Chapter 6: A busy busy day
A new day dawns and it is now busy with people walking around to head for any shops as others want to sit outside a restaurant for lunch. But its not super busy at the baker as Stolas sat behind the table. Not only is he taking over while Millie was in the living room, but he was also waiting for his next customer to call him as he heard a motorbike coming outside as he perked up…but the driver was only picking up his girlfriend as he huffed "Boring" he said as Moria walked in to check up on him as he used his shadows to stretch up and poked his cheek "Wake up you're supposed to be minding the store" said Moria as Stolas brushed it off "I am but today this place is boring!" Said Stolas as it was to quiet and still "But it always get busy about this time" said Morai "I know that but that's not what I'm talking about I'm talking about my customers Moria if nobody comes in I'm gonna have to eat pancakes forever and be fat, fat fat! And then what am I gonna do about that?" He said as Moria hummed "Well I like pancakes provided they are not burned" he said as Stolas gave a look and poked his tummy.
"Look spooky when you get fatter and rounder like a pancake you see if I care" he said but gasped seeing walking buy as he waved at him as Stolas waved back "He's nice isnt he? They tell me that he is rich but generous" said Stolas as Moria humphed "He maybe rich but that chibi is still a snob" he said referring to Peronia as suddenly the phone rang as Stolas grabbed it and answered it hoping it was a customer "Hello Wrath wring bakery…what? Pardon? Uh yes sir *looks at Moria as he smiled* about time we got a customer huh?" He said winking as he got out his notebook "Lets see yes sir 4:30 will be a perfect time to pick it up if you just…" Stolas continued "And the dress? Yes ok the blue roof right" he said as Morai crossed his arms frowning as they didnt realize that Blitzo was peaking out the window. "Yeah I'm pretty sure I have it all and thank you very much sir" Stolas finished when he heard the door opening as he gasped to see if the next person is his next customer…but frowned seeing it was just Blitzo coming in "Hi" said Blitzo as Stolas glared and just ignored him as he checked on a map for his destination as Moria left "I'll take this please okay?" Asked Blitzo pulling out a nickel and a small bread out of the basket as Stolas took it and placed it in the cash register and got out the change "Thank you very much and have a nice day" he said cooly.
"Oh come on you're still not mad at me are you? Listen we're gonna have a huge party at a club tonight, its called the Aviation club and we'd really like for you to come *Pulls out a envalope* Here's your invitation" said Blitzo as Stolas studied it as it said ' Witch' on it "Its a serious club for kids who are into flying aircrafts and stuff and you know, everybody will be really excited if you came, you can even bring your broom as well" said Blitzo but before Stolas could answer a Demi-angel hellhound named Bruno (Encantico) entered holding a package "Yes can I help you?" Asked Stolas "My family told me that you have a delivery service?" Asked Bruno "Oh I'm sorry, yes of course we can handle it" said Stolas "Thank you it is very urgent this package arrive ASAP" he said "That is no problem sir" said Stolas he took the package and placed it on the weight scale as he checked it and went back to do the final checking "Well I hope you make up your mind by six, because thats when I'll come by to pick you up, see ya" said Blitzo as Stolas wanted to stop him but his buisness comes first.
"How much will it be?" Asked Bruno "Will this be inside or outside the city limits as Bruno pointed to the package "My mother wrote the adress on the box" said Bruno as Stolas got a bit flustered "Oh! Oh the box sorry" said Stolas a bit stumbled. Meanwhile in the living room Millie was knitting some baby clotshs for her and Moxxie baby "Millie! Millie! I got a big big problem!" Yelled Stolas as he rushed in as he showed the invitation "I got an invitation to a party at Blitzos flying club "I'm sure it will be a great party Stolas" said Millie "no my problem is what should I wear for the party?" Asked Stolas worried about his outfit "Stolas you haven't got a problem you look fine with that, besides it makes you look handsome and mysterious" said Millie as Stolas was surprised "Really?" He pondered
"How's work?" Asked Millie as she changed the subject as Stolas gasped "I almost forgot about that! Its already 4 oh no" he yelled running off as he stoped to look at Millie may you watch the store until I get back?" He asked as Millie chuckled happy to see Stolas is busy.
Stolas took off on his broom with Moria to deliver the package for Brunos mother "You were mad at that Imp I dont know why your going to his party" said Moria remembering how Stolas was mad at him when they met "Please don't talk I am trying to fly okay?" Said Stolas. Luckily it didnt take to long to arrive at the destination as with a grunt due to the slight climb as he delivered it "Thank you very much, come on Mora" he said as he flew off to his next destination "We cant keep our next appointment waiting* said Stolas as he saw the blue roof "There it is the blue roof" he said as he flew lower to it as he lands on the front door as he knocked on the door. It soon opened revealing a humanoid named Boxman who looked like a chubby chimera "My name is Stolas and someone telephoned for a delivery service so here I am" said Stolas with a bit of a bow "Right this way, you came just in time" said Boxman as he took him inside "Thank you" said Stolas as he and Mora stepped in "Hay Venomus the delivery boy is here" he said as they entered the kitchen showing a humanoid male with purple scales dotting dressed in a lab coat as he was working to get the oven turned on as he hummed as he turned around "oh my delivery time already? Come on in now young one make yourself at home" he said as Boxman gently nudged the owl to go in "Go on in now" he said "Thanks" said Stolas "May I take your broom for you?" Asked Boxman "Sure here you go" said Stolas as Boxman took it oooing as Venomus looked at Moria "And a little shadow being just as my great grandmother told me" he said "The same that my great grandpapa told me as a lad" said Boxman "My name is Stolas and I am a witch" he said greeting Venomus.
"My you are really polite your parents raised you well, but anyway I must apologize but the special treat you were supposed to deliver isnt ready yet *Tries to turn on the oven as Boxman left the room with the broom* I think there is something wrong with it, its got a mind of its own and it dosent want to heat up" he said as Stolas looked at the dish with a pot pie in it with cute little fish markings. "Its old as this house and has seen better days, I was hoping you'd be able to deliver it to my Step daughters birthday party today, its my specialty herring and pumpkin pot pie, but I must admit defeat, I'll have to call Carol and tell her to tell Diana I am sorry, I just feel embarrassed for having to have you come here empty handed, Boxman *Shows Boxman trying to ride the broom but it wouldn't work* would you mind getting Stolas his money?" He asked seeing his husband trying to fly "Boxman" he said as the chimera rubbed the back of his head "Sorry" he said as he went to get his money box "Sorry about that my husband loves arial stuff" he said "Its ok, and you dont have to pay me I cant accept such a thing" he said politely "Please accept it its my fault that my pot pie wasnt cooked in time before you came" said Venomus "Yes I know but…" he started as he hummed and saw another oven, a wood burning one as he smiled getting an idea "I have an idea, since I dont have any other jobs maybe I can help how about we use that old oven over there?" He asked as Venomus hummed "Well perhaps, it used to bake very good bread but neither me or Boxman baked in it lately" he said
"Well if it burns firewood, I can help you" Stolas suggested "I used to help my mama Bella bake all the time" said Stolas "But it takes hard work to build a fire" said Venomus "I say its a good idea Venomus, that electric one is a piece of junk I can make better I agree that the kids plan is perfect" said Boxman "Sire it will work really" he said as Venomus smiled "Alright then lets give it a try" said Venomus. Minutes later Stolas rushed outside to the shed to get some firewood as much as he can carry as Moria watched "Dont blame me if you're late for your party" he said "I cant just take the money and not help out" he said walking back to get some more wood and returned back inside. He then placed the wood into the oven and light up a match as the lovers watched "You are a very smart young man, your mother must be proud" said Boxman as Stolas tossed the match into the pile of wood as they watch the fire forming to burn the wood in order for the oven to heat up. As the fire kept burning Stolas rolled up his sleeves and used a fire poker to poke some of the wood as he wiped off the sweat from his forehead at how hot it is as Moria stayed away "It should be about time, alright the fire is almost ready" said Venomus as Stolas nodded as Boxman hands him the dish as Stolas placed it in the oven as he closed the door for it to do the work. "Now we need to wait until its done cooking" said Venomus.
"You think forty minutes will be about right?" Asked Stolas as he removed the oven mittens "Yes so why dont we take a break as it cooks" said Venomus "Can I help around the house while the pie bakes?" Asked Stolas "Well that is really nice of you we appreciate it" said Boxmore as Morai and Stolas looked at the clock to see what time, they have only an hour left in hopes to get back and ready for the party.
Minutes later Boxman held the ladder sturdy as Stolas changed some new lightbulbs to pass the time "There we go" said Stolas "Your never gonna make the party on time" said Moria as Stolas put the bulb into his mouth "Stop worrying it'll only take me fifteen minutes if I fly fast" he said as Moria gave the owl a fresh one "Would you like some hot tea?" Asked Venomus as Stolas nodded yes as they both sat by the table to enjoy some tea as Boxman brought a box of baskets as Stolas explained about the party he has to go in an hour and that he had plenty of time for the pie to bake and be delivered as Venomus gasped in realization "Wait what time did you say the time of your party was?" Asked Venomus "Its at six but its only fifteen minutes away" said Stolas looking at the clock "Oh that clock of ours runs about ten minutes slow!" Said Venomus as Stolas panicked "Oh no I'm gonna be late" he yelled in a panic "Check the pie to see if tis ready" said Venomus as Stolas rushed to the oven "Boxman help we need you! We need to move quick! Stolas is running late for the party" he said as Stolas opens the door and pulls the dish out as he shows it to Venomus "Is the pie ready?" He asked as Venomus studied it "It looks fine, now you better hurry" he said as Stolas nodded as Boxman got a basket as Stolas gently put it in the basket as Venomus put the lid over it to keep it hot as Boxman ruined to open the door "Were ready lets go" he said as Stolas nodded "Okay" he said as Venomus stopped him as he placed the money in his hand "Let me pay you for your time" said Venomous surprising Stolas "But that's too much money" he said surprise as Venomus gently smiled "Not for all the help you did" he said as Stolas nodded and runs off "have a good time now and fly carefully" said Venomous as Stolas mounted his broomstick and flew off as he held the basket.
However he didnt know that there are dark clouds on the sky knowing it was about to rain "WE can beat the rain if we just fly a bit faster" said Stolas "Not according to my skin" said Moria as he felt his shadows all tingly as they flew as fast as they could but it already y began to rain and downpour as most people took cover under the roof as Venomus and Boxman all watched in hopes that Stolas can make it Stolas had to use his cloak to cover the basket up to keep it dray "Could we get out of the rain please? I'm begging you!" Yelled Moria "We cant stop that will make us even later and the food will get cold" said Stolas as he focused hard on his next destination.
Meanwhile Blitzo wore a nice suit for the party and held a umbrella to keep dry as he walked to the bakery to pick up Stolas as he entered and asked Moxxie and Millie if he's around but they shook his head as Blitzo ran under the roof to wait for him to return as he checked his watch showing that it was six…
Soon Stolas arrived at the house to deliver the pot pie as he (With Moria holding onto his shirt as they rushed under the entrance as he placed the basket on the ground to remove his cloak as he ringed the doorbell as he checked the dish, luckily it was still dry and hot as he sighed in relief that its fine as he heard the door opened as he was greeted by K.O, a dog like sinner "Yes can I help you?" He asked "I have a delivery" said Stolas as he showed him the basket as KO smiled "Ah awsome Papa Venomus makes amazing pot pies and Diana will be happy to get this, though it looks wet" said KO "I am sorry but it was raining along the way but I am glad that it got through" said Stolas as KO took the basket "Will you please sign this receipt for me?" Asked Stolas as he pulled out his notebook and pen as KO did so "You better hurry home before you get sick ok? You better not go anywhere with your wet cloths thank you again for the delivery" said gently closing the door as Stolas stood there with his thoughts "I am really surprised they are related" said Morai as Stolas flew off but this time slower as Stolas thought about what KO frowning but not in a rude way "Maybe we still have time said Moria, but Stolas was just quiet.
Back at the bakery Blitzo checked his watch and saw that five minutes have passed as he sighed as Moxxie opened the door to see if if Stolas came back but the younger imp saw that Stolas wasnt coming and decided to leave. Back with Stolas Moria noticed him "Stolas look there he is, come on we can catch him" said Moria but Stolas just ignores him.
Millie looks outside and saw Stolas walking back to the attic as she opens the window "Stolas we were so worried about you, and that poor boy waited such a long time" she said "It dosent matter anyway, I cant go with these wet cloths" said Stolas storming up the stairs to the attic worrying Millie.
Stolas had already changed into his dry pajamas and had hung up his wet cloths as he covered himself in his covers as Moria was worried "Stolas what's wrong?" Asked Moria worried for the Owl "Are you not feeling well? Maybe you should eat something okay?" Asked Moria as Stolas just coughed a bit and pointed to a piece of bred on the table for the chibi as said Chibi was worried as he hopped onto the Table and ate the bred watching his partner who was not feeling well, not just from being wet, but also from something else as well…
Authors note: poor fella he has done his deliveries well but missed out on hanging out with Blitzo.
Next chapter after recovering Stolas visits Blitzo and his club to apologize and starts to bond with him.
