Chapter 7-The Emperors new planet.
Location: South galaxy
Age: 764 (4 years ago)
Veritas. A Utopian planet. Many years ago, the people of Veritas had forsaken war and all the horrors that came with it. A world government was formed, armies were abolished and the scientists, who once created weapons of destruction, turned their minds to fixing the problems of hunger and disease. With such cooperation on a global scale, it seemed that nothing was beyond the Veritians reach. In less than a century It had gone from a primitive and warlike planet to planet unspoiled by famine, sickness or war… Until now.
The mysterious beings had come from the sky. The message was broadcast all across the world that the inhabitants of this planet were under the jurisdiction of the invaders. When the world leaders tried to negotiate with the extra-terrestrials… They were dealt with. Now the planet, which had not learned the art of war for centuries, would have to fight against these aliens. "Jurisdiction." They had said, but everyone knew what that meant. Enslavement.
A people who may not fight against their own kind may certainly fight an invading force. So fight they did, but, though the Veritians were an advanced species, they were no match for these beings and their god-like powers. Flight, super strength and speed, invulnerability and even energy manipulation. It had taken less than three days for the invaders to quell any and all resistance.
And how many warriors did it take to bring this utopia to its knees? One might think a thousand or even several hundred at least. But it had only taken three. As these three warriors watched the capital city crumble alongside the survivors, a large ship descended behind them. When it landed, three personages walked out. The one on the right was a beautiful woman with Dark skin and long, white hair tied in a ponytail. She was tall and held herself with the confidence of a queen. To the left was a man, even taller than the woman, with bulging muscles, black hair and onyx eyes. In the center was an elderly man with a cane. He was green with an odd glow about him. He was the least imposing of the three but it was clear to any onlooker the deference the other two showed him.
"KNEEL BEFORE YOUR NEW EMPEROR!" One of the warriors commanded of the natives. All around the Veritians dropped to their knees, more out of helplessness than reverence. The three warriors did likewise and the first among them addressed the old man.
"My liege. We have worked tirelessly for the empire and now I present, your new planet, Veritas." It was clear that the warrior was proud of his achievements but the emperor did not look impressed. As he surveyed the wreckage, he looked almost disappointed.
"Bit of a fixer upper isn't it?" he mused allowed. Then he spoke directly to the warrior who addressed him "Tell me Quartz, why was so much destruction necessary? I seem to recall this planet being a peaceful one. Surely this show of force wasn't necessary."
The one called Quarts stiffened. He was expecting adulation from his emperor, not censure. "My liege, this people resisted beyond all reason. We had to show them how futile such resistance was."
The emperor considered this, then he looked out over the surviving natives and called to a young female. "You there, young one." He said gently. "Why did your people resist? Surely you were all told how wonderful my empire was?" The little girl was to scared to speak. "Were you not told how such an alliance would help your people progress? Your utopia could only have been made better by coming under my protection. I ask you once more, what was the purpose of this senseless violence? Speak child, you needn't be afraid."
The girl looked up at the old man and trembled as she spoke. "W-we didn't w-want to f-f-fight." Each word seemed like it took her the greatest effort to speak.
Th old man looked puzzled "Well if you didn't want to fight, and I didn't want to fight, why was there fighting?" This question was asked to the masses. Everyone was quiet for a moment. One man, who looked to be the same age as the emperor, spoke up.
"If you didn't wish for a fight, then why did your men kill our leaders even as we sued for peace?" He spoke firmly, yet calmly. "Of course, we would fight for our lives to prevent murderers from ruling over our once peaceful world."
The Emperor looked from the old man to Quartz. "Is what this man said true? Did you kill this planets' leaders when they asked for peace?"
Now Quartz was sweating. "Erm, yes your grace, I did." Then he looked at his master imploringly. "But only because they had the audacity to negotiate with us. Why should we negotiate to obtain what is rightfully yours?"
The emperor looked at his servant for what seemed like forever. Then he smiled. "You have been a good servant Quartz. Rise and receive your reward."
Quartz, who had been kneeling in fear this whole time, rose and was smiling. "Oh, thank you master! I knew you would understand our ac-" But before he could finish expressing his gratitude, his head was blown clean off. The other two warriors who had been silent all this time looked horrified at their comrade and his headless body. The turned their attention to their master who had his still smoking finger outstretched, pointed at where Quartz' head had been.
"Let that be a lesson to you two." Said the stone-faced emperor. Then he addressed the masses. "People of Veritas, I am the Jade Emperor! You are now citizens of my Empire! As my new subjects, you are entitled to my protection. I am sorry that our association has come at such a heavy price for your people. I did not wish for my men to cause this destruction and for his crimes I have executed him. We will rebuild your world into the greatness it once was and then, we will make it greater still. I assure you that through our mutual efforts, we will see a new age of peace greater than this world, or even galaxy has ever seen!" And finishing his speech, he turned back to his ship.

Once in the privacy of his own ship the woman asked her master a question. "Master, was it necessary to kill Quartz? He may not have been our best or brightest, but he was loyal to you. Was his life worth the worthless sheep that he slaughtered for you and your empire? Afterall I've never known you to care much for these backwater planets or their people."
The Jade emperor chuckled. "My dear Adamantia, it isn't a question of caring about either party. It's true that this planet may not have been as advanced as others we have conquered, but it has potential. It's such a waste to have to rebuild every city on every planet we conquer if the diplomatic approach would yield us the same results." He paused a moment to think and a frown crossed his face. "It's true that Quartz was a devoted follower. That's why I sent him to begin with. I wanted to see if he could become more than just a low-level meat head. Sadly, he was lacking, and I have no room in my empire for fools who cannot progress.
Adamantia frowned and shook her head. "Maybe Quartz was a bit of an idiot, but the damage wasn't that bad. He quelled the rebellion and only a few dozen cities got destroyed." Adamantia wasn't sentimental, but she really hated to see good fighters go to waste.
"A few dozen cities that needn't have been destroyed at all. A few dozen cities that will need to be repaired if I am to convert this planet into a trading post. What good is a planet with no infrastructure, or workers for menial labor. Only an idiot sends his warriors to purge an entire planet, destroying everything in their path, who do I look like, Frieza?"
"Speaking of Frieza, I picked up a bit of news recently that might interest you my liege." Adamantia stated changing the topic slightly. "Apparently he was killed, not long ago by, a saiyan" She said the last bit while looking at the bulky man who was near their lord.
"Why would that interest me?" replied the old man. "Frieza was a weakling, who couldn't even control his full power. If it weren't for his blasted father, I'd have killed the fool myself years ago."
"That's the best bit my lord," the woman said smiling. "Whoever killed Frieza also offed old kind Cold." This caused the emperor to reel back.
"What!? That's impossible, there's no way a lone saiyan could defeat that demon." King Cold had been the ruling power in north galaxy and the one thing keeping The Jade emperor from invading it himself.
"Maybe he wasn't fully transformed at the time." Adamantia stated not overly concerned one way or the other. "Maybe age has made him more vulnerable. It doesn't really matter how though does it? After all this opens up a whole new world for you and your glorious empire."
The Jade emperor thought a moment and then asked. "How did you even get this information? Are you certain it's accurate?"
"My lord, you have spies all over the universe. Is it so strange that we would have one in the neighboring galaxy? Our spies know the penalty of giving false information."
A smile crept over the old mans face. "Perhaps we should pay a visit to these brave heroes who liberated our brother galaxy from such a "terrible" tyrant. Perhaps they might even help us in our quest for "universal peace." What planet is this saiyan living on?"
"A small planet, not unlike this one. It's called Earth." Adamantia replied.
"Very well, leave whatever help this planet needs. I wish for it to be in top condition when we return. For now, we head for Earth." The emperor turned to the bulky man in the room. "Well I suppose you must be excited to see your old galaxy, eh, you might even get to meet another member of your race. Won't that be nice?"
The large man merely bowed. "I do not remember the saiyans and I care not for a galaxy I never lived in. You are my only family master."

Location: Earth, North galaxy
Age:768 (Present time)
Gohan had been to the far reaches of space. He had fought a killer android monster from the future. His list of friends for most of his life included 2 namekians, a bald dwarf, a triclops, a…Whatever Chiaotzu was, an old pervert (Master Roshi), a young pervert (Yamcha), a super genius middle aged girl, A kid from the future, a talking pig, a talking floating cat, a talking turtle and a purple dragon. He himself was part alien and he even rode a flying cloud around sometimes. All in all, the young warrior thought that his threshold for strange was pretty high. That is, until he went to his first class.
Well, the actual classes weren't that bad. Most of the lessons were pretty elementary for Gohan, who had studied most of the curriculum even before his mom had thought about enrolling him in school. No, the weirdness began was in between his classes. It seemed that everywhere he went, people were following him. Whenever he entered a room all the females would go quiet, then giggle hysterically for no reason, all while looking at him. The girls weren't the only ones who Gohan was worried about. The Guys were also acting strange around him. It seemed that anytime he spoke, or even entered a room he would feel an intense aura of malice aimed at him from the male students.
At first, he thought that he was just imagining things. Maybe this is how things are in the "normal world." He reasoned. He had never really interacted with children his own age so he didn't have a baseline and for all he knew all female preteens are insane and all male preteens are full of rage (an assessment not far from the truth). So, with this new hypothesis he finished the last period, went home, finished his homework, trained with Piccolo and prepared for the next day.
The second day of school seemed to add validity to his theory. As he sat down at his desk for the first class of the day, he glanced toward the door. To his surprise, a gaggle of giggling girls were all staring at him from the hallway. Certain that this was not normal, yet, having no other course of action available, he decided to ignore it. Unfortunately for him, this only seemed to make the problem worse. Now anytime he spoke at least one girl would sigh and a boy would growl. His suspicions that someone might be following him where confirmed when a flock of girls followed him to (but thankfully not into) the boys' room. The negative energy coming from the male students was also making it hard to concentrate. Afterall who can study when you're in a room full of people who wish you bodily harm. Gohan determined that the craziness of the females was somehow linked to the animosity of the males (though how or why Gohan couldn't fathom.)
Gohan was getting seriously worried. Is this what the rest of the year is going to be like? Giggling girls and growling guys? Maybe I should talk to somebody about this. He flew home and did his homework, but instead of going to train with piccolo right away, he walked down looking for the one person he thought might give him some insight into this problem. She was currently sitting on the couch, playing with a laughing Goten.
"Um, Zangya, can I talk to you about something?" Gohan asked nervously.
Ever since Goten nearly destroyed the house and Chichi made Piccolo and Zangya fix it, the blue alien had been coming over pretty regularly to babysit Goten and sometimes chat with Chichi. She and Gohan even swapped war stories of their respective adventures and had developed something of a friendship. Gohan didn't telling his mom about the craziness of his school mates was a good idea. He didn't want her to worry for one thing. He especially didn't want her to pull him out of school on his second day. He couldn't talk to Bulma about this either, after all she was so busy with Trunks, and Capsule corps, and Vegeta. Luckily, he had a new friend who happened to be female. Maybe she would have the answers.
Zangya was more than happy to listen to Gohans troubles, but the more she heard of his time at school, the grimmer her expression got. "This doesn't bode well for you, I'm afraid." She said with a sigh
"Why? Do you know what's going on?" the fact that the battle hardened Zangya was worried for his safety made him nervous.
"What your telling me sounds really similar to this ritual I came across when I was in the Dormidia sector. There was this really primitive planet and whenever the natives encountered an intruder who was stronger than them, all the women would chatter and surround them while the men would growl and send negative waves at them. After several days of this the intruder would be so terrified and week he couldn't sleep. It invoked some kind of magic that would slowly drive the person insane until finally the whole tribe would attack." Zangya finished her story. She had actually heard the story second hand from some drunk in a space tavern, so she discounted it. But the fact that this was happening to her young friend made her worry.
"Wait a minute." Something didn't add up to the preteen. "If the intruder was stronger than them, then how was he captured?"
"Well the problem is that the intruder never knows there in danger until its too late. They all just think it's some quirk of the local people. By the time they realize what's happening, it's too late."
Gohan gulped. "So, what should I do? Is there a way to counteract this ritual?" The young half saiyan was now seriously worried about his next day at school.
Zangya thought for a moment before answering. "Well, the story came from a survivor and the way he said he escaped was he fought them all at once, which stopped them from completing the ritual."
"So, your saying I have to fight my classmates, or die?" Gohan was not pleased with his options.
"Well, maybe you don't have to fight them." Zangya said. "Maybe If you just scare them enough, they wont bother you anymore."
"Well, I guess it's worth a shot." Gohan said, though he was rather depressed about the whole thing.
Break
Gohan went to school the next day, hoping that the weirdness would stop. His hope was in vain as the giggles and the growls continued.
Okay, at lunch, I will make my move. I won't hurt anybody; I'll just scare them a bit. Ya I'll challenge them and they might just leave me alone. Gohan was feeling more confident with every passing class.
-Meanwhile, at the Son residence-
"YOU TOLD HIM WHAT!?" yelled Chichi, not sure whether to burst out laughing or keep screaming at Zangya.
"Was I wrong?" The alien girl replied confused at Chichis reaction.
She couldn't hold it in anymore. "BHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Laughing it was.
After she calmed down, she explained to the other woman what was really happening at Gohans school.
"Wait, you're telling me that this strange behavior of the females stems from their desire to mate with Gohan?"
"Well, er, not quite."
"And the males are jealous because Gohan is taking all the viable females?"
"Um, Basically."
Both women stayed silent for a moment. Then Zangya spoke.
"Poor kid."
-Back at school-
Lunch period had just started and while Gohan was hungry, he had a different item on the menu. Survival. He saw the crowd of girls sitting at all the tables surrounding him. Further back he saw the guys glaring daggers as they chewed their lunch.
"Well, it's now or never." Gohan said to himself. He stood up and cleared his throat, gaining the attention of the entire room. "Alright, listen up everyone. I know what it is you want and I just have one thing to say." He took off his uniform jacket and threw it to the side. "Come and get it!"
After his declaration the entire room was silent. Gohan was a little happy. Maybe this would be enough to deter their attempts on his life. He was about to relax when-
"KYYYYAAAAAAAAA! HE'S SO COOOOLLLL!" Every girl had been smitten with the boy. He was smart, kind, handsome and just. So. COOL. Each girl took his challenge as a personal invitation to glomp him and so, almost as one body, they rushed the poor kid.
Needless to say, this is not what gohan was expecting. He knew that he could beat everyone of his attackers, he knew that, but running seemed a more viable option, so run he did. He ran toward the library, but they were already there, then he hi-tailed it to the gymnasium but was once again cut off. His last resort was the boys' bathroom but somehow, they knew he was going there and where waiting. Gohan kept running until he found a dead end. He had gained some distance but he was trapped. He looked around, praying for an exit, and then he noticed it. His salvation! It was a hatch leading to the roof of the school. He scurried through it as fast as he could and shut the hatch behind him.
"Where'd he go?"
"I know I saw him run this way?"
"Did you see his face? He's so cute playing hard to get."
"Come on girls he has to be around here somewhere, let's double back."
Gohan heard the Girls as they ran away from his position.
"Phew" He breathed a sigh of relief. "Well, I still got 30 minutes before the next class, I might as well get comfortable." He was about to sit down when a soft "Hem, hem" alerted him to another presence. He spun around to see to his horror, a girl.
"Excuse me," She said "but do you mind keeping it down? I was trying to study."
Surprised that this girl wasn't Giggling, Gohan was a bit speechless. He was able to work out a quick "Sorry?" before she continued.
"So, you're that guy everyone's been talking about?" she said while looking at her textbook and making some notes. "I don't know what all the fuss is about, bunch of savages."
Gohan realized that he had met possibly one of the only sane people in the school. He examined her a little just to make sure he wasn't insane yet. Brown hair, pigtails, glasses, text books. Seems real enough. "I guess it's my fault, I was hoping to scare them off by challenging them but that kinda backfired and then all the girls started chasing me." He said while rubbing the back of his head.
"You challenged them? Like to a fight?" the girl asked. Gohan nodded. When she asked why, Gohan explained his logic how he was trying to avoid being a victim of their ritual. When he finished his explanation the girl just stared at him and said "you are a special brand of moron, you know that."
Gohan took a little offense to that. "Well why do you think everyone in the school is acting crazy huh?" he said a bit defensively.
"First of all, it isn't everyone in the school, just our year. Second, do you really think that a bunch of preteens are going to plot to murder someone? Even if they were why you? Thirdly The reason they are acting stupid is because the girls are crushing on you and the boys are jealous of you." She surveyed him once again. "now that I see you up close, I really don't see the big deal. I mean sure you are decent looking, but it is apparent to me that you are as dumb as a bag of rocks." With that parting shot, she turned back to her books.
Gohan was a bit annoyed with this girl. Her explanation made way more sense than his and Zangyas but she didn't have to be so mean about how she said it. He looked over at her notes and noticed something off. He smirked a little before pointing to her notes
"That's wrong." He said as politely as he could.
"What's wrong?" she asked not really paying him any mind.
"Number 6. You're supposed to add the exponents of like variables not multiply them."
"I didn't…" she looked at the answer she wrote and furiously erased the mistake and corrected it. She looked at Gohan who didn't look smug, but was smiling an easy carefree "You're welcome" kind of smile. Her heart skipped a beat (Which annoyed her). Then the bell rang.
"Thanks for letting me hide up here Tsuki. I'll try not to disturb you in the future." He then climbed down the hatch back to the hallway.
Wait how did he… "Hey how did you know my name?!" She yelled after him.
His head popped back through the hatch. "it was written on your book cover. Later."
"I guess he isn't a complete idiot." She grumbled, then gathered up her things and left the roof after Gohan.
Break
That night Zangya apologized profusely to Gohan as he relayed what happened to her and his mom (Who was trying very hard to keep from laughing). Gohan really did feel foolish about the whole thing. Still, maybe now he knew what the problem was, he could actually take the proper steps to fix it.
As Gohan laid down to go to sleep, he thought about everything that happened. School had definitely turned out to be more excitement than he bargained for. He hoped that things would start settling down tomorrow. He also hoped he would get to talk to Tsuki again. Not sure where that last thought came from, he decided not to worry and drifted off to sleep.
End chapter.
A/N: I had a hard time with this chapter for two reasons. First because I am introducing a few OCs which I know readers have mixed feelings about. The fact that this story happens during the 7-year gap makes this nearly impossible to do without some original characters. The other reason this was harder was Gohan in middle school, while fun, was difficult for me to imagine. Gohan has always been a mature kid and putting him in an environment where his peers are not mature makes for a challenge (for me anyway). Plus, I don't really remember what junior high was like except that it was awkward and weird for everyone involved. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed writing this and I hope you have fun reading.
