Chapter Forty-Five:
Wah-Pocalypse Chaos In The Mushroom Kingdom
Waluigi was capable of changing time with his powers. After taking over the convention hall, he'd used his staff to change the daytime into the timeframe of midnight, beyond sunset. Thanks to his powers, evening time lasted only a few hours, and dawn made its approach.
With Master Hand's help, the nigh-powerful lanky Italian established a Waluigi shrine within the convention hall, setting up a stage with a dais that would hold the Staff of Rejection. The staff would serve as the ultimate source of Waluigi's power as he unleashed his apocalyptic wrath unto the world.
And the Wah-Man intended to have his staff send up a massive beam of energy into the air, establishing Glitch-Con as his base of power. His T-Pose slaves knew their duty, and they would be his guards, just as they would be his army.
His mind-control powers over Master Hand never wavered, and the Smash host remained loyal to Waluigi, delighting the Italian thief-turned god of wrath. This was the appointed hour, and there wasn't any turning back.
"People spoke of the coming of Judgement Day for years..." Waluigi boasted evilly, "...and so many religions, movies, and stories had their own depictions of it, but none of them ever depicted that it would turn out to be... THE DAY OF WALUIGI! I am Ragnarök! The Great Götterdämmerung! LET THIS WORLD TREMBLE BEFORE UNLIMITED POWER!"
The muscular deity that was once a lanky Smash outcast threw his arms up, and his staff glowed intensely to the point where a pillar of purple energy shot through the ceiling, beaming up into the dawn-filled sky to create a cloud of evil.
One could easily be reminded of the many instances in certain movies where a beam was shot up into the sky like in the animated TMNT film or in Marvel's THE AVENGERS. But this was no portal in the making, this was the penultimate phase that led into the apocalypse.
Within Glitch-Con's halls, Waluigi felt a surge of energy within his very being, and he howled with glee.
"POWER!" He proclaimed, "UNLIMITED POWEEEEEEEEER!"
The Wah-Man was ready, and so were his forces. The group that included Meggy stayed near the Wah-Altar where the staff sat, and the others were in position for the attack, with Waluigi commanding them.
Destruction would rain upon the kingdom, and no one could avoid the inevitable storm!
Lightning exploded, followed by the rumble of thunder in the cloud over the convention hall, as Waluigi emerged from the building while the beam of energy got bigger and stronger by the moment. He faced Mushroom City, and stretched his arms out with maniacal laughter as the ground shook, and the chaos began.
Those whom Waluigi had already transformed into T-Posers prior to his attack on Glitch-Con, from Francis to the YouTube CEO, received the Wah-Man's signal in the back of their minds, and advanced into the open air to reveal themselves to all who were unprepared.
A pair of Toads were just walking past YouTube HQ's entrance when they saw the CEO emerging from the doors, accompanied by various YouTube staff, and the T-posing dinosaur advanced on the humanoid mushrooms before she and her employees attacked. The Toads screamed and begged for mercy, then they were silenced as they transformed.
Purple lightning rained down from the skies, and struck the rooftops of many buildings across the Mushroom Kingdom. Office building roofs were torn asunder, and rubble collapsed into the streets below, with a handful of Piantas screaming as the debris fell upon them.
The small squad of T-Pose Zombies Waluigi had made from the Glitch-Con attendees spread out through the streets, attacking anyone who crossed their path. On-duty Mushroom Kingdom Police officers caught sight of a pair of T-Pose Toads in their vicinity, and service pistols were drawn.
Purple lightning rained down upon a police car close by, and the vehicle exploded, while a pair of officers were either knocked out or mutated into T-Posing statues in seconds. A Toad serving as a police captain grabbed a megaphone that was on standby.
"Will the T-Pose crowd end the T-Posing demonstration?!" The captain called, "All suspicious T-Pose activity is to come to a halt at once!"
The group of approaching T-Pose Zombies, ignoring the demands, moved closer, and gunshots sounded through the streets, followed by the screams of uniformed cops being attacked. With each passing moment, the hordes of T-Posers grew, as more denizens of the Mushroom Kingdom joined the masses.
Waluigi smirked with glee, and concentrated his apocalyptic power with intense focus as he observed those who would soon be posing the T-Pose. In moments, purple mushrooms with 'T' symbols were appearing on doorsteps, on street corners, and in parkways around Mushroom City.
A passing Goron saw a T-Shroom laying on a bench, and picked it up, curious about how it tasted. Ignoring the grim disturbances in the air, the presence of T-Posing people, and the sounds of rumbling, the Goron popped the mushroom into his mouth before beginning to eat every last inch.
For a moment, nothing happened, and the Hyrulean rock-eating creature savored the taste. Seconds later, he felt a burning sensation in his body, and the Goron could feel his feet becoming heavy as lead. His vision began to blur, and the bones in his arm began to crack, as if a piece of his skeleton would burst out at any moment.
It was pain that he'd never felt before. The Goron screamed, and evil laughter filled the air. He wasn't alone, a Toad who'd eaten a purple shroom nearby was experiencing the same side effect, and the Goron felt his mouth muscles tighten with his vocal cords shrinking.
The Goron's knees trembled, then they settled, and the screaming ceased, the rock-eating Hylian volcano resident's arms rotated upward in a sideways position. His consciousness faded away, and all that was left was a T-Posing statue that was once a regular Goron from Death Mountain.
On a farm away from the city, the Minecraftian known as Steve strummed on the banjo as he listened to the sound of his chickens clucking while a few cows mooed gently. He heard the sound of rumbling in the sky, and turned on the phone to check the morning weather.
According to the charts, today's temperature was around 89 degrees, which was reasonable enough, but there was something clearly odd happening.
For a moment, Steve put away his phone, right before he saw purple-colored mushrooms appearing in his fields next to his chickens. The white-feathered egg-laying flightless birds stopped clucking, and started to peck the mushrooms.
Steve examined one of the mushrooms that appeared out of thin air, right before he heard one of his chickens shrieking like mad.
Feathers started flying, and the sound of fearful clucking filled the air. Steve dropped the mushroom, watching with horror as his chickens mutated into silent life-like statues with their wings spread in a sort of T-Pose.
"Chickens!" Steve cried with horror, 'My chickens have gotten a T-Pose virus. But how?'
And that was when purple lightning struck the barn. Steve took cover, right as chaos engulfed his farmland. Before his very eyes, his barn was reduced to rubble, with many of the animals inside either dead, or dying, or unconscious. He heard a moo, and saw a pair of his cows floating in the air with their front hooves held sideways.
No, not the cows too. Steve wanted to pinch himself, believe he was dreaming, that it was all in his head, but this was far too real to be nothing more than a dream. More lightning rained down, and the fields burst into flames. It was time to flee.
In downtown Mushroom City, the attention-seeking Saiko was making out with a burly anime-looking man named Bru'chiza, whom she'd bumped into a week prior. Saiko and Bruchiza continued encountering one another in the few days after that, until the latter admitted his love for the former, who began to flirt with him.
Saiko pinned the big boy against a concrete wall. Ever since the day she'd come to life, it was rare for the anime beauty to find someone who would give her attention, but such a moment like this felt well-deserved for her.
Bru'chiza held Saiko's hips gently, and the shapely anime fighter stroked his shoulders in a seductive fashion, both of them unaware of the apocalypse that had begun. Just then, a purple flash illuminated the city, and Saiko shrieked in alarm when she saw the man known as Bru'chiza still as a statue and T-Posing with a blank expression on his face.
Now she was noticing the chaos unfolding. Saiko saw people running for their lives, a purple beam of light shooting into the sky from somewhere, and Toads roaming in a T-Pose with a T-Pose Zombie Koopa coming Saiko's way.
She drew her hammer, and slammed the ground, sending the T-Pose Zombie flying into a car. The anime girl whipped around, spotting a pair of Piantas approaching her vicinity, and smacked them to the skies.
Bru'chiza approached, looking at Saiko blankly, and the hammer girl whacked him in the face, sending her burly crush sky high just before more T-Pose zombies entered the street corner.
As soon as she saw them coming, Saiko went ballistic. The anime girl was in motion with her weapon, smacking Inklings, Koopas, Toads, Piantas, and Zora all over the place. She dove out of the way before lightning exploded near her position, and she smashed a purple mushroom as it made an appearance on a nearby sidewalk.
Saiko spotted more T-Pose Zombies in the area, bearing cold, lifeless expressions on their faces, and she didn't even bother to count. Survival was important, and Saiko knew she couldn't fight back against the apocalypse on her own. For now, it was time to run.
Within the first hour of the apocalypse, hopelessness and panic was spreading across Mushroom City and the rest of the Mushroom Kingdom. People began boarding up their homes, others made haste for the doomsday bunkers while sealing themselves shut inside, and many more people ran for their lives.
Doom and despair was music to Waluigi's ears as he swept through the city, unleashing his very power that all would remember forever, and he blasted a pair of Piantas, morphing them into T-Pose Zombies in moments.
Waluigi held a staff akin to the one at his Glitch-Con shrine in his hand, summoned from the shadows, and channeled his power into it's core, letting loose everywhere he went. More homes exploded in rubble and flame as Waluigi fired off bolts of energy, and the streets were filled with more and more debris.
On a nearby district, Matt the Mii was flexing his shoulders as he exited the gym to the scene of chaos: Humans, Toads, and Miis were shrieking, running for their lives, pursued by T-Posing Koopas while purple lightning exploded above.
Matt looked around, and he saw Waluigi in the vicinity, unleashing his power from his staff and his hands while his eyes gleamed with sinister energy as he relished in the destruction he caused.
The sense of justice burned in Matt's heart. He wouldn't stand by and allow the Wah-Man's apocalyptic wrath to persist.
He took flight, and Matt intercepted the Wah-Man, facing him as bravely as possible. It was Matt who launched the first attack, throwing a hook at Waluigi towards his face. Time's flow became a slow crawl, and Waluigi floated out of the way, then he held his staff and shot a bolt of lighting at Matt's face.
Brimming with vigilance, Matt avoided the incoming attack, and flew closer towards the godlike Waluigi for another attack, only to get struck in the face by an explosion of power that disoriented his vision. Waluigi laughed maniacally, and charged, letting Matt have it.
The godlike Mii stood no chance, despite all the strength that he ever had.
Waluigi laughed maniacally, and that was when his powers struck again. This time, Matt's free will, and free soul were ripped from him. He felt his body become engulfed in pain, and his limbs twitched, standing straight and sideways with his legs becoming lead. His vision darkened, and his facial muscles tightened.
Every joint and movable bone in his body that served as part of his arms and legs froze up, and Matt felt his vocal cords turn to ice. In a split moment, he was on the ground, helpless, and under the whim of Waluigi.
And with the only bit of free thinking he had left, Matt's true self could only scream in the back of his mind as Waluigi deployed the Mii to attack the innocent alongside the other T-Pose Zombies. There were people who looked up to Matt, just as others feared him, and the mighty Mii had become a living nightmare just like everyone else.
