Wind blew in their faces as they drove along the path back to the settlement Richard was at. He knew that work would be available and he'd actually get paid fairly for his service, unlike Tukson. Blake talked to him every so often, but her attention was mainly on the scenery. Her eyes lit up in delight when she saw the open fields decorated with wild flowers and the vast mountains in the distance. The birds in the sky made her look up and smile when they dove into the trees towards their nests, possibly with food or a twig for their home.
While she was admiring the frontier and all it's beautiful glory; he was thinking about what he should do next. He really didn't anticipate her coming along with him and it complicated things. Now he had to worry about extra luggage, making sure both of them were fed and had clothes, to even making sure they got paid evenly when a job came up. So much to worry about now, and that's not including a way to get back home. There was so much on his mind that time seemed to fly by quickly in his eyes.
The day slipped away and he continued to drive for the next several hours, not even bothering to stop half the time. One of the only reasons he stopped was when he noticed that he was swerving on the path and that she was leaning against his back, arms wrapped around him tightly and her head to the side. The bike slowed down and he stopped in the middle of the road, turning the key and was thrown into silence. He heard snoring and sighed a bit before starting the bike back up, driving for another hour and a half before finding a small open area.
He parked the motorcycle and tapped her forearms a few times. She snapped awake and looked around before rubbing the back of her neck in embarrassment and climbing off the bike. The two of them stretched a bit before getting their sleeping bags and rolling them out. She sat nearby and watched as he collected some materials to start a fire, scooting closer to him when he started to get it going. He showed her the necessary steps and made sure she was paying attention just in case he wasn't there.
A small flame ignited and slowly grew in size as several seconds passed by. Pretty soon the area around them started to illuminate in a orangish color and the two just lied near the fire, staring up at the sky. The countless stars that littered it drew their eyes and they saw the occasional shooting star. It was quiet and the cool air made them relaxed somewhat. This peaceful atmosphere made both of them either smile a bit.
"I got a question." He said.
"Alright." She looked at him.
"So like, when Faunus have kids, do they have multiple kids like an actual animal?" He asked while chewing on a snack. She blinked before covering her mouth and snorting a bit. He looked at her when she started to laugh.
"What? No." She covered her mouth and laughed.
"I was just curious." He shrugged.
"No, no we don't. It's like humans, the most we can have is triplets, but that's rare." She clarified.
"Gotcha." He nodded in understanding.
"What brought that up?" She asked.
"I don't know. Was just curious." He shrugged again.
"Well, now you know." She smiled.
"Mhmm." He hummed before going silent. They stared at the sky again and he started to wonder about the broken moon. There was a beep next to him and he looked at Hal, before gesturing for the bot to go onto the ground. The sound of clicking was heard as he tinkered with Hal. It was a routine at this point. Making sure everything was in working order with the bot.
"Hey, Walker." She called out.
"Yeah?" He asked.
"Why do you tinker with Hal so much?" She asked.
"Oh... uh... it's just something I like to do. It helps me relax and it's just something to pass the time." He rubbed the back of his neck.
"That's pretty cool." She said.
"Thanks." He responded before going back to tinkering. There really wasn't anything to say because people often found it irritating when he did that. The constant sound of toying with machinery or electronics was an ear sore to some, but it was like music to him. A soft lullaby if he dared call it that. Just something to take his mind off some things. Silence was good in some occasions, but just utter silence was suffocating. Sitting still wasn't an option for him.
She fished in her bag and started counting her lien before setting a certain bit aside. He glanced over and couldn't help but comment on it.
"You know, Tukson didn't pay me that much." He said.
"He didn't?" She asked.
"No, I only got paid two hundred." He said, holding up a stack that she saw was given to him.
"He told me he paid you nine hundred like me." She scratched her head.
"Nope, only got paid two hundred for two weeks of work." He shook his head. She pressed her lips into a fine line before taking a bit of hers and putting it next to him. He looked up at her and then at the stack of lien.
"It's not fair that I'm paid more when we did the same amount of work." She shook her head and sat down next to him. He was about to deny it before he sighed when he saw her face. He took the lien and gestured with it before nodding in appreciation. It was nice to see that she had some semblance of respect and fairness in her heart. Next time they did a job together, he'd split the funds evenly.
They eased their way into a comfortable conversation for a while before they went to their own sleeping bags and fell asleep shortly after. Nothing decided to try and attack them that night and that was a plus in his eyes.
A thick fog covered the road ahead as they drove on the path. She had her flat cap on to cover her cat ears and some headphones on to listen to some music. Usually when they were on the road, she listened to music in order to pass the time. He was content with just letting his thoughts run for the next couple of hours. They were getting closer to the settlement and should arrive within the next few hours. It would be half past one when they arrived and he was glad that they left early.
Both of them had to stop for a bathroom break and ate for a minute before going back on the road. He just let his thoughts run for a minute. One of the first things he needed was to increase his firepower, the Dust rounds he was using were kind of awful. He purchased some concentrated Dust rounds that exploded once they penetrated the target. They worked just as good as the ammunition from Sera, but they were expensive and he needed to find a way to make them himself. It was what he had loaded in his Lancer right now and he was going to find a way to create it himself.
One of the first things he needed was a lot more money, the next was a place to stay, the third was materials, and the final thing was manpower. None of those things were going to come easy and he needed to carefully think it through on how to get it. He wasn't going to join Beacon, if the situation called for it, he'd do a favor for them but never swear loyalty to them. Really the COG was the only organization he was loyal to, even with their... mistakes in the past. There were times when he questioned who thought those deeds were a good idea.
He read about the Birthing Creches and he was disgusted, it was something that wasn't meant for him to see. His curiosity got the better of him and he went snooping around one day. It horrified him and the first thing he did was put the documents back where he found them and burn them. He wasn't stupid and he knew the rest of Dead-Echo knew. Not a single one said anything as he vented his anger on them, which wasn't fair to them, but they knew he was more disgusted with Prescott and his actions. He knew why his dad never liked the man.
Without realizing it, he started to speed up the more he got caught up in his thoughts. Flashes of Sera clouded his vision and he was starting to reach the maximum speed of the bike. Blake's eyes started to widen little by little until they reached the max speed and she had to tug on him several times to shake him out of his stupor. He slowed down when he saw how fast they were going and blinked several times then shook his head. That was one of his biggest problems, getting so caught up in his thoughts that he just let go of reality at certain times.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"Yeah... just got caught up in my thoughts, that's all." He rubbed the back of his neck.
"Alright. Just try not to go too fast, okay? I don't have a helmet." She said.
"Right, sorry." He apologized and kept going. The two of them drove for a little while longer before the settlement was in view. He slowed down when they arrived at the gate and the guards checked him, recognizing him as the one who helped Richard. Once the inspection was good, they let him in and closed the gates shortly after. He drove on the road and waved to a few people that recognized him before turning on a few corners.
Blake looked around and saw that a majority of the settlement was Faunus, making her relax a bit. She took her flat cap off and wiggled her cat ears before following him when he parked the bike near a house. He looked around before spotting Richard's wife on the front porch like last time. She recognized him and gave a friendly wave while he did the same. The toddler recognized him as well and gave him an excited smile and a wave.
"HI!" The toddler waved.
"Hey." Walker waved back.
"Are you looking for Richard?" Katrina asked.
"Yeah, is he in?" He asked.
"He's in the garage." She said.
"Thanks." He nodded before heading towards the back with Blake, after she introduced herself. The sound of music was heard and the two walked closer, noticing the man working on his personal truck. He let out a small curse when something fell then his rabbit ears flicked at the sound of a stick breaking. His head darted up and he whirled around, holding his hand to his chest in relief when he saw it was just Walker.
"Jeez, kid. Scaring me like that." Richard laughed.
"Not what I was going for." Walker responded.
"It took a while getting here, huh? How's the bike riding?" Richard asked, turning the music off before leaning on the workbench.
"It rides alright, can't say too much considering it is kind of old." Walker commented.
"It's old, but it's gold." Richard said.
"That's a keeper." Walker said.
"I'll need some sort of payment for it." Richard responded. Walker just shook his head before going to retrieve the bike, leaving Blake with Richard.
"Sorry for not introducing myself earlier, I'm Richard Scarlatina." He wiped his hand and stuck it out.
"Blake Belladonna." She greeted, gripping his hand firmly before shaking.
"Firm handshake, I respect that." He said.
"That's something my dad taught me." She said, twisting her body and stretching a bit.
"Sounds like a good man. So Ms. Belladonna, what are you doing with Walker?" He asked, picking up a socket wrench and tossing it in between his hands.
"I don't really know. He took me to Beacon but..." She trailed off.
"You didn't get in?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah... how'd you know?" She asked.
"My daughter almost didn't get in last year. It's not uncommon for Faunus to be denied." He sighed.
"I was denied in front of a lot of people too." She sighed dejectedly.
"I'm sorry to hear that kid. I really am." He apologized.
"It's alright. I just have to find something else to do." She shrugged.
"Well, best of luck to you." He nodded.
"Thanks. How do you know Walker?" She asked.
"The kid? He was my bodyguard for a delivery. I wasn't getting the full payment for my past few deliveries until the kid came. Scared the fat man stiff and made him fork over the required amount. From then on, the fatty paid me the full amount because he's scared of the kid." He said.
"That's awfully nice of him." She said.
"I think he was just doing his job. Racism probably isn't the first thing on his mind." He waved.
"Because it isn't. It's a stupid concept developed by people who can't get over their personal issues." Walker said as he rolled the bike towards the garage. The three of them talked in the garage for a while, simply maintaining the bike and enhancing it a bit. After a few hours, they decided to depart and the two rented a hotel room. Just another day, but he still wasn't any closer to getting home.
Walker sat in the passenger seat looking at his scroll. His thumb swiped up several times scrolling through the information. Each word was carefully logged in his brain and he sighed at some of the unnecessary information. He decided to go through with the security force, slowly building up power without drawing too much attention. Granted, he still had to go through some legal processes, but it wasn't anything too difficult.
He'd just lie and say that he grew up in Vacuo, say that his documentation was destroyed in a raid. He just hoped nobody really looked too into it since he really didn't feel like spinning a whole spiderweb of lies. All he could do was sigh when he decided to find some loopholes in order to kick everything off. The next thing he would need was a place to call it home and supplies.
"What are you guys doing for lunch?" He asked. Richard glanced at him from the driver's seat while Blake looked up from her book in the back.
"I'm good, Katrina made something for me." Richard asked.
"I was thinking of picking something up in the next settlement. " She said.
"Alright." Walker nodded before going back to scrolling. He looked at a page and copied the information to the clipboard before giving the number a call. The windows were rolled up as the other two looked at him when they heard the scroll ring.
"Hello?" A voice on the other end was heard.
"Good afternoon, ma'am, how are you today?" He asked politely.
"I'm doing quite well today, what can I help you with?" She asked.
"I was was curious about obtaining a security license. Your site said something was possible should I meet with you all?" He asked.
"That's correct, sir. If you would like to have your license, you'll need to bring several forms of documentation. Your birth certificate, driver's license, past documentation of employment, and two additional documents." She said.
"Alright, here's the catch... a majority of my documentation was destroyed a raid a couple of years ago. I haven't exactly managed to retrieve them or get copies." He lied easily. It was too easy in his opinion, and he hated manipulating people.
"Okay... that's a bit of a problem. What kingdom were you originally from?" She asked.
"Vacuo." He answered.
"Ah, well, we do have some exception with people from Vacuo. Raids like that are common and we've often had to deal with cases such as these. It will cost more though, and we'll have to gather your information." She said.
"Alright, and how much do you think that'll cost?" He asked, rubbing his neck a couple of times.
"A thousand lien for the information and four thousand for the set up process." She said. He winced at the price and looked at his lien, he was three thousand short for the whole thing.
"Yikes... that's going to be a while." He commented.
"Yes, sir, setting up a security firm for the council is usually a steep price. Although... if I'm being honest sir, it's not worth it. Once you sign that contract, they'll have complete control over you." She whispered the last part quietly.
"Ah... I'll keep that in mind. Thank you." He thanked sincerely.
"You're welcome, have a nice day, sir." She said before hanging up.
"Well, that's out the door." He sighed before pocketing his scroll and bringing out his knife. Believe it or not, one of his favorite knives was a UIR knife that he stole off one of them. It was probably his first non-Locust kill and he took their knife as a trophy. At first, he felt guilty about taking what had probably saved their life, but the years passed and he didn't feel anything anymore.
"So, what are you going to do now that you know about the council would keep you as their lap dog?" Richard asked.
"How did you-" Walker looked at them. Their answer was pointing towards their animal ears and his shoulders sagged a bit. He had forgotten Faunus had enhanced hearing, which was both a good and bad thing. It was stupid of him to even have this conversation in the vehicle with them, but he wasn't thinking at the moment. He shrugged at the older man's question before flipping his knife between his fingers. Now that he knew the council would keep him on a tight leash, he decided to build it up from the ground.
It would take a long time, possibly months or years, but he'd get it eventually. Until then, he'd be doing little side jobs and building up his own arsenal. The truck jerked around and he looked up to see a familiar settlement.
"I like this settlement." Richard commented.
"They got some good food." Walker said.
"You've been here?" Blake asked.
"Yeah, stopped by here a while ago to get something to eat." He answered.
"What do they have?" She asked.
"A lot, I mainly got the vegetable soup." He said.
"Isn't that always free though?" She asked, chewing on her the inside of her cheek to suppress a laugh.
"Look, I didn't have money so I couldn't afford to be picky." He looked away in embarrassment.
"Would you like some money, Walker? I can spare some." She leaned towards him.
"No. Would you like to stay in the settlement without transportation?" He sassed back. Richard looked at the two and chuckled when they continued to tease one another. In his eyes, he saw two youngsters casually joking around without any sort of malice. It was a perfect representation of a human and a Faunus not at each other's throat for something trivial as an extra appendage. He found himself relaxing a bit while the other two chatted and his thoughts drifted back to Velvet.
His daughter was always a softy at heart, never one for direct confrontation. She was sweet and compassionate about her goals... he just wished Beacon wasn't her first choice. The place wasn't as great as others made it seem. Each passing year, the acceptance rate dwindled and the students often found themselves living painfully short lives in the end. He didn't want that for his oldest child. There was also the fact that he didn't trust her teammates in the slightest. He's only met them once through a video call and they didn't exactly leave a good impression.
On top of that, he really wasn't looking forward to paying her tuition, especially with his wife's condition. She really couldn't do anything due to her failing health, and it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out she was getting worse. Each delivery he made felt a little less rewarding and he knew he couldn't do bounties. He started to feel a bit hopeless now.
Some time must have passed because Walker was snapping his fingers in front of him, shaking him out of his stupor.
"You alright?" He asked.
"Y-Yeah." Richard coughed and cleared his throat.
"You sure?" Walker asked.
"Yeah, just got caught up in some of my thoughts. Nothing serious." Richard waved.
"... If you say so... anyways, Blake and I were gonna grab something to eat. You want to come?" Walker asked.
"Katrina already made me something, I'm alright." Richard said.
"I was going to pay for you." Walker said.
"You don't have to." Richard shook his head. The other man looked at him skeptically before nodding his head and leaving shortly after, deciding pushing the man wasn't going to do any good. All Richard did was look at the two retreating figures before sighing and bringing out his wallet. He looked at the picture, a younger Velvet and back when his wife was healthier. Just a little more money and he could pay for her treatment... it's why he was so nervous around Walker. He knew the kid wasn't one to be taken lightly and he was afraid of what he'd do to him if he told him.
Lying was out of the question and that wasn't the kind of man Richard was.
Walker stared at the menu while Blake did the same. He finally had enough money to pay for something better than the vegetable soup. Blake already chose something with chicken in it and he decided to do the same. They eased their way into a conversation, nothing short of learning a bit more about one another. It was nice in his opinion; she seemed to take his advice into not shoving her viewpoints down his throat. She was patient when helping him learn more about Faunus in general, seeing how he didn't have a lot of experience.
After several minutes of waiting, their food was slid in front of them. They dug in and she beamed in delight at the taste while he just nodded before eating a bit faster. It was good, better than what he had initially expected.
"Is Richard okay?" She asked.
"I can tell he's not, but if he's not going to say anything, I won't push." He chewed his food.
"Fair enough." She nodded before going back to her food. The tavern was quiet for once and there were only a few people inside. It gave off a nice cozy feeling that let them enjoy the atmosphere. The door opened after some time and they turned to see Richard enter and sit down next to Blake. He ordered a drink and sipped it quietly when it was served to him. A stressed sigh was heard from him and the other two looked at him with some concern.
"I... I might not be able to pay you for delivering Velvet's package." He said after some time.
"Why?" Walker raised an eyebrow.
"Katrina is uh... she's really sick and I don't really want to-" Richard started.
"It's fine." Walker interrupted.
"W-What?" Richard blinked.
"I said it's fine. I kind of had a hunch she was sick." Walker picked at his food with his fork.
"How?" Richard asked.
"Clammy skin, fatigue, and the slight shortness of breath. Noticed it when I recently asked where you were. Am I a little shitty I didn't get my payment, you're damn right. I'm not going to let it get to me though. You're still paying me for acting as your bodyguard right?" Walker asked.
"Yeah." Richard nodded.
"Then there's no use in getting pissed at some extra money lost. It would have been a different story if you swindled me because you could." Walker shrugged.
"I... I don't know what to say." The older man said.
"A thank you would be nice." Walker commented.
"Thanks." Richard breathed in relief.
"No problem." Walker waved before turning back to his food. The three of them fell into an easy silence, not daring to break it. This was nice to him, to finally be able to relax a bit and not constantly worry about something trying to kill him. Yet, as nice as this was, he still needed to find a way to get home. That was the one thing that constantly plagued his thoughts a majority of the time. Granted, he was smart, but he wasn't a genius like some other people.
The door opened again and another person walked in, not paying attention and sitting next to him. Walker knew who it was and shook his head a bit before finishing his food, sliding it forward and waiting for the others to finish. Once they did, Jeannette collected their dishes and looked at the new person before sighing and taking the dishes to the back. She came back and and leaned against the counter, staring at him.
"How'd the talk with mom and dad go?" She asked.
"Uh... mom wants me to come home... dad on the other hand." Jaune trailed off.
"Is still a bit mad about you going to Beacon?" She asked.
"He wants me to give back Crocea Mors." He said.
"I think you should." She nodded sadly.
"What? Why?" He blinked.
"Jaune, I know you always wanted to be a hero, but this... this isn't for you. I'm sorry if it sounds harsh, but you weren't cut out for Beacon." She said truthfully, setting a hand on his shoulder. He clutched his head in his hands and his hair covered his eyes, blocking his eyes from everyone's view, but the tears could be seen spilling over. His sister wasn't trying to bring him down, not in the slightest, but even she could see that the path he was choosing would get him killed. It also would get others killed because he wasn't trained from the beginning.
Walker just watched the two before turning to his scroll and flicking through it. He stopped paying attention and the other two exited the tavern when he said they could, leaving him alone with the Arcs. The conversation stopped and all was quiet for a minute, only the sound of his scroll pinging was heard within the room. It went on for the next twenty minutes before he sighed and glanced up, seeing Jeannette's expression.
"Walker-" She started.
"No." He interrupted.
"You didn't even hear what I have to say." She said.
"I heard enough." He said.
"Please." She said.
"Why? Why should I bother with him?" He gestured towards Jaune.
"He wants-" She started.
"If you say he wants to be a hero then I'm leaving." He interrupted.
"..." She couldn't say anything and just looked at him sadly; something he wasn't affected by in the slightest.
"Give me a reason to let you tag along." Walker looked at Jaune, leaning against the counter.
"I... I want to do something with my life." He answered.
"There are other ways of doing something with your life, you know." Walker raised an eyebrow.
"I know, but some of the stuff I don't want to do." Jaune said.
"What is it that you want to do, Mr. Hero?" Walker tilted his head.
"I want to help people." Jaune said.
"Become a doctor." Walker retorted.
"I mean protect people." Jaune corrected.
"Join the military." Walker said.
"There isn't a military with the exception of Atlas. I don't know what to do." Jaune said.
"Then go home." Walker said finally, much to the shock of the other two.
"W-What?" Jaune blinked.
"Go home. So far you haven't shown me a reason as to why I should take you underneath my wing. You have no goal, no confidence, and no motivation." Walker said. He was aware he was being a major asshole to the kid who probably was shut down by everyone. Yet, if he didn't show him a reason to join him, then there was nothing that could be done.
"I'll pay you." Jeannette said.
"This isn't about money right now. I want to see why I should take your brother and look after him, especially when he's not going to even try and do anything about it." Walker said.
"Then how do I prove myself to you?" Jaune asked.
"You said you want to protect people?" Walker asked back.
"Yeah?" Jaune blinked in confusion.
"Then protect her." Walker nodded towards Jeannette.
"What do you mean-" Jaune stopped in his tracks when Walker pulled the Boltok out and aimed it at his sister. She blinked in surprise when the heavy looking sidearm was aimed at her.
"You said you want to protect people, then what would you do if I decided to kill her?" Walker asked.
"..." Jaune shook in place fearfully and clenched his fists tightly.
"Come on, hero. You're not going to protect anybody by being a coward." Walker said, fingers slowly squeezing the trigger.
"Stop..." Jaune shook.
"Seven seconds." Walker dismissed.
"Stop it." Jaune said a bit louder.
"Make me." Walker retorted, there was a faint clicking sound. A click for each second that passed.
"I said stop!" Jaune shouted before he sprung forward and tackled Walker onto the ground. The pistol clattered and slid across the wooden ground while Jaune just climbed on top of Walker and started to hit him. Walker ignored the pain and blocked a punch before hitting the side of Jaune's head and throwing him off of him. The blonde saw the pistol and scrambled towards it, picking it up and aiming it Walker.
"You got what it takes, hero?" Walker mocked.
Jaune shook before pulling the trigger after several tense seconds. His eyes widened when he heard a click and tried firing a few more times, only to hear more clicking. He looked up to see Walker leaning against the counter, taking a sip from his drink.
"Why won't it fire?!" Jaune cried out, continuing to pull the trigger.
"It's probably because it wasn't loaded in the first place." Walker said.
"What?" Jaune asked.
"Come on, you really think I'd just up and murder someone like your sister?" Walker asked.
"I-I mean..." Jaune trailed off.
"I wouldn't. Despite you having no backbone, motivation, nor skills. I will admit, you do have the spirit." Walker said.
"I thought that... that you were gonna shoot her." Jaune admitted.
"Had I been an asshole with no morality then I would have." Walker admitted.
"What was the point of this?" Jaune asked.
"Your sister told me a while ago about you, needless to say, you do fit the bill of being unimpressive." Walker said truthfully, making Jaune deflate. He rolled his eyes before walking up to him and taking his gun back, putting it on the back of his hip.
"So?" Jaune asked.
"To be honest, I still wasn't going to help you but she convinced me somehow. Like I said, you're pretty much useless but you got spirit, so that counts for something. Not to mention she's paying me quite a bit." Walker said.
"Oh..." Jaune whispered.
"That begs the question, what is it that you want?" Walker asked.
"I don't know right now. I wasn't lying when I said I want to protect people." Jaune said.
"Not bad. You got some spunk, I respect that." Walker nodded, going back to his seat and sitting down.
"So, you'll help me?" Jaune asked.
"I already agreed to so I don't have much of a choice." Walker shrugged.
"Tha-" Jaune started.
"Keep in mind, Arc... I don't tolerate people who don't pull their weight. The moment you start slipping is the moment you better find a way to shape back up. I'm patient, but there is a limit to everything." Walker informed.
"Okay. I get it." Jaune nodded.
"Get your things, except that Crocea Mors thing. You'll see a cargo truck near the front of the settlement, a cat and rabbit Faunus should be nearby. Get acquainted with them a bit." Walker instructed.
"Got it." Jaune nodded before heading out the door, leaving the other two left.
It was quiet for several seconds before Walker stood up and stretched, picking up the knocked over stools and chairs before setting them upright and going back to the counter where Jeannette stood.
"Sorry about that whole ordeal." He apologized.
"It's alright, he needs this." She sighed.
"You knew the gun wasn't loaded." He guessed.
"Yeah, you don't seem like the kind of guy to threaten random people." She said.
"I'm not, at least not without a good reason. Plus, you are paying me so there's that." He said.
"Yeah." She laughed before looking at him with a bit of concern. "Take care of him alright? He's a good kid, a little naïve, but a good person deep down." She finished.
"I'm sure he is. Well, sorry about the whole gun thing." He said before reloading the Boltok and putting it back on his hip.
"Like I said before, it's fine. Just take care of my baby brother." She said.
"I'll do my best, but no promises. Anyways, I'll see you around." He waved as he started to exit the tavern.
"See you later, I'll make sure to have something for you when you come back." She waved back.
"Thanks. That'd mean a lot." He nodded before exiting the tavern. His neck popped and back did as well before he started to head back to the truck. All that was left was to find a way to accommodate Jaune into their little group before going from there. Just because he was traveling with them didn't mean he was going to go easy on him, Blake was in the same page as well.
Walker always did have a knack of finding things that stuck to him for a while.
This chapter took me a while, I don't know why. So before you guys get all mad and say that Walker is an asshole, keep in mind he's not meant to be some heroic character with no flaws. I kind of wrote him to be an asshole at certain times, it's just how some people are. Anyways, I'm sure you all don't care about that so let's get onto the reviews.
Guest: I don't know, but that's kind of the beauty of it. I can do whatever.
Arch Magos Belacaruius Cronus: Yeah, the previous rendition was a dumpster fire. You don't have to sugar coat anything. Plus, I figured breaking from canon was the best bet if I want this to take off a bit. PRAISE THE OMNISSIAH.
ShinyGiratinaA001: I don't know yet. Yeah, I wanted to break from canon a bit and do something different.
Ferno16: Yep.
whatsupman: Probably somewhere further than the last version.
David4796: I don't consider it a bad thing anymore. Like some people said, it's called FanFiction for a reason. I will say though, Walker will have a sort of pseudo-PMC, so it's not like it's a surprise considering I'm keeping some of the elements from the last version. Although, it'll be somewhat darker.
| Fredric |: Nah, I just upload when I get the chance. It helps me not worry about satisfying some people so much, because in the end I don't bow to anyone on this site.
Somerandomperson: It is.
Austin: A long review, won't say it's unwelcome and I do enjoy ones like yours. I don't know how I'll handle the teams at Beacon, hasn't really come across my mind. Also about Jaune, he won't be plot favored or armored. About Tukson, we always hear about discrimination against Faunus, but who's to say there isn't some against humans as well? I'll have to see about the dog situation though, might be further down the road. Thanks for writing the review though.
Bile 1.0: I don't know, brother. The site is funky sometimes.
anon44575173: Yeah, this version of Johnny Topside is discontinued but I am rewriting it soon, so there's a bit of hope.
Gigglemesh: I like it as well.
NaturalBornK: Thank you.
CamoMurf: Thank you.
That's really it for now, I apologize if the chapter isn't what you want, but it's better than nothing. I would like to thank you though, it means a lot that some people enjoy this. Anyways, see you guys later. See ya.
