thank you, my friends, I would not be here without you all, the road will be long, though I am confident we will overcome all challenges…but enough about that. This is now a time for celebration for we have earned it!' She declared, they all cheered in response. To Mitsuko it was euphoric, like the celebrations were a melodic chorus of approval. Zheng Jiang witnessed all this and smiled brightly at the serpent, happy for her to give a speech that effective, she couldn't do that…not now. Even though she was happy for her and the fact they all won and the celebrations are happening. Zheng Jiang deep down couldn't hide the fact as she looked at Mitsuko, a small pain panged in her heart as she looked upon her while she couldn't stop herself clutching and tensing her arms in anger. Luna witnessed this speech and listened and…never really heard anything like it. The red sun basked in Mitsuko's glory this day. As she listened, she felt her blood boil, yet at the end was…motivated? It was an odd feeling to be sure. But she thought this must be the reason why Orochi was able to do as much as he could do in the previous cycles. After hearing that, it was hard to disagree.
'A new world you say? A world without mystic gods and selfish leaders? Where we can all believe in ourselves? Heh…hahaha. That sounds…rather interesting to see.' Luna looked at the two in front, cheering for Oro…no Mitsuko was her name right? She cleared her throat to make her presence known to them. LingQi and Dodomeki turned around. LingQi immediately tried to go after her, believing she would go against them though Dodomeki contained her. Saying her wounds are still recovering. It was amusing to watch them squabble as Luna held out her weapon which transformed into her blade once again. They both got into a battle stance with Dodomeki keeping a hold of LingQi, positioning himself between the two. Luna dropped the blade as she whispered the words, she never thought she would say. Surprising the other two so much they are stunned. She smiled with her iron teeth still present giving an eerie grin on her face. She felt strangely…relieved.
'I surrender.'
A/n: Oh man that was a damn chapter to write. First off a severe apologies to everyone for waiting this long, it wasn't my intention at all to be on a hiatus at all never mind for this long. But to cut a long story short. After I wrote the last chapter I didn't even think about this for about 3 months and I believe the reason for this is because I was burnt out on this. I put myself through quite a bit of stress which also included my personal and work life and my brain was like 'nah lets leave it' so I did and I didn't think about until one day and I was like 'SHIT I GOTTA WRITE SOMETHING' which didn't quite work out because it was 3 months I thought to myself I should write a longer chapter. It didn't help that when I asked people I actually know to look at it…they didn't which…annoyed me and gave me the impression that not many people will care, so that didn't help. And then this was around the time my job got relatively shit because my management revealed their horrendous attitude which was demotivating to say the least. But I kept saying to myself 'I'll make it a bit longer' to make up the wait I put you guys through…and then it became longer…and longer…and longer…then it turned out to be over 21k words which…wasn't my intention at first but I am proud I got this done and to the quality that I do strive for in my work. I'm expecting there to be rust, I felt it as I was writing the fight scenes, so you may see this a day or two after I wrote it just so I have chance to edit it and everything. Even then I expect there will be stuff I could've polished up on however I still feel proud of it. Because I was focused on this for a good while and felt guilty in not providing this to you I couldn't get any other work done even my personal ones. However this isn't meant to be an excuse for the situation. So moving forward, I think what I may do is because there isn't rest for the wicked I was thinking of having another literature fanfiction to make sure that if I get in a rut like this one I can still provide readers with content. So I was thinking of doing a star wars one.
I know I said about potentially doing some Warhammer stuff and I may do that still but I want to focus on my actual models first and I like having a bit of variety. I was considering doing an alternate timeline where during the Mandalorian we would see an emergence of the CIS under new leadership. It was the setting for my SW5e campaign that I was DMing but we're doing a fantasy one on that day now for the moment and have been doing that for a while so it would be good to continue that setting and share with those that are interested. I don't forsee this as causing too much of an issue to the upload schedule of this fanfic but there is that variety and I think that would help me creatively and productively. Do let me know what you think about that and this chapter. Thank you for reading, severe apologies once again I will endeavour sure you don't have to wait this long for a chapter again. However thanks for reading and I will see you next chapter, sayonara.
