Flesh and Stone

The second the gravity globe exploded, I jumped. I'll tell you that was one of the strangest experiences in my life, and that's saying something. I jumped and instead of returning to the ground I was pulled up to the side of the ship. Not a second after we landed The Doctor jumped to his feet. "Up! Look up!

I got up to my feet and dusted myself off. I went over to my daughter and helped her to her feet, "You OK?"

"Yeah," she said, "Not bad for my first crazy idea huh?"

I smiled, "Not bad at all."

"What happened?" asked Amy, as she got to her feet.

"We jumped." said River.

"Jumped where?"

"Up, up, look up!" said The Doctor.

"Where are we?" asked Amy.

"Exactly where we were," said Annabelle.

"No we're not."

"Move your feet!" said The Doctor, as he crouched down and used his sonic on a circular hatch on the ship

Amy looked up and I could tell she couldn't comprehend what she was seeing, "Doctor, what am I looking at? Explain."

"Oh, come on, Amy, think!" said The Doctor as he pop up for a moment, "The ship crashed with the power still on, yeah? So what else is still on?"

"The artificial gravity," said Annabelle, as The Doctor went back to work on opening the hatch. I got down and helped him. Annabelle continued, "I shot out the gravity globe to give us an updraft when we jumped."

"Doctor. The statues, they look more like Angels now."

"They're feeding on the radiation from the wreckage," I said, "They're draining all the power from the ship to restore themselves. Within an hour, they'll be an army." Just then the hatch opened up just as the lights started to go out. We looked down the hatch and saw a corridor.

"They're taking out the lights," said The Doctor, "Look at them, look at the Angels. Into the ship, now, quickly all of you!"

"But how? Doctor!" asked Amy. We looked into the hole and saw The Doctor standing upright.

"It's just a corridor. The gravity orientates to the floor. Now, in here, all of you., don't take your eyes off the Angels. Move, move, move!" We all entered the ship while The Doctor used his screwdriver on a keypad.

"OK, men, go, go, go!" said Father Octavian. He walked up to The Doctor, "The Angels, presumably they can jump up too?"

The hatch closed once everyone was inside, "They're here. Now. In the dark, we're finished. Run!" said The Doctor. Just then a large door closed behind us trapping us there

"This whole place is a death trap," Said Father Octavian.

"No, it's a time bomb. Well, it's a death trap and a time bomb. And now it's a dead end. Nobody panic." said The Doctor. We heard the Angels bang on the hatch trying to get in. "Oh, just me then. What's through here?"

"Secondary flight deck," said River.

"OK. so we've basically run up the inside of a chimney, yeah?" asked Amy, "So what if the gravity fails?"

I helped River work on bypassing the power while Annabelle worked with The Doctor on trying to get the door opened. "I've thought about that." said The Doctor.

"And?" asked Amy.

"And we'll all plunge to our deaths. See. I've thought about it." said The Doctor.

"The security protocols are still active," said Annabelle, "There's no way to override them, it's impossible."

"How impossible?" asked River.

"I can override them in two minutes."

I smiled, "That's my girl." Annabelle and the Doctor continued to work on getting the door opened. Just then we heard the hum of the engines powering down, and the hatch that we entered through opened.

"The hull is breached and the power's failing," said Father Octavian.

The lights went out and we could see the arm of an Angel in the opening.

"Sir! Incoming!" said one of the Clerics.

"Lights!" shouted Amy, "Turn on the Lights!"

I used my sonic on the controls River and I were working on and the lights came on briefly and we saw an Angel making its way inside. The lights went out again and came back on brighter to show four Angels inside the corridor with them, and the hatch closed behind them.

"Clerics, keep watching them," said Father Octavian.

"And don't look at their eyes. Anywhere else. Not the eyes," said The Doctor.

"There," said Annabelle, "I've isolated the lighting grid. They can't drain the power now."

"Good work, ma'am."

"Yes. Good," Said The Doctor, "Good in many ways, good you like it so far…"

"So far?" asked Amy.

"Well, there's only one way to open this door," said Annabelle, "I'll need to route all the power in this section through the door control."

"Good, fine, do it." said Father Octavian.

"Including the lights. All of them. I'll need to turn out the lights."

"How long for?"

"Annabelle and The Doctor looked at each other and he said, "Fraction of a second, maybe longer. Maybe quite a bit longer."

"Maybe?" asked Father Octavian.

"I'm guessing. We're being attacked by statues in a crashed ship, there isn't a manual for this!"

"Doctor, we lost the torches," said Amy, "We'll be in total darkness."

"No other way. Bishop?"

Father Octavian looked at River, "Dr. Song, I've lost good Clerics today. You trust this man?"

"I absolutely trust him," said River.

"He's not some kind of madman then?"

"I absolutely trust him."

"Excuse me." said The Doctor as he and Annabelle went back to work on the door.

"I'm taking your word, because you're the only reason these three are here," said Father Octavian, "But that only works so long as they don't know who you are. You cost me any more men, and I might just tell them. Understood?"

"Understood." said River.

Father Octavian looked at my uncle and daughter, "We've got your backs."

"Bless you. Bishop," said The Doctor.

Father Octavian then spoke to his clerics, "Combat distance, ten feet. As soon as the lights go down, continuous fire. Full spread over the hostiles. Do not stop firing while the lights are out. Shot gun protocol, we don't have bullets to waste.

Annabelle looked at Amy "Amy, when the lights go down, the wheel should release. Spin it clockwise, four turns."

"Ten." said Amy as she nodded.

"No, four, four turns."

"Yeah, four, I heard you.," said Amy as she took her position at the door.

"Ready!" said The Doctor as he placed his sonic into the circuit.

"On my count then," said Father Octavian, "God be with us all. Three... two...one." Then the lights went out, "Fire!

The clerics opened fire on the Angles. Then The Doctor, Amy, and River tried to get the door opened, "Turn!" said The Doctor.

"Doctor, quickly!" said River.

"It's opening, it's working." said Amy

Amy and River slipped through the opening, followed by Annabelle and I, "Fall back!" we heard Father Octavian order. Then, the Clerics, Father Octavian and The Doctor came around the door. Just as The Doctor, got around the door it closed. We then ran down the corridor and reached another door. The Doctor used his sonic to open the door, while the rest of us ran into the Secondary Flight Deck.

"Doctor, quickly." said River.

"Doctor!" called Amy.

Then, my uncle came inside. I looked around the flight deck and saw it in major disrepair with exposed wires all over the consoles. Us Time Lords and River went over to the controls to see what we could do to keep the Angles out and maybe keep them from draining the ship's power.

"Doctor!" shouted Amy. We looked and saw the wheel on the door start to spin as Angels tried to open the door. Father Octavian then placed a device on the door, "What are you doing?"

"Magnetized the door," He said, "Nothing could turn that wheel now."

"Wanna bet?" I asked

Then the wheel started to turn again slower than before, "Dear God!"

"Ah, now you're getting it!" said The Doctor, "You've bought us time though, that's good. I am good with time."

"Doctor!" said Amy again as another door wheel started to spin.

"Seal that door. Seal it now!" said Father Octavian to one of his clerics. A cleric placed a magnetic device on the second door.

"We're surrounded!" said River, as the third door begins to spin open.

"Seal it, seal that door!" said Father Octavian. A second cleric placed a device on the door. "How long have we got?"

"Five minutes, max," I said.

"Nine." said Amy.

I looked at Amy, "No, I said five."

"Five, right yeah."

"Why did you say nine?"

"I didn't."

Before I could argue, River said, "We need another way out of here."

"There isn't one." said Father Octavian.

"Yeah, there is, course there is," said The Doctor, "This is a galaxy class ship, goes for years between planet-falls. So," he snapped his fingers, "what do they need?"

"Of course." said River. The Doctor snapped his fingers.

"Of course, what?" asked Amy, "What do they need?"

"Can we get in there?" asked Father Octavian.

I walked to the back wall of the flight deck, "Well, it's a sealed unit, but they must have installed it somehow. This whole wall should slide up."

The Doctor looked down, "There's clamps. Release the clamps!" The Doctor and I used our sonics on the clamps.

"What's through there? What do they need?" asked Amy.

"They need to breathe," said Annabelle.

The wall started to rise, "But that's... That's a…" said Amy awestruck and what she saw. A lush forest.

"It's an oxygen factory," said River.

"It's a forest." said Amy.

"Yeah, it's a forest, it's an oxygen factory."

"And, if we're lucky, an escape route," I said.

"Eight." said Amy.

"What did you say?" asked River.

"Nothing."

"Is there another exit?" asked The Doctor, "Scan the architecture, we don't have time to get lost in there."

"On it!" said Father Octavian as he walked into the forest, "Stay where you are until I've checked the Rad levels."

"But trees! On a space ship?" exclaimed Amy.

"Oh, more than trees, way better than trees. You're going to love this," said The Doctor as he steps into forest, "Treeborgs…" he opened a section of peat moss and under it were all kinds of fiber optic cable, "Trees plus technology. Branches become cables, become sensors on the hull."

"A forest absorbing starlight, breathing out oxygen," I said, "It even rains in there. It's a whole mini-climate. A forest in a bottle, on a space ship, in a maze. Have we impressed you yet, Amy Pond?"

Amy chucked, "Seven."

"Seven?" asked Annabelle as The Doctor walked back on to the flight deck.

"Sorry, what?"

"You said seven," said Annabelle as she looked at her friend's face.

"No. I didn't."

"Yes, you did," said River.

"Doctor!" called Father Octavian, "There's an exit, far end of the ship, into the Primary Flight Deck."

"Good, that's where we need to go," said The Doctor.

"Plotting a safe path," said Father Octavian, as he got out his handheld device.

"Quick as you like!" said The Doctor as he walked over to Amy and started looking her over.

Just then Angel Bob's voice came over the radio, "Doctor? Excuse me. Hello, Doctor? Angel Bob here, sir."

Annabelle handed The Doctor the radio, as he sat down in the captain's chair, "Ah. there you are, Angel Bob. How's life? Sorry, bad subject." I rolled my eyes.

"The Angels are wondering what you hope to achieve.

"Achieve? We're not achieving anything. We're just hanging. It's nice in here, consoles, comfy chairs, a forest. How's things with you?"

"The Angels are feasting, sir. Soon we will be able to absorb enough power to consume this vessel, this world, and all the stars and worlds beyond."

"Well, we've got comfy chairs, did I mention?"

"We have no need of comfy chairs."

"I made him say comfy chairs!"

I shook my head. Annabelle laughed and Amy laughed and said, "Six."

The Doctor jumped out of his chair, "Okay, well, enough chat. Here's what I want to know: what have you done to Amy?"

"There is something in her eye," said Angel Bob.

"What's in her eye?"

"We are."

"What's he talking about?" asked Amy," I'm five… I mean, five. Fine! I'm fine."

"You're counting," said River.

"Counting?" said Amy.

"You've been counting down from ten for a couple of minutes," I said.

"Why?"

"I don't know."

"Well, counting down to what?"

"I don't know."

"We shall take her," said Angel Bob, over the radio, "We shall take all of you. We shall have dominion over all time and space."

The Doctor sat back down, "Get a life, Bob. Oops, sorry again. There's power on this ship, but nowhere near that much."

"With respect, sir, there is more power on this ship than you yet understand."

All of the sudden there was a loud, horrible screeching.

"Dear God, what is it?" asked River.

"They're back," said Octavian

"It's hard to put in your terms, Dr. Song, but as best I understand it, the Angels are laughing." said Angel Bob.

"Laughing?" said The Doctor.

"Because you and your nieces haven't noticed yet. The Doctor and his nieces in the TARDIS haven't noticed."

Annabelle and I started to look around the room. Besides the torn apart control panels there was nothing out of the ordinary. "What's he talking about?" said Annabelle, "There's nothing here… Mom…"

I looked at my daughter and saw she was looking at something over the door we came in. I looked where she was looking and my hearts dropped, "Doctor…"

The Doctor stood, "No, wait, there's something...we've…" he slowly and saw what we saw. The exact same crack we first saw in Amy's bedroom, "missed."

He ran up to the wall, and pushed an equipment case by the door, "That's... That's like the crack from my bedroom wall from when I was a little girl." said Amy.

"Yes." said The Doctor.

"OK, enough, we're moving out!" said Father Octavian.

"Agreed. Doctor?" said River.

"Yeah. Fine!" said The Doctor as he used his sonic on the crack.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Right with you."

I rolled my eyes, "Come on, Annabelle." I took my daughter's hand and we headed to the forest.

"We're not leaving without you!" said River.

"Oh. yes you are," said The Doctor, "Bishop?"

"Amy! River! Come on!" I shouted, "The Doctor's a big boy he can take care of himself…"

River grabbed Amy and pulled her toward the forest, "Doctor, come on!" shouted Amy.

Once we caught up with Father Octavian, him and his clerics walked around us four woman. As we walked I saw Amy starting to walk slower. I walked up to her and saw she had a sickly look on her face, "Amy?" I walked up to and grabbed her shoulders, "Amy, what's wrong?"

"Four," was all she said. Then she curled up on a moss-covered rock

"Med-scanner, now!" said River. One of the clerics gave it to her and she to get ready to scan Amy.

"Dr. Song, we can't stay here, we've got to keep moving," said Father Octavian.

"We wait for The Doctor." I said.

"Our mission is to make this wreckage safe and neutralize the Angels. Until that is achieved…"

"Father Octavian," cut off River, "when The Doctor is in the room, your only mission is to keep him alive long enough to get everyone else home. And trust me. It's not easy. Just ask Teddy and Annabelle. Now, if he's dead back there, I'll never forgive myself, and if he's alive, I'll never forgive him. And, Doctor, you're standing right behind me, aren't you?"

I turned and saw my uncle standing on a rock behind River and I smiled, "Oh, yeah." he said.

River turned and faced him, "I hate you!"

"You don't. Bishop, the Angels are in the forest." The Doctor came over and went to Amy's side.

"We need visual contact on every line of approach," Father Octavian told his clerics.

"How did you get past them?" asked Annabelle.

"Found a crack in the wall and told them it was the end of the universe," said The Doctor.

"What was it?" asked Amy.

"The end of the universe. Let's have a look then." River handed The Doctor the med-scanner.

"So. what's wrong with me?" asked Amy.

"Nothing. you're fine." said River.

"Everything, you're dying," said The Doctor.

"Doctor!" shouted River.

I smacked him hard upside the head, "What is wrong with you?!"

"Ow!" said The Doctor, then he looked at me, "Maybe I have brain damage from someone hit me all the time."

"I haven't hit you that much since I regenerated."

"Well, it's not like if we lie to her, she'll get all better! Right. Amy! Amy. what's the matter with Amelia? Something's in her eye. What does that mean? Doesn't mean anything."

"Doctor." said Amy, weakly.

"Busy."

"Scared!"

"Course, you're dying, shut up!"

"It'll be OK," I said, "let him think."

The Doctor stood and started to pace, "What happened? She stared at the Angel, she looked into the eyes of an angel for too long…"

"Sir! Angel, incoming!" said one of the clerics

"And here," said a second cleric.

"Keep visual contact, do not let it move!" said Father Octavian.

The Doctor slapped his head, "Come on, come on, wakey, wakey! She watched an Angel climb out of the screen. She stared at the Angel and…and…"

"The image of an Angel is an Angel," said Amy.

"A living image in a human mind. We stare at them to stop them getting closer, we don't even blink and that's exactly what they want, cos as long as our eyes are open, they can climb inside. There's an Angel in her mind." The Doctor put hand over his mouth and my eyes got big.

"Three," said Amy, "Doctor, it's coming. I can feel it. I'm going to die!"

"Please just shut up, I'm thinking. Now counting, what's that about?" The Doctor took out the radio, "Bob, why are they making her count?"

"To make her afraid, sir," said Angel Bob.

"OK. but why. what for?"

"For fun, sir."

The Doctor growled in frustration and threw the radio.

"What's happening to me?" asked Amy, "Explain!"

"In the vision centers of your brain, there's an Angel," I said as I sat by Amy's head, "It's like there's a virtual screen inside your mind, and the Angel is climbing out of it, and it's coming to shut you off."

"Then what do I do?"

"If it was a real screen, what would we do, we'd pull the plug." said The Doctor.

"But we can't just knock her out," said Annabelle, "The Angel would kill her!"

"Then what?" asked River, "Quickly!"

"We've got to shut down the vision centers of her brain," I said, "We've got to pull the plug, starve the Angel."

River was looking at the screen of the scanner, "She's got seconds."

"How would you starve your lungs?" asked The Doctor.

"I'd stop breathing," said River.

I smiled, "That's it!" I looked back down at Amy, "Amy, close your eyes!"

"No, no, I don't want to," she said.

"Good. Because, it's not you that doesn't want to close your eyes, it's the Angel inside you. It's afraid… Please Amy… Close your eyes…"

She hesitated but then closed her eyes. I looked at the scanner that River was holding and smiled when the readings returned to normal. "She's normalizing." said River as she sighed with relief, "You did it! You did it!"

"Sir? Two more incoming." said one of the clerics.

"Three more over here." said another.

River then started packing up the scanner, "Still weak, dangerous to move her."

Annabelle helped Amy sit up, "So, can I open my eyes now?" she asked.

I bent down in front of Amy, "Amy, listen to me. If you open your eyes now for more than a second, you will die. The Angel is still inside you. We haven't stopped it, we've just sort of...paused it. You've used up your countdown. You cannot open your eyes."

"Doctor, we're too exposed here," said Father Octavian, "We have to move on."

"We're exposed everywhere," said The Doctor, "and Amy can't move, and anyway, that's not the plan."

"There's a plan?" asked River as she sat next to Amy, putting an arm around her.

"I don't know yet, I haven't finished talking." said The Doctor. I rolled my eyes as he continued, "Right! Father, you and your Clerics will stay here, look after Amy. If anything happens to her, I'll hold each of you personally responsible, twice. River, you, me, Teddy and Annabelle, we're going to find the Primary Flight Deck which is…" he licked his finger and held it up to test the air. "a quarter mile straight ahead. We'll stabilize the wreckage. stop the Angels, and cure Amy."

"How?" asked River.

"I'll do a thing."

"What thing?"

"I don't know, it's a thing in progress. Respect the thing. Moving out!"

"Doctor, I'm coming with you," Said Father Octavian, "My Clerics can look after Miss Pond. These are my best men, they'd lay down their lives in her protection."

"I don't need you," said The Doctor.

"I don't care. Where Dr. Song goes, I go."

River walked over to them and The Doctor said, "What?" he looked at River and then at Father Octavian, "You two engaged or something?"

"Yes, in a manner of speaking. Marco, you're in charge till I get back." Then he started off with River.

"Sir!" said Marco.

"Doctor... Please, can't I come with you?" asked Amy.

"You'd slow us down, Miss Pond." said Father Octavian.

"I don't want to sound selfish, but you'd really speed me up."

The Doctor sat next to Amy, "You'll be safer here. We can't protect you on the move. I'll be back for you soon as I can. I promise."

"You always say that." said Amy

"I always come back." said The Doctor as he stood, "Good luck everyone. Behave. Do not let that girl open her eyes. And keep watching the forest. Stop those Angels advancing. Amy, later!" he tapped her on the head, "River, going to need your computer." Then, he started off.

"Yeah. Later."

Annabelle and I started to follow when she asked, "Mom? Would it be all right if I stayed with Amy?"

I smiled, "I think so… Amy could use a friend right now… But, be careful. Don't move from Amy's side until either The Doctor or I tell you."

Annabelle smiled, "OK" Then she went and sat down next to Amy and I went to catch up with the others.

When I caught up with them, The Doctor was looking at River's handheld as it beeped, "What's that?" asked River

"Readings from a crack in a wall," said The Doctor.

"How can a crack in the wall be the end of the universe?" I asked

"Here's what I think. One day there'll be a very big bang, so big every moment in history - past and future - will crack."

"Is that possible?" asked River, "How?"

"How can you be engaged in a manner of speaking?" asked The Doctor.

"Well...sucker for a man in uniform," said River with a smile.

Father Octavian walked over, "Dr. Song is in my personal custody. I released her from the Stormcage Containment Facility four days ago and I am legally responsible for her until she has accomplished her mission and earned her pardon. Just so we understand each other."

"You were in Stormcage?" I asked.

Just then River's handheld beeped, "What? What is that?"

River and I looked at the screen, and The Doctor said, "The date! The date of the explosion where the crack begins."

"And for those of us who can't read the base code of the universe?" asked River.

The date appeared on the screen, 26/06/2017. "That's tomorrow morning, Amy's time" I said.

We reached the door that led to the primary flight deck. I was standing next to my uncle as he took readings from River's handheld, while Father Octavian looked for a way in while, River stood guard. "It doesn't open it from here, but it's the Primary Flight Deck," said Father Octavian, "This has got to be a service hatch or something."

"Hurry up and open it, time's running out." said River.

"What? What did you say? Time's running out, is that what you said?" asked The Doctor.

"Yeah. I just meant…"

"I know what you meant. Hush!" The Doctor looked at me, "But what if it could?"

"What if what could?" asked River.

"Time," I said, "What if time could run out?"

"Got it!" said Father Octavian.

"Cracks in time, time running out…" said The Doctor.

"But it couldn't be." I said.

"How is a duck pond a duck pond if there aren't any ducks?"

I thought about what he said, "And she didn't recognize the Daleks!"

OK, time can shift. Time can change."

"Time can be rewritten."

"Dr Song, get through, now," said Father Octavian. "Doctor? Teddy?"

"Time can be unwritten," said The Doctor.

"It's been happening and we haven't even noticed!" I said.

"We've have to move," said Father Octavian.

"The CyberKing!" said The Doctor, as he mentioned our encounter with Jackson Lake, "A giant Cyberman walks over all of Victorian London and no-one remembers."

"We have to move it! The Angels could be here any second."

"Never mind the Angels. There's worse here than Angels!"

The lights when out for a second and when we turned back around we saw an Angel with it arm around Father Octavian neck, "I beg to differ, sir."

The Doctor and I took our screwdrivers and pointed them at the Angel, "Let him go."

"Well, it can't let me go, sir, not while you're looking at it."

"We can't stop looking at it, it'll kill you."

"It'll kill me anyway," said Father Octavian, "There's no way out of this. You have to leave me!"

"Can't you wriggle out?" asked The Doctor.

"No. it's too tight. There's nothing you can do."

"You're dead if we leave you," I said.

"Yes, yes, I'm dead. And before you go…" said Father Octavian.

"We're not going!"

"Listen to me. It's important! You can't trust her."

"Trust who?" asked The Doctor.

"River Song," said Father Octavian, "You think you know her, but you don't. You don't understand who or what she is."

"Then tell us."

"I've told you more than I should. Now, please, you have to go. It's your duty to your friends."

"Just tell us why she was in Stormcage?"

"She killed three people, good people, heroes to many."

The Doctor and I looked at each other, "Who?" I asked

"You don't want to know, ma'am," said Father Octavian, "You really don't."

"Who did she kill?" asked The Doctor.

"Sir, the Angels are coming. You have to leave me."

"You'll die."

"I will die in the knowledge that my courage did not desert me at the end. For that, I thank God and bless the path that takes you both to safety."

"I wish I'd known you better."

"I think, sir, you know me at my best."

I smiled at that "Ready?" I asked.

"Content," said Father Octavian.

I went first, then once I was inside the Primary Flight Deck, The Doctor follwed closing the hatch and locking it with his sonic.

"There's a teleport!" said River, "If I can get it to work, we can beam the others here. Where's Octavian?"

"Octavian's dead," I said.

"So is that teleport," said The Doctor, "You're wasting your time. I'm going to need your communicator." He took the communicator.

Then we heard Amy's voice, "Hello? Please say you're there. Hello? Hello!"

"Is that you, Amy?" asked The Doctor.

"'Doctor?'"

"Where are you?" I asked, "Are Annabelle and the Clerics with you?"

"The Clerics are gone," said Annabelle, "They walked into the light of the crack. They didn't even remember each other."

"No. They wouldn't," said The Doctor.

"What is that light?" asked River.

"Time running out," I said.

"Amy. I'm sorry," said The Doctor into the radio, "We should never have left you and Annabelle there."

"Well, what do we do now?" asked Amy.

"You come to us. We're at the Primary Flight Deck on the other end of the forest," I said. Then, I used my sonic on the communicator. "I've sent the path to your communicator. Give it to Annabelle and she'll guide you out of the forest. You have to start moving now. There's time energy spilling out of that crack and you have to stay ahead of it."

"We're on our way," said Annabelle.

"But what about the Angels?" asked Amy.

"I'm sorry, I really am, but the Angels can only kill you," said The Doctor.

"What does the Time Energy do?" asked Amy.

I took the communicator, "If the Time Energy catches up with you, you'll never have been born. It will erase every moment of your existence. You will never have lived at all."

"It's never going to work." said River

"What else have you got?!" shouted the Doctor, "River, tell me!"

Just then there was a loud whooshing and clanging, "What's that?"

"The Angels running from the fire," I said, "They came here to feed on the time energy. Now it's going to feed on them."

"That time energy, what's it going to do?" asked River.

"Er, keep eating," said The Doctor.

"How do we stop it?"

"Feed it."

"Feed it what?"

"A big complicated space-time event should take care of it for a while," I said.

"Like what, for instance?" asked River.

"Like me, for instance!" shouted the Doctor.

Just then Annabelle came on the communicator, "Mom, We are surrounded by Angels."

"Don't worry," I said into the communicator, "Standby…" Then I looked at River, "Now…"

River pressed a button and then a seconds later, Amy and Annabelle were on the flight deck. I went over to Annabelle and gave her a big hug, "I'm so glad your OK."

She hugged me back, "Me too…"

River came up to Amy, "Don't open your eyes. You're on the Flight Deck, The Doctor, Teddy, and Annabelle are here. I teleported you." River then looked at the Doctor, "See? Told you I could get it working."

"River Song, I could bloody kiss you." said The Doctor.

"Ah well, maybe when you're older," said River, just then an alarm blared, "What's that?"

"The Angels are draining the last of the ship's power," I said. Just then the door to the forest open and in front of us were a large army of Angles. Us Time Lords stepped forward and saw an Angel with a communicator.

"Angel Bob, I presume," said Annabelle.

"The Time Field is coming," said Angel Bob, "It will destroy our reality."

"Yeah, and look at you, all running away," I said, "What can we do for you?"

"There is a rupture in time. The Angels calculate that if The Doctor throws himself into it, it will close and they will be saved."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Could do, could do that. But why?" asked The Doctor.

"Your friends would also be saved."

"Well, there is that."

River stepped up next to us, "I've traveled in time. I'm a complicated space/time event, too. Throw me in."

"Oh, be serious!" said The Doctor, "Compared to me, these Angels are more complicated than you and it would take every one of them to amount to me, so get a grip."

"Doctor, I can't let you do this."

"No, seriously, get a grip."

"You're not going to die here!"

"No, I mean it. River, Amy, Teddy, Annabelle get a grip. "

Annabelle and I realized what he meant and went to grab something to hold onto.

"Oh, you genius!" said River as she went to help Amy.

"Sir, the Angels need you to sacrifice yourself now," said Angel Bob.

'Thing is, Bob, the Angels are draining all the power from this ship, every last bit of it," Said The Doctor, "And you know what? I think they've forgotten where they're standing. I think they've forgotten the gravity of the situation. Or to put it another way, Angels Night-night."

We all hung on for dear life as the gravity failed due to the power loss. The Angels all fell into the crack. There was a burst of light and the crack closed.

Later we were back outside, the sun was starting to rise. We were leaning on a large rock, Amy was wrapped up in blanket, "Ah, Bruised everywhere." she said.

"Me too," said The Doctor.

"Me three," I said.

"Me four," said Annabelle.

"Well, you lot didn't have to climb out with your eyes shut," said Amy.

"Neither did you," said Annabelle, "I kept saying. 'The Angels all fell into the time field. The Angel in your memory never existed. It can't harm you now.' "

"Then why do I remember it at all? Those guys on the ship didn't remember each other."

"You're a time traveller now, Amy," I said, "It changes the way you see the universe forever."

"And the crack. Is that gone too?" asked Amy.

"Yeah, for now," said The Doctor, "But the explosion that caused it is still happening... somewhere out there, somewhere in time."

Annabelle stayed with Amy while The Doctor and I walked over to River. "You, me...handcuffs." she held up her hand to show they were in cuffs, "Must it always end this way?"

"What now?" asked The Doctor.

"The prison ship's in orbit. They'll beam me up any second. I might have done enough to earn a pardon this time. We'll see."

"Octavian said you killed three people," I said.

"Yes. I did. Good people. A very good people. The three of best people I've ever known."

"Who?"

"It's a long story, Teddy, can't be told. It has to be lived. No sneak previews. Well, except for this one: you'll see me again quite soon, when the Pandorica opens."

"The Pandorica, ha!" laughed The Doctor, "That's a fairy tale."

River laughed, "Oh, Doctor, aren't we all? I'll see you there."

"I look forward to it."

"I remember it well."

"Until then," I said with a smile.

Just then Amy and Annabelle walked up, "Bye. River," said Amy.

"See you. Amy," said River as her handcuffs beeped, "Oh! I think that's my ride."

"Can we trust you. River Song?" asked The Doctor.

"If you like, but where's the fun in that?" she laughed and was teleported away.

The Doctor then turned to look out to the ocean, I looked at him, "What are you thinking?"

"Time can be rewritten." he replied.

Soon we were back in The TARDIS. Us Time Lords were preparing for departure while Amy was sitting on the jump seat, "I want to go home."

That surprised all of us, "OK," said The Doctor quietly.

Amy smiled and walked over to him, "No, not like that! I just… I just want to show you something. You're running from River. I'm running too."

We landed the TARDIS carefully in Amy's bedroom. Annabelle and I started to follow Amy and The Doctor out of the TARDIS when she stopped us, "Um, do you think I could speak to The Doctor in private?"

I nodded, "Sure.. That's fine."

Annabelle and I then headed back over to the console. We were doing a routine check of all the systems, when The Doctor pushed Amy back into the TARDIS. The Doctor started pressing buttons "What's going on?" I asked.

"We have to find Rory."

"Amy's boyfriend? Why?"

"Well, it turns out that when we picked up Amy, it was the night before her wedding to him."

"What?"

"And, while we were 'talking' in her room she kissed me."

"What?" said Annabelle.

"and tried to make love to me."

"WHAT?!" said Annabelle and I together.

"Right. Now you know why we have to find Rory and find him now!"

"He's at his stag night…" said Amy.

"Well then…let's make it a great one," said The Doctor as he pulled a lever on the console.
