Chapter 2

The Scarlet Despair & the Princess

On the center of the village that was decimated by Irene few hours ago, two individual are watching the little evidence of the carnage that happens there due to Irene burned the all of the house to lose her track.

The first is a tall man with a muscular build. He has long green hair which extends past his shoulders, with bangs over his purple eyes. The hair standing on the top sides of his head has the appearance of cat ears. He covers his head with a turban, and wears a black and gold checker mask, and a cloth that covers the lower half of his face. He wearing a black jacket with a high collar over his robe and wield a mask with a handle as a wand.

The second is a large man with a muscular build. He has short black hair with large sideburns and three vertical dots on his forehead. He has thick triangle shaped eyebrows, a large nose, a triangle shape mustache, thick small lips, and stubble on his chin. He wears a tank top with a square like design pattern, he also wears a shirt with the same design. He wears a large belt with a spiders design and wears shoulder plates that have a flower like design on them and wearing sandals.

The muscular man later speak. "Wow. What carnage that happened here. According to you, who can do this kind of destruction, Ithnan-sama?" He asked another one known as Ithnan.

'Judging from the damage of the house, it's the work of Heat Magic. But, who can cause such destruction aside from Magi? If this is the works of Metal Vessel users, the damage will be much more than this.' Ithnan confused by this handwork as he replied. "You better continue your search Zurmudd. A speck of depravity isn't something we can't miss for." He said to the muscular man, known as Zurmudd.

"Okay then." Zurmudd sighed because he doesn't get his answer while walk away from Ithnan.

When Zurmudd not seen anymore, Ithnan clenching his fist because he wasting time in here. "To think that she managed to escape before I can corrupt her." He said in frustration. "That means someone must've knows about our existence besides that First-level Singularity and Magi. Let just hope this is not because of Falan foolish plan."

Meanwhile, inside a cave few miles away from the destroyed village, Irene is sitting while resting her back on the cave wall. Her staff is put not far away from her and she put her trademark hat on the ground. Beside her staff, the princess is seen sleeping, still induced by her Sleeping Magic.

Irene sighed. "I'm glad to at least found this cave. That should be enough for her to rest up for the time being." She said in relief before looking at the princess once again.

To be honest, this is not the first time she saw something like this. During her reign as Queen of Dragnof, she sometimes seen her neighboring country was destroyed and the royal family, including their children, being executed. It's a common goal in war to take down the ringleader to ensure victory.

But now, after that fateful battle with Erza and Wendy, she began to think if that tradition of her era is really the right thing to do. It's not like she'll regret it though as that's how it work in the past.

"I... Isaac..." The princess mumbling in her sleep despite still under the inducement of Sleeping Magic. Her body then shaking as she start to remembered the scene before Irene came. "I... Isaac...why'd you leave me?" She continued with some tears leak from her eyes. For the past few hours, the princess continues to mumbling and at one moment, trashing herself during her sleep, forcing Irene to induce her with more powerful Sleeping Magic.

Irene sighed. It's already her strongest spell yet. "I truly wonder... What kind of bond you have with that man that was killed in front of your eyes? I can suggest this Isaac person you always mumbling is precious to you. Is he your lover perhaps?" She asked practically to no one as she decided to pull off the Sleeping Magic from the princess, making her sleeping naturally now. "No need to worry, little princess. I promise that I'll take care of you."

Time quickly passed on. It's currently midnight.

Irene return back to the cave after hunting for some deer, which she found to be abundant on this area. She currently put the already chopped off deer meat inside Spatial Magic, and then using her Enchant to make a fire camp inside the cave. After that, she then took a seat close to the sleeping princess. This maybe looks out of her character as the former queen of a country, but she sometimes do the hunt on her reign for her people and her dear friend, Belserion. The thing is that she maybe won't be able to taste it thanks to her dragon physiology.

She currently ready to cook her meal before she heard mumbling from her little passenger.

"Uuuhh..." The princess is start to wake up. She yawned before rubbing both of her eyes using her right hand. The last thing she remembered was meeting with a red-haired woman that ordered her to close her eyes. Everything went blank after that. She then gasp and quickly get up from her sleeping position after she realizing her surrounding. "Huh?!" She then look her surroundings in panic. Her face is filled with fear. 'Where... Am I? D-Did I get caught?!'

"Ah, I'm glad you awake, my dear princess." Irene said with a small smile seeing her is wake up.

The princess then looks at Irene once again as she remembering what she do to the villagers. She's still wary of her because the gruesome acts and visibly shivering in fear. "Stay... Away... Please..." She said with fear as she backs down from Irene.

Irene noticed her fear and approach her from her seat. "No need to fear me, little princess. I won't hurt you." She assured.

Even after that, the princess still had a fear look on her face.

"Now, why don't you sit beside me?" Irene offered.

She didn't move at all.

Irene sighed. She knows that wasn't a right word since in front of her is a traumatized child that probably around the same age as the small Dragon Slayer that accompany Erza. "I see. If that the case, I'll sit beside you." She then stand up and walking toward her, making the princess reflectively flinched in fear. After close to her, she then sitting beside her. "Like I said before. You have no need to fear me." She then saw some tears on the princess face, and wiping it using her right hand fingers while also touching her right cheek. Strangely she doesn't trash around at all as she surprised with such an act. "It's okay. You save now."

'Save... I am... Save?' She thought, not expecting those words as something inside her starting to pour all over the place. Instinctively, she then slowly crawl to Irene and hugging her tightly despite their differences in size. She then making a loud cry: pouring all of sadness and anguish that she been holding for days ever since her escape with Isaac during Musta'sim Kingdom rebellion.

Irene couldn't do nothing but patting her head as she never do this before in her life. "There, my dear. Just let it all out." She said.

The princess keeps crying harder and harder. This could be a long time.

An hour already passed. The princess finally stop crying, but her face still showing sadness, clearly shown by the way she watch the campfire.

Meanwhile, Irene is busy cooking the deer meat by using Gravity Magic to make the deer meat floating above the campfire. Her act seem piqued the princess interests a little, which she noticed and curiously ask. "You had some interest in Magic princess?"

However, Irene didn't pick any interest in her eyes. It's the look of hatred on it.

'Oh yes I forgot. Her country, according from what I know by reading the mind of that mustache soldiers... Being overthrown by this world magician. However, I doesn't find the true reason behind this rebellion other than the noble family being arrogant like in many countries.' She reminiscing the time when she read the captain mind. "You hate magician, am I right? Because they was the reason your kingdom being overthrown and that look of disdain despite your sadness." She guessed the princess mind.

The princess surprise with Irene sharp guess. How could a stranger know about it? Could Irene is one of the magician from Magnostadt Academy as well? Her body starting to shiver once more because of fear that creep into her once again, fearing the worst scenario.

"I have my own way to know or maybe because it was shown clearly on the way you look at me." Irene replied as she know the princess will ask her sooner or later. "Tell me, do you hate magician or not?"

The princess didn't reply. She then clenches her fist, signalling her answer.

"I take that as a yes." Irene concluded before looking toward the deer that she cook. "But still... To think your country could fall in that manner nonetheless in a day... It means your father, the ruler of the kingdom... Didn't love its people." She opined.

However, hearing it make the princess suddenly stand up with hateful look on her eyes as she screams. "How dare you mock father! He... He's a good king! A stranger like you had no right to-"

"To your eyes, maybe yes he's a good father." Irene cut off, glad that she finally able to lure the princess to speak. "But how about what he do behind you? The weakness of every kingdom nation is one. If the royal family that ruled care more about their wealth than their own people... The country is destined to fall. At least that's my opinion." She explains based on her experience of running Dragnof and see some of her neighboring kingdom also fall because of this pattern. "Not realizing it, you unexpectedly swallow into. It's something that can't be denied no matter what you think."

After hearing Irene harsh opinion, the princess become silent. She didn't know how to reply as she can't just accept such thing. She then look down while seems want to cry again. "That's... Impossible... He... Father is... H-He never have..."

"You're never realize that because you're still a child, young princess. All parent commonly never wanted to show their rotten side to their children so they won't follow their path." Irene said. 'Like what I do with Erza back then...'

The princess finally let out small word after the turmoil inside her heart. "Why... Why do you save me?" She asked.

Irene sighed. "Let me straighten things up first, little princess. After I reading that captain mind, I can't denying the fact that I really hate your family and the nobles of your king down. However... I won't let a little girl without any sin such as you being killed in such brutal way in order to satisfy the mass. That's why I massacred that village for dare to do things like that." She stated.

The princess later look down after hearing it as something ring inside her head. 'If I think about it once again, what she say have some truth in it. Father… He sometimes had a large party with the others and...I even don't know how he getting money for it...'

"That's right. Before I'm forgot, tell me your name little princess. I can't call you by little princess every day you know." Irene demanded.

The princess at first didn't answer, until she finally looks to Irene once again. "My name is Dunya. Dunya Musta'sim."

"Dunya... I see. A fit name for a princess." Irene commented before introducting herself as well. "Well then, I think I shall tell you my name for courtesy. My name is Irene. Irene Belserion."

"Then, can I call you Irene-sama?" Dunya asked.

"Call me anything you want." Irene didn't care of how Dunya will calling her as she looking at her small figure. She like to talk about something with her. "Is there more you want to speak?'

"Um yes... Irene-sama, I... I really thank you for saving me back then. Forgive me for my harsh words before." Dunya expresses her thanks. However, her demeanor turns to sadness once more. "But...the captain that killed Isaac... He said that it's my destiny to die. The villagers... They also look at me with hatred. If that so, it's better if I die right? Because... No one in this world wanted me anymore..."

"So my hunch is right? This Isaac person... Is he the one that was killed for protecting you?" Irene guessed before speak in respect for the fallen man. "He must be someone very precious to you."

Dunya nodded as she didn't mind about Irene words. She after all saved her from certain death, and that all matters.

"If I must advice you, don't listen to that vile captain words. He said that to justify his actions as a rebel to your father's rule. The same for the villagers. All of them are in the state of overwhelming victory." Irene opined. "And you fate is not to die. There is no everyone with the fate to die by being born to this world."

"But he said that I-"

"Dunya, what do you think about fate?" Irene asked all of a sudden.

"F-fate... Is something that can't be changed no matter what you do. Because... There is someone that binds it. Is that right?" Dunya replied.

"That's wrong." Irene denied. "Fate isn't something to be bowed with. It's something that must be surpassed. Your situation during that time, even if I didn't come to save you, you must be struggling to stay alive right? That's one example you tried to surpass your fate."

"Then, how about cursing your fate?" Dunya asked, when suddenly the black butterfly-like thing is gathered around her.

Irene became cautious seeing it. Then, her mind quickly analyzed. 'Now I see. It seems in this world, those who curse their own fate in this world...become an easy access to evil. That's why somehow I sensed something evil from this strange butterfly-like thing. The concept is the opposite of my world where the concept like this was non existed as many Dark Wizard become evil by their own will.' She thought before grab Dunya's left shoulder. "Dunya, calm yourself."

"If there's something that already been decided... I... I can't accept it. Because of such thing, Isaac... His love for Musta'sim being trampled upon..." Dunya said as she clenching her torn-up dress. "If that so... I-"

"If you cursing your fate in this way, then you have no pride at all of being born as a princess in the first place." Irene sighed while she shook her head in disappointment. "When I thought you had some potential, it seems I was wrong."

"But... That's truth isn't it Irene-sama!" Dunya yelled at her while her face showing clear anger. "IF THERE'S SUCH POWER THAT CONTROLLING EVERY ACTION WE MAKE... I CAN'T ACCEPT IT!? DOES IT MEAN THAT ISAAC IS DESTINED TO DIE IN THE FIRST PLACE!"

"Dunya, can you please just sit and do this talk without any yelling?" Irene casually said. "It's true that fate sometimes can be painful. But... Someone who only curse it and not find any way to change it, are lower than insect according to me." Irene then looking outside the cave. "You know, I had an old friend. She was telling me about her origins as a daughter of a very evil mother that discarded her the moment she was born. However, after knowing the truth, instead of cursing her fate of having such kind of mother, she thanked her. She said because of it, she found her friends and true family. A place where she truly belong." Irene said, clearly lying as the thing she talking about was actually about her conversation with Erza before their battle. "For now, you just feeling empty inside you and let those negative emotion clouding your judgment. But, if you can find another thing that can be something precious to you to move on from your past, I'm pretty sure that's also what this Isaac wanted when he protected you from certain death."

Dunya didn't expect such word as she begin to have doubt. 'How... How could her friends can be that strong?' She thought as she decide to ask Irene. "But... How could she accept her fate that easily?" She asked as the black butterfly-like thing starting to dissipate slowly.

"She doesn't accept her fate. She makes her own." She replied. "What I mean is... Fate isn't something to bow down and changed with. We can make our own fate. The more easy words are: We are the master of our own destiny and must live our life with pride."

"Live my life... With pride..." Dunya parroted as she become even more confused. "But... What can I... Do for that? I... I can't..."

"First... Find some new drive in your life. Then, you can become the master of your own fate from it." Irene explained, showing her philosophical side.

"Become master of my own... Fate..." Dunya uttered and thinking for a while. 'Irene-sama is right. After all, Isaac die protecting me. If I only crying like a little baby, he won't be happy. I won't let his sacrifice be in vain!' She thought. "You're right... Irene-sama. If that so, I promised I'll live on for the sake of those that protects me..." After she said that, the black butterfly then is dispersed completely as she rubbing her eyes.

However, the black butterfly piqued Irene interest. But to know the true meaning about it, she seems must find a fellow magician that without a doubt had the knowledge about it: A hard task since she not belong in this world and the Magic system of course is different from her world. "I'm glad your resolve is back. That's what I expected from a princess." She smiled. She then looks at the cooked meat, only to find it being burnt until black. "Oh my."

Dunya who looked it as well, feel guilty as she gasps in surprise. "I'm sorry for your meal Irene-sama. If only I not bothering you..." She apologized.

"Rather than letting you fall to something not fit for your age, this is nothing." Irene dismissed her guilt. "It seems I didn't eat tonight. Well, I just sleep then." She then put her trademark hat, before lie her body down close to the cave wall to sleep although she actually not need any of it.

'Such quick change of mind!?' Dunya surprised comically as her eyes turn white in surprise.

Irene then looking at surprised Dunya. "What's the matter Dunya? You don't want to sleep?" She asked while offering a place beside her.

Dunya then quickly shook her head. "It's okay Irene-sama. I will sleep if I want. After all, you're tired enough for keep watching over me." Dunya replied with a small smile.

"If that so." Irene nonchalantly said before turning her body facing the cave wall.

Meanwhile, Dunya still sitting, watching the fire from the campfire made by Irene. She then heard some soft sound to find out that Irene already asleep. She then had a sad look on her face remembering the talk a few minutes ago. "It's because of me... She can't eat this night." She mumbled. She then look at the outside, and had determined look on her eyes, knowing what she must do to repay her savior.

In the morning, sun-rays reaching the mouth of the cave replacing the moonlight.

The former Queen of Dragons then slowly opened her eyes and sit up to look that beside her, there are some poorly made soup of mixed vegetables that of course probably far from being edible... At least for human. "Don't tell me that child..." Looking at her feet that feel heavy, she founds that Dunya is sleeping using Irene feet as a pillow. From the look of her face, she looks very tired with her mouth slightly open. Her clothes also become dirty and had some rips on its bottom. Without a doubt because at midnight, she came out from the cave and searching for edible vegetables for making soup, which Irene known she never make one thanks to her princess heritage.

Even so, Irene then strokes Dunya's head gently, making the former princess unconsciously smile in her sleep. "Foolish girl. I actually don't need food. Even so, thank you for it." She said as she later sensing someone Magical Power approaching the cave. "It seems we have company. I'll greet them nicely." She then stand up, preparing to face whatever it is as she gently put Dunya's head to the rock close to her body as a pillow.

Outside the cave, Ithnan is standing in anticipation. "According to what I detect, she's inside that cave. I wonder how he ends up here though." He then charging Lightning Magic on his wand. "Let's test it if that's true. After all, her hatred was beneficial for our goal." He claimed before shooting streams of lightning on the cave. Suddenly, a red-colored blast is shoot from inside the cave, parried the lightning strike as it explode after some clash. "What the-" Ithnan then sensing someone exiting the cave.

"Ah, I think who. It turns out to be a magician." Irene calmly said as she exiting from the cave while wielding her wooden staff. "I can guess you're from Magnostadt Academy?"

Ithnan smile is not seen behind his fabric. "I'm not one of them. But you can say that we're allies for the time being." He said with a malicious smile hidden by his mouth mask.

Irene realized she is now facing the first hostile person since she found herself in this unknown, new world. However, she felt something odd about her adversaries. 'What's wrong with him? I don't sense any life on him. It is similar like what I sense on Juliet and Heine.' Irene thought after sensing Ithnan aura. Is this man is some kind of enchanhed item made using Personality Enchant?

'This woman... She's not ordinary magician at all. Her Magoi... Is nothing like I've sense before. Moreover, I don't see any Rukh surrounding her. What's the meaning of this?' Ithnan thought observably after sensing Irene raw Magical Power. 'Judging from the way she hold that staff, she's an experienced close quarter combatant. I had no chance defeating her in a straight-up close combat. That means... I'll try my luck from a distance.'

"Hey, if you keep silent-" Swing her staff to the left, dozens of Energy Ball forming around her. "-Then I'll do the first knockout." She then launching it to Ithnan. 'Disappear.'

"Hmph. Think again if you think those puny Magoi Ball can affect me." Ithnan suddenly surrounded by yellow Energy Barrier that repelling the Magic Ball. "That's was not even can call an attack at all." He taunted.

Irene however, does not shown surprise as she smirk in battle lust. "An Energy Barrier I see. It seems it react instinctively to an incoming attack. You have good mastery of it I must say." Irene amazed by it. "However, can you block this one?" her staff later glowing red.

Ithnan realized what she's doing as he sensing something below his footing. "Don't tell me!" The ground below him is glowing red, which make sure hit via a massive explosion if Ithnan didn't avoid it in time by floating in the air. 'Impossible! That's Aberrant Magic! And she doing it instantaneously without any chanting!? Moreover, it's not the capacity of any magician I came across!'

'I shall see her moves then.' Ithnan later preparing some Magoi Ball around him as it imbued with Lightning Magic. "Ramz Al-Salos!" A barrage of electric streams later raced toward Irene once again.

"Hmph, fool." Irene mocked while parried it with her own Disappear spell barrage.

Ithnan truly shocked seeing one of his strongest spell deflected with ease twice. This woman is not your normal magician.

"I can't believe that someone with your appearance only had this much Magical Power. You really disappointing, young man. At least one that I know able to decimate a huge part of this area with a weaker spell than you did." Irene mocked him for his lack of training while indirectly mentioning August.

"Such word... Is not enough to make me lose my composure." Ithnan said with calm tone although his mind clearly confused by the outcome. 'This woman... Is she some kind of special magician? There's no way she can master Aberrant Magic so skilfully. Only Magi can create enough destructive power to match the Metal Vessel.'

"Hmm... Let me guess, it seems you had some business with Dunya inside are you not? However, I won't let you pass that easy." Irene guessed.

Inside the cave, Dunya is still sleeping peacefully before then yawned and wake up from her sleep, sitting and rubbing her eyes. 'W-What's the commotion about?' She thought as the sound of clash between Irene and Ithnan are not a calm one.

"Oh, you're smart one aren't you?" Ithnan amused by her guess. "However, since I'm being outgunned I'll drawback for now. I admit it was my first time encountering such powerful magician except the magi many years ago." He then using his wand to levitate via Gravity Magic as he sitting on it."If that so, I give up chasing her. There's no way I can corrupt her with Black Rukh now. However, even you won't stand a chance against us. Because everything... Will be according to Al-Thamen agenda." He said as he flew away quickly from the scene, knowing Irene won't bother chasing him. 'But still this is bad. According to my calculation she probably can match Arba in battle. I must at least told her about this.'

As Ithnan disappearing between the clouds, Irene seems amused by his words. She then clenching her staff tightly as she hold the urge from chasing him. "Al-Thamen huh? Impressive name for a Dark Guild. Don't think I'll let you and all of your goons escaped with this. However, since I watch over Dunya, our fight will become stalemate masked magician. For now at least." Irene commented before turn back to the cave.

"Irene-sama?" Dunya called her while she exiting the cave. "Is something the matter? I've heard some explosion-" She stopped talking when she seeing some holes on the ground and cave wall due to the clash between Irene and Ithnan. "Who's attacking us!? Is the Magician come to kill me?!" She asked with fear of her own life.

Irene shook her head. "No, he's not from Magnostadt Academy but I already chased him away. You had no need to worry about that." She assured her.

"Really?" Dunya asked.

"Really. Now, can we go back to the cave?" Irene persuade.

"Alright Irene-sama." Dunya obeyed. The two of them later return to the inside of the cave.

Now, we return to Musta'sim Kingdom, now known as Magnostadt. Due to the bloody rebellion, almost all of the nobles are executed, with the magician now holding the highest power in the country.

In the castle, Mogammet is receiving report from his trusted magician that scouting the are to look for Dunya.

"What? The village is being burned out without any survivors?" Mogammet asked in calm voice, maintaining his composure.

"Yes Headmaster. The village that said where former princess, Dunya, is hiding is now in ruckus. There's nothing left in it." The magician informed with calm tone.

"What other evidence you found?" Mogammet wondered.

"From our investigation of the site, it was probably destroyed by some kind of Aberrant Magic. Judging from the speck of Magoi that left, the destruction... Is caused by a Magician." The magician explained.

'A magician... Can destroy an entire village on her own? Who is it? Did a Magi shows up? No. All of them already lonely in the country of Goi except for that wandering one. And I know that he's a peaceful person that never sparks conflict besides making Dungeon appears out of nowhere.' Mogammet tried to piece the puzzle, only not founding any clue. "Then, I can assume-"

"It seems the princess also died in the massacre. Forgive us for not meeting your expectations." The Magician replied grimly.

Mogammet nodded, accepting the report. "You can go back to your task. After some days passed, I assure you that this rebellion will make the strongest magician country in history." He instructed.

"Like you said Headmaster. Now, if I may." The Magician bowed before leaving the room.

After he left, Mogammet touching his forehead in confusion and amazement of the report. "Aberrant Magic? Who's the one can use such rare Magic beside a Magi... After the country already stabilized enough... It was worth to be investigate..." He mumbled.

Back to the inside of the cave and currently at noon, Irene and Dunya are now enjoying their lunch. They recently hunted deer once again and this time, the meat is well-cooked. For Irene though, as a dragon, the meat will be tasteless but for Dunya, she seems enjoying it. Irene also preparing some plate, spoon, and fork using her Enchant, creating it from many small rocks inside the cave.

"I'm surprised a princess like you can enjoy such food. But that was expected, since you don't eat from yesterday." Irene commented as she see Dunya eagerly eating her lunch.

"No." Dunya said after take a bite. "I think this is delicious! I never expected grilled meat can be this good!"

Irene chuckles seeing the princess behavior. "If somehow your country still exists, you'll make a good ruler Dunya. Enjoying the meal of the commoner is the first step of it."

"Country..." Dunya then look down after hearing that particular word. 'If only I'm still a princess... I maybe...'

'Oh shit.' Irene thought. She should be watching her mouth more carefully next time.

However, Dunya later close her eyes and shook her head. "No. I can't be a crybaby anymore. Isaac won't like it if I'm still weak." She uttered to herself.

Irene smiled hearing her determination. She's glad that Isaac becoming Dunya's anchor to look forward toward her own future.

However, it can't be like that forever.

"Dunya. What are you plan to do now?" Irene asked.

Dunya shook her head. "Honestly I don't know, Irene-sama. Now I can't go anywhere. In truth, I planned to go to a political marriage from an archduke of the neighboring small country to strengthen our kingdom. But, fate seems tell other event for me." She said while holding some tears. No matter how much she tried to act strong, the pain of being betrayed by the very country she loved so much can't go away that easily.

"I see. Then, why don't you go with me?" Irene offered. After all, she won't dare leaving such little girl on her own.

"Go with you?" Dunya confused. "Do you mean it, Irene-sama?"

Irene nodded. "If you don't want to, I can search a village for you to start a new life. What your answer? Although I can't promise a safe, permanent house. We will mostly wandering around the world. What'd you say?"

Dunya then silent for a moment, before finally make her decision. "I want to go with you Irene-sama. After the incident, I can't easily trust anyone. You're the only I can trust now Irene-sama, please let me go with you. I'll do anything." Dunya said.

Irene smirk hearing it.

Dunya confused seeing her expression. "Umm... Irene-sama?"

"Okay then. If that so, you must be prepared to try defend yourself. Because I can't protect you at any time if someone bad tried to hurt you and I don't want my travelling companion is such a weakling or damsel in distress." Irene said, agreed to take Dunya under her wing.

"Defend myself? But... How? I have little knowledge about using a weapon... You also a magician, the one that choosen by Rukh while I'm just a regular human." Dunya wondered.

"That's what I'm going to do with you. I'm going to teach you my Magic: Enchant, plus some basic fighting skills." Irene said. "With that, you can become a strong Enchanter. And if you think that only magician that can use Magic from birth, you're totally wrong."

"What do you mean by that? Does that mean every human can actually using Magic?" Dunya asked with curiosity.

"Yes. Every human had capabilities to use Magic if they learn its source." Irene summarized. "Follow me. I'll show you how it's done."

They later go into the forest. Dunya is sitting on a rock, while Irene drawing something in a tree in front of her.

'Human that are not magician can also use Magic? I'm curious... How Irene-sama countries look like? I Maybe can ask her after this.' Dunya thought.

"That should go." Irene said after finishing her drawing. "I hope you listen to this."

Dunya nodded.

Irene then point at her drawing with her staff. "To be able to use Magic, one must have a Magical Power for it to work."

"Is that our inner energy? Magoi you mean?" Dunya asked.

Irene shook her head. "Yes, but not on the target enough. My Magic need something else after inner energy. Let me demonstrate." The tip of her staff later glowing, and she stab the tree beside her. "You see. This is the same technique that I use against that captain. Back to the explanation. My Magic based on Magical Power inside my body that being materialized into a spell for it to work. We can also strengthen using our own inner energy if we want."

"But...how I get that Magical Power?" Dunya become more confused. This explanation is same like the Magnostadt Academy did when she visits it during the royal inspection.

"Like I said before, everyone had potential to use Magic. Even the magician. If they tried to use these, then their Magic will become even more powerful. However, after realize it; it will become a double-edged sword. This Magical Power will connect to your body. It means, if you ran out of it you'll die in form of Magic Deficiency Disease." Irene explained.

Dunya gulp in disbelief hearing that part.

"Now back to your question. To get the Magical Power, you must attract Ethernano to your body." Irene said.

"Ethernano..." Dunya confused by the terms.

"A small particles that exist in the air. They can be absorbed once you unlock your Magical Power, and once it inside your body it will become your Magical Power, and like the one you said Magoi." Irene said. "If I theorized for now, the butterfly-like thing that surrounding you yesterday have a different composition than Ethernano. What you need is absorb them into your body for your Magical Power."

"Then... It's easier to say that if we ran out... We can absorb this Ethernano particles in the air naturally if we already get used to it." Dunya tried to summarize Irene's explanation.

"Correct. If you ask how fast Ethernano can be absorbed to a magician body, it depends on the strength of the user. The process will be repeated if we ran out of Magical Power." Irene adds her explanation. "And, the best way to attract Ethernano through your body, is meditating."

Dunya nodded in understanding.

"However, before I forget, this is something that I get from my friend." Irene lied once again, since she get this particular explanation from Zeref himself. "For someone to use Magic, they need more than just materializing those Magical Power in the form of a spell. It's something that I find absurd. And that is... The strength of feeling of each magician. If you had those, then your will be easy in casting Magic." Irene replay Zeref words.

"How strong... Our feelings will determined... How strong my Magic will be?" Dunya said while look at her right palm before close it in determination. "All right! I feel more excited rather than being teach by my teacher!" She said with excited tone. "Please to meet your guidance, Irene-sama!"

Irene smiled. 'Ah...you will become powerful Mage, Dunya. I'll promise you.' She thought. Little did she know that this one training will change this world... Forever.

Author Notes

And that's for second chapter. The next chapter will go tells us about Dunya training.

For Irene vs Ithnan, I'm sorry for the fight is just a moment. But, as I see both Anime, I concluded that Irene is way stronger than Ithnan in many way. If he tried to fight Irene long enough, he'll surely die. I want to make sure Irene and Ithnan fight it's like how Ohtaka portrays Al-Thamen. I'm sorry if this upsetting Magi fans, but aside from Arba, Judar, Appolonius, Isaac, Byoln, Dun'ya, and Zurmudd; All of Al-Thamen are weakling. They mostly rely on curse and sly words rather than strength, something I find very funny according to me. Rather than portraying strong antagonist, is portraying cunning one despite living in the world of absurd Magic and Metal Vessel.

See you in the next update!
