Inspired by the passing mentions Clarke makes in the Her Guardians fan fiction, where she doesn't seem to like bananas. I decided to run with that idea.

How to eat food, according to Clarke Griffin

Having been taken in by the Bartons, she her friends, Lydia Martin and Wells Jaha, Clarke Griffin felt like she had gotten very, very lucky in life, especially given the way her life had started out.

However, given her more basic urges-when it came to food. She was very picky about how to eat food.

According to her, biting chunks out of fruits like pears, apples, peaches and stuff, were choking hazards, therein, she would cut them up into small slices, dispose of the pits, then proceed to eat them.

Sure, there was that one time where she tried to swallow a peach pit whole, and then had found the peach pit missing from the counter, by the open window. She wasn't sure where the peach pit had gone, but whatever.

In any case, Clarke took to cutting pieces of fruits up when eating them.

It seemed somewhat counterintuitive, since when greeted with some berries, blueberries and raspberries, grapes, she would just have a bunch of them in her palm and wash them under water, then gulp them down by the bunches.

It was somewhat the same with meat dishes she ate. She would gulp slices of meat, and tear chunks out of drumsticks, so much so, that her parents, Laura and Clint Barton, often got slightly worried.

Now, desserts, there was no question; ice cream, fudge, chocolates? She would gulp practically buckets of it all down. Which did make her parents and siblings wonder why Clarke even bothered to be careful about not choking when it came to pears, apples and peaches, but whatever.

Then there was the dreaded food itself for Clarke.

The food that Clarke strongly believed ruined any dish it was in, as soon as it was added.

Bananas.

How exactly did you deal with bananas, according to Clarke? The answer was this; you didn't deal with bananas.

How you disposed of bananas? Now, with that, Clarke had many ideas. As soon as she saw the bananas that Clint got one time, she had all sorts of ideas for those in her own words, "phallic abominations."

It wasn't that she was opposed necessarily to how the bananas were shaped. It was just that she hated how they tasted and that that taste tended to infect any dish that a banana was added to, whether it was a sweet or savory dish.

So, Clarke insulting the bananas for their shape, was just an add-on of her aggression against the bananas.

She suggested flushing the bananas down the toilets in the house, she suggested using a flamethrower on the bananas.

Hearing that, actually made both Clint and Laura chuckle.

And when Clint began to hand out the bananas for those that wanted them, Clarke said, "Fine, give me one."

Clint and Laura both had looked at her, confused, then had handed her the banana.

Clarke had then proceeded to go to the open window in the dining room, swung her arm back and then threw the banana out the window, with all her might.

"Clarke!" Laura yelled, but laughter seemed to choke up most of her astounded exclamation.

Clarke turned back to her parents and announced, "That is how you properly eat a banana."

Clint hadn't been able to help it, he just burst out laughing at that.

Wells, Lydia and Cooper all giggled too as Laura rolled her eyes.

As Clarke was about to leave the window, she froze by it, almost positive that she heard laughter coming from outside.

It sounded like women's laughter.

But the laughter seemed to fade in seconds. Clarke turned to look out the window. She saw no sign of anyone outside. Maybe it was the wind.

Deep down, Clarke knew that that was bullshit.

From the outside, figures that had heard all the commotion and had seen the banana be evacuated from the house very forcefully by one Clarke Griffin, had caused several of those figures, vampires, to burst out laughing.

They knew that they shouldn't have almost called attention to themselves, but still, they hadn't really been able to help it.

Often they would have to interfere for more normal reasons than just someone trying to abuse Clarke. That one time when Clarke had almost swallowed that peach pit, curious if she could do it, was one of them. One of them had slipped through the window, while Clarke's back was turned and had grabbed the peach pit, before she could attempt to swallow it and potentially risk choking on it. It was unlikely that she would have choked on it, but they still hadn't liked the idea of her trying it. Thankfully, Clarke had no idea how the peach pit had gone missing.

Clarke's hate of bananas they had always known about, since Clarke was always verbal about her hatred of those things because of how they tasted.

But seeing how aggressively Clarke reacted to a banana, it still brought them to laughter.

Wanda, Natasha, Diana, Tora, Helena, Maria, Shayera, Jennifer, Felicia, Dinah, Hope, all of them, they knew that Clarke would be an adult soon, however, for all their stalking and the murders they had committed for Clarke, they felt like they could be excused completely for laughing at the sight of Clarke going into an outrage, over a damn banana.
