Ruby and Pyrrha made it to the cliff side, and Ruby stood at the ready. She had seen the initiation, and often times helped Students who weren't paying attention to their surroundings. She knew they were in experienced, but she just didn't want anyone to suffer a loss like she did.

"For years," said Ozpin, "you have trained to become warriors. And today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest."

"Now," said Glynda, "I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about assignment of teams. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates...today."

"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well. That being said, the person you make first eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years."

"See, I told you," said a ginger haired girl.

"After you've partnered up," continued Ozpin, "make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you will die."

Hope I don't get a racist partner, said Ruby.

"You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation. But our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair much choose one, and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?"

"Yeah, um, sir-" said Jaune.

"Good," said Ozpin, "Now, take your positions."

"Um, sir, don't we get parachutes?" asked Jaune.

"No, you will be using a landing strategy," said Ozpin.

"Okay, what is a landing strate-GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Ruby just lifted herself up, and flew off.

She looked all over, and then spotted Weiss.

Ruby then noticed that she was just standing there, trying to prefect her stance.

Ruby then zipped down, and blocked a Beowulf from behind Weiss.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! demanded Ruby, YOU HAVE NO TIME TO PREFECT A BATTLE STANCE! ENEMIES WILL JUST ATTACK YOU ON SIGHT IF YOU JUST STAND THERE!

Ruby then used Psychic to pick up the Beowulves, and slam them into each other, and used Shadow Ball quickly.

"You attacked out of turn!" said Weiss.

Ruby grabbed her, and lifted her off the ground.

Listen well, and listen good! snapped Ruby, THIS is NOT time to ass around! Who told people take turns fighting!?

Weiss tried to come up with something, but Ruby said, THIS is the real world! They're not going to give you time to get ready! So, you need to be ready! Tell you what, after classes, I'll help you, if you want.

Weiss then said, "Thank you, but I don't need it."

Suit yourself, said Ruby, Now, get ready. I'll get us to the temple soon.

"How?"

I can fly.

Ruby then lifted Weiss up, and took off.

Meanwhile, Yang was in the woods, looking for a partner.

"HELLO?! RUBY!? YOU HERE!?"

Just then, a rustling in the brush, and she looked in it.

"Ruby?"

An Ursa came out, and Yang said, "Nope."

Yang dodged the attacks, and said, "You wouldn't happen to have seen a Faunus with a red hood?"

The Ursa then roared, and Yang said, "You could've just said no."

She then went for a punch, only for it to get blocked, and a slash towards her head.

"Ha, you guys couldn't hit the broad side of a ba-"

A single golden strand of hair fell from the air.

"You... You..."

The Ursa looked at each other, confused.

"YOU MONSTERS!"

Ruby and Weiss saw an explosion in the woods, and Ruby said, Sounds like someone touched Yang's hair.

"How protective is she of it?" asked Weiss.

She put 15 barbers in traction, and destroyed every whole shop we visited, answered Ruby.

Yang pummeled one Ursa into the ground, and turned towards the second one.

"WHAT?! YOU WANT SOME TOO!?"

The Ursa roared, and then stopped, and fell to the ground.

The culprit was Blake, using Gambol Shroud to stabe it in the back.

"I could've taken him," said Yang.

"I was just in a mood, you know?" asked Blake, "You're Ruby's sister, right? Yang, right? Yang, Rose?"

"It's Xiao Long actually," said Yang.

"Why the different names?" asked Blake.

"Same dad, different mothers, genetically speaking. Our dad passed away protecting our mom."

"I'm sorry about that," said Blake.

"It's okay. You had nothing to do with it. Anyway, I know where Ruby's heading. We've flown over this forest many times."

"How?"

"Ruby has Psychic Powers, remember?"

At the temple, Ruby landed softly with Weiss, and looked at the temple.

Seems we weren't the first ones here, said Ruby.

"Now, let's grab a relic, and-"

No, we'll wait a bit, said Ruby, We'll have a better chance of getting back in a group. We're stronger in numbers.

Weiss wanted to protest, but Ruby raised a point.

"Okay, so, who are we waiting for?" asked Weiss.

I sense six more people, said Ruby, and two of them should be coming right... now.

From the brush, came a ginger girl riding on an Ursa, and the Grimm fell to the ground.

"Aww, it's broken," said the girl.

A boy with magenta and black hair, and a green outfit came into view, and panted, "Nora. Never do that again."

However, Nora was missing from her spot, and was up at the relics.

She picked up a rook piece, and chanted, "I'm Queen of the Castle! I'm Queen of the Castle!"

"NORA!"

"Coming Ren!"

Just then, Blake and Yang came from a hill top, and Yang said, "Hey sis! I see you're already. So you got a relic yet?"

I choose a knight, said Ruby, because, you know, I like animals.

"I think I'll do that too," said Yang, as she picked up a knight as well.

"Why, so that you'll be on the same team?" asked Weiss.

Well, to make up for lost time, said Ruby, 2 years ago, I found something, and well, I was scared, and... I just left without a word. And Yang and mom didn't know about my whereabouts at all.

Blake and Weiss looked at Ruby, until a high pitched scream was heard.

"Sounds like some girl is in trouble," said Yang.

That was Jaune, said Ruby, I'll go check.

However, from the sky, was Jaune, flying towards the temple.

Ruby was quick, and helped Jaune to the ground, and soon, a Death Stalker was seen chasing Pyrrha.

I got this! said Ruby, as she floated up.

She then unleashed Shadow Ball, stunning the beast, and said, BLAKE, QUICK, GO TO THE BACK! HOLD THE TAIL BACK!

Blake was fast, and she wrapped her weapon around the stinger, and pulled back.

Weiss, freeze the legs!

Weiss was quick, and she formed a glyph under the Grimm, which froze the legs.

You two! Go for the stinger! Jaune, Pyrrha, keep the claws away!

Ren and Nora then charged, and focused their shots on the stinger, while Jaune and Pyrrha kept irritating the scorpion, and blocking it's claw jabs.

The stinger was loose, and Ruby then said, Pyrrha, cut off the stinger! It's getting loose!

Pyrrha then launched her shield, and the stinger landed on the top of the Deathstalker's head.

Yang! Together!

Ruby then helped Yang up, and the two flew down, fists at the ready, and hit the beast dead center in the head, with the stinger acting like a nail!

Soon, the beast turned to dust, and Ruby said, So, who here has air sickness? Other than you Jaune.

"Why are you asking this?" asked Blake.

Ruby responded, with her picking them all up, and herself floating up.

Ruby also let Jaune and Pyrrha get a relic quick, and resumed the journey to the cliff.

At the cliff, they were the one of the last ones to arrive.

Soon, Ozpin was assigning teams to the new students.

"Russel Thrush, Sky Lark, Cardin Winchester, and Dove Bronzewing," announced Ozpin, "you have collected the black knight pieces. From this day forward you will be known as Team CRDL (Cardinal). Lead by... Cardin Winchester."

Team CRDL then walked off and the next set came up.

"Nora Valkyrie, Jaune Arc, Lie Ren, Pyrrha Nikos, you have collected the white rock pieces. From this day forward, you will be known as Team JNPR (Juniper). Lead by... Jaune Arc."

"Lead by?" asked Jaune.

Pyrrha then gave him a playful punch.

"Blake Belladonna, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Yang Xiao Long, you have collected the white knight pieces. From this day forward you will be known as Team RWBY (Ruby). Lead by... Ruby Rose."

Weiss looked at Ruby with shock in her face.

Yang then hugged Ruby and said, "Oh, I'm so proud of you."

The four then walked off, and Ruby asked, Were you hoping to be team leader?

"Yeah," said Weiss, "But, seeing you, and helping me, I'll give you a chance."

Ruby smiled. However, they were being watched, and their eyes were mainly on Ruby.
