Ochako wanted to speak up. They all earned to stay at U.A. and their teacher is taking it away from them. She was about to speak up, but somebody stopped her. It was Izuku. He shook his head, warning her to not speak an utter word.

She wanted to speak anyway, but knowing Izuku, she trusted him. She took a breath and got ready for the real thing, about being a hero.

--

The class made their way over to the track area of the field. Izuku turned to look at Ochako. "Don't worry, Ochako. You will do fine."

"Do you really think so, Deku?"

"Of course. I believe in you." Izuku smiled, which caused Ochako to smile with him.

In the 50-meter dash, the students alternated in pairs until… "Bakugou and Midoriya, your turn."

Izuku was up against Katsuki, who were both ready.

Aizawa raised his timer, "Ready…" Izuku took a deep breath and looked back at Ochako.

She mouthed the words, 'I believe in you.'

Izuku's chakra started to rise as he took a deep breath. He gained some knowledge about Chakra from his experience climbing trees in the forest. You accelerate out of the predetermined location the more chakra you have. Most of the time, if Izuku was correct, he would accelerate more quickly than a bullet.

"Get set…" With an eye toward the future, Katsuki prepared himself and would not let go until he had triumphed.

"Go!"

Katsuki and Izuku leaped from their positions. Izuku was clearly gaining ground on Katsuki in the first few seconds, but he had a problem. Izuku only had 4.13 seconds left, and Katsuki received 3.76 seconds since Izuku had to drop and use his Chakra once more. With a sly smile, Katsuki turned to face Deku. "ALRIGHT!" When Izuku turned around, Katsuki was making fun of him. "Looks like you need to get stronger to be faster than me, loser!"

"I will beat you next time!" Izuku replied.

"Maybe train for a couple of more years." Katuski said as Ochako tried to stop his insults.

Izuku looked at his rival, getting reminded of something he remembered.

Flashback

"Oi, Deku!" Katsuki screamed at the green haired boy. Izuku turned and saw Katsuki glaring at him, almost like he was ready to win something. "If we ever fought in UA, I don't want you to hold back."

Izuku smiled, "Why do you assume we will fight, Kacchan?"

"If we ever do, then I will win, since you got a limit for your quirk."

"You might be right, but I won't lose to you."

"We'll see about that."

"By the way, checkmate." Izuku smiled.

"Fuck off."

End of Flashback

--

For the remainder of the event, things went no according to plan. In the grip test, Ochako scored 56 kg, while Izuku and Katuski scored 79 kg. The three of them passed the sandbox, and the remaining activities proceeded fairly smoothly. Izuku was performing admirably in every competition.

The fact that her training was paying off made Ochako very happy. The training regimens for Katsuki and Izuku truly did show results in a short period of time. Before long, Katsuki was the only thing remaining—the softball throw. Ochako's gravity quirk had allowed her to manage an infinity meter. Katsuki was next in line. Ochako exclaimed, "You got this, Bakugo!".

Katsuki ignored her and walked his way up to the platform. He used his explosion, giving it a cannon ball effect, launching it to the sky. Smoke trails were visible, and Aizawa showed the results.

705.2 meters

"HA! I got more!" Katuski pointed at Izuku.

"By one! It's not that significant!" Izuku responded.

"It doesn't matter if it is by an inch or a mile, a win is still a win!"

Under his scarf, Aizawa couldn't help but smile. Although he detests to say it, these new students have promise.
