(Flashback) July 12, 1976 3:00 pm

Enoch yelled at her, "You're such a brat, Esmerelda! Just like your dad!" Erickson tried to defend his cousin from Enoch, but he was threatened by him that he shouldn't be on her side.

Erickson shouted, "DAD, STOP THIS MADNESS! MY COUSIN DID NOT DO SOMETHING BAD TO YOU!" He left the house, where he and Amelia drive to Riverbend Street, along with their 2 year old daughter, Eileen. "Amelia, I don't want my dad to hurt you or our daughter. If he continues to abuse my cousin, then we'll have to move into my mom's hometown, Properton Bloomfield."

Naomi tried to defend Esmerelda. "ESMERELDA IS NOT A BRAT! STOP MISTREATING HER! YOU'RE JUST DRUNK!" Enoch slapped her, "WHY DON'T YOU SHUT UP!" and he locks her in the basement. Fed up with her uncle's abuse, Esmerelda stands up for herself and she yells at him, "I AM NOT A BRAT! WHAT DID MY DAD EVER DID TO YOU!" She unlocks the basement to let Naomi free, and then they both leave the house, leaving Enoch alone.

They go back to Riverbend Street, where Esmerelda explains to Edward and Evelina the situation. "Esmerelda. I'm sorry for what uncle Enoch did to you," said Edward. "Edward. Enoch has been drunk from alcohol. Can't you help him stop drinking," said Evelina.

Esmerelda went to her bedroom, where she burst into tears, as Edwin and Esther comforts her. Edwin said, "Uncle Enoch should be a shame of himself for mistreating you, Esme." Esther couldn't taken anymore of uncle Enoch abusing Esmerelda. "I can't believe he did this to our little sister!"

Esmerelda scolds Edward and Evelina, and she said, "You two better figure it out this instant." Naomi turns to Edward and Evelina. "This is all your fault." They apologize to her for not listening to her and that they should have been here with her and Esmerelda to defend them from Enoch.

"It's my fault that I got you and Enoch into this," said Evelina. "Evelina, you shouldn't blame yourself. It's my fault that I made Enoch abuse our daughter and Naomi." Erickson and Amelia arrived, where he ask Evelina, "Can me and Amelia stay here for the night?" Evelina nodded and said, "Yes. The two of you can stay here."

Naomi holds Eileen, as she comforts her granddaughter. "Everything's going to be ok, Eileen. As long as I'm here with you and your parents, I am willing to protect you."

Esmerelda hugs Naomi, and said, "You can stay here, if you want, Aunt Naomi." Naomi had been a good mother figure to her, since Esmerelda was there to protect her from Enoch. Before she goes to the guest room, Naomi said to her, "Esmerelda. Your parents and I will figure out the situation to deal with your uncle."

Esmerelda went to Edward and Evelina's room, where Edward explains to her, "Your grandfather told me to give you this, before he was killed." She reads the note that was attach to the package.

Dear Esmerelda

My wand is in your possession. I want you to know that your grandmother and I are very proud of you, for all the things you did at Hogwarts. You will always be my little Ravenclaw.

She breaks into tears after reading the note, where Edward comforts her. Evelina, along with Edwin and Esther, joined them in a group hug as they mourned the loss of Nathaniel. "Those were the last words from Grandpa Nathaniel after his death."
