The now Team RWBY were in their dorm, getting ready for tomorrow.
"Hey, Ruby," said Yang, "Did anything happen during your training?"
Ruby stopped, and said, Yes. Somethings did happen. Including an encounter with Egotistic Atlas Huntsmen.
"What happened there?" asked Blake.
Ruby looked at them, and said, During my time alone, I trained, and also helped rescue those in need. Mainly, children. They were young, and in abusive families. So, I brought them to a safe haven, and helped them find new families. However, there was an incident that I will never forget.
8 months after Ruby ran away...
Four soldiers were wondering the area, heading into a cave. There was something that kept people going in. So they were sent to check it out. They were the Ace Ops.
One of the soldiers was a man with short brown hair and teal-green eyes. He wore a sleeveless Atlesian Specialist uniform that consisted of a white sleeveless double breasted coat with red and blue accents with ornate detailing shaped to the form of wishbones, broad tail with red lining and a four-leaf clover pin on the lapel. His belt had a rabbit's foot keychain hanging off it. Clover also wore white pants and covered his hands with brown fingerless gloves. He also wears blue calf high boots with four dark blue straps and silver steel toe plating. His name was Clover.
The second was a tall man with short shaved gray hair, deathly pale skin and light blue eyes. He had several tattoos, including a third eye tattoo along the center of his forehead and chin. He wore an Atlesian Specialist uniform that consisted of a white double-breasted, partially unbuttoned coat with a broad tail, navy blue accents, collar and shoulder flaps, a red sash running diagonally over his left shoulder meeting a second red sash around his waist under a large blue belt, and navy blue fingerless gloves that go up to his brachium. He wore navy blue pants tucked into a pair of navy blue thigh-high boots with steel toe and heel plating, a small pouch on the sides and kneepad detailing. He wore beaded necklaces around his neck and beaded bracelets around his right arm alongside two silver bands, one small, one large on his left forearm. This was Vine.
The third was a tall young muscular woman with medium brown hair in a short ponytail, brown-tan skin, and brown eyes. She wore an Atlesian Specialist uniform that consists of an open white, one-sleeved crop jacket with dark blue accents, shoulder flaps and collar and a dark gray armor shirt. She had silver vambraces over her forearms. On her back, she had a magnet used to carry her weapon.
She had a red belt around her white pants and goes barefoot save for some martial arts footwraps alongside dark blue calf plates that cover the tops of her feet, the plates had three red straps tied around them; the soles of her feet are appropriately dirty as a result. She also had a silver hoop earring on her right ear. Her name is Elm
The last was a dark-skinned young woman with platinum blonde and brown hair shaved on the sides and dark pink eyes. While actively using her Semblance, her eyes glow gold.
She wore a very short-sleeved Specialist uniform that consists of a sleeveless white double-breasted vest with silver buttons and dark blue accents. It had a white and dark blue-collar, a dark blue short-sleeved t-shirt, a red tie and white shorts. She wore dark blue chaps that presumably connect to the tops of her shorts. The chaps exposed the inner part of the thighs and the backs of her calves. She also wore blue fingerless gloves and dark gray trainers with black accents and a white stripe accompanied with red socks. She also had white calf pads and dark blue knee pads as well. There were also dark blue straps fastened around the top of her vest. The blond portions of her hair were styled in a way that resembles a rabbit's ears.
This was Harriet, the most cocky of the team.
Inside the cave, the four looked around, and saw a child from the corner.
"There's a kid here," said Clover.
The child saw the Ace Ops, and quickly ran off. The Ops followed him, and found a huge tree within the cave. It was warm, and sun light came through a hole.
There were more children, Human and Faunus, all together.
"Hey," said Elm, "It's okay. We're not gonna hurt you. We're just going to bring you back to your families."
The children then backed up more, scared, when a shadow fell over them. Everyone looked up, and saw a figure floating down. She had a black combat skirt and corset with red frills, black stockings, and combat boots with red laces and soles. She wore a long sleeved shirt with red frills on the sleeves, and a red hood with a cape help by clips on her shoulders.
Her eyes were silver, with black hair that turned red at the tips. She had horns on her head that made them look like ears, a little tube on the back of her head that connected to her spine, and a purple tail that ended in a bulb.
Ruby landed in front of the children, and said, Why are you here?
"Are you the one who lives here?" asked Clover.
Yes, said Ruby, I take care of these children as well.
"Well," said Harriet, "We'll take it from here. You're coming with us."
"Harriet," said Clover.
That will not be happening, said Ruby.
"Please," said Vine, "We don't want any trouble."
Ruby looked at them, and said, I ask that you leave this place. It does not belong to you.
Harriet then used her semblance to get right up to Ruby.
"We tried being nice, but we're done playing. Come with us now, or you'll be facing the might of the Ace Ops, Mewtwo!"
Ruby then pushed Harriet back, making her fall on her back.
MY NAME, IS RUBY ROSE! I AM NOT AN EXPERIMENT!
"Touched a nerve, did I? Well-"
"HARRIET!" snapped Clover, "THAT IS ENOUGH! NOT ANOTHER WORD OUT OF YOU!"
Harriet complied, and Clover said, "Come with us, or we will use force."
Ruby looked at them, and saw them getting ready to fight.
Ruby closed her eyes, smirking, Fine. Alright. Come at me with that Atlas Might!
Harriet then charged, only to get caught in Psychic, and tossed back, hitting the cave wall.
Elm then launched some missiles, and Vine shot his Aura arms at Ruby, only for Ruby to block the missiles, and grab both of Vine's arms with one hand. Clover then smirked, and flicked his good luck charm, and launched his line towards Ruby, who launched Shadow Ball, pushing the line back at Clover, and launching him away.
"How!?" exclaimed Harriet, "Nothing can escape Clover's good luck semblance!"
Vine and Clover then launched their Aura arms and line at Ruby again, only for Ruby to counter them with Shadow Ball, hitting the two directly into the wall.
Harriet then charged, with Elm following, shifting her weapon into a hammer. Harriet charged, only to get stopped by Ruby in her tracks, holding her back by an arm's length. Elm then came down, and slammed down, only for Ruby to push the two back.
"You take the left, I'll take the right!" said Elm.
The two then jumped up, and slammed down on Ruby, dust flying everywhere. The children were quick, and hid. When the dust settled, it revealed Ruby holding both back. Harriet and Elm were shocked, and were unable to prepare themselves from Ruby slamming them together, before hitting them away with her tail.
The Ace Ops then got up, and looked at Ruby.
Are you done? asked Ruby.
"Not yet!" said Harriet, before taking off, and ramming at Ruby from all sides. She then jumped up, and slammed down hard, making a massive impact.
Harriet then stopped with the rest of her team, and panted, "That will show her... not to underestimate us."
However, the dust showed that Ruby was completely fine, and protected by a psychic barrier! The Ace Ops were shocked to see her completely unscathed. Ruby then launched herself up, and made a ball of energy, and it grew to massive size!
Ruby then threw it down, and the ball slammed down into the Ace Ops, depleting their Aura completely.
The four Atlas Huntsmen got up, and looked to see Ruby looking at them.
If I wanted you dead, she said, I would've done so.
They slowly got up, and Harriet said, "You got lucky."
Moments ago, continued Ruby, you spoke of might. The world is a large place. There are more things that have not been discovered. Knowing that, do you still think being the best will solve every problem you run into?
"Yes," said Clover, "Because it is our job! To help those who can't help themselves!"
"And we'll be by each other's sides for ever," said Elm.
Ruby looked at them, and said, Your bonds for friendship are authentic.
Harriet was about to speak up, when the children then came up to them, and said that they were amazing, and that not many were able to keep up with Ruby.
However, said Ruby, there are those with no such bonds.
Vine then realized it, "You rescued them, didn't you? These children were abused by their families."
Ruby simply lowered her head, and said, This is not a place for humans. However, you have brought me enjoyment, I have not felt, for a long time.
Ruby lifted her hand, and the children were lifted up. Ruby then created a wave of energy, that would teleport the Ace Ops away, and Ruby and the children left through the hole.
You are weak, short-lived, and incomplete creatures, said Ruby.
"WHAT WAS THAT!?" yelled Harriet.
Yet it is for those reasons, you all have infinite possibilities, hidden within you.
The light dissipated, and the Ace Ops were now in Ironwood's office.
"Sir!" said Harriet, "We found out what was in the cave! It was Mewtwo!"
Ironwood looked at them, and kept a stoic face.
"What are your orders sir?" asked Clover.
"Forget you ever saw her," said Ironwood.
"But sir-"
"That is an order! That poor girl has been through enough already!"
Ironwood then left, leaving the Ace Ops outspoken.
Present...
"Wow," said Weiss, "Just how strong are you supposed to be?"
I was genetically engineered to be the strongest being to ever live, said Ruby, and, it has put a target on my back at times.
"Like what?" asked Yang.
Ruby looked at Blake, who looked at Ruby.
I'd rather not talk about it, said Ruby, It's better if it was left untouched. Besides, we have school tomorrow.
Yang was upset that Ruby wouldn't share anymore stories, but respected her boundaries. Weiss was still curious, and wanted to know what happened.
Ruby climbed into bed, and thought, I just hope Weiss will accept Blake for who she is, not what.
