Let's Kill Hitler

It had been several months since we last saw Amy and Rory. There were several leads on Melody but they didn't lead anywhere. We decided to drop in and surprise them but when we got to their house they weren't there. The paper was on the front step. I picked it up and shook my head. The headline read , "Leadworth's Crop Circle" I opened the paper and the picture of the 'crop circle' was 'Doctor' written in cursive in a wheat field, with a line going through the word. I showed the paper to The Doctor and Annabelle. He smiled, "Let's go…"

We locked in on the time that Amy and Rory made the 'crop circle' We landed the TARDIS in the middle of the second 'o' in Doctor that Amy and Rory and filled in. We walked out of the TARDIS and watched as the Mini that Rory and Amy used to make the 'crop circle' came to a stop. They got out of the car and The Doctor showed them the paper, "Seriously?"

"You never answer your phone," said Rory, as he closed the car door.

"Well, we have been kind of busy," I said.

Amy walked up to us, "OK, you've had all summer. Have you found her? Have you found Melody?"

The Doctor handed Rory the paper, "Permission?"

"Granted," said Rory.

We all gave Amy a group hug and Annabelle said, "You know who she grows up to be, so you know we WILL find her."

Amy ended the hug and asked, "But you haven't yet?"

"Hang on, what's this bit?" said Rory. He showed us the picture in the paper.

"That wasn't us." said Amy.

The Doctor grabbed the paper from Rory and tried to locate where the line would bee in the circle. The four of us walked behind The Doctor. We heard an engine and The Doctor lowered the paper just in time to see a red Corvette coming at us. We all screamed and dove out of the way. The car stopped inches away from the TARDIS and a young black woman steps out of the car. Amy, Rory, Annabelle and I stood while The Doctor was laying on the ground at the woman's feet, "You said he was funny, you never said he was hot," said the woman.

"Mels?" said Rory.

"What are you doing here?" asked Amy.

"Following you, what do you think?" said Mels.

Annabelle and I went to The Doctor to help him up.

"Um, where did you get the car?" asked Rory.

"It's mine…" said Mels. Just then we heard police sirens in the distance. "..ish."

"Oh, Mels, not again?" said Amy.

"You can't keep doing this," said Rory, "You'll end up in prison."

"Sorry, hello, Time Lords not following this.," said Annabelle, "Time Lords very lost."

"You never said I was hot?!" asked The Doctor.

I smacked him upside the head, "Focus."

Mels pointed at the TARDIS, "Is that the phone box! The bigger-on-the-inside phone box?" Mels rubbed the side of the box, "Time travel - that's just brilliant." The three of us Time Lards stood next to the TARDIS in front of Mels and she said, "Yeah, I've heard a lot about you lot. I'm their best mate."

"Then why don't we know you?" I asked.

"I danced with everyone at the wedding," said The Doctor, "The women were all brilliant, the men were a bit shy."

"I don't do weddings." said Mels, as the police sirens got closer, "And that's me out of time." Then she pulled a gun on us.

"Mels!" said Amy.

"For God's sake!" said Rory.

"What are you doing?"

"I need out of here, now!" said Mels.

"Anywhere in particular?" asked The Doctor.

"Well, let's see! You've got a time machine, I've got a gun. What the hell - let's kill Hitler."

We all went into the TARIDS and Annabelle, The Doctor and I started to work on setting the coordinates. Annabelle wanted to use her military training to take out Mels but I shot that down because I didn't want her to take the chance at having someone get hurt or in Amy and Rory's cases killed. Just then a shot rang out, I ducked and when I stood up I saw a bullet hole in the time-rotor casing, "You've shot it!" shouted The Doctor.

Amy and Rory where hanging on to the console. Mels was hanging onto the railing, "You shot our TARDIS!" shouted Annabelle, "You shot the console!"

"It's her fault!" said Mels as she pointed at me.

"What?!" I shouted, "How's it my fault?!"

"You said guns didn't work in this place. You said we're in a state of temporal grace."

I rolled my eyes as us Time Lords franticly worked on flying the TARDIS through the Time Vortex, "That was a lie, you idiot! Anyone could tell that was a lie!"

We came out of the Time Vortex but we had no control over landing, "Hang On!" I shouted at the TARDIS began to spin out of control. There was a jolt ant I looked at the monitor and saw us crash through a window and end up half buried in a wall on the other side of the room. Smoke started pouring out of the rotor column. Us Time Lords ran for the door, "Out!" shouted the Doctor, "out, out! Everybody out. Don't breathe the smoke, just get out!"

"Where are we?" asked Amy.

"A room" I said.

"What room?" asked Rory.

"I don't know! I haven't memorized every room in the universe."

Mel tried to go back inside the TARDIS but The Doctor stopped her, "Mels, don't go in there!" then he took her gun.

"Oi!" said Mels

"Bad smoke! Don't breathe the bad, bad, smoke. Bad, deadly smoke, because somebody shot my TARDIS!"

"Doctor, this guy, I think he's hurt," I turned and saw Rory kneeling next to an older man in glasses, lying on the floor. Amy knelt beside him then Rory said, "No, hang on. No, he's... he's fine."

The Doctor put the Mels' gun in the fruit bowl on the desk. Then a man came up from behind the desk, "Ooh, hello! Sorry, is this your office?" asked The Doctor, "Had a sort of collision with my vehicle. Faults on both sides, let's say no more about…" The man turned around and we saw who it was Adolf Hitler, "…it." finished The Doctor.

Amy, Rory, Annabelle and I came up beside The Doctor.

"Is that...?" asked Amy, "No, it can't be, Doctor?"

"Thank you," said Hitler, "Whoever you are, I think you have just saved my life."

"Believe me…" said Annabelle, "it was an accident."

Hitler looked at the TARDIS, "What is this thing?" then he walked over to it.

"What did he mean we saved his life?" asked Amy, "We could not have saved Hitler."

"You see?" I said, "You see, time travel, it never goes to plan."

"This box, what is it?" asked Hitler.

The Doctor walked toward Hitler, "It's a police telephone box from London, England. That's right, Adolf, the British are coming!"

Behind The Doctor, the man that was on the floor stood up, "No, stop him!" shouted Hitler, then he pulled his gun and fired at the man. Rory punched Hitler on the chin, knocking him to the floor. Rory picked up his gun and aimed it at Hitler.

"Sit still, shut up," said Rory.

Hitler put his hands up while Amy helped the man up, "Are you OK?"

"Yes, yes," said the man, "Yes. I'm fine. I think he missed."

"He was going to kill me," said Hitler.

"Shut up, Hitler!" ordered Rory.

"Rory, take Hitler and put him in that cupboard over there now. Do it!"

"Right, putting Hitler in the cupboard. Cupboard, Hitler. Hitler, cupboard." Rory pulled Hitler to his feet, "Come on."

"But I am the Fuhrer!" said Hitler.

"Right, in you go!" then Rory shoved him into the cupboard.

"Who are you?" asked Hitler as Rory closed the door and locked it.

I walked over to the man, "Are you OK?" I looked at the man and something didn't seem right about him.

"Oh, I…" then he faint backwards onto the floor.

"I think he just fainted." said Rory.

"Yes, that was a faint," I said, "A perfect faint."

"Mels?" asked Amy.

I turned and saw Mels with a hand on her stomach, "Hitler…"

"What about him?" asked Annabelle.

"Lousy shot" then Mels fell to the floor.

We all ran over to her. (falls to the floor)

"Mels! Mels!" said Amy as we all ran over and kelt next to her."

"Rory!" called The Doctor.

"No, no, no!" said Rory, as he went to work, "I've got to stop the bleeding!"

Amy started stroking Mels' hair, "How bad is it? Rory, what can we do?" she asked.

"Just keep her conscious!" said Rory, "Stay with us, Mels."

"Hey, look at me," I said as I took the woman's hand, "Just hold on."

"I used to dream about you three," said Mels, "All those stories Amy told me."

"What stories?" asked The Doctor, "Tell me what stories. Vampires in Venice, that's a belter."

"When I was little, I was going to travel with you."

"Good idea. You live and we'll take you wherever you want deal? Deal?"

"Shouldn't you ask my parents permission?"

I was a bit puzzled at that, "If you want…" I said, "As soon as you're well, we'll get them on the phone."

"Might as well do it now, since all three of them are right here." My eyes got big as I realized what Mels' was telling us.. "Penny in the air." Us Time Lords stood as Mels started to glow with regeneration energy, "Penny drops!"

"What the hell's going on?" asked Rory.

Annabelle and I quickly backed away from Mels. The Doctor grabbed Amy and Rory and pulled them away from Mels, "Back! Back! Back! Get back!"

Mels got on her feet, "Last time I did this, I ended up a toddler in the middle of New York."

The rest of us stood against the desk.

"OK, Doctor, Teddy, Annabelle, explain what is happening? Please!" asked Amy.

"What's Mels short for..?" asked Annabelle.

"Melody." said Mels.

"Yeah, I named our daughter after her," said Amy as she looked at Annabelle.

"You named our daughter…" said Annabelle, "after our daughter."

"Took me years to find you two," said Mels, "I'm so glad I did. And, you see, it all worked out in the end, didn't it? You got to raise me after all."

"You're Melody?" asked Amy.

"But if she's Melody, that means she's also…" said Rory.

"Oh, shut up, Dad! I'm focusing on a dress size," shouted Mels.

Mels screamed as her regeneration took hold and she was covered in regeneration energy. When it was over Mels was gone and River Song was in her place all though she wasn't River Song yet. She panted as she regain her breathing, "Right, let's see, then. Ooh, it's all going on down there, isn't it? The hair!" she ran to a mirror, "Oh! The hair, it just doesn't stop, does it? Look at that! Everything changes! Oh, but I love it, I love it!" then she turned to us, "I'm all sort of... Mature!" she put her foot on a table and attempting to look seductive, "Hello, Benjamin!"

The Doctor covered his eyes and looked at me, "Who's Benjamin?"

I rolled my eyes, "'The Graduate'"

"Right…" said The Doctor.

"The teeth!' said Melody as she looked in the mirror, "The teeth, the teeth!" Then she ran over to us, "Oh, look at them!" she walked up to The Doctor, "Watch out! That bow tie! Excuse me, you lot, I need to weigh myself!" Then she ran to the bathroom.

The five of us left in the room just stood there stunned, "That's Melody?" asked Amy

"That's River Song," said Rory.

Just then we herd Melody ask, "Who's River Song?"

We all turned and looked at her, "Spoilers," I said.

"Spoilers? What's spoilers? Hang on, just something I have to check!" she ran back into the bathroom.

"Is anybody else finding today just a bit difficult?" asked Rory, "I'm getting a sort of banging in my head."

"Yeah, I think that's Hitler in the cupboard," said Amy.

"That's not helping."

"This isn't the River Song we know yet," said Annabelle as she walked to the center of the room. The rest of us followed her, She turned and looked at us, "This is her right at the start. She doesn't even know her name."

"Ah, that's magnificent!" said Melody. We turned and saw her leaning with her hand against the door jamb, "I'm going to wear LOTS of jumpers! Well, now, enough of all that!" then she pulled a gun and aimed it at us, "Down to business."

"Any reason you're pointing a gun as us?" I asked nonchalantly

"A few," she said with a smirk.

"Annabelle, what's she doing?" asked Rory

"What she's programmed to," said Annabelle sadly.

"Where'd she get the gun?"

"She took it off the seat of the chair next to the table when she said 'Hello, Benjamin.'"

"You noticed!" said Melody. Melody fired but the gun was empty.

"Of course I noticed," said Annabelle, as she walked up to Melody. " As soon as I knew you were coming, I tidied up a bit."

Melody threw the gun away, "I know you did," she reached into her vest.

"I know you know," said Annabelle, "I saw you reach for the gun The Doctor put in the fruit bowl on Hitler's desk."

Melody looked down at the banana instead of a gun in her hand. "Goodness, is killing you lot going to take all day?"

"Why?" asked The Doctor as he took the banana from Melody, "Are you busy?"

"Oh, I'm not complaining," Melody grabbed the letter opener off of Hitler's desk and swiped at The Doctor. I used my sonic to make her drop it.

"If you were in a hurry, you could've killed us in the cornfield," I said.

"We'd only just met," said Melody as she turned arund, "I'm a psychopath. I'm not rude." she turn back with the gun from the fruit bow and fired, but Annabelle had all ready removed the clip from it. She show it to Melody with a smile on her face.

"You were not a psychopath!" said Amy, "Why would she be a psychopath?"

Melody started to walk toward us, slowly circling us Time Lords as we did the same to her, "Oh, Mummy, Mummy, pay attention," said Melody, "I was trained and conditioned for one purpose. I was born to kill The Doctor and his nieces."

"Demons Run, remember?" said The Doctor, "This is what they were building, our bespoke psychopath."

The four of us ended up face-to-face, "I'm all yours, sweeties." Then, she gave each one of us a kiss.

"Only River Song gets to call us that," I said.

"And who is River Song?" asked Melody.

"An old friend of ours," said Annabelle.

"Stupid name," said Melody, then she walked toward the window, "Oh, look at that!" she stepped onto the sill, "Berlin on the eve of war. A whole world about to tear itself apart. Now that's my kind of town," she turned and looked right at Amy and Rory, "Mum, Dad, don't follow me. And, yes, that is a warning."

"No warning for me, then?" asked Annabelle as she stepped forward.

"No need, Mother Dearest," River said with a smile, "The deed is done and so are you, your mother, and your uncle."

Just then I felt week and dropped to my knees and I felt a sharp pain in my chest, "Doctor, what's wrong?"

"What have you done? River!" I screamed as I collapsed on the floor.

"Oh, River, River, River! More than a friend, I think," said Melody.

"What have you done?!" shouted Annabelle.

"It was never going to be a gun for you three. A man and woman of peace." then Melody looked at Annabelle, "The woman who understands every kind of warfare, except, perhaps, the cruelest." I put my fingers up to my lip and realized it was the kiss. "Kiss, kiss." Melody then blew us a kiss and jumped outside.

"What's wrong with you all?" asked Rory, "What's she done to you?"

"She poisoned us…" I said as Amy and Rory helped us to our feet.

"But I'm fine," said The Doctor, "Well, no, we're dying, but I've got a plan."

"What plan?

"We're not dying. See, fine!" said The Doctor.

"OK, what do we do?" asked Rory, "How do we help you?"

"Take this!" said Annabelle as she handed Amy her sonic screwdriver, "The TARDIS can home in on it. Now, go after her!" Then, she pushed Rory towards the window.

Us Time Lords headed for the TARDIS with Amy close behind, "You said the smoke was deadly."

"The smoke's fine," I said, "The poison will kill us first. Now, go after River!"

"I don't understand, OK?" asked Amy, "One minute she's wanting to travel with you and then kill you."

"Ah, well, she's been brainwashed, it makes sense to her," said The Doctor, "Plus, she is a woman," Amy, Annabelle and I all looked at The Doctor, "Oh, shut up, I'm dying." Then, us Time Lords went into The TARDIS.

The Doctor closed the door and we leaned against it, "Extractor fans on!" I shouted. The fans turned on and sucked the smoke away.

"Oh! That works!" said The Doctor, as we made our way to the console.

We all fell to the floor at the base of the console, "We're shutting down," said The Doctor as we sat on the floor against the railing. "Going to need an interface."

"Voice interface." I called, "Hurry up it's an emergency."

Just then a hologram of The Doctor appeared, "Voice interface enabled."

"Oh, no, no, no, no! Give me someone I like," said The Doctor. The hologram changed to Rose, "Oh, thanks! Give me guilt!" The hologram changed to Martha, "Also guilt!" The Hologram changed to Donna, "More guilt. Come on, there must be someone left in the universe we haven't screwed up yet."

The hologram changed to my Mom, "Voice interface enabled."

I smiled, "My Mom… Perfect…"

"I am not Amy Duncan. I am a voice interface."

I rolled my eyes, "I know that… How are we doing?"

"Your systems have been contaminated by the poison of the Judas tree," said Holo-Mom, "You will all be dead in 32 minutes."

"OK, so, basically we need to regenerate…" said Annabelle.

"Regeneration disabled. You will all be dead in 32 minutes."

"Unless we're cured, yeah?" asked The Doctor.

"There is no cure. You will all be dead in 32 minutes," said Holo-Mom.

"Why do you keep saying that?" I asked

"Because you will all be dead in 32 minutes.

"You see, there you go again," said The Doctor, "Basically skipping 31 whole minutes when we're absolutely fine."

"You will all be fine for 31 minutes," said Holo-Mom, "You will all be dead in 32 minutes."

"River needs us," said Annabelle, "She's only just beginning, We can't die now."

"You will not die now. You will all die in 32 minutes."

"I'm going out in the first round. Ringing any bells?" said The Doctor as he tried to stand. Then he fell face-down on the floor, "OK, need something for the pain now. Come on, Amy. It's me. Please."

"I am not Amy Duncan. I am a voice interface," said Holo-Mom.

"Mom," I said. "Please there must be something…."

"I am not Amy Duncan. I am a voice interface."

I laid down on the floor and closed my eyes I heard my daughter plead, "Grandma... please…"

Then I heard Holo-Mom say, "Fish fingers and custard."

I opened my eyes and heard The Doctor said, "What did you say?"

I smiled and pushed myself off the floor and used the console to get to my feet, "I'm pretty sure she said, 'Fish fingers and custard!'" We all laughed and The Doctor and Annabelle both got to their feet.

"Oh, Grandma," said Annabelle, "Fish fingers and custard!"

"Fish... fingers... and... CUSTARD!" said The Doctor as he set the TARDIS in motion.

We locked on to Annabelle's sonic screwdriver and silently landed in a restaurant. We looked in the monitor and we saw Melody standing in front of a mirror trying on clothes. Amy was there too but something about her didn't seem quite right.

"You killed The Doctor and his nieces, Teddy and Annabelle Duncan," said Amy.

"Oh, yes, I know, dear. I hope you're not going to keep on about it," said Melody, as she put on an officer's cap, "Oh, regeneration, it's a whole new coloring to work with." then she too it off.

Amy moved around to face Melody, "You killed The Doctor, Teddy and Annabelle Duncan on the orders of the movement known as the Silence and Academy of the Question. You accept and know this to be true?"

"Quite honestly, I don't really remember. It was all a bit of jumble."

Amy pushed the mirror out of the way and opened her mouth and shot Melody with beam of energy that held her like a tractor beam and she cried out. We knew it was time for us to come out. We slowly walked to the door of the TARDIS. When we opened the door we heard Melody call out, "No! No! Get off me!"

Just then the Doctor spoke up, "Sorry, did you say she killed the Doctor?"

Amy closed her mouth and faced us, "The Doctor? Doctor Who?" said Annabelle.

"You're dying and you stopped to change?"

"Yes… Yes we did…" I said. We had changed into the same attire we wore to Amy's wedding. The Doctor was wearing a black suit and top hat, with a white tie and tails, he also had a white scarf hanging loosely around his shoulders. Annabelle was wearing a nice TARDIS blue blouse and black dress pants. I was wearing a simple TARDIS blue ankle length dress with short sleeves. Each of us were each holding a cane.

The Doctor did a spin, "Oh, you should always waste time when you don't have any." We walked down the steps and The Doctor twirled his cane, "Time is not the boss of you - Rule 408." We faced Amy, "Amelia Pond, judgment death machine. Why am I not surprised? Sonic canes!"

We pointed our canes at Amy, "Are you serious?" asked Melody.

"Never knowingly," said The Doctor, "Never knowingly be serious. Rule 27."

"You might want to write these down," I said as I checked the readings, "Oh, it's a robot! With 423 life signs inside. A robot worked by tiny people."

"Love it!" said The Doctor, "But how do you all get in there, though? Bigger on the inside?"

"No, basic miniaturization sustained by a compression field," said Annabelle.

"Oh, watch what you eat, it'll get you every time."

"Amy," I said, "if you and Rory are OK, signal me."

A couple of seconds later we got a signal from Annabelle's sonic screwdriver.

"Thank you," I said.

Just then we were all hit with a wave of pain that made it hard for us to keep standing. We all eased our way to the floor and The Doctor said, "Oops, sorry, leg went to sleep. Just had a quick left leg power nap, I forgot I had one scheduled. Actually, better sit down, I think I heard the right one yawning." The three of us sat down on the steps that lead to the TARDIS.

Melody ran for the door and Robot Amy shoot her with the energy beam, "Don't you touch her!" shouted Annabelle, "Do not harm her in any way!"

Robot Amy closed her mouth and Melody was caught in a containment field. "Why would you care? She is the women who kills you," said Robot Amy

"She's still my daughter," said Annabelle.

The Doctor took off his top hat, "and we're not dead."

"You're dying," said Robot Amy.

"Well, at least I'm not a time-travelling shape-shifting robot operated by miniaturized angry people, which, I have got to admit, I didn't see coming," I said. I pointed my cane at Melody, "What do you want with her?"

"She's Melody Pond. According to records, the woman who kills the Doctor and his nieces Teddy and Annabelle Duncan."

"And I'm the Doctor," said my uncle.

"And we're his nieces Teddy and Annabelle Duncan," said Annabelle, "what's it to you?

"Throughout history, many criminals have gone unpunished in their lifetimes," said Robot Amy. "Time travel has... Responsibilities."

Us Time Lords laughed, "What?" I said, "Let me get this straight… you have the ability to time travel, so you decided to punish dead people?

"We don't kill them. We extract them near the end of their established timelines."

"And then what?" asked Annabelle.

"Give them hell."

"I'd ask you who you think you are," said The Doctor, "But I think the answer is pretty obvious. So, who do you think we are?" he pointed is cane at Melody, "'The woman who killed the Doctor and his nieces'. It sounds like you've got our biography in there. We'd love a peek."

"Our records office is sealed to the public. Foreknowledge is dangerous," said Robot Amy.

"Yes, well, we'll be dead in three minutes," I said, "There isn't much foreknowledge left."

"Sorry, can't do that." Then a moment or two later she said, "Records available."

The Doctor stood with great effort, leaning heavily on the cane. While Annabelle and I remained sitting on the steps, "Question. Me and my nieces are dying... who wants us dead?"

"The Silence." said Robot Amy.

"What is the Silence?" I asked, "Why is it called that? What does it mean?"

"The Silence is not a species. It is a religious order, or movement. Their core belief is that silence will fall when the question is asked."

"What question?" asked Annabelle.

"The first question. The oldest question in the universe, hidden in plain sight," said Robot Amy.

"Yes, but what is the question?" asked The Doctor.

"Unknown."

"Well, fat lot of use that is, you big ginge! Call yourself a Records... Argh!" said The Doctor as he fell to the floor.

Annabelle and I also laid our sides, "Our kidneys are failing…" I said.

"Kidneys are always the first to quit. I've had better, you know," said The Doctor.

The field around Melody turned from white to red and looked like frame. She started to scream. The three of us Time Lords no longer had the energy to stand. We started to crawl across the floor toward her. "Amy! Rory!" called Annabelle, "Can you hear me?"

"What do we do?" asked Robot Amy, "This is me. This is me actually talking. What do we do?"

"Just stop them. She's our daughter, just stop them."

"How, how? How?"

"Just do it!"

A few moments later, Melody was freed from the field. We looked up at her, "Please, now we have to save your parents," said The Doctor.

"Don't run," said Annabelle, "Now, I know you're scared, but never run when you're scared. Rule 7. Please."

Melody looked at us and then at Robot Amy. I rolled over onto my back and closed my eyes. The pain was increasing. I could feel the tears form in my eyes. I was never going to see my Mom, Dad, brothers or sister again… and more than likely they would never know what happened to us. I heard Robot Amy call out, "Doctor, can here us? Teddy? Teddy, help us! Annabelle, help us! Doctor, please!"

I opened my eyes and saw The Doctor struggle to get to his feet. I stood up as well.. I turned and saw Annabelle stand as well. We slowly started walking toward the TARDIS as Robot Amy continued to plead for us to help. "Doctor! Teddy! Annabelle! Help!" We reached the steps and didn't have the energy to actually walk up the steps. So we tried to crawl up the steps and even that was a struggle.

"Look at you lot," said Melody, "You still care."

"Doctor! Help! Teddy, help us! Annabelle, Please help us." said Robot Amy.

"It's impressive, I'll give you that."

"River, please…" said The Doctor.

"Again?" said Melody "Who is this River? She's got to be a woman, am I right?" I heard her walk toward us. We slowly tried crawling up the stairs but we just couldn't move.

"Help us," I said, "Save Amy and Rory. Help us."

"Tell me about her. Go on."

"Aaargh…" growled The Doctor, "just... help me."

"How?"

"You are going to have to take the TARDIS into the robot and get Amy and Rory out…" said Annabelle.

"You are crazy…" said Melody, "I can't work that thing…"

"Yes.. You can… Come here…" said Annabelle. Melody was hesitant but then she kelt down next to Annabelle. "Come closer." Melody got closer. Annabelle took Melody's head in her hands.

"What are you doing?" asked Melody nervously.

"I'm going to give you the knowledge of how to fly the TARDIS." Then, she placed her forehead to Melody's.

I closed my eyes again as I struggled to stay awake. I heard the TARDIS leave and then reappear a few moments later. I opened my eyes and saw Amy and Rory kneels next to us while us three Time Lords laid on the steps. I was in the middle, The Doctor on my left and Annabelle on my right. "You can't die now. I know you don't die now." said Amy.

"Oh, Amy!" I said weakly, "You've got a schedule for everything."

"But it doesn't make any sense." said Amy.

"Teddy, what do we do?" asked Rory, "Come on. How do we help you?"

"No, sorry, Rory. You can't. Nobody can," said The Doctor. Then, I closed my eyes and then I died.

I don't know how long I was dead but the next thing I knew. I opened my eyes and saw Melody knelling next to us. There was regeneration energy swirling around us. She knelt down between Annabelle and me. She put The Doctor's right hand in my left hand. She took Annabelle's left hand in hers and then placed her right hand on top of the Doctor and my hands "Melody? No! What are you doing?" said Annabelle.

"I'm saving all of your lives, Mother…" said Melody. Then, the four of us were all consumed by regeneration energy.

A some time later we were all in a hospital room looking at Melody sleeping in a bed. Annabelle, Rory, Amy and were standing at the head of the bed while The Doctor looked out the window. Then, Melody slowly opened her eyes and Amy said, "Hey."

"Hey. Where am I?" asked Melody.

"You're safe now," said Annabelle, "You used all your remaining regenerations in one shot. You shouldn't have done that."

"I had to try, Mum…"

Annabelle smiled, "I know…" she took Melody's hand and gave it a squeeze.

"and thank you…."

"The Doctor said no-one could save you all, but he must have known I could."

"Rule one," said The Doctor, as he stood at the window . We all looked and watched him walk toward us , "The Doctor lies."

Then, River drifted back off to sleep. "She just needs to rest." said a nurse who came in to check on Melody, "She'll be absolutely fine."

"No, she won't," said Annabelle. As she took a TARDIS journal tied with a red ribbon out of her inside jacket pocket and set it down on the side table. "She will be... Amazing."

A little while later, Amy, Rory, The Doctor, Annabelle and I walked into the TARDIS, "So that's it? We leave her there?" asked Amy.

"Sisters of the Infinite Schism," said Annabelle, " is greatest hospital in the universe."

"Yeah, but she's our daughter. Annabelle, she's River and she's our daughter."

Annabelle turned and looked at Amy, "I know, Amy… I know," Annabelle took Amy's hands and said , "But we have to let her make her own way now. We have too much foreknowledge." I looked at the monitor and saw a picture of The Doctor, Annabelle and I on the screen all of us wearing Stetsons. On the screen it also showed our death date, time and place. The Doctor managed to hack the files of Robot Amy better know as the Teselecta, "And foreknowledge is a dangerous thing." said Annabelle.

"What's that?" asked Amy as she tried to look at the monitor.

I turned off the monitor, "It's just some data from the Teselecta. Very boring."

Then Rory walked over, "Teddy, River was brainwashed to kill you three?"

"Well, she did, and then used her remaining lives to bring us back."

"But that stuff that they put in her head, is that gone now? The River that we know in the future, she is in prison for murder."

"Whose murder?" asked Amy. We didn't answer her we started up the TARDIS to put her in the Time Vortex, "Will we see her again?"

"Oh, she'll come looking for us," said The Doctor," as he ran up the stairs.

"Yeah, but how? How do people even look for you?" asked Amy.

The Doctor stopped and looked at Amy "Oh, Pond! Haven't you figured that one out yet?" The Doctor ran up the stairs and out of the room.

Amy looked at me for an answer. I smiled, "I don't think we ever told you this but… River Song is a doctor of archaeology…"
