The Time of The Doctor, Teddy and Annabelle
The Doctor, Annabelle and I teleported into a dark central room of a spaceship. We were all wearing cloaks. There was only a light from high above us in the center of the room. The rest of the room was dark. The Doctor was holding a Dalek eye stalk, "We bring proof of courage and comradeship. What is this ship and why are you here?" The Doctor lowered the hood of his cloak, "Identify yourselves by species and planet of origin."
Just then we saw blue lights appear in the shadow and there was a low beeping and then a parade of Daleks came out of the darkness, "Exterminate! Exterminate!" said the Daleks.
"Handles?" called Annabelle.
"Exterminate! Exterminate!"
The Daleks fired at us, "Agh!" showed The Doctor as we ducked the Daleks shooting at us.
"Exterminate!" said the Daleks
"Handles?" called Annabelle, "Handles?" Then we teleported out and back into the TARDIS console room.
"Every ship we go on," said The Doctor, "they just shoot at us!"
"I can't imagine why…" I said.
Annabelle turned and looked at the head of a Cyberman that she and the Doctor attached to the console, "Handles, I said, 'Put us on a ship.' I didn't say, 'Put us on a Dalek ship.'"
"Don't put us on a Dalek ship, when I'm holding a broken bit of Dalek!" said The Doctor. He smacked Handles with the Dalek eye stalk. It bounced back and hit him in the head, "Ow!" He pulled Handles off his perch and carried him under his arm.
"You did not indicate a preference," said Handles.
"Use your head! It's not like you've got a lot of alternatives."
I looked at the monitor, "They're all here - Daleks, Sontarans, Terileptils, Slitheen. And they're not even fighting, they're just parked. Why?"
"The message was received throughout the universe," said Handles.
"Yes, yes, the message, the message," said The Doctor as he paced, "Even I can't translate it."
The message was a three note tone that just kept repeating.
"Why is everyone here if they don't understand it?" asked Annabelle.
"You all are here."
"Well, you know, I'm OCD," said The Doctor, "What's their excuse? What does this message mean?" Just then the phone rang, "Oh, no." He put Handles back on his perch and said, "and remind me I've got to patch the telephone back through the console unit." Then he walked to the door, "This is getting ridiculous."
"Attention! Information available," said Handles.
The three of us Time Lords looked at each other and then we all rushed over to Handles, "Okay," I asked, "What is it?"
"You must patch the telephone device back through the console unit."
"No," I said, "not now. Remind us later."
"When?" asked Handles.
"I don't know, just later, just pick a time."
"When?"
"I don't know, just any time. When you think we've forgotten."
"When?"
Annabelle sighed, "Just pick a random number, express that number as a quantity of minutes, and when that time has elapsed, remind us to patch the telephone back through the console unit."
"Affirmative."
The Doctor walked to the door, "How those Cyber-evenings must fly!" He reached out and grabbed the phone and brought it inside, "Hello. The TARDIS."
I used my telepathic link with my uncle to listen in on the converstion, "Emergency," sid Clara, "You're my boyfriend."
"Ding-dong!" said The Doctor, "OK, brilliant. I'm may be a bit...rusty in some areas, but I will glance at a manual."
"No, no, you're not actually my boyfriend."
"Oh, that was quick. It's a roller coaster this phone call."
"But I need a boyfriend really quickly."
"Well, I hope you're nicer to the next one."
"No, shut up. Christmas dinner, me cooking."
"So?"
"So, I may have... accidentally invented a boyfriend."
"Yeah, I did that once and there's no easy way to get rid of an android."
"No, not an android, a pretend one, an imaginary one. And I said he'd be coming to Christmas dinner."
Just then we saw a new ship come into orbit around the mystery planet. "Yeah. Handles, that's a new ship," said The Doctor, "OK, we'll take the TARDIS this time." He dropped the phone but picked it up again, "Sorry, missed that last bit. Got to dash!" Then he hung up the phone.
We walked up to the door and The Doctor went first he held Handles outside the door as a lookout. When nothing happened, we walked out of the TARDIS and down a corrirdor. A door slid open and we walked inside I went in first, "OK, don't be alarmed, we come in…" Then I saw a group of Cybermen in stasis chambers.
"Alert! Alert!" said the Cybermen.
"…peace! No." I finished.
We backed away and I used my sonic screwdriver on the door as the Cybermen step out of their chambers, "Intruders detected. The intruders will be upgraded."
The Doctor held up Handles to block the shots as that were fired at us," Agh! Sorry." he said to Handles. We ran back into the TARDIS as the Cybermen continued to fire at us.
Just as we got back in the TARDIS the phone rang. The Doctor reached out side and grabbed it, "I need you. I'm cooking Christmas dinner!"
"We're being shot at by Cybermen!" said The Doctor.
"Well, can't we do both?"
"Arghh! Yeah, why not?!"
We parked the TARDIS on the grassy area outside Clara's flat. Which happened to be in the Powell Estates. I thought about Rose and the other Doctor and I smiled. Just then Clara came running in. "Doctor, I so need you…" she stopped short with a shocked look on her face.
"Clara!" said the Doctor as he threw his hands up.
We all went up to her to give her a group hug when she said, "No, stop, stop, don't move, don't do anything!" Then she turned her back to us.
"Why, what is it?" I asked, "What's wrong?"
"You're all naked,"
"Yes, we are naked. I wondered if you'd notice," said The Doctor.
"Why are you naked?"
"Because we're going to church," said Annabelle. The Church of the Papal Mainframe's ship that was in orbit around the mystery planet was our next stop after dealing with Clara so we decided to be ready when we were done with what Clara need the Doctor's help with.
The Doctor pressed a couple of buttons on the console and the three of us were clothed, "Better?" he asked.
Clara turned back around "Oh, that was quick."
"They are hologram clothes," I said, "They are projected directly onto your visual cortex."
"Still naked underneath?"
"Everybody's naked underneath."
"Eugh," said Clara, Annabelle and I together.
"Don't say things like that, it's Christmas," said Clara, "Come and meet my family."
Clara took us into her flat. Her dad, her grandma and her Aunt Linda were sitting at the table, "Hello, so, er, here they are!"
"Hello, the Oswalds. Hello!" said the Doctor as he shook their hands, "Merry Christmas. Hello, hello!" he kissed Clara's grandmother on both cheeks, "Hello, handsome. Anyone for Twister?"
The Oswalds just stated at us, "So... this is the Doctor. My boyfriend. And his nieces Annabelle and Teddy." There was still silence, "Isn't anyone going to say hello?"
Clara's grandmother giggled but her Dad and Aunt refused to look at us.
"Hello," said Clara's grandmother, flirtatiously, to The Doctor.
I was a little confused at what was going on then The Doctor said, "Excuse me a moment," he pulled Clara a side and whispered, "Listen, I've got an idea to break the ice. Why don't I project our clothes hologram onto their visual cortexes too?"
I put my hand to my forehead and Clara whispered, "So, to be clear, no-one except me can see your clothes?"
"Yes, and I'm starting to think it may be causing tension."
"Are we playing Twister now?" asked Clara's Grandmother.
I grabbed The Doctor by the arm and pulled him in the kitchen, "Get in the kitchen!" I ordered.
"Eh? Sorry," said The Doctor.
"Sorry... They're Swedish." Then she came to join the rest of us Time Lords in the kitchen.
The Doctor opened the oven door and pulled out the turkey.
"For being a 1200 year old Time Lord, you can be a real idiot sometimes," I said.
"Doctor, please!" asked Clara
"Oh, that's never going to work, is it?" he said.
Clara walked over to the oven, "What's wrong? Do you not think it's done yet?"
"I think a decent vet would give it an even chance," said Annabelle.
"OK. Well, use an app," said Clara.
"An app?" asked The Doctor.
"On your screwdriver - app it."
"Most certainly not, it doesn't do turkey. Nothing does turkey. You'd need a time machine."
The three of us females looked just looked at him.
"What?"
I smacked him upside the head, "Idiot…"
We lead Clara into the TARDIS while she carried the turkey, "You can't keep using the TARDIS like this," I said.
"Like what?" asked Clara.
"Missed birthdays…"
"Restaurant bookings…" said The Doctor.
"And please just learn how to use iPlayer," said Annabelle.
We walked down to the bottom of the console, "Ooh, vortex cooking?" asked Clara.
"Yep, exposure to the time winds," said The Doctor, as he opened one of the panels and CLARA set the pan inside.
"It'll either come up a treat, or just possibly lay some eggs," I said as The Doctor closed the panel.
"Information available," called Handles.
"What's that?" asked Clara.
"Oh, just a bit of a Cyberman," said The Doctor, "He'll get us to the church on time."
We walked back up to the console and Handles said, "I have developed a fault."
"The organic components are gone, but there's still a full set of data banks," said Annabelle, "We found it at the Maldovar market." She started the TARDIS in motion.
We returned to the mystery planet and Handles said, "Planet identified, from analysis of message."
"Right cool, go on, then. OK, tell us, what is the planet? Go on," said The Doctor.
"Processing official designation. Processing."
"OK, in your own time, dear. Don't rush!"
"So, why haven't you just gone down there and had a look?" asked Clara.
"The planet shielded," I said, "Even the TARDIS can't break through it."
"Gallifrey," said Handles
We turned and looked at Handles, "What did you say?" We slowly walked over to the console.
"Gallifrey."
"What are you talking about?" asked The Doctor, "Gallifrey? What do you mean?"
"Confirmed. Planet designation - Gallifrey," said Handles.
The Doctor yanked Handles from his stand on the console and took him over to the monitor. The Doctor brought up a picture of the planet. It was a nice bright blue planet. Gallifrey was an orangeish-red, "You see THAT? Gallifrey our my home, I know it when I see it. THAT is not Gallifrey!" he slammed Handles on the console then stalked over to the door.
The rest of us followed him and Clara asked, "Doctor, are you OK?"
"It's not Gallifrey," said The Doctor, "Gallifrey's gone," the door opened.
"Unless... unless you saved it. You thought you might have."
"Even if it survived, it's gone from this universe. That is not my home!" then he slamed the door shut and walked back to the console, "It can't be."
Just then there was a loud cruise ship horn, "What's that?"
We walked back to the door and I opened it. We saw a giant ship come alongside us, "The Papal Mainframe. It's like a great, big flying church. It was the first ship to arrive. They are the ones who shielded the planet. They can get us down there."
Just then, a hologram of a woman was projected against the ship. Us Time Lords bowed to her.
"A friend of yours?" asked Clara.
"Tasha Lem, the Mother Superious," said Annabelle.
Tasha crooked her index finger at us, "Oh, she's inviting us aboard." said The Doctor.
"Why?" asked Clara.
"Because I asked her. Swallow this," he handed Clara a pill.
Clara took the pill and chewed it, "What is it?"
"Your hologram projector," I said, "You can't go to church with your clothes on." The Doctor blew Tasha a kiss then we moved the TARDIS toward the Papal Mainframe's ship.
We walked down the red carpet in the Audience Chamber of the Papal Mainframe's ship. There were church soldiers lining the walk as we walked forward. Tasha Lem stood on the dais waiting for us with one of her Colonels by her side.
Clara was hunched over, self-conscious as she walked she whispered, "I don't feel like I'm wearing anything."
"I know, relaxing isn't it?" whispered The Doctor.
"What is this place?"
"The Church of the Papal Mainframe," whispered Ananbelle, "security hub of the known universe."
"A security church?" whispered Clara
"Yep. Keeping you safe in this world and the next!" I whispered.
"I venerate the exaltation of the Mother Superious," said The Doctor as he bowed to Tasha.
Annabelle and I did a curtsey. Clara did a nervous curtsey, "Welcome to the Church of the Papal Mainframe. Your nudity is appreciated." said the Colonel.
"Hey, babes," said Tasha.
"Hello," said Annabelle.
"Nice to see you again," I said.
"Loving the frock!" said The Doctor.
She looked right at my uncle and said, "Is that a new body? Give us a twirl!"
"Tash, this old thing?" he turned in a slow circle, "Please, I've been rocking it for centuries."
"Nice though. Tight."
"So, er, hello! Also here!" said Clara.
"Clara, this is Tasha Lem, the Head of the Church of the Papal Mainframe," I said, "Tasha, this is our companion, Clara Oswald."
Tasha looked at her Colonel "We'll go to my chapel," To the others she said, "All honors in place, no sacrifices required."
We walked down a corridor and I said, "It was Tasha who shielded the planet."
"But you could sneak me down there, couldn't you, Tash?" asked The Doctor.
We stopped outside a set of double doors, "I would have conditions," said Tasha. She looked at Clara, "I have confidential matters to discuss with the Doctor and his nieces. Would you... excuse us?"
"Anything you have to say to us, you can say in front of Clara. Well... quite a lot of it. Probably about half, maybe a smidge... under. Actually, Clara, would you mind waiting out here?"
I rolled my eyes, and Clara said with a smile, "No worries!"
Then we went into Tasha's chapel. In the center of the room was a bed shaped like an alter. Tasha was over to the side making some drinks, "That altar looks like a bed," said The Doctor.
"That bed looks like an altar," said Tasha.
The Doctor pressed down on the mattress, "Yep."
I rolled my eyes. Tasha came over with some drinks and we each took one. I took a sip of mine. I thought it was pretty good, "Excuse me," said Tasha as she reached over the bed and pressed a button. Just then the message started playing, "That message... is transmitting through all of space and time. What did it make you feel?" she sat down on the bed next to The Doctor.
"Feel?" asked The Doctor.
"Every sentient being in the universe who detected that signal felt something. Something overpowering."
"What?"
"Fear. Pure, unadulterated dread."
"But, what's the signal," I asked, "Where's it coming from?"
"It's a settlement. Human colony, level 2. A farm, basically." said Tasha. (sets down drink)
"Has anyone gone down for a look?" asked Annabelle.
"Any one ship lands, the rest will follow, there will be bloodshed. Fortunately we got here first, shielded the planet. We maintain the truce, by blocking all of them."
"Daleks, Cybermen - one of that lot - could break through your defenses." said The Doctor.
"Perhaps. But they're afraid, remember? Nobody wants to go first." said Tasha.
"We do."
"I was counting on it."
Just then Clara bursted into the room and pushed the door closed. Looking half scared out of her mind. I walked up to her, "Are you OK?"
Clara thought for a second and then her face looked normal, "Fine. Yeah, fine. Sorry."
Tasha walked over to what looked like a confessional, "Right, this is my personal teleport. I can put you down just outside the town. Find the source of the message and report back to me in one hour." The Doctor, Annabelle and I entered one of the cubicles, "And on your life, Doctor, you and your nieces will cause no trouble down there."
"When do we?" said The Doctor as closed the curtain.
I opened it, "Don't answer that." then I closed it.
Just then Tasha whipped the curtain opened and held her hand out, "What?" asked The Doctor.
"I'm not an idiot," said Tasha, "Everyone in this church is trained to see straight through holograms."
Clara sat down on the bed, "Ah, great."
"Give now. You are taking no technology of any kind down there."
"What can we do with a key?" asked Annabelle. She looked at Clara, "Clara, get in the other booth." then she closed the curtain.
Tasha opened the curtain, "You could summon your TARDIS."
"The TARDIS doesn't work by remote," I said. Then, I closed the curtain.
The Doctor opened the curtain, "Fine, if it makes you feel any better," we each removed our TARDIS keys and handed them to Tasha, "there we are." Then, he closed the curtain.
"Remember. I want you back in one hour," said Tasha.
The next thing we knew, we were in a snow covered forest, "Oh, cold, very cold." said Clara.
Us three Time Lords quickly joined in a group hug around Clara, "OK, don't worry," I said as I rubbed Clara's arms, "There's a heat loss filter in your hologram shell, it'll kick in, just give it a moment."
"So, sweet little town covered in snow, half the universe in terror. Why? Why?" asked The Doctor.
The Doctor turned one way. Annabelle and I followed him, "Oh, my God!" said Clara.
"What?" I asked.
"There's something under the snow, it's…"
"What is it?" asked Annabelle.
"It's cold," said Clara.
"OK, just stand back, please, Clara," said The Doctor.
"It's stone. It's just stone. It's only a statue."
The three of us Time Lords looked at each other then at Clara "Clara, step away from it!" said The Doctor
We went to her but then the hand grabbed her ankle, "Clara, keep looking at it, don't look away!" I said.
We all grabbed Clara tightly, "Don't even... Blink!" said Annabelle
"What is it?" asked Clara.
"There is a Weeping Angel under the snow," I said, "It looks like a statue, but it isn't a statue. Can you get your foot out?"
"Only if I get it out of my shoe."
"You're not wearing one," said The Doctor.
"Good point," said Clara.
"OK, just pull, hard!" said Annabelle.
Clara grunted as we tried to pull her free, "I'm trying."
"Oh... One, two, three! Yeah!" said The Doctor as we pulled harder. We got her foot free but we rolled down a slope in the process. We landed in a small clearing surrounded by Weeping Angels. As we looked around, the Angels begin to move.
"They're climbing out of the snow. Oh, God!" said Clara.
"Keep looking at them," I said as I looked at the Angels, "all of them."
"Why?"
"Quantum-locked life-form," said The Doctor, "it can only move if it's unobserved."
"What are they doing here?" asked Clara.
"Same as everybody else," said Annabelle, "They must've got past Tasha's shield. Keep looking!"
The four of us stood with our backs together and we kept walking in a small circle, "I can't. I can't see - the snow's in my eyes."
"I just need to bring the TARDIS down," said The Doctor.
"You can't fly it remotely."
"No, but it can home in on the key."
"But she took your key!"
"She took one of them!" said The Doctor as he broke our circle. We turned to face him and saw him pull the wig he was wearing off his head and holding a glowing TARDIS key in the other. Clara gasped and covered her mouth with one hand and pointed at him with the other. The TARDIS started to materialize around us once it was done he said, "The old key in the quiff routine. Classic!" He set the wig on top of Handles and walked over to the console, "OK, homing in on the mysterious message. Ooh, yes, I like that - the mysterious message."
"You've shaved your head?" asked Clara.
"Yep. Clever plan to get us past the shield," said The Doctor.
"No… He got bored one night and deiced to shave his head…" I said.
"Is that what happened to his eyebrows?" asked Clara.
"No, they're just delicate," said The Doctor.
I shook my head and said, "I'm setting us down, near the signal source. I'm going to turn the engines on silent, so we don't disturb the locals."
Clara pulled the wig off Handles and threw it at The Doctor, "Put it back on."
"Why?" he asked.
"Your ears are like rocket fins."
"I know!" he said with a big smile. He shook his head.
Once we were all dressed in proper clothes. We stepped outside and we were in a small town with lit pine trees, Christmas lights running around the roofs of the buildings and braziers with lit fires, "Oh, it's good to be wearing clothes again," said Clara, "That's so much better, don't you think?"
Us Time Lords scanned the area with our sonics, "Now, what do we make of this place?" said The Doctor, as he carried Handles, in this other hand.
"It's two o'clock in the afternoon, must be very short days here," said Annabelle.
"The message is coming from that tower," I said as I pointed at a clock tower.
Just then we saw a couple walking down the street," Hello! Hello, there!" said The Doctor. He looked at Clara, "Right, we're a couple from the next town. Teddy and Annabelle are our nieces. My name's probably Hank or Rock, something like that.
"Or Daisy?" said Clara.
"Shut up," The Doctor said to the couple, "Hello, good to meet you, nice snow."
"Most pleasant to meet you too," said the man as she shook The Doctor's hand.
"Most pleasant. Most pleasant." said the woman.
"I'm the Doctor," said my uncle. "I'm a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey. I stole a time machine and ran away and I've been flouting the principal law of my own people ever since." he slapped his hand over his mouth, "That wasn't quite what I was meant to say!"
"I'm an English teacher from planet Earth," said Clara, "and I've run off with a man from space because I really fancy…" she clamped her hands over her mouth to keep from finishing her sentence.
"I'm a Time Lady from the planet Gallifrey," I said, "I stole a time machine and turned myself into a baby to escape a terrible war." I covered my mouth
"I'm her daughter," said Annabelle, "I was created in a progenation machine on the planet Messaline." Annabelle covered her mouth.
"I think, perhaps, you should stop talking till you get used to it," said the woman
"Used to what?" I asked.
"What did you say your name was?"
"Bubbly personality masking bossy control freak!" said Clara, then she covered her mouth with her hand.
"I can't help but wonder if I'm going to be an idiot like my uncle when I get his age," I said then I covered my mouth.
"I have a daughter with another woman," said Annabelle, then she covered her mouth.
The Doctor pointed to his head, "I'm wearing a wig!" The Doctor covered his mouth, then muffed he said, "No, ah, I see." He removed his hand, "Yes, of course. It's a truth field. Oh, that is so quaint. I haven't seen a truth field in years! I'm wearing a wig!"
"No-one can lie in this town. Especially this close to the tower," said the man, then the couple continued to walk on.
"Doesn't that make life a bit difficult?" asked Annabelle.
They answer simultaneously.
They answered at the same time "Not at all." said the woman. "Yes," said the man.
"What's the name of this town?" I asked
"It's Christmas," said the man.
"It's July," said The Doctor as he looked at his watch.
"No, the town. The town is Christmas, that's what it's called," said the woman.
"Be happy here. Be well." said the man, then the two of them walked away.
"How can a town be called Christmas?" asked Clara.
"I don't know, how can an island be called Easter?" said The Doctor. "Maybe it's just nice here."
"I almost hate to find out what's wrong," I said, as we head to the tower.
We went in the basement of the tower and started to look around. Then, we saw something I never thought I'd see again. The crack from Amy Pond's bedroom.
"There you are. What took you so long?" asked The Doctor.
"What's wrong? It's only a crack in the wall." said Clara.
"I always knew it wasn't over," I said as The Doctor took off his jacket and walked over to the wall.
"What is it?" asked Clara.
"A split in the skin of reality," said Annabelle, "A tiny sliver of the 26th of June, 2017. The day the universe blew up.
"Missed that!"
"We rebooted it, put it all back together," said The Doctor.
"That's good."
The Doctor walked to the center of the room, "It was our TARDIS that blew it up in the first place. I felt a degree of responsibility. But the scar tissue remains."
I walked up to the wall. "It's a structural weakness in the whole universe. Whoa!" I stepped back, "And someone's trying to get through it, from outside our universe, from somewhere else."
Annabelle walked up to the wall and pressed her ear against the wall, "Of course. It makes sense."
"It does?" asked Clara.
"Yes. If you tried to break through a wall, you'd choose the weakest spot."
"To break into this universe, you'd choose this crack, because…" said The Doctor.
I interrupted him, "No. If you were trying to break back into this universe." I walked over to where the Doctor set down Handles and picked him up, "Why did you say Gallifrey?"
"Analysis of message composition indicates Gallifreyan origin, according to TARDIS data banks," said Handles.
"You said Gallifrey was gone," said Clara.
"No. I said it was in another universe," said The Doctor, "The message is coming through here. The truth field is too, at a guess. If it's the Time Lords... If it's the Time Lords…" he pressed hands against the wall" He pressed his hands against the wall. We heard the tone began to resonate again. The Doctor turned and looked back at us. Then he took something from his pocket, "Seal of the High Council of Gallifrey, nicked it off the Master in the Death Zone." Then he walked up to Handles and suck it on him, "There is an algorithm imprinted in the atomic structure. Use it to decode the message."
"Message decoding," said Handles, "Message analysis proceeding. Information available. The message is a request for information."
Annabelle rolled her eyes, "It's a question. Why can't you just say it's a question?!"
"It is being projected through all of time and space on a repeating cycle."
"The oldest question in the universe, hidden in plain sight…" I said.
"Warning – translation will be available to all life-forms in range. Translation follows. Doctor who... Doctor who... Doctor who... Doctor who... Doctor who…"
The Doctor leaned against the wall, "A question only I could answer. A truth field to make sure I'm not lying. If I give my name, they'll know they've found the right place... and that it's safe to come through."
"The Time Lords?" said Clara, "OK, so what then? If you answer the question, and they come back, what happens?"
I reached into my blazer and pulled out a metal cylinder. I handed it to Clara and said, "I need you to take this to the TARDIS and put it in one of the charger slots for the sonics."
"Why?" she asked
"All hell is going to break loose, if the Time Lords come back. There's half a universe up there, waiting to open fire. Now, please, go to the TARDIS, and just do as I say!
Clara ran from the room, Then we heard Tasha call out, "Doctor, Teddy, Annabelle, speak with me." The Doctor put his jacket back on and he walked determinately from the room. Annabelle and I followed him. As we climbed the steps up to the belfrey of the tower we heard Tasha call out again, "Doctor, Teddy, Annabelle! Face me now!"
We reached the top of the tower and saw a projection of Tasha's head in the sky. I looked down at the street below and saw the TARDIS was gone. That cylinder programmed the TARDIS to take Clara back to where we picked her up from. We knew that this could be our last battle. We couldn't let Clara die here. "Mother Superious, there is only one thing we need from you - this planet... what's it called?" asked The Doctor.
"Trenzalore," she said. The three of us looked at each other, "Doctor, if you speak your name, the Time Lords will return."
"If they return, they will come in peace," I said.
"It doesn't matter. They will be met with a war that will never end. The Time War will begin anew! All three of you know that!"
"They're asking for The Doctor for help!" said Annabelle.
"And if he gives it, war will be the consequence," said Tasha, "I will not that let that happen at any cost. If The Doctor speaks his name and this world will burn!"
"No, this planet is protected," said The Doctor. He used his sonic to make the bell start to toll. Then we headed back downstairs. We we got to the top of the steps that led up to the church, we saw the people of the town gathering to learn why the bells were rining, "So, you lot, a quick word, thank you," said The Doctor, "Spot of news, Christmas has a new sheriff. Hello, everyone, I'm the Doctor and these are my nieces, Teddy and Annabelle."
In the time that followed, the Papal Mainframe maintained the peace between us and our enemies. As the days passed, and the years, we stayed true to our word. On the fields of Trenzalore, we stood as protector, both of our own people and our new home. Over time, the our enemies would find new, stranger ways to enter the town called Christmas. Like the time the Cybermen tried to send a wooden Cyberman in town.
With every victory, the town celebrated. There was a street party with tables of food, dancing, fireworks and entertainment. In, time, we seemed to forget he'd lived any other life and the people of the town came to love the man and his nieces who stayed for Christmas. The longer we stayed on Trenzlore. The older we started to look.
One day, some three hundred years after we first arrived on Trenzalore. We were walking down the street of the town when a young friend of ours named Barnable walked up to us, "How's your father's barn?" the Doctor asked.
"You've fixed the leak all right, but he say it's bigger on the inside now!" he said.
I rolled my eyes and The Doctor bent over with a finger to his lips, "Ssh! They'll all want one!"
Just then we heard something we hadn't heard in 300 years. The TARDIS materializing, "What is it? What's that noise?" asked Barnable.
"Well!" shouted The Doctor, "Where have you been for 300 years?! Huh!" he walked toward the TARDIS with Annabelle and I close behind.
"What's that?" asked Barnable.
We stopped and I said, "It's our ship."
"Your what?"
"It's our TARDIS," said The Doctor.
"That's how we got here in the first place," said Annabelle.
"Does this mean you're leaving?" asked Barnable.
We didn't answer Barnable. We just continued walking to the TARDIS. We stopped when we saw a very familer shape hanging onto the side. Clara Oswald. We walked up to the TARDIS and he jabbed her in the back with his cane. She jerked with a gasp, "What are you doing here?"
Clara turned to face us, "I... I was in space."
"Well, you were in the time vortex," said Annabelle.
"She must have extended the force field around you," I said.
"No wonder…" said The Doctor as he pried Clara loose from the TARDIS, "No wonder she's late, dragging you around."
We walked away from the TARDIS. Clara stopped and turned to face us. She looked right at me, "You tricked me".
"I saved you," I said.
"You didn't even say goodbye."
"I'm FURIOUS with you!" said Annabelle.
"Well, I am not even talking to YOU!"
We all laughed and joined in a group hug.
We took Clara down to the basement of the tower. She walked around the room wrapped in a blanket looking at the pictures the children of the town drew for us. She saw Handles sitting propped up on a desk covered with all sorts of gadgets and toys. "Oh, Doctor, fixing toys and fighting monsters." said Clara.
"It's not just The Doctor," I said, "Annabelle's been helping. She's become quite good at fixing things." Annabelle blushed a little. Even though she was now 500, I found it funny that I could still embarrass her.
Just then The Doctor walked back in the basement, "The turkey isn't done yet."
Clara looked over at the crack "Is it still asking the question?"
"Oh, never stops," said The Doctor.
"Come upstairs, it's almost time," said Annabelle, as she picked up Handles.
"What for?" asked Clara.
"Dawn," I said, "The light here lasts only a few minutes, you don't want to miss it."
We went up to the belfry of the tower The Doctor and I sat on one side of a small fire while Clara and Annabelle sat on the other.
"It's a standoff," said Annabelle, "They can't attack in case The Doctor unleashes the Time Lords. And we can't run away, because they'll burn this planet to stop the Time Lords." she took a handkerchief out of her jacket pocket licked it and whiped off Handles.
"Hey, after all these years, we've finally found somewhere that needs us to stick around. A town called Christmas! Could've been worse," said The Doctor, "Right, there you go, buddy." He adjusted Handles, "Comfy?"
"Comfort is irrelevant." said Handles.
The Doctor made another adjustment, "How's that, is that better?"
"Affirmative."
"You just take it easy, buddy." he patted Handles, "He's getting old. I do my best for him, but... I just can't get the parts, you know. Hey, I know the feeling."
Clara toasted a marshmallow over the fire, "Where do you get these?"
"We have a supplier," I said, "The pinks ones are best." I popped one into my mouth.
"I have developed a fault," said Handles.
"Hey, don't you worry, Handles, you're just dreaming," said Annabelle, "The sun's coming up very soon, you just hang on in there."
"I have developed a... fault. I...I have developed a fault."
I could tell that Handles wasn't going to last much longer, I picked him up "Hey, Handles. Come on. You can hang on for one more dawn, you can do it. just hang on in there."
"Attention! Emergency! Atten…" he said.
"Handles, what is it, what's wrong?" asked The Doctor.
"Urgent action required! You must patch the telephone device back through the... console... Unit." then he mouth light flickered and faded.
The Doctor shook Handles, "ome back. Handles? Handles…" he sighed and bowed his head, "Thank you, Handles, and well done. Well done, mate." Then he set Handles bak down.
Just then the sun rose and we could hear birds in the distance. We stood at the rail and Annabelle said, "What do you think of our new place? We come up here once a day for a few minutes… To remind ourselves of what it is we're protecting."
"It's beautiful," said Clara. She looked at me, "Why did you send me away?"
"Because if I hadn't, we'd have buried you a long time ago," I said.
"No, you wouldn't. I would never have let you get stuck here.
"Ha! Everyone gets stuck somewhere, eventually, Clara," said The Doctor, "Everything ends."
"Except you."
"Have you been paying attention? I'm an old man now," said the Doctor.
"But you don't die," said Clara, "You change. You pop right back up with a new face."
"No, not forever. I can change 12 times. 13 versions of me. 13 silly Doctors."
"OK, so you're number 11, so…"
"Are we forgetting Captain Grumpy, eh? I didn't call myself the Doctor during the Time War, but it was still a regeneration."
"OK, so you're number 12."
"Number ten once regenerated and kept the same face - I had vanity issues at the time. 12 regenerations, Clara. I can't ever do it again. This is where I end up. This face - this version of me. We saw this planet in the future, remember? All those graves... one of them mine."
"What about Annabelle and Teddy?"
"We decided long ago that we are dying with The Doctor," I said, "So we've repressed our regenerations and we are growing old with The Doctor."
Just then the sun sets, "Change the future," said Clara.
"We can't," said Annabelle.
"You've got your TARDIS back."
"Ha! You think we're just going to fly away, abandon everyone?" asked The Doctor.
Of course not. But you've been protecting this town for over 300 years. Do you not think it's anybody else's go yet?
"There is no-one else to protect it," I said.
"It won't be you forever," said Clara, "It'll end the same way, whatever you do."
"Every life we save is a victory," said Annabelle, "Every single one."
"What about your lives? Just for once, after all of this time, have you not earned the right to think about that? Sorry. Wrong thing to say. We shouldn't be having an argument."
"Clara, the three of us have been having that argument with each other for the last 300 years," said The Doctor.
"But you didn't have your TARDIS," whispered Clara.
"Ah! Yes, well, that made it easier to stay. True."
There was a rumble of Thunder, "Doctor!" called Tasha's voice.
"Ah! Look who's woken up!" said The Doctor as we turned around and saw a projection of Tasha in the sky.
"The Church of the Silence requests parlay. Your rights and safety are sanctified."
"We'll be right up," I said.
"I'm sending a transporter," said Tasha.
"Nah, don't bother. I've got me motor back," said The Doctor.
Tasha's projection disappeared. Then, Clara said, "It's gone dark."
"Well, the sun's gone down," said Annabelle.
"Already?"
"Everything ends, Clara," said The Doctor, "And sooner than you think."
A few moments later we were on the street walking toward the TARDIS. I saw a small hand on the opposite side. We walked around and saw Barnable sitting against it. "Hm!" I said, "Are you guarding our TARDIS, Barnable?"
"Are you coming back?" asked Barnable.
"Oh, come on. You know us," said The Doctor.
"I'll wait." We smiled at him.
A short time later we were in the audience chamber of the Papal Mainframe's ship. We walked up to Tasha, "She hasn't aged much," whispered Clara.
"No, she's against ageing," I said.
"Approach." said Tasha.
"Confess," said a group of Silents.
"What are those things?" asked Clara.
"Confess."
"Confessional priests," said Annabelle, "They are very popular. They are genetically engineered so you forget everything you told them."
Clara looked at me "Told who?"
"There you go!" said The Doctor.
Tasha took us to her chambers and We were all sitting at a table. Tasha slide a large box toward us and we opened it, it was filled with marshmallows, "Satisfactory?" asked Tasha.
"Where are the pink ones?" asked The Doctor.
"E-numbers. You're hyper enough as it is."
Tasha sat at the other end of the table as The Doctor took some marshmallows out of the box. "So this is sweet," said Clara, "Middle of a siege, and you lot have little chats?"
"She's right," said Tasha, "This situation cannot continue."
"It can't end either," said Annabelle as The Doctor closed the box.
"Why did you ever come to Trenzalore?" asked Tasha.
"It doesn't matter," I said, "We came to Trenzalore, and nothing can change that now."
The Doctor pointed his cane at Tasha, "Didn't stop you trying, though, did it?"
"Not me," said Tasha, "The Kovarian Chapter broke away. They traveled back along your timeline and tried to prevent you ever reaching Trenzalore."
"So that's who blew up our TARDIS. I thought I'd left the bath running."
"They blew up your time capsule, created the very cracks in the universe through which the Time Lords are now calling."
"The destiny trap," I said, "You can't change history if you're part of it."
"They engineered a psychopath to kill you," said Tasha.
"We'd never have made it here alive without my daughter," said Annabelle.
"I am not interested in changing history. I want to change the future. The Daleks send for reinforcements daily, they are massing for war." she leaned forward, "Three days ago, they attacked the Mainframe itself."
"They attacked here?" I asked.
"How did you stop them?" asked Clara.
"Stop them? It was slaughter," said Tasha.
"Why didn't you call us?" asked Annabelle, "We could have helped."
"I tried. I died in this room, screaming your names."
"What?" I said.
"Oh... I died." said Tasha. Clara moved closer to us Time Lords. Tasha continued, "It's funny the things that slip your mind." she gasped and her head fell to the table.
We stood up and The Doctor said, "No! No, no, no, Tasha, no, please, not Tasha, no. Fight it."
There was a cracking sound and Tasha raised her head, "Tash, fight it!" I shouted. Just then a Dalek eyestalk grew from Tasha's forehead. Then, a group of Daleks burst through the door.
"Step away from the Dalek unit, Doctor!" ordered a Dalek.
"You shouldn't even know who we are," said The Doctor.
"Information concerning The Doctor and his nieces was harvested from the cadaver of Tasha Lem."
Tasha slowly stood and faced Clara, "I bet she never told you how to break the Trenzalore force field, though," said Annabelle, "She'd have died first."
"Several times," said the Dalek.
"Well, you'd better kill us, then, go on. But before you do…" said The Doctor. He used his sonic and we heard the translated message, ''Doctor who...? Doctor who...? Doctor who...?'
"I'm a tough old bird," said The Doctor, "I'll be ages dying. Way enough time to answer a question. And, oh dear, what happens then, boys?"
Tasha walked up behind Clara with her hand outstretched. "You will die in silence, Doctor" said the Dalek, "or your associate will die."
Tasha put her hand on Clara's shoulder shooting a current through her. I looked at Clara and I said, "Fine, go on. Kill her. Kill her! See if I care! But tell me, what you are going to do next?"
"See how the Time Lords betray," said The Dalek.
"You'll kill me anyway," said Clara, "What difference does it make? I'm not afraid. I'll leave that to you."
"You see, Tasha, that's what I'm talking about!" said The Doctor, "THAT is a WOMAN!" he walked over to Tasha, "I always knew you were a bit spineless, you and your pointless church! Why did I ever rely on you? Never trust a nun to do a Doctor's work." Tasha let go of Clara and slapped the Doctor. Then she used the gun in her hand to shoot the Daleks, "And she's back!" said The Doctor. Then he kissed Tasha, "You never could resist a row."
"Kiss me when I ask," said Tasha.
"Well, you'd better ask nicely."
"In your dreams!"
"Right, get us back to the TARDIS. Can you do that?" The Doctor turned to the transporter.
"Yep, but quickly, the Dalek inside me is waking."
"Fight it," I said.
"I can't." said Tasha.
"Listen to me. You have been fighting the psychopath inside you all your life. Shut up and win. That is an order, Tasha Lem."
Clara got in the second booth. Tasha set the coordinates to put us into the TARDIS, "The force field will hold for a while, but it will decay, and there are breaches already."
"Then this isn't a siege any more, it's a war," said Annabelle, "It's all up to you now. Fight the Daleks, inside and out. You can do it, I know you can."
"Oh, I see," said Tasha, "You've got your TARDIS back, haven't you? Time to fly away."
"Tasha, please... Please. Thank you." said The Doctor.
"None of this was for you, you fatuous egotist. It was for the peace. Fly away, Doctor!"
TDTL
Once we were back in the TARDIS we heard a bell ding, "It's done," said The Doctor.
"What is?" asked Clara.
"Your turkey," I said, "It's either done or it's woken up."
Clara laughs, "Do you want some?"
"Go on, then," said The Doctor.
"Got any plates?"
"Should be some in the kitchen," said Annabelle, "We've even got Christmas crackers!"
Clara was about to head to the lower level of the console room. But, she stopped and walked back over to us. She looked at The Doctor, "One thing. Give me those big sad eyes, look at me so I know you're not lying, and tell me you will never send me away ever again."
"Clara Oswald... We will never send you away... Again," said The Doctor.
Clara kissed him on the cheek and ran down to get her turkey. The Doctor turned on the monitor to see what was going on in Christmas.
"Turkey smells good!" called Clara.
"Yep, smells great," I said.
On the monitor, we saw Baranable waiting. The three of us looked at each other and we knew what we had to do, "Perfect," said Clara from the lower level. The Doctor placed the same cylinder into the console then we quietly walked out of the TARDIS.
We watched at the TARDIS dematerialized and then a few moments later it rematerialzed. This time we knew that Clara was home. Barnable was there with us and he asked, "If you're not leaving, why did you bring it back?"
"It's a reminder," said The Doctor. Then he patted Barnable on the head. Then we started to walk toward the tower, "Besides, we might leave tomorrow."
"Or the next day," I said.
"Or the day after that," said Annabelle.
But, we didn't leave. Once the force field was down all of our enemines started to come for us. But, we didn't fight alone, after everything that happened The Church of the Mainframe was once again on outside. Soon all that was left was just the Daleks and us.
It was many hundreds of years later when somehow Clara showed up again. The Doctor was making a wooden toy, I was kitting and Annabelle was reading a book when we heard someone come in the basement, "Barnable?" asked the Doctor.
I knew it wasn't Barnable. He was long gone. But, I wasn't expecting to hear Clara's voice said, "Clara."
The Doctor dropped the toy he was making, I set down my kitting and Annabelle lowered her book. We turned around and saw Clara. She looked the exact same but I knew that we didn't look the same to her. The Doctor looked like he was in his 80s in human years. I looked to be in my 70s and my red hair had turned white long ago. Annabelle looked to be in her 60s and was getting white streaks in her blond hair.
"Hello, Annabelle," said Clara.
Annabelle smiled, "Good to see you, Clara."
"Hello, Teddy."
"Hello, Clara," I said.
"Hello, Doctor," said Clara.
The Doctor took off his glasses, "Were you always so young?"
"Nah. That was you," said Clara.
The Doctor held out his hand and Clara went to him. The Doctor was getting very old. Annabelle and I knew that it was just any time now before he would pass. Then it would be our time as well. Clara put her hand in his and moved to stand in front of him.
"Ah…" said the Doctor as he kissed her hand.
"Merry Christmas," said Clara.
"Merry Christmas," the three of us Time Lords said together.
Clara knelt in front of the Doctor and handed him one end of a Christmas Cracker. But, the Doctor couldn't pull it.
"Hey, it's OK," said Clara, she wrapped her other hand around his, "It's fine, don't worry." then they pulled open the cracker.
"Ah! Is there a joke? Huh?" asked The Doctor.
Clara looked at the piece of paper, "Extract from 'Thoughts On A Clock' by Eric Ritchie Jr."
The Doctor settle back in his chair, "Is it a knock-knock one? Those are best."
I shook my head. Then, Clara said, "I don't think so." She rested her head on his leg.
"Well, read it. Go on," I said.
"'And now it's time for one last bow Like all your other selves Eleven's hour is over now The clock is striking twelve's.'"
Us three Time Lords looked at each other. Then the Doctor said, "I don't get it." I shook my head again.
Just then we heard a Dalek call out, "Doctor! The Doctor and his nieces will be brought! The Daleks demand the Doctor and his nieces!"
Just then a young man from the town came running into the room, "They're here. The Daleks, we can't stop them. They want you."
"Oh, all right, Barnable," said The Doctor, "Are you Barnable?"
"No, Doctor"
"He passed quite a few years ago, Doctor," I said.
"It's OK, Barnable, don't worry," said The Doctor, "We have got a plan. Off you pop."
The young man looked at all of us nervously then ran out of the room. We could hear rumbling outside.
"You've got a plan?" asked Annabelle.
"No," said The Doctor, "but people love it when I say that." then he reached for his cane.
"Doctor, what are you going to do?" asked Clara.
The Doctor stood and I stood to help him stand. "Oh, I don't know," he said, "Talk very fast, hope something good happens, take the credit. That's generally how it works." Then us three Time Lords headed to the stairs." I wrapped my right arm around his left and we headed for the stairs.
"Doctor…"
"Not this time, though," said The Doctor as we stopped and looked at Clara, "This is it."
"No!"
"Yes," said Annabelle, "We saw the future, Clara. This is how it ends."
"Change it!" said Clara.
"Huh!" said The Doctor as we started to walk away.
"Like Tasha said, change the future!"
"We could have once," I said, "When there were more than three Time Lords. Not anymore."
The Doctor looked at Clara, "Now, you're going to stay here. Promise us you will."
"Why?" asked
"We'll be keeping you safe. One last victory. Allow us that. Give us that…" then we joined in one last group hug, "our impossible girl."
"Thank you," said Annabelle.
"And goodbye," I said.
We ended the hug and The Doctor said, The trouble with Daleks is, they take so long to say anything. We'll probably die of boredom before they shoot us, "Then we started our last climb up the tower.
"The Doctor and his nieces are required!" said the Dalek. We slowly made our way up the tower. It seamed like every trip was getting longer and longer. I was kind of glad that this was going to be our last trip up. I had one regret that I wasn't going to be able to say good bye to Mom and Dad. I always figured that I would out live them. I made a promise to them and myself that I would never jump ahead on their timeline. So, as far as I was concerned they were still alive., "Doctor!" called the Dalek.
We reached the belfry and The Doctor said, "Sorry, I'm a bit slow. I may not be at my best right now."
"You are dying, Doctor," said the Dalek
"Yes…" said The Doctor as we sat down, "I'm dying."
"You've been trying to kill him for centuries, and here he is, dying of old age," I said.
"If you want something done, do it yourself," said The Doctor.
"You and your nices will die, and the Time Lords will never return," said the Dalek.
"You still can't work up the courage to shoot us, can you?" said Annabelle, "You're still worried we've got something up my sleeve."
"Well, you knock yourselves out, boys. We've got nothing this time," said The Doctor.
Then, Daleks started flying through the sky firing on the town. We just sat their knowing we couldn't do anything. Then, all of the sudden The Crack appeared in the sky and wisp of regeneration energy flowed from it and into The Doctor. We couldn't believed it… The Time Lords were giving The Doctor another cycle of regenerations! We looked down and saw The Doctor's hands start to glow with regeneration energy. I looked at my hands and Annabelle's hand and they were glowing as well.
"You will die now, Doctor. This is the end of you." said the Dalek, "The rules of regeneration are known. You have expended all your lives."
The Doctor stood up without any help from Annabelle or me. Annabelle and I joined him, "Sorry, what did you say?" asked The Doctor, "Did you mention the rules? Now, listen! Bit of advice. Tell me the truth if you think you know it. Lay down the law, if you're feeling brave, but, Daleks, never, ever tell me the rules!"
"Emergency! Emergency! The Doctor and his nieces are regenerating! The Doctor and his nieces are regenerating!
The bell started to strike 12. The Doctor did a small dance and twirled his cane, "Oh, look at this. Regeneration number 13. We're breaking some serious science here, boys. I tell you what, it's going to be a whopper!"
"Exterminate! Exterminate the Doctor and nieces!"
Annabelle laughed "You think you can stop us now, Daleks? If you want our lives... Come and get it!" She aimed her arm at a Dalek flying through the sky and shot it down with a blast of regeneration energy."
"Love from Gallifrey, boys!" I said. Then the three of us Time Lords exploded with regeneration energy.
(AN: Teddy is now played by Katherine Heigl & Annabelle is played by Elizabeth Gillies.)
I'm not quite sure what all happened but when we were done regenerating the whole top of the belfry was gone. I looked at Annabelle and she was now a brunette, "Sweetpea?" I asked.
She sat up, "Looking good, Mom…" she said with a smile.
I smiled, "You look pretty good yourself," I grabbed my hair and pulled it in front of my eyes and saw I was a blond again. It seemed to be about shoulder length "How old do I look?"
"mmm… about 36 in human years… how about me?"
"Around 21... I guess we are still going to have trouble convincing people we are mother and daughter."
She nodded, "Where's The Doctor?"
I looked around and my uncle was nowhere insight. "He must have went to the TARDIS. Come on."
We ran down the steps and we ran into Clara and a bunch of townspeople who were taking shelter in the base of the tower.
Clara was stunned, "Teddy? Annabelle?"
I smiled, "Yep."
The three of us joined in a group hug, "Where's The Doctor?" she asked.
"I don't know," I said, "When we woke up, upstairs he was gone."
"We're guessing he went to the TARDIS," said Annabelle.
We walked out of the base of the tower and saw the town was devastated. We saw the TARDIS on the other side of the street. We ran to it and saw the phone was dangling. Clara hung it back up and we went inside.
On the floor we saw a trail of The Doctor's clothes. On the console was bowl of fish fingers and custard. "Gee… How long were we out?" asked Annabelle.
"Quite awhile," said a familiar voice from behind us. We turned around and saw The Doctor walking up the steps from the lower level. He was his young self again and wearing a fresh set of clothes,
"Doctor!" said Clara.
"Hello."
"You're young again. You're OK. You didn't even change your face."
"Another Midlife Crisis," I said with a smile.
The Doctor laughed, "It's started. I can't stop it now. This is just the reset. Whole new regeneration cycle, ooh…" He picked up the bowl and drank the last of the custard from it, "taking a bit longer. Just breaking it in." He walked around the console and wobbled a bit. He pulled one of the levers on the console and set the TARDIS into motion, "It all just disappears, doesn't it? Everything you are, gone in a moment, like breath on a mirror. Any moment now, he's a-coming."
"Who's coming?" asked Clara.
"The Doctor."
"You... you are the Doctor."
"Yep... and I always will be," he held up his hand and it was glowing with regeneration energy, "But times change... and so must I." he paused a moment and said, "Amelia?" His head moved as if he was watching someone walk up the steps to the upper level.
"Who's Amelia?" asked Clara.
The Doctor moved his head as if someone was walking around the upper level. I asked him about it later and he told me that he saw a vision of little Amelia Pond, "The first Human face this face saw. We all change... when you think about it. We're all different people all through our lives. And that's OK, that's good, you've got to keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be. I will not forget one line of this. Not one day. I swear. I will always remember when the Doctor was me."
The Doctor then looked like he was watching someone walk down the stairs. He told me later that it saw a vision of Amy Pond walking down the stairs. He held his hand up in the air as if he was touching Amy's cheek. Then, The Doctor turned to us. He reached up and took off his bowtie. He held it in front of him and dropped it to the floor. I could feel the tears starting to form in my eyes.
"No, no." said Clara tearfully.
"Hey…" said The Doctor.
"Please don't change."
Clara reached out to touch the Doctor's glowing hand. But before she could there was a swoosh he leaned back and he instantly the Doctor regenerated. When he leaned back we got good look at him. He was older now. Somewhere in his 50s. He was taller, thinner and his face was just a tiny bit narrower. His eyebrows were thicker, his hair was grayer, shorter and a bit curly. His eyes were blue. He looked kind of familer but I wasn't sure where I'd seen his face before. The Doctor just staired at Annabelle, Clara and me. There was another swooshing and The Doctor hunched over, clutching his middle, "Kidneys!" he said in a Scottish accent, "I've got new kidneys. I don't like the color."
"Of your kidneys? " asked Annabelle.
"You are the only person in the world who would complain about kidney color!" I said.
Just then the TARDIS shuddered and threw us all a little off-balance.
"What's happening?" asked Clara.
"We're probably crashing! Oh!" said The Doctor as he ran to the console.
"Into what?" asked Clara.
"Stay calm. Just one question," Then The Doctor looked up at the three of us, "Do any of you happen to know how to fly this thing?"
I put my hand to my forehead, "Oh, Lord…."
To Be Continued….
