Chapter 15: Demon Versus Beast – Part 2
It didn't take Akira too long to pick up Takeshi's scent.
After flying through and above dozens of buildings and skyscrapers, he came across one with a shattered penthouse. And sure enough, he spotted the blue beast, barely holding himself on his feet with a hand on the guardrails to help himself stand up, while with the other, he clutched his side, where Sirene kicked him.
"Tak!" shouted Akira upon spotting him, relieved to see that his friend was still in one piece. Takeshi then turned his eyes at the direction of Akira's voice and promptly spotted him, landing before him on the floor and folding his wings.
"Akira…. Thank goodness… you've come…." was all Takeshi could weakly manage in a reassured tone, relieved that Takae had managed to call him (and a little surprised to see that Akira had wings on his back) , before closing his eyes and grunting in pain due to him trying to force himself back on his feet. The injuries he had sustained were beginning to take their toll on him again.
Upon noticing his legs beginning to give away, Akira ran towards Takeshi and caught him by the back and by his left shoulder, holding him up, before he could fall on the floor again.
"Don't push yourself. You can't even hold yourself up." spoke Akira, with a serious tone, upon noticing the deep slashes on Takeshi's chest, courtesy of the Demon Bird's talons, some drops of blood still coming out of them.
"Yeah, that harpy got me good." replied the blue beast, somehow managing to flash a smile at Akira, in spite of the pain he was in. However it did nothing to remove Akira's seriousness and worry from his face.
"You idiot. She could have killed you! And yet you just charged in head-first without even knowing how strong she would be!" spoke Akira, raising his voice a little, reprimanding Takeshi for his recklessness. In his voice however there was also relief. He was afraid that he would have lost yet another friend. Luckily, Takeshi had somehow managed once again to not get himself killed.
In response, Takeshi eyed Akira in his black eyes before replying, this time in a slighly irritated tone "Well, i coudn't just stay put and do nothing! That bitch was going to kill Miss Fudo! And in case you have forgotten, she's the one who saved us all! I owe her everything! It's only thanks to her that i, Takae, our child and countless others like us now have a fut- NGHHHH!" he was interrupted by a surge of pain in his body from his injuries, a little bit of blood coming out of his mouth due to him getting upset about Akira calling him out.
Akira's face softened up at Takeshi's words. He began to feel guilty at what he said. As worried as he was at the thought of losing another friend, Takeshi was right. If he hadn't intervened, if he hadn't put himself in between, Sirene would have killed Jun. If it wasn't for him, Jun woudn't have a fighting chance by now. Even though, he wasn't aware of it, he had saved Akira's girlfriend.
He then replied "Takeshi…. I'm sorry. I just didn't want to lose another friend…." in a apologetic tone after putting him gently on the ground, leaning his back towards what little remained of the penthouse's wall.
Takeshi then grabbed Akira's arm, his eyes once again meeting the half-devil's back eyes. He then spoke weakly "D-don't worry about me….. i'll be fine… " feeling himself getting weaker and weaker with each passing second.
"Please Akira….. save Miss Fudo…. You have no idea…. Of what she's been through…. She doesn't deserve to die….. not after….. everything…. she has….. endured…."
As soon as those last, pleading words left Takeshi's mouth, he let go of Akira's arm, his eyes closed themselves and he passed out. After making sure that he was breathing, Akira stood up, turned around, removed his pants and fully transformed into his demonic form. He then took one last look at Takeshi, smiled and spoke "Rest for now. And thank you." gratitude apparent in his voice. This time, Akira truly was in debt with him. After sheltering him in his house, providing him with a nice bed to sleep in, having him meet new friends, fighing side by side with him at the dancing club, he had now saved Jun, his girlfriend. Few people did so much for him just as Takeshi had. He was glad to have him, such a wonderful and resoluted young man as a friend, someone to count on at all times.
He then spread his wings and took off once again, hoping to arrive in time to rescue his girlfriend. Luckily, it didn't take him too long to catch a glimpse of the battle that was going on between Jun and Sirene because as soon as he reached the outskirts of the city he saw a huge explosion occur in the midst of the woods outside the city.
"There!" he spoke in a concerned tone, before quickly heading towards it, increasing his speed in the hope of arriving in time.
(Back at the forest)
(OST: "At War With Kaileena" = Prince of Persia: Warrior Within Soundtrack)
The aerial battle between the two demonic beauties still raged on. This time, no punches were being pulled, there was no more holding back. The two were throwing everything they had at each other. And this time the whole environment began to be affected by their power.
"FALL!" Roared Sirene in the air before extending both of her arms and firing a barrage of yellow energy blasts towards Jun, only this time, the Devil Lady was prepared. With the grace of an eagle and the speed of a peregrine falcon, she waved through all of them before flying towards Sirene and delivering a powerful right punch on her face, sending her flying dozens of meters backwards while the blasts exploded into the ground, destroying several trees and rocks.
"YOU'RE A FOOL IF YOU THINK I'LL FALL FOR THAT AGAIN!" Mocked Jun, with a slasher smile on her face, believing to have gotten the upper hand. With a mighty flap of her purple wings, she closed the distance before raising one of her legs high, with the intention of delivering an axe kick to Sirene's head.
But as she brought down her leg, her smile was replaced by surprise as the Demon Bird effortlessy caught Jun's leg mere inches before the back of her foot could hit Sirene's head. A devious, toothy smile formed on her lips before she spoke in a menacing, mocking tone "Mmph. That did not even tickle!"
She then kicked Jun in the chin, hurling her dozens of meters backwards before flying towards her, intending to slash her chest with one of her talons, but Jun, recovering quickly, threw another punch at Sirene's face, forcing her to block it with her hand. They both then began to furiously trade punches and kicks neither managing to overpower the other, in a spectacle of sparks, blood and power, the mere shockwaves of their attacks colliding, shaking the entire forest. It truly was a battle of equals, two mighty demonesses going all out.
Finally after a while, they both hit each other at the same time in the face with Sirene punching Jun and the Devil Lady striking the Demon Bird's face with a kick. This caused them to plummet into the ground but it only slowed them down for a few seconds.
Immediately getting on their feet, they both let out a mighty, beastial roar before charging each other again. This time they both threw a punch at each other only for both of them to block it with the other hand. They then locked their fingers with each other, essentially locking the two demonic beauties in a test of strength.
Jun and Sirene both snarled at each other like wild animals, baring their sharp teeth, their eyes filled with monstrous fury and bloodlust as they both tried to overpower the other, putting more and more of their strength in their thrusts until their bodies became engulfed by their auras which flared in all directions. The entire forest began to shake, rocks cracking all around them and lifting smaller rocks in the air due to the amount of power being unleashed, but no matter how much they tried, none of them managed to overpower the other.
That was until Sirene, tired of the stalemate and with a wide, sadistic smile forming on her lips, pulled her head backwards before slamming it straight into Jun's face, hurling the demonic amazon dozens of meters away from her backwards. She hit the ground once, ricocheting from it and grinding on it for a few seconds on her back before she stopped herself with one of her hands.
She then charged once again towards the Demon Bird, blood coming out from her nose and lips, even angrier than before, her snarl growing even more, while roaring "NOW YOU'RE REALLY STARTING TO PISS ME OFFFFFFFF!"
But this only caused Sirene's vicious smile to widen even more. Now she understood: Jun's power was controlled by her anger. As her anger increased, so did her power accordingly. She then replied with a dark chuckle "Hehehehehe… Go ahead then. SHOW ME YOUR RAGE!" while spreading her arms and taking off once again in the air.
Sirene then swooped down towards Jun at incredible speed, crashing onto the Devil Lady's chest with a shoulder tackle, causing her to skid on the ground backwards for dozens of meters before stopping herself and the Demon Bird's tackle in her tracks.
"W-What?! She stopped me?!" Was all Sirene could manage in shock, as Jun promptly grabbed her by the head and her left arm. Sirene tried with all of her might to remove herself from the Jun's grip but it was too strong. The demonic amazon, with a beastial growl then tightened her muscular arms and back and effortlessy lifted Sirene up before hurling her towards several trees, hundreds of meters away.
The Demon Bird crashed into several of them, cutting them in half, causing them to collapse into the ground, creating a cloud of rubble that obscured the rest of them.
Jun had momentarily lost sight of Sirene, but she knew all too well that, it would take a lot more than that to take her down. So she headed towards the fallen trees, retracting her wings in her back in the process. As she arrived in the clearing that had now been formed by the fallen trees, she was surprised to find nothing but silence. She scanned the area with her golden eyes, hoping to spot her enemy but nothing but collapsed trees and the surrouding landscape greeted her eyes.
"Mmph. Playing hide and seek now?" she spoke, tauntingly, a smug grin on her lips. Now her confidence had returned. Jun had realised earlier, that in spite of Sirene being taller and possesing stronger energy abilities, she still edged out the Demon Bird in phisical strength, albeit only slightly. In spite of being evenly matched, Jun suspected that sooner or later she will outlast Sirene in terms of endurance. All she had to do was closing the distance in order to prevent Sirene from using her more powerful psychic and energy attacks.
She was pulled out of her thoughts by the sound of cracking wood and sure enough she saw that several trees on her right were being snapped in half, pointed towards her by the point they were torn off, which was pointed and sharp and promptly launched towards her with surprising speed, effectively turning them into spears. Very large spears.
"Tsk! Another trick of yours?!" she shouted, taken completely off guard, Jun began to barely avoid being impaled by the spear-like tree trunks, crouching, jumping, dodging left and right, avoiding wave after wave of tree trunks, until, fed up with them, she lifted her left arm in the air, put her index and middle finger together, mimicking a handgun, channeled energy in her fingertips until a blue sphere of energy formed in front of her fingers. She then grabbed her left wrist with her right hand before aiming towards the remaining uprooted trees.
Finally, she roared "DEVIL BEAM!" and a blue beam erupted from the sphere of energy. It flew straight towards the remaining tree logs, reducing them to nothing but it didn't stop there. It flew straight at the forest, destroying many other trees in an explosion. One of which was the tree in which Sirene was hiding.
"THERE YOU ARE!" Roared Jun, before pulling out her wings and launching itself towards Sirene upon spotting her, leaving the tree in which she was hiding, mere seconds before the explosion. She flew right in front of Sirene with such a high speed that the Demon Bird's eyes and mouth could only widen before Jun punched her in the face with her right fist, sending her tumbling towards the ground below, in the midsts of the remaining trees of the forest.
Sirene barely managed to regain control of herself mere meters before crashing into the ground, landing softly instead on the grass-covered ground. She didn't even have time to catch her breath as the Devil Lady landed right in front of her before grabbing Sirene by her head and left arm, before spinning her in a circle once and throwing her towards another tree.
She slammed into it with a considerable amount of force, causing her to grunt slightly in pain. She barely managed to duck and avoid another powerful punch from Jun which split the tree in half.
Upon noticing Sirene attempting to widen the distance from her in order to use her more powerful telekinetic and energy abilities, Jun smiled sadistically before swiftly grabbing the Demon Bird by her left wing, stopping her in her tracks and causing her to gasp in shock at her speed.
"T-this speed… when did she get so fast?!" mused Sirene in her mind, shocked. No matter how much she struggled, Jun's grip was too powerful and she could not get away.
The Devil Lady, after retracting her wings, spoke in a mocking tone "And where do you think you're going? Hiding away and then using your little chopsticks again? Not this time, BITCH!" before pulling Sirene towards her and slamming her right knee in Sirene's gut, causing the Demon Bird to spit blood, but Jun wasn't done yet. Taking advantage of Sirene's body, slumping downwards due to the pain inflicted by the last attack, Jun raised both of her arms, brought them together before slamming them down on Sirene's head, earning another pained grunt from her. Jun then followed up with an uppercut on Sirene's chin which threw her body back up before finally unleashing a roundhouse kick on Sirene's face, sending her flying and causing her to spit more blood. All of this in the span of five seconds.
Sirene then regained control of herself before hitting the ground and sprinted towards Jun once again, utterly enraged at the fact that the beast in front of her was beginning to overpower her. And no matter, how much she tried to hide it with her fury, those last four hits had done quite a number on Sirene's body, in particular Jun's knee which had cracked several ribs. But this time she will not give up, not until she would get her revenge against Devilman. Giving up meant giving away her pride, her most defining trait. She was Sirene, the mightiest of all demonesses, not some worthless vermin. Who was this lowly beast to hurt her, to spill her blood?!
"JUUUUUNNNNNNN! I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED BY THE LIKES OF YOUUUUUU!" She roared, blinded by rage and fury, finally losing her composure, before she jumped high in the air before diving down towards Jun, pulling her left talon backwards before bringing it down onto Jun.
But the Demon Bird could watch in shock and horror, all of her rage dissappearing as Jun effortlessy sidestepped and avoided the attack before backhanding Sirene in the face with her right hand causing her to stagger backwards for a few seconds.
Seizing the opportunity Jun lunged at Sirene and grabbed her left forearm with her right hand while with the other, she grabbed her right shoulder. The Demon Bird, tried with all of her might to release herself, but Jun was too strong. Sirene could only close her eyes and scream in pain as Jun, with a slasher smile, began to pull Sirene's left forearm off. She then spoke "Dream on, bitch!" in a taunting, unhinged tone, while pulling even more.
Finally with a mighty roar, the Devil Lady's muscles tightened up before she tore Sirene's forearm off, blood gushing out like a fire hose's jet of water. All the Demon Bird could do, was letting out an even higher pitched scream, filled with utter agony and anguish at the forearm being ripped out of the elbowjoint, every single fiber of muscle and flesh tearing apart.
This caused Sirene to stagger backwards even more, clutching what remained of her arm in pain. But this only lasted mere seconds, before Jun, after tossing the eagle-like forearm off, charged at Sirene with an even mightier, ferocious roar, before pulling her right arm backwards and finally punching the Demon Bird in the face with all of her might.
The punch was so poweful it sent Sirene flying through several trees, cutting them in half before finally crashing into one, not breaking it due to the impact being lessened by the other trees she had collided into before, causing her to jerk her head upwards, her eyes shooting wide open and blood to fly out of her mouth. She finally slid downwards the tree trunk, hitting the ground, her body almost limp.
(Soundtrack Ends)
"H-how? How could this happen?" was all she could let out, feeling herself getting weaker and weaker with each passing second. She could not believe it. Not only had Jun proved to be more than a match for her, she had overpowered her. The power of those last attacks shocked Sirene to the core. That caliber of strength was worthy of the strongest warriors of demonkind, warriors she had fought with side by side, millions of years ago, warriors that earned her admiration.
She was pulled out of her thoughts by what remained of a tree in front of her being uprooted and then tossed away by Jun's bare hands. The Devil Lady now stood in front of her, golden eyes narrowed towards the Demon Bird, now a mere ten meters away, the moon shining brightly behind her, giving an outline.
At that moment Sirene gasped slightly as her eyes gazed upon Jun's beautiful face and powerfully built body. The Demon Bird then realised it: everything about her amazonian body, from the wings on her head, her wide shoulders, her muscular arms, the scars on her biceps, her well defined abdominal muscles and her powerful legs, heck, even her chest, exuded strength and power.
And her golden eyes…. There was no hesitation in her gaze, no second-thought. Her eyes were filled with such determination, fighting spirit and willpower, that they put the gaze of most demons to shame. Sirene finally came to realise, that everything about Jun's appearance was the vision of beauty and power combined. The Demon Bird had always prided herself to be one of the most beautiful demons ever to exist. Indeed, many mistook her for an angel in the eons of her existence. But this was the first time in existence that Sirene had found someone who had enchanted her, despite the fact that Jun resembled her hated enemy, Devilman. She had never witnessed such beauty, such strength and power, all in one package in her entire existence.
Putting her thoughts aside, Sirene slowly managed to get up on her feet, while clutching the stump where her left forearm had been. She then spoke "You… you truly are strong…. Perhaps….. i was wrong….. to misjudge you…." her voice filled with respect, admiration and politeness towards the demonic amazon before her while smiling soothingly.
In response Jun merely replied with a stoic expression and deadpan voice "This battle is over. Accept your defeat." while narrowing her eyes on her former friend.
In response, Sirene, barely holding herself on her feet, slightly doubled over, replied weakly, panting slightly with each phrase "Fool…... A true battle between demons…. ends only when one of them loses its life. …...To accept defeat…... to give up…... would mean giving away my pride…. my honor as a warrior…..." in a somewhat saddened but at the same time oddly satisfied tone, taking Jun slightly by surprise.
After letting out those words, Sirene's legs gave away and she fell on her knees, causing Jun's lips to part away slightly. The Demon Bird's eyes then met Jun's golden eyes once again and Jun stirred up after noticing something in Sirene's blue eyes aside from satisfaction. Sadness, regret and sorrow. The same emotions she saw in Akira's eyes and in the eyes of many humans turned into beasts, poor, unfortunate souls that she had to put down.
Sirene then spoke "Jun….. I am glad….. That my last opponent….. Was you….. Please….. Finish me….Grant me… A warrior's death….." her beautiful voice full of peace, satisfaction and warmth, no longer tainted by fury and bloodlust, her eyes full of joy, admiration and happiness. Once again her life was about to end, but Sirene's heart was at peace. She had found a worthy opponent who had given her the fight of her life ever since her battle against Devilman.
Jun's face returned to her stoic expression before she walked towards Sirene, stopping just a meter before her. The Demon Bird closed her eyes, awaiting for the killing blow.
But it never came.
For as Jun raised her arm and prepared to smash Sirene's skull to a pulp, she stopped. She coudn't do it. The sadness, the remorse, the sorrow she had seen in Sirene's eyes prevented her from finishing her off. Too many times she had witnessed such tragedy, such suffering. And even after what Sirene was about to do, Jun coudn't find the strength to put an end to the life of the being who up until yesterday was her friend, because unlike all those poor souls who had lost their humanity, their reason, Sirene still had her sentience, her soul. She was a sentient being, not a mindless animal. She could still be saved.
After a while, Sirene opened her eyes again and gasped in shock upon seeing Jun lowering her arm down, her lips slightly agape, her eyes softening towards the Demon Bird. She then spoke "What….. what are you doing? Why have not claimed my life?!" her voice full of shock and disbelief, having slightly recovered from Jun's blows from earlier.
In response, Jun replied with a serious but at the same time soft tone "I could see it from your eyes. You are hurt. You have suffered. You have lost people you cared about. Believe me, it is a pain i understand far too well." while assuming a neutral stance. She hoped that her words, her understanding of Sirene's pain would have calmed her down. She hoped to reason with the Demon Bird, to dissuade her from her quest of vengeance.
Instead Jun's face contorted itself in surprise as a look of pure anger and outrage formed on Sirene's face, baring her teeth again, replacing the peace and happiness that she had mere seconds ago. She then spoke "You bastard….. " before suddenly roaring in fury "ARE YOU TAKING PITY ON ME?! ARE YOU MOCKING MY PRIDE?!" causing Jun to jump a few dozen meters backwards due to the sudden outburst.
Jun, saddened by the rejection of her compassion, spoke "Please, Lisa. You don't have to-" she began with a saddened tone and face, hoping to calm her down.
"SILENCE! I AM NOT LISA! I AM SIRENE! AND I DO NOT NEED YOUR PITYYYYYY! roared Sirene with even more fury after getting up on her feet, her yellow aura engulfing her body once again, cutting off Jun's plead. Her powers had returned, thanks to the overwhelming fury that exploded after Jun tried to reason with her. But to the Demon Bird itself Jun had just committed the worst of all sins: insulting her pride. All of her admiration and respect towards Jun vanished at that moment.
At that moment, realising that her former friend was beyond any form of redemption, Jun bared her teeth at Sirene, a spiteful scowl forming on her face, all of her sadness and compassion dissappearing, replaced by anger and indignation before she spoke "You had your chance, Lisa. I thought i could save you. I was wrong." then she took on a stance before charging towards Sirene, this time hell-bent on tearing her apart while roaring "GO TO HELL! YOU ARROGANT, SADISTIC BITCH!"
But, overcome by blinding anger, Jun failed to notice one very important detail. One that proved to be fatal. Sirene's antennas began to move as soon as Jun spoke her last words. Something began to move several hundreds of meters away, all the way before Jun's last punch which had sent Sirene flying onto several trees. And sure enough, as Jun pulled her right arm back for another punch…..
SPLLAAAATTTTT!
At that moment, time itself seemed to stop to Jun. She was so dead set on killing Sirene, that her fury momentarily eclipsed the enormous, excruciating pain that she felt at that moment, which caused her to stop immediately in her tracks. Finally, after a few seconds, that to Jun seemed like eternity, she managed to look down….
What greeted her eyes, was Sirene's left eagle-like forearm, now embedded in her abdomen, having impaled her from behind. Jun gasped in shock before the pain signals finally reached her brain, causing her to close her eyes, throw her head back and scream in utter agony and anguish as blood began to gush incontrollably out of the wound on her gut.
(OST: Yu Yu Hakusho Unreleased Desperate Soundtrack = watch?v=cbkI54PZIjw )
"Hehehehehe….. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" chuckled darkly Sirene before letting out an maniacal, unrestrained laugh, all of her anger replaced by elation and glee. In just an instant, the tables had been turned. Sirene was ready to accept her fate. Death by another warrior's hand was the highest of all privileges a demon could receive. But Jun's compassion and mercy ignited a fury stronger than even her hatred towards Devilman. Not only had she denied Sirene a warrior's death, she had humiliated her. She had insulted her pride, her honor, her integrity, her very own soul! That anger was so powerful that it restored Sirene's power back. And now she will make Jun pay for this affront.
"FOOL! You let your emotions cloud your judgement! You should have finished me off when you had the chance!" exclaimed Sirene, in a mocking tone, while extending what little remained of her left arm. Jun could only watch in even more shock as Sirene used her telekinesis to pull the forearm embedded in her gut, before flying towards Sirene and reattaching itself on the Demon Bird's forearm.
She then began to walk towards Jun, who was still clutching the hole that had been created in her lower torso, grunting in pain as blood kept coming out of the wound as well as from her mouth. The Demon Bird then spoke mockingly "You may have acquired the body and strength of a demon but in the end you're still nothing but a mere human being. And your way of thinking is just as limited as that of the rest of your kind!" before vanishing and reappearing mere centimeters before Jun. The Devil Lady, too weakened, could only watch as Sirene slashed her body in an upwards motion like an uppercut with her right talon, tearing five wounds that ran from her chest to her shoulders, with one even reaching her left cheek, sending her flying towards a tree, breaking it. Jun crashed into the shore of a lake on her chest down.
As she slowly got on her hands and knees, blood coming out of her mouth due to the injuries, Sirene landed towards her, mere inches away. Standing before her with a spiteful scowl on her face, the Demon Bird continued "Compassion? Mercy? Pity? Such emotions are for the weak and they have proved to be your undoing." in a mocking tone, angering Jun even more. With the last of her strength, the Devil Lady tried to hit Sirene in the face with a punch, but the Demon Bird ducked before backhanding her in the face, hurling Jun once again to the ground, this time on her left side.
"I, Sirene, have no need for such emotions. All that matters is the glory of battle and to be victorious." stated Sirene with a deadpan tone, before using one of her feet to turn Jun on her back, causing her piercing blue eyes to once again meet the golden eyes of Jun. She then spoke "How i do it…. And how it comes about….." while lifting one of her clawed feet in the air.
"DOES NOT MATTTTEEEEERRRR!" she roared monstrously before finally sinking the claws on her feet on Jun's chest, causing her to let out a wail of agonizing, excruciating pain as the talons sank deeply in her flesh, almost reaching her heart.
"How….. how reckless of me….." was all Jun could muse in her mind. She hoped, that by talking to Sirene, by reasoning with her former friend, she could have stopped all of this. She didn't want to shed more blood. She didn't want to take another life, misguided as it was. And there she was, inches from death. After all the tragedies that she had to endure, after all the pain, the sorrow, the loss of many of her beloved ones, having managed to accept what she had become after months of inner struggle, this was how it was going to end. Being helplessy torn apart and not being able to do a thing about it, just like how it was going to happen on that fateful night, mere seconds before she transformed for the first time in that warehouse.
She was pulled out of her thoughts by Sirene's voice "I must congratulate with you though: you have injured me more than once. Only three other individuals have had that privilege." she spoke, her voice as arrogant and sadistic and always but at the at the same time, polite. While she may have insulted her honor and pride as a demon, Jun had given Sirene one of the greatest battles of her life. Indeed the Devil Lady even had the Demon Bird at her mercy until her fatal mistake.
"Fear not, Jun. You will forever live in my memories, for the battle you have given me today! You have made my blood boil as it had not boiled in countless centuries! To have felt like this again! To have met an opponent like you! It is the ultimate joy for a warrior!" finally stated Sirene, a grateful smile on her face, her voice full of respect at the demonic beauty that she now held on the edge of death who bared her teeth in defiance at her victor and soon to be, executioner.
"But unfortunately, all good things eventually come to an end." she stated, this time with a dissapointed tone, before finally extending her left arm towards Jun's face, a yellow orb of energy forming in front of her hand. Jun braced herself for the attack that would end her life.
But as Sirene roared "NOW, DIEEEEEEE!", mere seconds before delivering the final blow, it happened.
"SIRENEEEEEEEE!"
Came a demonic, enraged and ferocious voice that caused Sirene's orb of energy to dissappear and her head along with Jun's own to turn towards the direction of the voice.
Sirene didn't even have time to take a good look at the owner of the voice. As soon as she turned her head, a powerful fist slammed onto the right side of her face. The punch was so powerful, it took Sirene's claws off Jun's chest and sent her flying dozens of dozens of meters backwards before she struck a large rock, dozens of meters tall, destroying part of it and causing a large cloud of dust to form. And Jun could only gasp in shock. All of this happened in the span of a few seconds, but in Jun's eyes, it seemed like an eternity.
(Soundtrack Ends)
After closing her eyes and focusing for a few seconds, healing the wounds of her chest, but with the gaping hole in her abdomen still there and using her arms to get in a sitting position with the arms at her sides, one leg extended on the ground and the other curled slightly Jun spoke "Who…. Who are y-"
Only to cut herself mid-speech at for her eyes to widen in amazement as soon as the demonic figure that saved her, took a normal, relaxed stance, before turning towards her. A tall, muscular humanoid demonic male that looked almost like her. Dark red Bat-like wings on his head, human-like colored skin, lower body covered in black fur, a black tail protruding from behind, vampire-like fangs that protruded slightly from his mouth, and a pair of large dark red bat-like wings from his back. But what caught her attention the most was the black eyes of the demonic being. Despite being dead-serious and full of suppressed bloodlust, she coudn't mistake them. They were the same eyes of a person very close to her, the one who had brought her happiness in spite of knowing him for only several weeks. Could that be who she thought she was? Could he really be him?
All of her doubts vanished as soon as the one in front of her spoke in a serious but at the same time concerned tone "Jun. Are you alright?" the eyes suddenly filling with worry.
Jun's eyes and lips widened in shock and her heart sank. The one in front of her was Akira, the young, gentle, shy, sensitive, brave and daring young man, who had pulled her out of her depression, who had spent time with her, who had given her back the strength to move forward. He was just like her: a Devilman. Even though his body was no longer human, his heart still was. And now he had just saved her. But why did he look so much like her?
"A….. Akira….." was all she could manage, her voice full of awe and disbelief. Akira simply nodded, seriousness present all over his face before turning around. He then spoke "Stay back. I'll take care of her." in a serious, almost commanding tone before taking a few steps backwards, distancing himself from Jun, who closed her eyes again and began to heal the hole in her gut.
After stopping a dozen meters away from Jun, Akira spoke "You never learn, do you Sirene? Always stabbing others in the back. Didn't end that well last time, DIDN'T IT?!" with a mocking, enraged tone.
As soon as those words left Akira's mouth, what remained of the large rock was torn apart, parts of it flying in all directions, an even bigger cloud of dust forming. As soon as the cloud, dissappeared, the Demon Bird could be seen, wings spread to their full span, her clawed hands balled up in fists, baring her teeth, pure rage and animalistic fury filling every part of her face, her blue eyes narrowed at her hated enemy who hadn't changed a bit. In the meantime, the sky had been covered by dark clouds and sounds of thunder began to be heard.
"So, you have finally decided to show yourself….." she began with pure hatred and rage in her voice at the sight of her archenemy. The time had come for her to fulfill her revenge not just of her defeat but for her beloved Amon who had been stolen by this filthy human.
"DEVILMAAAAAAANNNNNNNNN!" She finally roared in monstrous and hateful fury while a bolt of lightning struck hundreds of meters nearby, illuminating her hated enemy. The legendary battle was about to begin anew. And this time, Sirene will be the victor. Even if death will once again embrace her.
