Day of the Moon

Three Months Later, The Doctor and I were sitting in the middle of a large yellow circle on a black platform, in a large hanger in Area 51. There were guards on each corner of the platform. We were taken there after the incident at the warehouse. Somehow, Annabelle was able to get herself, Amy, Rory, Mom, Dad and River out before the FBI arrived. Once The Doctor and I arrived at Area 51 we were put in straightjackets and chained to chairs. There were medical doctors who wanted to examine us but Canton absolutely forbid it under direct orders from President Nixon. We were questioned daily but The Doctor and I refused to say anything.

After three months of captivity, The Doctor and mine's hair was longer and The Doctor had a straggly beard. We saw Canton walking toward us. When he reached the edge of the circle he said, "We found Amy Pond and Amy Duncan. They both had strange markings on their arms." He showed us a photo of Amy's arm and Mom's arm. They both a large about of tally marks on them, "Do you know what they are?" he tossed folder of pictures on the floor close to us so we could see them the folder close to us so we could see the pictures.

"Why don't you ask them?" I asked.

Canton didn't answer and I realized what had happened. Then two scientists came and started to build a wall of black stones around us.

"We found Dr Song and Annabelle Duncan."

The Doctor watched the scientists, "These bricks, what are they made of?"

Then, I looked at Canton, "Where are they?"

"They ran. Off the 50th floor," he said. I looked down at the floor.

"I'd say zero balanced dwarf star alloy," said The Doctor, "The densest material in the universe. Nothing gets through that. You're building us the perfect prison."

I looked up at Canton, "And it still won't be enough."

Then, Canton smirked at me and walked out. Soon the cell was finished, Canton walked back in the cell and four soldiers came in dragging body bags, "Is there a reason you're doing this?" I asked, forcing back the tears.

"I want you to know where you stand." said Canton

"In a cell," said The Doctor.

"In the perfect cell," said Canton. Then the soldiers left. Canton continued, "Nothing can penetrate these walls. Not a sound, not a radio wave," he inserted his fingers into the holes in the wall. The door of the cell slide shut and sealed, "Not the tiniest particle of anything. In here, you are literally cut off from the rest of the universe. So I guess they can't hear us, right?"

I smiled for the first time in three months, "Good work, Canton. Is the door sealed?"

"You bet." he said.

The Doctor and I stood, shook off our chains, and removed our straightjackets just as the body bags sat up. The Doctor unzipped one of them and Rory was inside, "You OK?" he asked.

Canton opened a bag and inside was Amy, "Finally."

I opened one and Dad was inside, "These things could really do with air holes," said Dad.

"Never had a complaint before," said Canton.

I opened the bag that Mom was in and she said, "Isn't it going to look odd that you're staying in here with us?"

"Odd, but not alarming," said Canton, "They know there's no way out of this place."

"Exactly. Whatever they might think we're doing in here, they know we're not going anywhere," said The Doctor, as he snapped his suspenders and leaned on the cloaked TARDIS. He snapped his fingers and the doors opened, "Shall we?"

Then we all ran into the TARDIS, "What about Dr. Song and Annabelle?" asked Canton, "They dove off a rooftop!

"Don't worry. They do that," I said as I closed the doors and The Doctor and I ran to the console and quickly prepared the TARDIS for departure, "Amy, Rory, open all the doors to the swimming pool." I started the TARDIS into motion.

Amy and Rory ran off and Mom came up to me, "Why do Amy and Rory need to open the doors to the swimming pool?"

I smiled, "You'll see… Oh and you might want to stand clear of the doors." The TARDIS landed. I pull the door switch on the console and the doors opened. Then a couple of seconds later, Annabelle and River seemingly flew into the control room and into the swimming pool with a huge splash. I closed the doors and ran for the swimming pool.

When I got there River and Annabelle were just climbing out. She looked at me and smiled, "Hi, Mom…"

I didn't care if she was wet, I gave Annabelle a big hug, "Oh… I've missed you so much…" I looked at River, "Thanks for looking after her."

"It was more like she was looking after me," said River.

"Someone had to," said Annabelle. Then she looked at me, "She's worse than The Doctor at keeping out of trouble."

I laughed, "Come on let's get you some dry clothes…"

Once, River and Annabelle were changed we walked back into the control room. The Doctor was walking around the console, setting the controls, "So, we know they're everywhere," said The Doctor, "Not just a landing party, an occupying force. And they've been here a very, very long time. But nobody knows that, cos no one can remember them."

"So what are they up to?" asked Canton.

"No idea. But the good news is...we've got a secret weapon," said The Doctor as the TARDIS jolted to a stop. Then he ran out the door and we all followed after him. We found ourselves at Cape Kennedy and Apollo 11 on the launch pad.

"Apollo 11's your secret weapon?" asked River.

"No, no, it's not Apollo 11, that would be silly," I said then I smiled, "It's Neil Armstrong's foot."

We went back into the TARDIS. The Doctor and I both got hair cuts and he shaved. Then, we walked back into the console room with The Doctor carrying an injection gun. He walked up to Canton and before Canton could say anything, he took his hand and injected something to the palm of Canton's hand. "Ow!" said Canton.

"So, three months, what have we found out?" asked The Doctor as we walked over to Rory.

"Well, they are everywhere. Every state in America," said Rory as The Doctor took his hand and injected his palm, "Ow!"

"Not just America," I said, "the entire world." The Doctor took my hand and injected my palm, "Ow!"

"There's a greater concentration here though," said River.

The Doctor and I walked up to Amy and he injected her, "You OK?" asked The Doctor.

"All better." said Amy.

"Better?" I asked.

"Turns out I was wrong. I'm not pregnant." said Amy.

Just then Rory walked over to us, "What's up?"

"Nothing. Really, nothing, seriously."

"So you've seen them, but you don't remember them," said Canton.

"You've seen them too," said Annabelle, "That night at the warehouse, remember? While you were pretending to hunt us down we saw hundreds of those things. We still don't know what they look like." The Doctor took her hand and injected her palm, "Ow!"

"It's like they edit themselves out of your memory as soon as you look away," said Dad, "The exact second you're not looking at them, you can't remember anything." The Doctor took his hand and injected his palm, "Ow!"

"Sometimes you feel a bit sick though, but not always," said Amy.

"So that's why you marked your skin?" asked Canton.

"It was only way we'd know if we'd had an encounter," said Mom. The Doctor took her hand and injected her palm, "Ow!"

"How long have they been here?"

"That's what we've spent three months trying to find out." said Amy.

"Not easy, if you can't remember anything you discover," said Rory.

"But how long do you think?" asked Canton.

"As long as there's been something in the corner of your eye, or creaking in your house, or breathing under your bed, or voices through a wall. They've been running your lives for a very long time now." I said.

"So keep this straight in your head," said Annabelle, "We are not fighting an alien invasion, we're leading a revolution. And today the battle begins."

"How?" asked Canton.

"Like this," said The Doctor as he took River hand and injected her palm.

"Ow!" she said.

"Ha-ha! Nano recorder. Fuses with the cartilage in your hand," then The Doctor injected himself, "Ow! Then it tunes itself directly to the speech centers in your brain. It'll pick up your voice, no matter what. Telepathic connection. So the moment you see one of the creatures, you activate it." His palm started to glow red, "And describe aloud exactly what you're seeing."

He pressed his palm and the playback started, "And describe aloud exactly what you're seeing." said the recording of The Doctor.

Then The Doctor spoke "Because the moment you break contact, you're going to forget it happened. The light will flash if you've left yourself a message. You keep checking your hand. If you've had an encounter that's the first you'll know about it."

"Why didn't you tell me this before we started?" asked Canton.

"We did," I said, "But even information about these creatures erases itself over time," I pressed a few buttons on the console, "We couldn't refresh it, because we couldn't talk to you."

Canton looked over his shoulder and saw a hologram of the creature we were fighting, that Amy took with her phone while she and Annabelle went to the bathroom at the White House. "My God, how did it get in here?"

"Keep eye contact with the creature and when I say, turn back, and when you do, straighten The Doctor's bow tie," I said.

Canton turned back and straightens The Doctor's tie. We all just stared at him. "What?" he asked, "What are you staring at?"

"Look at your hand," said River.

Canton looked at his palm and saw it flashing red, "Why's it doing that?"

"What does it mean if the light's flashing?" asked Annabelle, "What did my mom just tell you?"

"I haven't…"

"Play it," said The Doctor.

Canton pressed his palm and a recording starting to play, "My God, how did it get in here?" said Canton's voice.

"Keep eye contact with the creature and when I say, turn back, and when you do, straighten The Doctor's bow tie," my voice said.

Canton started to turn around again, "What? What are you staring at?" said Canton's voice.

"Look at your hand," said River's voice.

Canton looked at the creature, and my uncle said, "It's a hologram, extrapolated from a photo on Amy's phone. Take a good long look." Then the hologram went away, "You just saw an image of one of the creatures we're fighting. Describe it to me." he snapped his fingers.

"I can't." said Canton.

"No. Neither can I," said The Doctor, "You straightened my bow tie because Teddy planted the idea in your head while you were looking at the creature."

"So they could do that to people," said Mom, "You could be doing stuff and not really knowing why you're doing it."

"Like post hypnotic suggestion," said Rory.

"Ruling the world with post hypnotic suggestion," said Amy.

"Now then, a little girl in a space suit," said The Doctor, "They got the suit from NASA, but where did they get the girl?"

"Could be anywhere," said Canton.

"Except they probably stayed close to that warehouse, because why bother doing anything else?" I said, "And they take her from somewhere to cause the least amount of attention. But you'll have to find her. The Doctor, Annabelle and I are off to NASA."

The Doctor used the scanner to zoom in on possible location in Florida, "Find her?" asked Dad, "Where do we look?"

"Children's homes," said The Doctor.

So, that's what happened. We sent the humans to check out orphanages and children's homes in Florida. Canton, Dad and Amy were one team. Mom, River, and Rory were on another team. While the humans did their investigating, us humans head to NASA. Thanks to the brilliance of my daughter we were able to make our way into the Apollo 11 capsule. We were doing some work on our plan when my phone started to ring. I took it out and saw it was Amy, "Amy?" I asked.

"I think we've found the place she was taken from."

"How do you know?" I asked.

"Cos those things have been here. But the whole place is deserted. There's just one guy here and I think he's lost it."

"Repeated memory wipes fry your head eventually. Find out what you can, but don't hang around."

"Where are you?" Before I could answer here I saw the door open and a group of men looking at us.

"Got to go!" I said, "We've got company!" then I ended the call.

"Don't worry," said The Doctor as he sat up, "I put everything back the way we found it. "Except this." He held up a piece of equipment in his hand, "There's always a bit left over, isn't there?" I put my hand to my head and started to shake my head.

The MPs handcuffed us and took us to a lecture room at Kennedy Space Center. They sat us in chairs and a couple of men questioned us while an MP stayed by the door, "One more time, sir. How the hell did you all get into the command module?" said one of the men.

"We told you!" said Annabelle, "We're on a top secret mission for the President."

Well, maybe if you just get President Nixon to assure us of that, sir, that would be swell.

"I sent him a message," I said.

The man laughed a little the double doors of the room opened behind him and President Nixon walked in with Mom, Rory and River, in period clothes acting as his aides. I could see behind them was the TARDIS, "Hello, I believe it's Mr. Gardner, is that correct? Head of security?" asked the President as he shook the hand of the man who was questioning us.

"Ah, yes, sir. Yes, Mr President," said Mr. Gardner.

"Mr Grant, is it?" the President asked the second man.

"Yes, Mr President," said Mr. Grant, as he shook the President's hand.

"The hopes and dreams of millions of Americans stand here today, at Cape Kennedy, and you are the men who guard those dreams. On behalf of the American people, I thank you."

"You're welcome, Mr President," said Mr. Gardner.

"I understand you have a baby on the way, Mr Grant?"

"Yes, Mr President." he answered.

"What are you hoping for, a boy or a girl?"

"Just a healthy American, sir."

"A healthy American will do just nicely," the President then gave Mr. Grant a friendly shoulder punch, "Now, fellas, listen. This three here- codenames, The Doctor, The Bear, and The General-are doing some work for me, personally. Could you cut them a little slack?"

"Er, Mr President, he did break into Apollo 11." said Mr. Gardner.

The Doctor mouthed, "Sorry". to Nixon.

"Well, I'm sure they had a very good reason for that. But I need you to release them now, so they can get on with some very important work for the American people. Could you do that for me?" asked Nixon.

"Well…" said Mr. Grant.

"Son, I am your Commander-in-Chief."

"Then I guess that would be fine, Mr President," said Mr. Gardner.

"Glad to hear it." said Nixon.

The MP came over and uncuffed us we all stood and shook Mr. Grant and Mr. Gardner's hands, "Thank you!" said The Doctor then we all headed for the TARDIS.

"Carry on, gentlemen," I heard Nixon say.

"America salutes you," said Rory.

Then once we were all in the TARDIS we headed back to the White House. The Doctor was giving the president some instructions, "You have to tape everything that happens in this office, every word, or we won't know if you're under the influence." he told Nixon.

"Doctor, you have to give me more than this. What were you doing to Apollo 11?" asked Nixon.

"A thing. A clever thing. No more questions. You have to trust me and my nieces and nobody else."

Just then River opened the door of the TARDIS, "Doctor, Teddy, it's Canton! Quick, he needs us!" Annabelle locked into Canon's call and soon we were in front of Greystark Hall, an orphanage Amy, Canton and Dad were checking out. We went inside and heard Amy call out, "Help me! Please, I can't, I can't see! Somebody help me!"

We heard banging coming from upstairs and then we started to run up the stairs and Canton say, "Amy!" Then he pounded on the door, "Amy, can you hear me? Amy, I'm going to try to blow the lock. I need you to stand back."

We reached Canton and Dad. They were standing by a door and Canton had his gun raised ready to shoot the lock off, "OK, gun down, I've got it!" said The Doctor, "Amy, we're here. Are you OK?" The Doctor took out his sonic and used it on the lock.

"I can't see!" said Amy.

The Doctor opened the door and we went in. When we got inside, Amy wasn't there. But on the floor was the spacesuit from the warehouse, "Where is she?" asked Rory.

We went over to the suit and I scanned it with my sonic. River opened the visor, "It's empty."

Then Amy's voice called out, "It's dark, it's so dark. I don't know where I am. Please, can anybody hear me?"

We looked down and found Amy's nanorecorder blinking on the floor. Rory picked it up, "They took this out of her? How did they do that, Doctor?" Amy started to sob, "Why can I still hear her?"

"Is it a recording?" asked River.

Annabelle scanned the recorder with her sonic, "If it's taken out, it defaults to live. Wherever she is right now, this is what she's saying."

Rory spoke into the recorder, "Amy, can you hear me? We're coming for you. Wherever you are, we're coming, I swear."

"She can't hear you. I'm so sorry. It's one way."

"She can always hear me, Annabelle. Always, wherever she is. She always knows that I am coming for her, do you understand me? Always."

"Doctor, are you out there? Can you hear me? Teddy? Annabelle? Oh, God. Please, please, Doctor, just get me out of this."

"He's coming. I'll bring him, I swear." said Rory into the recorder.

Just then a man walked into the room. Dad told me later that it was Mr. Renfrew, who ran the orphanage, "Hello, is someone in there? Who? I think someone has been shot. I think we should help. We... I can't... I can't remember."

Mr. Renfew took us down to his office were we saw one of the creatures on the floor. It backed away as us Time Lords knelt next to us, "OK. Who and what are you?" asked The Doctor.

"Silence, Doctor," said the creature as it held it's wound, "We are the Silence. And silence will fall."

We took Canton and the Slience to Area 51 to get the alien taken care of while the rest of us took the spacesuit back to the warehouse to examine it. The Doctor, Annabelle, River and I were examine the suit. Mom, Dad and Rory stood off to the side. Rory was just looking at Amy's recorder. On a black and white TV nearby the launch of Apollo 11 was being shown , "The target for the Apollo 11 astronauts, the moon, at lift off, will be at a distance of 218,096 miles away. We're just past the two minute mark on the countdown. T minus one minute 54 seconds and counting…"

"It's an exo-skeleton," said River, "Basically, life support. There's about 20 different kinds of alien tech in here.

"But who was she?" I asked, "Why put her in here?"

"Put this on, you don't even need to eat. The suit processes sunlight directly. It's got built in weaponry and a communications system that can hack into anything."

"Including the telephone network?" asked The Doctor.

"Easily," said River.

"But, why would it call the President?" asked Annabelle.

"It defaults to the highest authority it can find. The little girl gets frightened, the most powerful man on Earth gets a phone call. The night terrors with a hotline to the White House."

River looked up and said, "You won't learn anything from that envelope, you know." I turned and saw what she was looking at. The Doctor was sniffing the envelope her envelope and then licking it."

"Purchased on Earth," said The Doctor, "perfectly ordinary stationery, TARDIS blue. Summoned by a stranger who won't even show his face. That's a first for me. How about you?"

"Our lives are back to front. Your future's my past, your firsts are my lasts."

"Not really what I asked."

"Ask something else then."

"Why are the Silence raising a child?" I asked.

"Keeping her safe. Even giving her independence." said River.

"The only way to save Amy is to figure out what the Silence are doing," said Annabelle.

"I know," said Rory.

"Every single thing we learn about them brings us a step closer," said The Doctor.

"Yeah, Doctor, I get it, I know."

"Of course, it's possible she's not just any little girl," I said.

"Well, I'd say she's human, going by the life support software," said River.

"But?" said The Doctor.

"She climbed out of this suit. Like she forced her way out. She must be incredibly strong."

"Incredibly strong and running away. I like her," said Annabelle, with a smile.

"We should be trying to find her," said River.

"Yes, I know, but how?" said The Doctor.

"I have the strangest feeling she's going to find us," I said.

"This is Houston, do you read? Over," said the voice Mission Control on TV.

"Why does it look like a NASA space suit?" asked Mom.

The Doctor walked to the TV, "Because that's what the Silence do. Think about it. They don't make anything themselves. They don't have to. They get other life forms to do it for them."

"So they're parasites then?" asked River.

"Super parasites," said The Doctor, "Standing in the shadows of human history since the very beginning. We know they can influence human behavior any way they want. If they've been doing that on a global scale for thousands of years…"

"Then what?" asked Dad.

"Then why did the human race suddenly decide to go to the moon?"

"Ten, nine, ignition sequence start, six, five, four…" said Mission Control on TV.

"Because the Silence needed a space suit," I said.

"..one, zero, all engines on. Lift off. We have a lift off. 32 minutes past the hour, lift off on Apollo 11."

A little while later, there was a beeping from The Doctor's jacket pocket. He took out River's handheld. I looked at the screen and he pressed a button on the screen and a video of the Silence popped on to the screen, "You should kill us all on sight." said the Silence.

I smiled, "Good job, Canton." The Doctor closed up the handheld. I heard Amy's sobbing over the nanorecorder as The Doctor and I went back over to River and Annabelle who were still scanning the suit, "The suit seems to be repairing itself," said Annabelle, "How is it doing that?"

River looked at us, "Doctor, a unit like this, would it ever be able to move without an occupant?"

"Why?" he asked.

"Well, the little girl said the space man was coming to eat her. Maybe that's exactly what happened."

Just then we heard Amy start to talk through the nanorecorder. I turned and saw Rory sitting on the floor with his back against a packing crate, "I love you. I know you think it's him. I know you think it ought to be him. But it's not, it's you. And when I see you again, I'm going tell you properly, just to see your stupid face. My life was so boring before you just dropped out of the sky." Rory dropped his head. The Doctor started to walk over to him I joined him and I motioned for Annabelle to come with me and the three of us walked over to him, "So just get your stupid face where I can see it. OK? OK?"

The Doctor sat down next to him on either side, Annabelle sat down across from him, "She'll be safe for now. No point in a dead hostage." said Annabelle.

"Can't you save her?" asked Rory.

"We can track that signal back and it will take us right to her," I said.

"Then why haven't you?"

"Because then what?" said The Doctor, "We find her, and then what do we do? This isn't an alien invasion. They live here. This is their empire. This is kicking the Romans out of Rome."

"Rome fell," said Rory.

"I know. I was there."

"So was I."

"Rory… Can I asked you a personal question?" I asked

"What is it?"

"Do you ever remember being the Last Centurion? Waiting 2,000 years for Amy…""

"No," said Rory.

Annabelle looked at him, "Are you lying?"

"Course I'm lying."

"Course you are," said The Doctor, "Not the sort of thing anyone forgets."

"But I don't remember it all the time. It's like there's… a door in my head. I can keep it shut."

Just then Amy started to talk again , "Please come and get me. Come and get me." she started to sob some more.

The Doctor stood and listened

We had heard enough. We loaded everyone back into the TARDIS and locked onto Amy's signal. As we started to land in the Silence ship, I looked at Mom and Dad and told them to stay in the TARDIS while the rest of us went out to deal with the Silence. Me, Annabelle, The Doctor, River and Rory stepped out of the TARDIS. There were a group of Silence and Amy was strapped down to a table. The Doctor was carrying the TV and River had her blaster out. The Doctor looked around and said, "Oh! Interesting. Very Aickman Road, seen one of these before. Abandoned, wonder how that happened. Oh, well! I suppose I'm about to find out."

I shook my head "Rory, River, keep one Silent in eyeshot at all times."

"Oh, hello, sorry," said The Doctor to the Silence that was staring at us, "You're in the middle of something. Just had to say though, have you seen what's on the telly? Hello, Amy, you all right? Want to watch some television?" He set the TV on the console. "Ah, now, stay where you are. Because look at me, I'm confident. You want to watch that, me, when I'm confident."

"This is our friend, River," said Annabelle, "As you can see she has a blaster and she really doesn't mind shooting people. I know you're team players and everything, but she'll definitely kill at least the first three of you."

"The first seven, easily."

"Seven, really?"

River nodded, "Impressive," said Annabelle, "Anyway, as I was saying, our naughty friend here is going kill the first three of you to attack, plus him behind us. So maybe you want to draw lots to see who makes the first move."

I walked around the console and said, "Or maybe you could just listen a minute, because all we really want to do is accept your total surrender, and then we'll let you go in peace. You've been interfering in human history for thousands of years. People have suffered and died. But what's the point in two hearts, if you can't be a bit forgiving now and then."

The Doctor stared into the leader's face, "Ooh! The Silence. You guys take that seriously, don't you?" There was a pause and the Doctor continued, "OK, you got me, we're lying. We're not really going to let you go that easily. Nice thought, but it's not Christmas. First," he turned on the TV, "You tell me about the girl. Who is she? Why is she important? What's she for?"

There was no answer and I said, "Guys, sorry. But you're out of time. Now, a little history for you." I pulled out the TV antennas, "Do you know how many people are watching this live on the TV? Half a billion, and that's nothing, because the human race will spread out among the stars."

" Billions and billions of them, for billions and billions of years. And every single one of them, at some point in their lives, will look back at this man, taking that very first step, and they will never, ever forget it," said Annabelle

The Doctor watched as the moon landing unfolded, "Oh." said The Doctor as he took his phone out, "But they'll forget this bit." he spoke into his phone, "Ready?"

"Ready," said Canton on the other end.

We watched on TV a familer sight I had seen many time over the course of my life. Both as a Time Lord and as a human. I watched Neil Armstrong climb out of the Landing Module "That's one small step for man…" he said.

But the broadcast was interrupted with the video of the Silence that Canton recorded earlier, "You should kill us all on sight." said the Silence.

It repeated a couple of times then Annabelle said, "You've given the order for your own execution, and the whole planet just heard you."

"…One giant leap for mankind," finished Neil Armstrong.

"And one whacking great kick up the backside for the Silence!" said The Silence.

"You just raised an army against yourself." I said, "And now, for a thousand generations, you're going to be ordering them to destroy you every day."

"How fast can you run? Because today's the day the human race throw you off their planet." said The Doctor. Then the leader of the Silence moved toward us and we started to back away, "They won't even know they're doing it. I think, quite possibly the word you're looking for right now is, "Oops!" Run!" There was a pause, then he looked at the rest of us, "Guys, I mean us! Run!"

The Silence started to screech and lighting surrounded them as they shot beams of energy at us, Rory ran over to Amy, "I can't get her out!"

"Go, just go!" shouted Amy.

"We are not leaving without you!"

"Will you just get your stupid face out of here?!"

Rory stopped and looked at Amy. Then River said, "Right, into the TARDIS, quickly!"

I went up to Amy and used my sonic to unlock the straps to the table. Rory helped her up and took her to the TARDIS. Annabelle and I followed while River and The Doctor covered us, "Don't let them build to full power!" said The Doctor.

"I know. There's a reason why I'm shooting!" said River. "What are you doing?"

"Helping."

"You've got a screwdriver. Go build a cabinet!"

"That's really rude!"

"Shut up and drive!"

Us three Time Lords went into the TARDIS while Annabelle and I prepare for departure. A few moments later, Canton and River joined us inside. River walked up to the console and pushed my uncle away from the console, "You can let me fly it!" he said.

"Or we could go where we're supposed to."

I smiled and looked over at Amy who was walking over to Rory who was standing by the door. "What's the matter with you?" she asked him.

"You called me stupid," he said.

"I always call you stupid."

"No, but... my face," said Rory. Amy reached out and opened Rory's hand and saw her recorder, "I wasn't sure who you were talking about. You know, me, or…"

"Him?"

"Well, you did say, 'Dropped out of the sky.'"

"It's a figure of speech, moron!"

I smiled as Amy and Roy kissed. "Thanks." said Rory.

"You're welcome."

We went back to the Oval Office to drop off Canton and debrief the President. Nixon shook our hands and said, "So we're safe again."

"Safe?" said The Doctor, "No, of course you're not safe. There's a billion other things out there, waiting to burn your whole world. But if you want to pretend you're safe, just so you can sleep at night, OK, you're safe. But you're not really."

I shook my head and looked at Canton, "Until next time…" I shook hands with him,

"Looking forward to it." he said.

I looked at the President, "Canton just wants to get married. Not the best reason to kick him out of the FBI."

"I'm sure something can be arranged." said Nixon.

"I'm counting on you."

"Er, Teddy... Canton here tells me you and your family are... from the future. Hardly seems possible, but I was wondering…"

"I should warn you, I don't answer a lot of questions."

"But I'm a President at the beginning of his time. Dare I ask? Will I be remembered?"

I smiled, "Believe me Mr. President. They're never going to forget you."

Us Time Lords headed for the TARDIS and The Doctor said, "Say hi to David Frost for me."

"David Frost?" said Nixon.

Then we got in the TARDIS and head off. We dropped Mom and Dad off in Utah. They drove there from Denver. Then we headed off to return River to Stormcage.

Us Time Lords were standing with her by her open cell and The Doctor said, "You could come with us."

"I escape often enough, thank you," said River, "And I have a promise to live up to. You'll understand, soon enough."

"OK, up to you." Then we walked back to the TARDIS, "See you next time. Call me."

"What, that's it? What's the matter with you three?"

We all looked at each other, "Did we forget something?" I asked.

"Oh, shut up." said River. Then she came up and pulls us all into a big group hug.

It was a little strange then she broke the hug, "What's wrong? You're acting like we've never done that before."

"We haven't." said Annabelle.

"We haven't?" asked River.

"Oh, look at the time, must be off," said The Doctor, "But it was very nice. It was good. It was unexpected. You know what they say, there's a first time for everything." then we got in the TARDIS.

As we walked in the TARDIS, I thought I heard River said, "And a last time."

Once we were inside the TARDIS we walked up to the console. The Doctor looked at Rory, "Rory, I'm going to need thermo couplings. The green ones and the blue ones."

"OK, hold on." said Rory as left.

Us Time Lords looked at Amy, "So."

"So?" she asked.

"You're OK?" I asked.

"Fine. Head's a bit weird. There's lots of stuff I can't quite remember. "

"Its an after effect of the Silence. But, that's not what I was asking. You told us you were pregnant."

"Yes."

"Why?" asked Annabelle.

"Because I was," said Amy, "I thought I was. Turns out I wasn't."

"No. Why did you tell us?" asked The Doctor.

"You're my friends. You're my best friends."

"Did you tell Rory?" asked Annabelle.

"No." said Amy.

"Amy, why tell us and not Rory?" I asked.

"Why do you think? I traveled with you three in this TARDIS for so long. All that time. If I was pregnant for some of it, wouldn't it have had an effect? I don't want to tell Rory, this baby might have three heads, or like a time head or something."

"What's a time head?" asked The Doctor.

"I don't know, but what if it had one?" asked Amy.

"A time head?" I asked.

"Shut up, all right!" The four of us laughed then Amy called out, "Oi! Stupid face."

Rory made his way back up to the console, "Er, yeah. Hello.

Amy saw the recorder in his hand, "Taking that away from you, if you're going to listen in all the time."

"OK, that's a fair point," said Rory, as he walked up to her, "But you should've told me that you thought you were pregnant. I'm a nurse, I'm good with pregnancy."

"Not, as it turns out, that good. So can you stop being stupid?" She and Rory hugged.

"Er, no. Never!" he swung her around in the hug making Amy laugh, "I'm never, ever going to stop being stupid!"

"So," The Doctor said as he clapped his hands together, "this little girl," he pulled the monitor over to him, "it's all about her. Who was she? Or we could just go off and have some adventures. Anyone in the mood for adventures? I am. You only live once."

Amy and Rory looked at each other then back at us and smiled. We smiled back and looked at the monitor. The Doctor was running a full body scan on Amy to see if she was pregnant or not. As the scan continued to run it kept switching between positive and negative.

A/N: Can you believe it? At the time of this posting we are days away from the start of Series 8 of Doctor Who! I can't wait to see what happens this time around. So, haven't gotten any guesses as to who River is to the Time Lords… A bit disappointed about that… But, I would love to read your reviews and to those of you who read Liv and Maddie's Adventures in Time and Space. Thank you, I'm glad you are enjoying that one as well. As always tell me your thoughts about this story both positive and negative.
